The River Valley Alumni Track Invitational was held in Springgreen yesterday, and we
have updated final scores to tell you about. Kikapool of Farge swept the event in the
girls competition. They finished first with 162 points, Richland Center second with 122.5.
River Valley finished with 111.75, good enough for third, Dodgeville Mineral Point fourth place
with 107.75. Lancaster Cook Fifth at 103, and Ethica West and finished with 29 points,
and that was good enough for sixth place. Boy Scores, Kikapool of Farge took first with 132 points,
second place goes to Dodgeville Mineral Point with 129. Third place, Richland Center scored 120,
River Valley scored 118. They finished fourth, fifth place goes to Lancaster with 100,
and Ethica West and finished in sixth place with 41 points.
In girls high school soccer from last night, Readsburg shut down Beaver Dam,
three to one. In high school baseball, the Ethica Bulldogs dropped a tough one on the road to
the Soto, the final score to Soto eight, and Ethica won. It was Lakeside Lutheran five,
nothing over River Valley. Cuban City five, Riverdale three, Phenomore picked up a win over
Darlington five to two. North property 11, LaFarge one, Dodgeville and Wisconsin Heights played,
Heights took a 9-5 win. Readsburg shut out Sock Prairie five, nothing. It was a victory for
Portage over Stoughton five to four, and Aquinas over Toma three to one. Softball action,
Ethica four, zero over to Soto, 15, nothing. Iowa Grant over Bonskabel,
Perdishine down Potosi, Casville three to one. Belmont with a shut out win over
Wazika Stubin five, nothing. Dodgeville 18, Belville zero, Aquinas a 10 run win over
Verokway Youth initiative 14 to four. West Salem shut out Westby 11 to nothing,
cashed in over 1-1-1 center, 15 to two. Wisconsin Dells over Partiville seven to two,
Portage 10, Baraboo three, and Gay Electric Crumpleo defeated Sparta eight to five.
There is a softball quad going on today in Richland center. All softball games will be played at
CrossCup Park. The 9 a.m. matchup is Auburndale versus Richland center. That's on the East Diamond,
Phenomore versus Seneca will be on the West Diamond. Again, all games in the softball quad today in
Richland center will be played at CrossCup Park. The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Chicago Cubs
10 nothing last night, marking their second consecutive shut out, and the second largest shut out
by the Cubs against the Brewers in franchise history. It marks the first time since September
of 2001 that the Brewers have been shut out by seven or more runs in consecutive games,
and just the second time in franchise history. And it was as mentioned, the second largest

The Green Bay Packers have decided not to pick up the fifth year option for linebacker
Quay Walker. He was a first round draft pick in 2022. Now this doesn't mean that Walker's
time in Green Bay is over. The front office is working on a more cap-friendly contract extension.
Walker has started 43 of 51 games since joining the Packers, piling up more than 100 tackles each
season. One of the university Wisconsin's top volleyball players is entering the transfer portal.

Greg Popovich has stepped down as coach of the San Antonio Spurs, ending a three-decade run
