We have a lot of sports to get to, including an update from Bill Twining at the state wrestling
tournament.
Details on an exciting basketball game heard on WRC last night and a little bit later on
more Wisconsin sports will chat about that.

The WIA State Individual Wrestling Tournament got it away on Thursday at the Cole Center
in Madison, preliminary round matches in all four divisions.
First of all, action began Thursday afternoon for the girls and division 1 boys.
For area girls, North Crawford, Seneca, sophomore, Frankie Groom, Mineral Point Jr., Delia
Collins, and Belmont Plattville Sr., Kaley Davis, all one a pair of matches to
advance to the state semi-finals, they'll all be competing tonight at seven o'clock.
Others advancing into the state semi-finals for the girls, Kylie Klum of Westby, a pair
from Black River Falls, Riley Hanrahann and Kaplan Nobich, a pair of sisters from Adam's
friendship, Lydia and Camura Hudder, and another pair of sisters from Watoma Wild
Rose, Laney, and Brindley Vaughn.
All those girls would be competing in the state semi-finals tonight at the Cole Center
in Madison.
Other girls had a difficult time, both Madeline Muller, a junior from Richland Center at Lexi
Latrop, a senior from basketball as it is toobin, were seated against top ranked wrestlers
and defending state champions in both cases, Madeline Muller lost to state champ Maddie
Peach of Milton, Lexi Latrop was defeated by state champ Madison Burns of Ashland and
both got into the consolation bracket where they are joined by Catherine McAlow's, Brooke
Wood, Marissa Klum of Westby, Olivia Ball of Lancaster, Sidonia Roman of Royal Wani
Walk Center, Ellie Lensendorf of Wani Key, Naomi Bermudo of sought prairie Wisconsin
Heights, and three girls from Prairie de Sheen, Ireland Chaitka, Rosely Cosmon, and Aspen
Gilo.
There were a number of girls that won their preliminary round match, but then lost.
They are also in the consolation bracket, including Emily Heisner of Mineral Point, Chloe LaRue
of Cubicity Benton Southwestern, Bill Monplantville's JC Davis, Amelia Sultis of Mounthor of Barnabyl,
Kid Allsaker of Wani Key, and Margaret Barrett of sought prairie Wisconsin Heights.
Two rounds of girls action today begins at 10 o'clock this morning with the consolation
and then the semi-finals tonight at seven o'clock. A brief look at the boys from the area, both
Braden Hale, to me, of freshmen, and Trainor Curtin, a senior from Readsburg, won a pair of matches
on Thursday in advance to the state semi-finals. They are joined there by these wrestlers from
the area, both Eli Meyer and Eli Leonard of Mounthor of Barnabyl, Gacklin Empe of Stoten,
Sam Zantin of Middleton, Devon Lietzel of Sparta, and Tegan Moore of Les Salem, Bangor.
On Thursday evening, there were two rounds of wrestling in both divisions, two and three,
and here's how things went. Richland Center's senior Ethan Hady, led early in his match,
but wound up losing his quarter final, 10 to 8 to Whitewater's Jarvis Portaro, Ethan Hady,
a two-time state place winner, will place again, but he's in the wrestle backs toward fifth
place, their fifth place for Richland Center. Ethical Weston was a pair of wrestlers in the
tournament, senior Nolan Waldner won by technical fall, but then lost his quarter final,
he's in the wrestle backs, where he's joined by a fellow senior catered Coleman,
who lost his opening round match on Thursday. Perfect night for the Riverdale Chiefsons,
sophomore Lakota Brewer won his quarter final, 11 to 3, he's in the semi-finals,
Junior Brody Mies won his quarter final, 10 to nothing, he will join Brewer in the semi-finals,
and Junior Grant Matthews won his quarter final by fall, he will join both Brewer and Mies
in the semi-finals at seven o'clock tonight. I have a Grant Highland 1-4 of five quarter
finals, Tyson M. Moff, Jackson Bussey, and Brody Brockoff all won by fall, Gavin Hinderman was a
tech fall winner, 15 to nothing, the only one to drop his match was Brock Hinderman, who lost
four to one to Trevor Paulson of Aquinas, and is now in the consolation bracket. Mineral point
has three in the semi-finals tonight, state champion Kate Rool, state runner-up Rowan Kerry,
and freshman Memphis Berkhalter, all won their quarter finals, they'll wrestle in the semi-finals
round tonight, the other five wrestlers from Mineral Point are in the consolation bracket,
and will wrestle this afternoon in a session that begins at one o'clock. Others in the semi-finals
tonight include Shane Richon and Hawkins Peterson of Dodgefield, Ciders and Savage and Tristan
Stealth of Phenomore, Aiden Grunenfelder and Lucas Orloff of Peck Argyle, Blake Terry and
Jack Simmons of Prairie Dishine, Seth Greeno of Disoto had a pair of wins on Thursday, he's in the
state semi-final round, along with Owen Seprude of Garley to Blackhawk, Dylan Wigel of Belmont
Blackfield, Aiden Gillon of Mauston, Nassita, and Landon Hypemyer of Portage who posted two wins
on Thursday to advance to the semi-finals. Others in the wrestle back round today from the area
include five from Mineral Point, three each for Phenomore, Landcaster and Cubicity Benton, South
Western, North Crawford, Seneca and Senior Jaren Grimsland won his opening match, then lost,
he's in the consolation bracket, along with Junior Sawyer's Swigham of North Crawford, Seneca,
Dodgefield's Red Spirley and Nathan Johnson are in the wrestle back activity, Mason Hurd and
Bryce Lensendorf of Prairie Dishine as well. Also in the consolation bracket today, wrestling
in a one-of-a-clock session, Brendan Rick of Royal-Woney Walks Center, Parker Millsna of Cashton,
Oliver Harkas of Belmont, Placfield, Espen Swears of Mauston, Nacusa, Caleb Wiseman of Adam's
Friendship, and Ross Christ of Darlington Blackhawk who lost his quarter-final last night,
15-14. There are three possible four-time state champs in this year's tournament, all won their
quarter-finals, Danny Heiser of Evansville, Koji Campbell of Kenosha St. Joseph, and for the
girls Haley Krieger of New London, they'll be competing in the semi-finals tonight. Activity at the
Coles Center, the division's one and girls will wrestle at 10 o'clock this morning in consolation,
the division's two and three in the wrestling background this afternoon at one, and all four
divisions will have their semi-finals tonight at seven o'clock at the Coles Center in Madison.

