The Riverdale runners had a great day at the DeSoto Pirate Cross Country Invitational last
week, but all but one, the runners meddling for the meat of the race began today with
the middle school teams racing concurrently for the girls team, Lexi Baumkamp finished
in first place with a time of 12-15.
He was followed by Hadley Wilkinson in third, Rose Schramm in eighth, Olivia Matthews
9th, Clark Jillson finished in fourth place with a time of 11-43, followed by Mark Wilkie
in 17th.
Lakota Brewer led the boys' team to their fourth consecutive Pirate Nation Championship
by winning the race in a time of 20.08 next was Wyatt Schramm 4th, 21-09, and Hunter
Wilkinson 5th at 21-31.
Carson Knight was 6th, Caleb Sleyline with a 21-51 in seventh place, and James Schramm
finished 9th.
The high school girls finished the afternoon with a perfect score of 15, winning for the
second year in a row.
With each of the Riverdale girls finishing in the top 10, Mallory Mies finished in second
place with a time of 25-23, followed by Melanie Williamson 3rd, with a time of 26-18,
Haley Carter 5th, with a time of 29-13, Megan Krell with a time of 32-05, and Riley
Leith 32-17.
The extraction for the Riverdale runners will be the River Ridge Invitational on Tuesday,
October 8th, with a 4 o'clock start time.
That Pirate Nation event went on today in DeSoto and Readsburg hosted a cross-country
event today.
For the River Valley boys, they finished 6th, among the teams, Baraboo was the number
1 team, and for the women's results, Evansville was first, River Valley was 5th.
For the boys' runners, Jackson Fatcher, River Valley was 23rd overall, Bryce Ferguson
37th, Nate Hamilton 46th, Dylan Kane was 70th, Isaac Limick 71, and Bennett Woodhouse was
73.
For the River Valley girls, Braille Grant was a second place runner, following Katie
Field of Royal, who won the event, with a time of 20-24, Braille Grant with a time of
21-13, finished 2nd, Molly Moss of River Valley was 4th, Evelyn Tripolin 39th, Lucy Spawn
was 48th, and Reagan 2nd was 59th at the Readsburg Invitational.
