It's time for a look at local sports today.

I'm Phil me Richland center 1 6 5 over River Valley and an exciting softball game heard

on the radio.

The visiting Hornets one for the second time this season over the Black Hawks.

Kyrie Fisher pitch the first 5 and 2 thirds innings with 9 strikeouts 6 walks and she gave

up 3 hits.

Chloe Darling finished the game giving up 3 hits and striking out 2 McKenzie Woodhouse pitched

the first 2 plus innings for River Valley and Tessa Schluter finished the game and gave

up 2 hits.

Ally Hillbrand doubled in 2 runs to get River Valley the early lead.

The Hornets played 3 runs in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th to take a 5-2 lead.

The Black Hawks scored 2 in the 6th and the Hornets added an insurance run on the 7th that

proved to be the winning run.

River Valley picked up 3 hits in the bottom of the 7th.

Trailing by a run, the Black Hawks potential tying run was tagged out of the plate by Hornets

catcher Maddie McLean as the game ended.

Ella Clements and JC Gander each had 2 hits for Richland Center, Chloe Darling had 2 RBI's

for the Hornets as they improved to 8 and 7 overall and 4 and 3 in the conference.

Leah Makarowski led River Valley with 2 hits and Ally Hillbrand had 3 RBI.

The Black Hawks fell to 6 and 11 overall and 1 and 6 in the league.

Elsewhere in softball from yesterday, Prairie Dushine edged Lancaster, final score there

was 7-5.

Also victory yesterday for Cubicity, 10-2 over Iowa Grant, mineral point, 10-0 over

Southwestern.

River Ridge, 4, Monticello, New Glarris, 1, Dodgeville, 6, Plattville, 2.

It was a victory for Ithaca over the Farge, 12-0 in softball in 5 innings.

JC Maxwell was the winning pitcher, striking out 7, walking 2 and giving up 1 hit.

Holly King, 2 for 2, 2 RBI's, a double and a triple.

Kelsey Coleman, 2 for 3 with an RBI and a double, Emma Hillby, 2 for 3 with an RBI, a double

and a triple.

Chelsea Hipsch was 1 for 2 for LeFarge.

Elsewhere in softball from yesterday, a victory for Adams friendship over the Dels, by

a score of 8-3, 1-1 center, 10-8 over Hillsboro, 5-0, Toma beat Aquinas.

The Weston softball team played one of its best games of the year.

They lost to Kikapoo 9-6.

Kikapoo turned a triple play in the sixth inning with runners in first and third with no

outs and the runner on first was stealing the batter, hit a pop-up and caught both runners

off base.

So a very good defensive play helped Kikapoo get over the top.

Valerie Bauer pitched a great game allowing 6 hits, 1 walk and striking out 5 for Weston.

Kaleigh Sebenauer had 3 hits to lead the Eagles who host North Crawford on Monday and

travel to Ithaca next Thursday.

The Weston baseball team scored the win against Kikapoo 17-nothing.

Isaac Jennings got the win on the mound throwing 4 innings with 1 hit, 9 strikeouts and

no walks.

Trevor Westfall in relief with 1 innings, no hits, no walks and 3 strikeouts.

The Eagles belted out 20 hits on the night.

Gavin Cast 3 for 3 with a double in an RBI and 3 run scored, Hunter Coy, 2 for 3 with

a double, 3 RBI's and 2 run scored, Garrett Granger, 2 for 4 with 2 run scored, Ryan Greenwood,

2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and 1 scored, Garrett Jennings, 2 for 3 with 2 run scored, Isaac

Jennings, 2 for 3 with a home run, 3 RBI's and 1 run scored, Trevor Westfall, 2 for

3 with a double in a triple, 3 RBI's and 3 run scored and Brady Westfall, 2 for 2 with

1 run scored.

Plenty of the way for Ithaca in baseball last night, West Nelson had 3 hits as did Houston

Garcia-Bolen, 2 hits for Sammy Clary, Wyatt Hilby and Caden Keller, along with Devon

I, as the Bulldogs scored the win.

Caden Keller worked 4 innings and Ben Hepsch won for the Bulldogs in that win last evening.

That final score was Ithaca 14 and the Farge 2 in baseball.

Richell Center with a win and a make up game against Prairie Dushin last night, 7-2

the final score, as the Hornets claimed victory.

It was also a victory last night for Lancaster over River Valley in a good ball game, 4-3

the final in Southwest Conference play.

The Richell Center soccer team fell to Wisconsin Heights, 5-0, despite getting down very early

in the game.

The Hornets continued to fight until the end, playing a solid rest of the game working

as a team.

The team is a whole battling a lot of injuries this season.

The Hornet defense is clicking later in the season despite the loss.

They are playing as one unit led by Captain Keeper, Lily Tidrick and a young defense of

Ella Stadler, Sylvia Schmidt, Bryn Anderson and Harper Glass-Brenner.

The Hornets continued to improve each game and looked forward to 4 games coming up next

week.

This week, the Ithaca Weston track team has been busy, Maggie Kirschner with a 6-place

PR in the 1600 shot put, 5th place finish for faith to Nitschka, and a 3rd place in the

discus, including a PR.

Bailey Wanlas was 5th, Maggie Kirschner 10th, a 1,600 second place for Clayton Lee,

Brasen Garcia-Bolen and Conor Montes also competed in that event.

In the 400, Baltazar Kaiser was 5th, Deakin McDonough 8th.

High jump, gauge busher was 6th, Clayton Lee 7th.

In the pole vault, Brasen Garcia-Bolen with a PR at a 5th place finish, in the triple

jump, gauge busher was 4th, John Hash 5th, Deakin McDonough was 9th and a PR in the discus,

and an 8th place finish for Deakin McDonough in the shot put for the Ithaca Weston track

teams.

We'll have a live broadcast today from River Valley High School as the Black Hawks

Play host to Richland Center, an area southwest Wisconsin conference baseball.

It'll be a great game to feature and a 445 pre-game on WRCO FM 100.9 and WRCO.com.

For River Valley, they will have softball action coming up this weekend, they'll be at

Belmont, tomorrow, the point at game that was originally on the schedule will not be

played.

Also, today Riverdale is busy with games including baseball at home against Southwestern, and

the Riverdale softball team is playing host to Seneca.

Seneca is on the road to Brookwood today, baseball and softball action, and Weston getting

set for its baseball triangular, which happens tomorrow morning.

It's JV triangular action at Casinovian Memorial Park, and then we'll get underway at ten

o'clock.

Summer Leaf is on the way for the struggling brewer pitching staff left-hander Jose

Cantana takes the mound for the first game of a weekend series in Florida tonight,

but injuries have thinned out the starting staff.

Aaron Savali is beginning a rehab assignment at AAA Nashville.

Another starter, Brandon Woodruff, is very close to a return to the big show, and he brings

ace quality stuff to Milwaukee, something that has been missing when Freddie Peralta

is not on the mound.

Here are Brewer baseball all season long from WRCE FM 1007.7 and AM 1415.

Yesterday Atlanta was a winner, 5-4 over Cincinnati, Arizona 5, the Dodgers 3, Minnesota 5-2 over

Baltimore, Boston 5-0 over Texas, Kansas City 10, the White Sox Nothing, Toronto 8-5 over

the Angels.

Detroit took two from Colorado 10-2 and 11-1, and Philadelphia a 7-6 winner against Tampa

Bay.

Finally in sports, Julius Randall had 24 and 11 assists to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves

through another uneven performance.

This time capitalizing on Golden State Warrior star Stefan Curry's absence in a 117-93 victory,

could tie the second round series at one game a piece.
