There's plenty of local baseball and softball today. First of all, in baseball
Cambridge visited the area and they stopped in Ithaca. It took on the bulldogs
today that Ithaca was a winner. Five one Cambridge then traveled to Richland
Center and they lost to the Hornets Richland Center. 11 Cambridge won in six
innings. Aquinas defeated Prairie Duccheans six nothing and middle point five
four over Broadhead Judah. In softball, the Ithaca triangular today Ithaca was a
winner against Hillsboro 12-6. Richland Center defeated Hillsboro 14-1 and the
Hornets defeated Ithaca for nothing today in high school softball. In the
Belmont tournament, Broadhead defeated River Valley 7-1, Broadhead 2-1 over
Cuba City and the Cubans defeated Belmont 4-2. At middle point, middle point
winner 10-nothing over Waterloo and Mount Horob 7-2 over Lancaster. Other
softball games, Readsburg 7-1 over La Crosse Logan. It was Readsburg winning
against La Crosse Central 11-1. At Wisconsin Dells, the Dells over Black River
Falls 14-13 in softball. Portage 12-nothing over the Dells and Portage Beat Lake
Mills 6-nothing. Two rivers beat Barobu 14-3 at the Barobu invite today. River
Ridge over Pecahtanica 9-3 the final as well in area softball. Time
there was to a bases loaded walk in the eighth inning to help Tampa Bay beat
the Brewers 4-3 last night. The two teams are underway today with action.
Outfielder Sal Free Lake returned to the brewer line up from a left knee injury
for last night's game. For the left, the four-nothing victory over the Cubs on
Sunday with discomfort in this left knee and missed the next three games. The
2024 nationally gold glove winner felt discomfort while taking a swing. An
MRI showed no major damage. The Brewers have shuffled their infield bench
options by recalling Andrew Monasterio from Triple A Nashville and
designated Vinny Capra for assignment. The Brewers also have recalled
left-handed pitcher Brian Hudson from Nashville. Monasterio played 151 games
for the Brewers from 2023 and 24 but had spent all of this year in the minors.
