I'm Phil Nia with sports. The Richland Center softball team won a pitcher's duel over

peccatonica, won nothing on Thursday night in Richland Center. Hornet freshman Kyrie Fisher

recorded 21 outs striking out 10 while giving up two hits over seven innings and walking two.

Senior Chloe Darling singled in the sixth to drive in the games only run. She along with

Carly Meaden, each had two hits. The Hornet defense turned one double play. Richland Center had six

hits on the day against peccatonica pitcher Diana Hendrickson who struck out six and did not walk

a better with the one nothing win. Richland Center is now one and one on the young season.

They will play Wisconsin Del's on April 8th for their next action. Peccatonica now

oh and two on the season will play at Plantville on Tuesday. Riverdale won a high scoring game

yesterday in softball 10-9 the final. Portage a victor against Readsburg 5-4. It was East

Dubuque beating Southwestern 11-4 and Fenemore over Highland. That final score was 4-3.

Today softball games include Riverdale fresh off a win yesterday taking on Royal.

De Soto is at River Ridge, Seneca at Belmont, Westby at Cashton and Readsburg at Fenemore.

Also Hillsboro plays at Verokwa Youth Initiative. Richland Hospital in conjunction with

the Richland Sports Medicine athletes of the month program and recently recognized for their

great efforts during the spring sports season but the last athletes to be recognized for winter sports

Tristan Peterson who was a senior in this year's Ithaca Girls Basketball team. A great leader on

and off the court and also Riverdale junior wrestler Grant Matthews who recently competed in

the WIA state tournament. So congratulations to Grant Matthews of Riverdale, Tristan Peterson

of Ithaca for being recognized as Richland Sports Medicine athletes of the month.

over average Scott Dilly had a 557 series 95 over average and Bodie Hila Sheen bowl to 497 95

over average during week 29 of the 32 week season in the all star bowling league.

The Brewers open the 2025 MLB season with a 4-2 loss to the Yankees yesterday

Freddie Peralta took the defeat rookie third baseman Vinnie Capra pounded his first big league

home run in the third inning. I thought it was a pretty special moment. Yeah I mean a witness

we were trying for but first first that bad to kind of what you want to do and stuck to the plan

and it kind of ended up working out so the Brewers are off today they'll resume with a new
