I'm Phil Neve for WRC Osports. River Valley won a high school softball game over Richland

center 10-6 last night. The Black Hawk scored three in the first and two in the third innings

and never trailed. The Hornets would score three runs in the fourth and got within five

to three. The Black Hawk's put five on the board in the fifth and held off the Hornets

who added three in the sixth inning. The game was played with occasional light rain and

finished just as a thunderstorm was moving into the spring green area.

Tessa Schluter was the winning pitcher after giving up six Hornet hits,

walking three and not striking out a batter. Richland center's Abigail Williams was two for

three with a triple Riley Schultz doubled twice and had two RBIs.

Ebony McCorkle had two RBIs. Carly Meadon scored twice and Kaylee knee had a hit for the Hornets

who fell to two and eight overall zero and six in the Southwest Conference.

River Valley's Tessa Schluter helped her pitching cause going two for two with a double.

Hannah Hegglin was two for three with a walk. Brooklyn Stokes two for five with two scored.

Hayley Williams had a double. Lydia Willoughby and Leah Makarowski each had RBIs.

Ella Hillbrand had two RBIs and two hits and Kenley struck a single and scored.

With the 10-6 win, River Valley is now nine and nine overall, five and two in the league.

They have a makeup game with rival Dodgeville today at four. Richland center will make up a game

today at Lancaster. In other action from softball last night,

a win for Highland over Benton Schultzberg for three and nine innings,

Prairie Douchine seven Lancaster three, Dodgeville nine, Plattville four, Aquinas four,

three over Analaska and Holman Beat lacrosse Logan by a final score of four three.

In baseball, the Riverdale Cheapton's got a huge pitching performance from junior

right-hander Chase Chitwood on Tuesday night to down Phenomore by the score of two to one.

Chase would pitch a complete game giving up just three hits while striking out seven and walking

none. Andre Tander would deliver a clutch RBI double in the game to help the Cheapton's raise

the record to seven and three in the conference and nine and six overall. The ethical bulldogs

shut out Kikapoo in five innings ten nothing. Micah Salisbury had three hits.

Mac Nief and Wyatt Hilby each had two hits to RBIs for Matt Kepler and Micah Salisbury

led the way for the victory for pitcher Devon Eim who worked the five innings for the bulldogs

yesterday giving up three hits and striking out six without walking a batter. The bulldogs with

their 14th win of the year in that victory yesterday. The bulldogs picked up their 15th win of the
