The Ithaca Bulldogs will host Royal tonight in WIA sectional semi-final volleyball.
Coach Angie Young of Ithaca talked about the team's hard-fought victories this year over
Seneca.
That was a very exciting, very intense game from start to finish.
I was really grateful that Seneca has been such a great competitor to this season.
That was our third I-set game with this season.
They have really pushed us to just say better and be better out there and they absolutely
brought their games better tonight.
So it was a real showdown.
Angie says the team has driiled an tournament very early in the season.
Yeah, it's kind of funny because it would have been the beginning of September.
We played them in a tournament at Richland Center and it's not that long ago, but the amount
of teams that occur within these teams during that time because you're playing so much
after that is crazy.
I do know that we can't expect them to bring a strong attacking game.
They also have some aggressive servers.
So I think we'll have to really be on our toes in that back row again and really working
on our passing game.
I think Royal has come on strong here at the end of the season again.
So definitely want to make sure that we are playing a very aggressive game all around.
I'm really hoping we have some playing a very aggressive offensive game.
Our front row has been attacking very aggressively and that is something we absolutely have to
do to win the game.
Angie says they always focus on one aspect of the game.
And serve receive is honestly something that we work on every single day.
So it is, we have always believed very strongly that serve receive is where it starts for us
and that is something our back row works.
Our entire team works every single day in practice.
So we will be relying on our back row players to get those passes up and get them to our
center and hopefully set up for a strong attack.
The Bulldogs and Royal coming up tonight on WRC OFM 100.9 and WRC.com, the pre-match time
beginning around 640.
The winner of that one will face either Gilman or Columbus Catholic in the sectional final
at Almond Bancroft coming up on Saturday night.
Bartveld is hosting Belmont today.
The winner that will emerge is going to play at Monticello against either Shabuigan Christian
or Central Wisconsin Christian division for action tonight.
Number two seed Hillsborough is playing at number one seed, mineral point, the sectional
final is scheduled for mineral point and the winner will face either Tri County or fall
river.
They're playing tonight.
And three Cuba City is playing at Aquinas and the Cusa is battling Lakonia at Portage.
The winners of those will finalize their sectional at Richland center high school on Saturday
night.
Broadhead is playing Abundant Life Christian St. Ambrose, division three and also
in division two Mount Horib is playing at Edgewood Lakeside Lutheran and Catholic Memorial
Me tonight as well with a sectional final to be played at Portage high school soccer
tonight division for action Aquinas is playing at Columbus Catholic and Cumberland against
Northland Pines.
The sectional final will be played at Arcadia coming up this weekend.
There's high school football level two of the playoffs tomorrow evening.
The ethical bulldogs are preparing for Johnson Creek.
Go ahead coach David Kling talked about the team's tough win over Randolph.
They were a little bit more physical than we thought that they would be and they're kind
of in a little bit different defense than we were kind of preparing for.
We prepared for a couple different ones but they did a different kind of defense than
we were prepared for but they played a really great game and it was very kind of back and
forth both offenses kind of driving but never really scoring much.
It was a really physical game that was kind of nice that we were able to come out on
top with that type of physical environment.
Coach Kling says playing a good physical game last week better prepares the team.
That was a great test for us because it's been a while since we've played something
that physical and for that long and like we were able to bend different times when we
didn't break and then we were able to kind of break through when we needed to the most
of those kind of nice that we were able to still be clutch even though we haven't been
in those tight games recently.

Wisconsin hit just 11 of 32 from three point range but coach Greg guard acknowledged
that they'll continue to let them fly during the season and there's a lot of room for
improvement.
Obviously we got a long ways to go defensively that's not that's not new news.
That we did some good things at times but you know as I went to the bench I thought we
got leaky and different areas and it shows me who's more ready than others.
John Tanya talked about the game yeah for sure I think that's something we all kind of
expected going into this this game first game of the year coaches need a look from everyone
you know we want to see what guys can do and where we can where we can fit in as a team
for down the line and now we got some film and we can learn with the win.

took the court for Wednesday's practice and quote did a lot to get ready for a return.

River says he has no timeline for getting Middleton back into action.
