before the championships get underway that WIA tournament next Tuesday.

Phenomore will play at Mineral Point and Darlington at Cuba City.

Also tonight in the Southwest Conference,

Dodgeville at Lancaster, Prairie Dushin at Plattville,

and Richland center at River Valley.

That's a next featured local game tonight.

We'll have the broadcast live from River Valley High School,

beginning with the Viteznik Power Sports pre-game show, around 715.

Speaking of River Valley, they're getting ready for the WIA Wrestling Tournament.

This weekend, girls action on Friday night,

and the boys wrestling will be held on Saturday this weekend.

I talked to co-head coach Dan McEvick of River Valley about his team,

beginning with the girls team, which we will well

represented this weekend at the sectional.

It was exciting to watch our girls wrestle.

We brought forward to the tournament,

and all four are moving on.

The lowest place girls were third place, so they did a fantastic job.

Montana Joel is one of the tournament,

and we made a decision to bump up Hazel Corbin to 235 this weekend too,

because of the bracket.

We thought she had a really good chance of getting out,

and ended up going in our favor,

and so Cameron Neve joined there, and so as McKenzie-Jolti.

That's good to have a good contingent,

and you look at these young women,

and they don't know it now,

but they're kind of pioneers in the sport, aren't they?

That's exactly the way we approached it last year with a few girls that we had,

and now that the middle school girls are seeing that there's a girl's team,

and that there's girls only events,

and the youth girls are getting to see them compete.

It's just been a great dynamic,

and put a lot of momentum in the river valleys,

girls wrestling, and they go to each other's events,

and they're always cheering.

I took a picture this year at the middle school event,

all of our seven girls at the high school

were sitting in the bleachers cheering on Hayden Haglan,

who's one of the main girls at the middle school,

who did a good job recruiting like cash and all,

and a few other middle school girls to join,

and they were cheering her on at the middle school event.

It's just been great to see the momentum building.

Concerning your boys' team,

leave that a rough year with injuries, have you?

Yeah, this has been one of those years.

You don't really know what to say,

and been a lot of coaches been reaching out to us,

saying, holy cow, I can't believe how many injuries you guys have had,

because at the start of the year,

we placed second at the Redsburg Duals,

and Redsburg moved on to the T-State,

and it's just impressive to watch how close our team was

when we were healthy, and then,

not that it fell apart or anything like that,

but just things happen that you can't control,

and trying to keep the kids motivated,

and my favorite thing is they all gave it a shot at regional.

Like, we brought almost our whole lineup

that we had at Redsburg Dual to the regional,

and just unfortunately, too many injuries,

hindered a few of them.

River Valley, co-head wrestling coach, Dan McEvick,

is team represented by Mackenzie Schulte,

Cameron Neef, Hazel Corbett,

and Montana Jolls at the Girls sectional,

which will be held at Prairie Dushin.

Other girl wrestlers on Prairie Night include Valerie Fauver,

and Madeline Muller from Richland Center.

They will be involved in the action,

beginning on Prairie Night,

and for Ithaca Weston, Brayella Granger,

and Kaylee Manning,

several from Kickaboo LaFarge.

In fact, six girls advancing out of Richland Center's regional last week,

Maddie Townsend, Mariana Miller, Emerson Miller,

Mara Hubley, Grace Anderson,

and Regional Champion, Laura Lai Young.

Boys wrestling gets underway at 10 o'clock at both Westby

and Wisconsin Dells,

coming up this weekend.

We'll have coverage from the Dells Division 2

and the Westby Division 3 tournaments.

Bowling scores to recap from the merchant's

bowling league, Walsh's Ace Hardware,

had a 28.92 series,

good enough, a 28.09,

Garner Farms 28.05.

Team Game Honors, Walsh's Ace Hardware at 10.66,

Goblin Insurance at 10.10,

and Granite Valley 998.

Jason Garner had the top series,

669, Andy Keller a 664, Greg Shepp had a 654.

Andy Keller and DJ Adams both rolled 246s,

JJ Clad a 245,

Greg Shepp a 241 in the merchant's bowling league.

The NBA All-Star break is over in the box open the second half of the season,

when they host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.

Superstar forward, Yana Sante de Cumpo,

is still listed as questionable for the game.

He was diagnosed with a mild left calf strain a week before the break.

Yana's tells the Atlantic this injury is similar to the one that knocked him out of last years,

NBA playoffs.

He says he wants to get it right, get it healthy,

and avoid a repeat of that.

There was one game in the NBA last night,

beginning the second half of the season.

Charlotte was a 100 to 97 winner,

over the LA Lakers.

We've learned why there was no handshake line after Wisconsin dispatched of Illinois 9574 on Tuesday

night. A line I coach Brad Underwood says his roster has been devastated by injury and illness

over the last few weeks. He didn't want a chance passing on the sickness by shaking hands.

Underwood says in his 38 years of coaching,

he's quote, never seen anything like what has been happening to his team.

Underwood says it's best to avoid spreading the Alina's team wide illness through the rest

of the big 10 conference. Last night among ranked schools, it was number one Auburn over Arkansas

67 to 60 in state men's college basketball. Steven's point of rest out 8557,

Platteville beat Whitewater 78 62, O'Clayer over Oshkosh 62 49,

and LaCrosse Pete River Falls 86 to 79.

The Packers could find themselves playing another international game in the 2025 NFL season.

They kicked off last year by meeting the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles in Brazil.

Two teams on Green Bay schedule, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers have been designated

as home teams for international games. The Packers wouldn't be giving up another of their home games.

Early indications are that they would meet the Steelers in a game played in Dublin, Ireland.

But neither the team nor the league have confirmed that.

He already put up 23 home runs for the Brewer's last season,

and William Contreras is said to be making adjustments in a search for more power.

Contreras is already one of the best hitting catchers in the national league.

He's focusing on attacking elevated pitches. He's been more selective and is now searching for

enough pop to send 30 home runs out of the park. That has Milwaukee hoping for a breakout season

for its young catcher baseball action going on today. It's good to see games on the schedule.

And in Arizona Cubs and Dodgers begin the preseason at 205. Our first Brewer broadcast available

along the network lines is coming up on Saturday afternoon. They will take air at 2 o'clock

on WRC E FM 107.7 and AM 1450. With sports, I'm Phil Ne.
