I'm Phil knee with W R CEO sports. The girl's softball season began yesterday for the

Richland Center softball team. The schedule got underway, even though Richland Center collected

eight hits to Highlands three. They still fell for one on Tuesday at Highland High School.

Maddie McGlin, JC Gander, Ebony McCorkle and Chloe Darling, each collected two hits for

Richland Center Highland schools led with the opening run in the first inning, Kora Healy

singled and scored the run. Kyrie Fisher started the game for Richland Center Hornet

softball. The right handed pitcher surrendered one hit and one run zero earned over three

innings, striking out four and walking three. Chloe Darling pitched three strong innings

of relief work for the Hornets. Kate Terrell began the game for Highland. The starter

gave up eight hits and one run zero earned over seven innings, striking out ten and

walking none. Ebony McCorkle led Richland Center with one run batted in. The right

handed hitter went two for three on the day and also Richland Center turned one double

play on the defensive side and a Hennessey Celia Olson and Healy also collected one hit

for Highland. Hennessey and Ava Midcheck each drove in a run. Olson paced Highland with

two walks. Overall the team had patience of the plate, amassing five walks for the

game. Again, Highland was a four one winner over Richland Center on the opening day of

the schedule. Most of the rest of the scores on the scoreboard across the state were teams

had played in warm weather states. Middle point lost to the golf coast classic three to

Wicksburg, Alabama six one and they fell ten nothing to Athens, Alabama. Cubicity was

winner over Morris town East Tennessee five to three, the final score in state River

Valley in Verocua. That game was postponed and it was a seven nothing win for Phenomore

over Peccatanica while Portage beat Ripon 15 to the SWA all conference boys basketball

teams have been announced. Middle point recently at the state tournament won the swall this

year going 13 and one. Darlington was 11 and three Southwestern ten and four. Cubicity

nine and five. Phenomore seven and seven Iowa grant four and ten. Riverdale was two
