Good morning, time to take a look at sports for your Saturday from WRCOM, I'm Adam Hess.
The Harnett Girl Soccer team made the trek to Galena, Illinois Friday night for their
first conference matchup of the season, and they fell to nothing in a very physical game.
Harnett's defense was led by Bren Anderson, Ella Stadler, Ren Wilson, Sylvie Ishmit and
Mariah Obday, and they kept scoring to a minimum with their offside traps and stellar hustle
to clear the ball away from the attacking forwards.
Keeper Lilly Tidrick recorded 11 saves, the Harnett's were able to get some shots on
goal, but just couldn't connect with the back of the net.
Coach Fink is proud of the team on how they handled the physical game with the utmost
respect.
The Harnett's next action is their home opener next Tuesday against River Valley.
One other soccer score from last night reads Bergogerman Role, 9 to nothing.
Last night in conference, baseball action was SWC action, Lancaster and Richland Center
battled and Philney filed this report.
Lancaster opened the Southwest Wisconsin Conference baseball season with a three-nothing win at Richland
Center Friday night.
The hero scored two runs in the second inning on a two-out hit by Tyler Terramon.
The score did not change until the visitors added an insurance run in the seventh.
The Harnett senior Jacob McDonald started pitching and left in the fifth inning.
He struck out six and walked two while giving up just two hits.
Freshman Finn Lemke came on in relief and struck out four batters in a row during
his two-plus innings of work.
He gave up just one hit.
Brady Dosh, Avery McGlin and Ethan Hady all had hits for Richland Center.
Shay Lucky doubled in score for Lancaster and Tyler Terramon was one for four with two
RBI.
Nolan Wolf pitched all seven innings and got the win striking out six, walking three and
giving up three hits.
Over the arrows, they had three runs on three hits.
They committed one error and left seven runners stranded.
Richland Center was shut out on three hits.
They made four errors and left five on base.
Following the three-nothing win, Lancaster is now three and one overall and one-on-oh
in the conference.
They will play Phenomore on Tuesday.
Richland Center is now two and four and oh and one to start the league.
They will make a trip to Casanova at a face Weston on Tuesday night.
