Coming off an epic three game sweep of the Braves in Atlanta, during which Milwaukee
scored 34 runs on 52 hits, the Brewers returned to American Family Field last night and
immediately picked up where they left off in Atlanta.
The Brewers jumped in front early, scoring 8 runs on 7 hits in the first three innings,
and they cruised the rest of the way, passing Cincinnati Reds 8-3.

A Southern California bookie who took thousands of dollars in sports bets from the former
interpreter for baseball star Shoui Otani pleaded guilty to running an illegal gambling business.
Matthew Boyer entered the plea deal in federal court in Santa Ana, California on Friday.
He's also pleaded guilty to money laundering and subscribing a false tax return.
He's due to be sentenced February 7, federal prosecutors contend that Boyer ran an illegal
gambling business for at least five years in Southern Cal and Las Vegas and that he took
wagers from more than 700 bettors, including Otani's former interpreter, IP Mousahara.
Atlanta rookie Michael Penix Jr. completed nine of 16 passes for 104 yards and the Falcons
20 to 13 lost to Miami last night in preseason opener for both teams.
Penix, the former Washington star drafted eighth overall, started and played the first
five drives.
He connected with receiver Chris Blair on a 41 yard pass down the sideline, midway through
the first quarter, that was his longest completion.
Penix directed two drives that ended in scores.

Given a second chance after a Baltimore fumble, Jake Elliott made a 49 yard field goal as

The night Noah Liles won the bronze medal in the 200 meters, his coach said the sprinter
had a 102 degree fever.
It's what made that medal in his last sprint at the pair of Olympics, all the more impressive
to Lance Brownman who described the sprinter's condition in his future interview in the
associated press.
Liles tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday and he finished third in Thursday's final
behind Buswana's Let's-Sile Tobago and American teammate Kenneth Bignarek.
Liles was back at the track Friday night wearing a protective mask while accepting his
medal.
Brownman says he expects Liles to compete again in the 2028 games.
Atheopian runner Camaret Tola won the men's marathon at the Paris Olympics to end Kenya's
dominance of that sport.
Tola finished in an Olympic record time of 2 hours, 6 minutes and 26 seconds, Belgium's
Bashir Abdi finished 21 seconds behind and Benson Kip Rudo took the bronze for Kenya
34 seconds out.
Two time defending champion Elliott Kip Chogo struggled throughout and he was more than
8 minutes behind Tola at the 30 kilometer mark and he didn't even finish the race.
The last non-Kenyan to win was Ugandan Steven Kipertich at the London Games in 2012.
Bull Haasler shot a 10 under 60 on Friday in the rain delayed windom championship squandering
a chance for a sub-60 round with powers on the last three holes at soft and vulnerable
said field country club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Haasler had a two-stroke lead over Billy Horsel in the tournament that started a day
late after heavy rain and wind from tropical storm Debbie washed out play Thursday.
Play was also delayed Friday with Horsel among the 66 afternoon starters unable to finish
