The University of Wisconsin volleyball team's season ended Sunday in the Elite 8.

For the third time this season, the number 7 and second-seated badgers were swept by

number 3 and top seed, Nebraska.

The badgers went to the final 4 last year, losing to Texas in the semi-finals.

The Long Horns won the national title by sweeping the Cornhuskers,

Wisconsin won the title in 2021.

On the other half of the bracket, Unranked Marquette was eliminated Friday 3-1

by second-ranked Penn State.

It was the third time in Marquette history they got to the sweet 16.

All four top seeds, number 1 ranked pit, number 4 Louisville, Penn State and Nebraska

are in the final 4.

They also happen to be the top 4 rated teams heading into the tournament.

The packer is scored early, then used a lockdown defense to secure a 30-13 win at Seattle

Sunday night.

Green Bay scored 14 points in the first quarter, led 20-3 at half time, and the Seahawks

never got closer than 10 points.

Jordan loved through two scoring passes to Romeo Dobbs.

One catch was made inches above the turf, and right on the back line of the end zone

to clinch the victory.

Packers defenders sack the quarter back seven times and intercepted two passes.

Jordan loved says getting off to a quick fast start was a key.

Definitely something that we've focused on all week.

We've talked about all week is it started fast, you know, something that the week before

we didn't do a good enough job on.

So I was definitely something that we focused on, and I think we did a great job of coming

up fast, putting up some touchdowns early, and defense doing a great job getting the ball

back for us.

Jordan says it's key to have a running back like Josh Jacobs.

A lot of confidence, you know, especially when he's running the ball the way he is, and

coming up with some big games right there, you know, I think when that guy's hot, you

just want to keep giving him the ball and feeding him.

And I think just his ability to stay in there and, you know, just take those hits and keep

running the way he does.

You know, it's a special player.

He says the running takes the pressure off of him and the passing game.

Definitely.

You know, whenever you're running the ball well, you know, the next stop is a defense

going to try and figure out a way to take that away and, you know, they might load the

box more, do things like that.

So anytime you can run the ball, I think it just helps set up action to and set up some

more stuff down the field.

The Packers next action is coming up on Monday night of next week against the New Orleans

Saints.

Green Bay is now 10 and four elsewhere in the NFL Sunday, Baltimore 35, the Giants 14.

Cincinnati 37 Tennessee 27 Dallas beat Carolina 30 to 14.

Houston over Miami 20 to 12 Kansas City 21 7 over Cleveland.

The Jetsby Jacksonville 32 25 Washington 20 New Orleans 19 Arizona 30 New England 17 Buffalo

48 42 over Detroit Denver 31 in theapolis 13 Philadelphia over Pittsburgh 27 13 and

Green Bay over the Chargers by final of 40 to 17 to Monday night games tonight.

The Bears at Minnesota that kicks off at seven o'clock and Atlanta and Las Vegas, that

will kick off at 7 30 this evening.

The box made it to the NBA Cup finals for the first time after beating Atlanta Saturday,

Milwaukee takes on the Oklahoma City Thunder Tuesday in Las Vegas.

Yana sounded a cumpo was one assist away from a triple double in the 110 102 decision

over the Hawks.

He had 32 points 14 rebounds and 9 assists.

The Bucks have won 10 times in their last 12 outings.

The Wisconsin men's team built a 14 point lead at halftime and held it on the way to an

83 74 victory at Butler Saturday.

That ends a three game losing streak for the Badgers.

Forward Nolan Winters scored 20 points and center Stephen Crowell chipped in 18.

The game was a part of the indie classic Wisconsin was nearly error free committing

three turnovers and nailing 25 of 27 free throws.

The Badgers next game is Sunday in the Cole Center against Detroit, Mercy.

That's an update on sports on this Monday morning.

I'm Phil me.
