I'm Phil Lee with WRC Osports, the River Valley girls basketball team attack the Richland center
girls from long range last night on the way to a 71 37 win.
The Black Hawks were led by the senior Lexi Divini who made eight three pointers.
The team made a total of 13 from beyond the arc.
The Hornets kept it close until the latter part of the first half and Divini capped off
the first 18 minutes with a just past half court banked in buzzer beater to make the score
36-22 and half time.
The Johnson center was led in scoring by Kylie Burns with 10, Carly Mead and added
eight.
Jasmine Hazel rigged six, Reagan Shepp five, JC Gander four and Libby Rulan two.
The Hornets made one three pointer and went six four eleven from the line.
Lexi Divini's 26 led the Black Hawks scoring.
Karina Osborne had 14, Ella Meyer's 10, Bella Divini eight, Elizabeth Kastomsky five,
Heidi Hegglin four, Kalea Blakely had three.
McKenzie Woodhouse two.
The Hawks made 13, three's and went five for 12 from the line.
River Valley won the JV game 39-21 over Richland center.
The Black Hawks varsity finished the regular season at 12 and 12 and four and six in the
league.
They will open the WIA girls basketball tournament at home Tuesday night against Dodgeville.
Richland center is now two and 22 and zero and 10 in the conference.
They will travel to Broadhead for the postseason on Tuesday.
Another Southwest conference news, Lancaster beat Dodgeville 65 38 and Prairie Dushin was
a winner 53-48 over Plattville.
That means that Prairie tied the Hillman for a co-conference championship this season.
Both teams ended league play at nine and one elsewhere and girls basketball Wisconsin
Delso Vernecusa 68-22.
It was a win for a Southwestern over Riverdale last night by a score of 57 to 54.
The Cheafdens fell to 12 and 12 at the end of the regular season after the loss last
night.
Macy McKay led the Cheafdens with 25 points followed by Zuri Dennis's 12 and fellow senior guards
seven points.
The Lady Cheafdens JV team lost to Kikapu 40-35 to wrap up their season with an 11 and
10 record.
Josie Adams and Haley Schneider led the way with nine points apiece.
Grace Wannock added five points.
It was basketball over Iowa grand 66 to 60, mineral point 87 Fenemore 54, a win for
Highland over Potosi Castville 63-55, a win for Arcadia over Varroqua 53-44, New Lisbon
beat North Crawford 48-34, Nassita over 1-Ewock center 49-32, Westby 76-GET 42, Cubicini beat
Darlington 68-40.
Police basketball Hillsboro is a winner over Brookwood 72-36, Hillsboro's Miles Ravenscroft
with 37 points to lead all game scores in that action last night.
River Valley claimed victory over Prairie Dushin 56-44 on Thursday night.
Also Royal over Bangor 76-34, North Crawford beat Kikapu 87-66, Wannock center 47-46 over
Cashton and New Lisbon beat Nassita 48-39.
On tonight's area schedule, Girls Basketball features Cubicini at Southwestern, Barnavelle
at Highland, Wozika Stubin at Hillsboro, Potosi Castville at Platteville.
In Boyz Basketball, basketball at Darlington, Iowa grand at Fenemore, Riverdale at Mineral
Point, Southwestern at Cubicini, it's also action for Barnavelle at Highland, Kikapu
at DeSoto, Ithaca travels to Senaica, North Crawford at Wozika Stubin.

And WIA Girls Wrestling begins the sectional weekend tonight.
The regionals were held last week, girls that made it in the top four are headed in the
area to Prairie to Sheen this evening.
I talked this week to Richland Center head wrestling coach Silas Coleman about sectional
weekend and also about how the Hornet Boys wrestled last weekend.
I think overall just going into the tournament with having nine wrestlers and bringing out
five.
You know, that was a big thing for us is just going out in the wrestling our best, and I
talked to the boys about that that morning, and just go out there and leave everything
you got out there and see what happens at the end of the day and points and everything
you know, take care of themselves, team-wise, but just go out and give your best outfurt
and, you know, I think that kind of showed with the results that we had with having five
guys make it through.
We had a couple more that were right on the edge as well, and so I was very happy with
the day.
You had some wrestlers that really put in a long day, they had to really scratch to
get back into the tournament, didn't they?
Yeah, we had some that they lost those early rounds and they were able to come back through
and make it through.
You know, that kind of a good testament to how hard they wanted to work, and how much
they care about where they end up at the end of the season was just being able to start
that first round and maybe it doesn't go your way, but being able to make a goalie where
at the end of the day is huge.
You talk about your girls going on to the sectional this weekend.
Yes, we have Maddie Muller and Val Fobber, both of them, have been working hard this season,
tomorrow night, we're heading down to Prairie, wrestling starts down there at five o'clock,
in order we're expecting some good things out of them, and they just been putting a lot
of hard work this year, you know, at times they've had some gaps and the amount of events
that they've had, you know, between one to the other, but they just kind of kept grinding
through that time and then putting into work and it's paying off for them.

Notre Dame this weekend.
