It was a busy high school sports day among the scores we have, high school baseball.
It was Ithaca over Verokwa, 5-3 and Wisconsin-Delves defeated Dominican, final score of 6-0.
Today at Riverdale Riverdale was a winner in the Riverdale Quad, 15-0 over Waniwak
Center, Peccatonic had a Feded Weston, 14-8 and Waniwak Center over Weston, 7-6.
It was Peccatonic getting the win against Riverdale, 7-3.
Today Richland Center hosted a Quad.
Riverdale was a winner, 3-1.
Games were played at Crosca Park by the way.
It was Phenomore edging Seneca by a score of 6-5.
Richland Center over Seneca, final score there was 8-4 and Phenomore a winner against
Auburndale, 7-4.
Softball played in the area today also includes Prairie Dushin, 8-1 over Bangor and Watoma
beat Westby, final score was 10-7.
The Gingermory track invitation was held today at Riverdale hosted by the Chieftains.
And among the team scores, it was Hethic-Oweston boys finishing 4th, Riverdale 6th, Riverdale
girls team finished 2nd, Hethic-Oweston was 7th.
Among the team scores, New Lisbon won both the boys and girls rankings, 185 to Hillsboro's
114, New Lisbon 162 and also Riverdale 144.
For the Riverdale Chieftains, Mary Medina with a 2nd place finish in the 100 and Movana
Zarbok was 3rd in that event.
Mary Medina was first in the 200-meter dash and Caitlin Mies finished 5th for Riverdale.
For the Riverdale boys and Real Gan Tula was 3rd in the 200 Grand Sert event was 5th in
the 200 as well.
Today, it was a win as well for Mallory Mies as mentioned in the 1600 run, a time of
552, 96.
Abby Tisdale of the Chieftains, 2nd in the 400 and also today Gretchen Buchholz, first
in the high jump, Kayleigh Carter, first in the pole vault, Haley Schneider took 4th in
the long jump and first in triple jump.
It was also Olivia Mies taking 2nd in the 800 run.
Looking at Hethic-Oweston, again also involved today at the Riverdale invitational, it was
Clayton Lee taking first in the 1600 with a time of 439, 99.
And it was Balthesard Kaiser finishing 3rd in the 400 for Hethic-Oweston.
Sam Jones, a sophomore for Hethic-Oweston, finished first in the 800 with a time of 217-18,
while John Hesh was 2nd for Hethic-Oweston.
Clayton Lee took first in the 3200, a time of 1108-47 today, it was a good day for a
track meet at Riverdale, Deakin Nagano was 3rd in the discus, and Haley King of Hethic-Oweston
finished 2nd in Shotput.
Milwaukee Brewer, right-hander Craig Yeoho has been sent to the minor leagues two days
after he walked four batters and allowed five runs in an inning of relief.
The Brewer sent Yeoho to triple A Nashville and called up right-hander Elvin Rodriguez
before today's game with the Cubs.
Brewer's manager Pat Murphy says Yeoho remains a big part of the future, Yeoho possesses
an outstanding change-up that enabled him to dominate in the minors, but he wasn't
able to carry that over to the big leagues, he has a 953 ERA in five relief appearances.
Milwaukee's Pat Murphy and the Cubs Craig Council have a friendship that goes back well
over three decades, that wasn't going to end now that they're actually division rivals.
Counsel Murphy had worked together in some capacity for much of the last 35 years or so before
Council left his job as Milwaukee's manager to become the Cubs skipper after the 2023
season.
Murphy became the Brewer's manager.
Murphy had been the bench coach on Council's Milwaukee staff from 2016 through 2023.
The Brewer is hoping for better things tonight.

Boston Red Sox first baseman Tristan Cossus suffered a ruptured tendon in his left knee
and is out for the remainder of the season.
The team said today that the 25-year-old ruptured his Patelor tendon running to first base
on a slow roll or up the line and fell awkwardly in Boston's victory over the Minnesota twins
last night.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Damien Lillard had surgery to repair the left Achilles tendon.
He tore Sunday in a playoff loss to the Pacers.
The Bucks said Dr. Neil El Tashre performed the surgery in Los Angeles with consultation
from team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Carol Vetter.
Lillard got injured midway through the first quarter of the Bucks loss in game four of
their first round playoff series with the Pacers.
The Bucks announced the severity of Lillard's injury on Monday.
The Bucks played without even game five on Tuesday as the season ended with a 119-118
overtime loss at Indiana.
