Looking at basketball scores today in girls' hoops, West Salem defeated Hudson 56-46
at the UW River Falls Tournament, and in boys' basketball, Columbus over Plattville
66-61, Hillsboro 48-Soto 43, Mount Horrible over Barrow Boo 63-52, and Barnabelle was a winner
against Bellville 72-63 as well, in area boys' basketball.
On the college scene, Cam Jones scored 32 to lead number 5 Marquette to an 88-74 victory
over number 11 Wisconsin today.
The Badgers now 8-2 dropped their second straight, despite 22 points from Max Klesmit and
17 from John Blackwell.
Wisconsin led 39-37 and a half time after both teams went 11 for 25 from the field in the
first 20 minutes.
Marquette took control after the break, making its first two three pointers and taking a 53-47
lead with 15-41 to play.
The lead grew to seven on Chase Ross's layup with 13-07 remaining, forcing Wisconsin
timeout.
The goal of the Eagles took control from there, pushing the lead to 15 points after
Stevie Mitchell converted a three-point play to make its 70-55 with 8-49 to play.
Wisconsin will be at number 19, Illinois, on Tuesday.
Those where it was a victory for Michigan, 85-83 over Iowa today for its seventh straight
win.
It was a big victory on the Big Ten scene today, and Nick Martinelli scored 27, including
seven and over time, Northwestern beat number 19, Illinois, 70-66 last night.
Brooks Barnheiser added 17 and Jalen Leech 16, as the Wildcats overcame a 10-point deficit.
Like we know, actually scored 19 in the action last night, and it was a 76-57 win over Miami
of Ohio for Indiana in Big Ten play.
Michigan State over Nebraska, 89-52 today, and Ohio State top Rutgers, 80-66.
College football tonight, it's an Oregon taking on Penn State in a game that will kick
off at seven o'clock this evening.
Number two Wisconsin volleyball team shared the offensive wealth as the team bounced back
after a set one loss to beat the number seven seed Georgia Tech, 25-27, 25-20, 25-23,
25-21 in the second round of the NCAA tournament last night at the fieldhouse.
Sarah Franklin tallied 20 kills on the night with three of the kills coming in the final
three points of the match.
On a smirk added 13, Carter Booth rounded out double figure kills with 10.

of his ankles.
Middleton entered Friday night's game midway through the first quarter and finished with
11 points, five assists and three rebounds in 23 minutes.
The Bucks lost the game 1-11 105 to the Celtics.