80 to 74, a shootout tonight down to 30 seconds, Jaden Sheplobs of Brady Dash, up ahead Liam goes
up for his stuff, exclamation point, horror, the Hornets, 82-74, left side, pre-trying the
draw, no good, Bosworth rebound, Richland Center ball, 12 seconds to go, and double overtime.
Taking it across the timeline is Jaden Shep, six seconds, five seconds, keeps the dribble,
Hornets get the win here and double overtime.
Richland Center boys basketball team capped off the regular season with a thrilling 82-74
double overtime winning its visiting Dodgeville. Hornets finished the regular season at 12 and 12
with back-to-back wins this week. The Dodgers led 35-30 and half time, Richland Center took several
leads down the stretch. Dodgeville tied the game at 63 with 55 seconds left in regulation and
had the ball with 15 seconds left, but failed to get a decent shot and the game went to the first
overtime. Both teams scored six in four minutes and the game went to a second overtime.
Hornets never trailed in the extra frame the second one on the way to the win. Richland
Center featured a balanced attack with Liam Fingerson leading the way. He had key baskets
at crucial points of the game and wound up with 20. West Bosworth helped out with 19.
Garrison Lys added 16 and sophomore Jaden Shep hit two critical three-pointers and wound up
with 14 as the fourth Hornet in double-figure scoring. Brady Dosh had seven,
Trayton Shep five, Kaizen Schwitzenberg one. The team was seven for 15 from the line and they made
five three-pointers. Dodgeville was led in scoring by Bryce Krubaugh Lockert with 25. John Lagraugh
added 16 and Jace Halverson made 10 points. The Dodgers made eight three-pointers in the first half
and finished the game with 12. They were eight for 12 from the line. Following the 82-74
double overtime win, Richland Center will now prepare for the WIA tournament with a game at Evansville
Tuesday night. Dodgeville will open the postseason Tuesday night against Boston. Elsewhere
last night in conference play, Plantville with a win against River Valley 82-61. And last
night landcaster was winner over Prairie Dushin 67-37. LaFarge Beatnessita 64-42. Cuba City over
Boscobel 76-41. Middle-Aul Point 66. Iowa Grant 45. It was a win for Darlington over Riverdale
80-49. Zeke Zuberbueller with 22 for Darlington. Bevan Dennis with 25 points. Seven three-pointers
for Riverdale. And Southwestern winner against Phenomore 57-47 in area Boys Basketball.
There's plenty of girls WIA tournament action tonight. We'll be on hand at Shoesburg,
the Ethical Bulldogs travel to Shoesburg in a seventh versus a second seed game. Riverage
plays at Wasika Stubin as well. It will be Kickapoo home against Cochrane Fountain City in Hillsboro
at Alievestrum. Cuba City host Parkview in Division 4. Landcaster at Middle-Aul Point
and Darlington at Bellville among the games coming up in Division 3. Prairie Dushin host
River Valley. Broadhead at Plattville in WIA girls tournament play.

They're really tall and they have some good outside shooters and they're all very aggressive

And so the key is our defense once again, our defense has to kind of set the tone and
kind of limit their opportunities and pull them down, force them really to have tough
shots and then get every board we can and make sure we get every loose ball, every
steal we can, we really got, and then on that flip side we got to really take care because
we don't want to give them any extra opportunities for them to have their offensive possessions.

Session number three of the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament gets underway this evening
at 7 o'clock at the Cole Center in Madison, it will be a semi-final round in all three
boys division and semi-finals for the girl.
We will all be wrestled at the same time at the Cole Center two mats for each division.
All eyes from Southwestern Wisconsin will be on the Riverdale Chieftains who saw all
three of their wrestlers win quarter final matches yesterday.
Grant Matthews, Brody Mies and Lakota Brewer will all be wrestling in the semi-finals tonight
at the Cole Center.
It will be a heavy mix of wrestlers from our listening area, including three from mineral
point in the semi-finals, four from Iowa Grant Highland and two from Phenomore as the
conference is being well represented.
We will go on the air tonight and have reports throughout the evening in live matches.
As we keep an eye on area wrestlers, it also includes Frankie Grum of North Croft with
Seneca and Deelia Collins of Mineral Point wrestling in the semi-finals for the girls.
Tomorrow's action and the consolation round resumes 10 o'clock in the morning and then
the championship round at 5.30 on Saturday evening at the Cole Center in Madison will have
reports on the air tonight.
