Kickapoo passed the first test of the WIA volleyball tournament
with a sweep of the Riverdale Chieftains.
The scores Tuesday night were 25 13, 25 14 and 25 14.
The Panthers never trailed in any of the sets on the way to
improving to 15 and nine.
Harmony Wenger, a senior led Kickapoo on the night,
including seven kills in the third and final set.
Senior Gwen Fredrickson had nine kills and an ace during the match
and sophomore Annabelle Oliver led the way with great sets.
Kickapoo will play at Brookwood on Thursday night in the second round of the
tournament.
The Falcons had a first round by coach Amy Mathes says her team has been
looking and improving.
We've had to actually a pretty good season.
It didn't turn out exactly as we had hoped.
We were third in our conference.
So we wanted to be first, of course, everybody does.
But we just didn't quite make it.
We were close, but we just didn't quite get there.
I know that you had a good battle down the stretch with Seneca and
Ithaca.
It looked like the conference was pretty competitive this year, wasn't it?
Yeah, it was.
And I think overall volleyball has become a super competitive sport.
And it's just such a popular sport right now that people are really
putting in the time outside of the season to get better.
And that makes everything competitive all the way around.
Kickapoo season continues on Thursday night for Riverdale.
Their year ends, seniors that played their final high school volleyball match
include Kennedy Kui, Zuri Dennis, Kira Prohaska and Chloe Franklin.
The Chiefs and final season record is three and 19 elsewhere in division four.
It was phenomenal.

Southwestern got the victory against River Ridge in four Wisconsin Heights
advances to play mineral point in Southwestern.

In division five last night, North Crawford advanced after a three sets to
an unwind against LaFarge Youth Initiative.
North Crawford will play at Ithaca coming up on Thursday night.

Providence and will next play Sena Ka.
Wasika Stuban with a victory against Weston three sets to one.
They advanced to play Highland.
Potosi was a winner against Casville three sets to one.
Our guy will sweat Benton Monticello three nothing over Judah and the Black Hawk
was winner over Albany three sets to two in D five.
In division three, Richland center now knows who it will play in the opening match
of the season for the postseason.
Luther was a winner three sets to none over Prairie Ducine.
So Luther a fifth seed plays at fourth seed at Richland center.
It should be a good match.

The Brewers have made a change at hitting coach with Al above and Eric Thieson getting
promoted from the triple a affiliate Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold
announced the moves on Monday.
LeBuff will have the title of lead hitting coach while Thieson will be on Milwaukee staff
as a hitting coach.
They work together this year as they hitting coaches for triple a Nashville Conor Dawson
and Aussie Timmons had been Milwaukee's co-hitting coaches.
