Former Badger's linebacker Maima Jong Mehta has made the cut and is listed on the Bengals
53 man roster.
Jong Mehta signed with Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent.
He made 29 tackles during the teams 3 preseason games with 2 past deflections and some impressive
work on special teams.
He was one of the best performers on the Badger's defense as a junior.
Jong Mehta's performance did slide back a bit last season or he likely would have been
drafted.
Milwaukee Brewer's outfielder Christian Yellich says his back issues had started bothering
him off the field as well as on it by the time he opted to undergo season ending surgery.
The 2018 NL MVP spoke to reporters Tuesday for the first time since having surgery, August
16th, Yellich said it was to the point where daily living sucked by the time he decided
to have surgery.
The Brewer's have expressed optimism Yellich will be ready for the start of the 2025 season.
Yellich says he feels encouraged by how his body has responded to the surgery thus far.
In national news, NFL owners have approved a rule allowing private equity investors
in their teams.
They voted to let certain league sanction firms buy up a stake of up to 10% in the 32
franchises they are steadily soaring in value.
The previously prohibited practice was studied for the past 5 years.
During that time, the Denver Broncos sold for $4.65 billion and the Washington Commanders
went for $6.05 billion.
The NFL took this vote at a special meeting in Minnesota.
It fed a three standalone funds and one consortium of five firms as the only allowable investors.
Now that CD-LAM has a contract that could keep him with the Dallas Cowboys through
$2,028, the all pro receiver is ready for the peace of mind that quarterback Dak Prescott
will be with him.
LAM went through the team's light workout Tuesday night, a few hours after signing the $136
million for your extension that ended his month long holdout.
Prescott is going into the final season of the club record $160 million for your deal

Lots of teams from around the state, including Alaska, Arcadia, Ashland, Bangor, Black River Falls,
Boschabell, Brookwood, Central, along with Cuba City, Cumberland, Fall Creek, and GET,
Green Bay Preble, Hillsboro, Iowa Grant, Lady Smith, Mineral Point, Northwestern,
Pittsville, Sparta, Stratford, Webster, and Westby. That goes on today and tomorrow as well.
Also, football hits weekend number two this weekend, River Valley will play its first game
of the varsity football campaign. After having its game against Reedsburg cancelled,
Cohen coach Dan McEvick, River Valley, talked about that this week.
It definitely wasn't an unfortunate thing and sometimes stuff happens that you can't control
and everyone involved, you know, has heard about it and it's been the tough situation for our
kids knowing we lost the game, but we're moving forward. One week at a time is the mentality that we're
really trying to implement as cliche as it is, but this week is over and now we're onto Wisconsin
Delta. And what did they do last week when they didn't have a game?
We debated on whether watching the live stream in the school's theater on the big stream
together and get some pizza and then some of the kids said, well, we'd really like to go watch
the game in the delts. So we organized all the resources we possibly could at one o'clock in the
afternoon because we still thought we were going to play a game against somebody until the morning
and we got everyone together and we went to Wisconsin Delta to watch them play against Portage.
River Valley prepares for Wisconsin Delts coming up during weekend number two of the high
school football season. That's Friday night at seven o'clock. The Richland Center Ithaca
Cross Country team will be in action for the first time this weekend at Cashton. It's always
good meet, according to coach Eric Mendem. It is. That'll be our first test of the year. It's a fun
course. It's not the most challenging one we run, but it's a good one to get our feet wet and
get the season started on. So we'll get to face some of the lacrosse rounding schools up there
and it's always a good test for us. When school starts, you kind of hit the ground running,
literally, don't you? Yeah. We have, you know, mead starting in Verokua and
Boscowbell a couple times and a huge one in River Valley. That's always one of the biggest races
of the year just in terms of competition and size. So yeah, a lot of good tests early in the season.
They spread out a little bit as the meads start to mean more down the stretch of the season.
But yeah, it'll be great to hear what school they get started to hit the road, get on the bus,
and go see some different meads. In the conference, you mentioned a couple of schools,
but the lofty goals to try and beat some of the teams that seem to be not going on the door
if not going to state every year, right? Yeah, on the girls side, Lancaster and Dodgedville
Minor Point are always fighting it out. We've made strides against some of the other conference
schools on the girls side the last few years. So we're hoping to kind of fend off some of the
other schools and keep trying to climb that ladder. For the boys team, Dodgedville Minor Point,
we feel like is the only team that stands between us and a chance to win to win the conference.
So they're bringing back six of their seven varsity runners. We know it's going to be a great test,
but if they're going to be the best, we've got to beat the best. And so we're excited about the
challenge. The coach of the Richland Center Ithaca Cross Country team, Eric Mindham and the
Richland Center High School soccer team will see its first taste of action on Thursday.
They'll be taking on Wisconsin Heights at Wisconsin Heights. Coach Tom Sadler's team will
return home for the scrimmage on Saturday against the alumni legends, which will get underway at
11 o'clock at Richland Center High School. Quail Run had its men's golf league last night. We can
number eight or week number 18 of 20 Pat Keegan at the top score of 37, including a birdie on hole
Josh Koi with a 38, including a birdie on hole three. Joe Halverson and Jared McDonald,
along with Ryan Pockstedt, all had 39s. Joe birdied hole two, Jared hole eight and Ryan with a
birdie on hole six and hole eight. Aaron Halverson had a 40 as did Rich Baroncott, Rich had a birdie
on hole eight. Other golfers with holes played under par Chris Fink with a birdie on hole one,
Max Gassel with a birdie on hole two. Tony Doherty, birdied hole two as did Jake Kaloi, birdies on
hole eight came from Dan Prohaska, Andy Marshall, JJ Klatt and Steve Swassina, the flag prize winners,
Jared McDonald, longest drive in the fairway on hole one, Burl Jones closest to the pin on hole three,
JJ Klatt with the longest put on hole five, Jeff Jalenek with the closest to the pin on hole seven
and Pat Keegan, closest second shot on hole nine. This weekend of the second half of the season,
which would normally have had a single team to clear the winner of the half. There are five
teams that can mathematically take first place, but because there are 11 golfers that need to finish
their matches this week, a winner cannot be determined until those matches are completed.

you know all-star type pitcher and you know he gave them what he could and he's tough to like
add on against because of stuff moves around really good. The Brewers get back at it tonight.

It's a big loss. It's tough. You know, a guy in his senior year that has been through so many
things and has meant so much to us, obviously over his time here, but even in this off season,
you know, an our ability to continue to grow and do the things we want to do and, you know, kind of
put guys and leadership roles and he's done an unbelievable job and fired up and ready to go.
And, you know, the unfortunate thing happens and now who being a little bit of a different
role for us this year, I don't know that we'll have a chance to get him back.
