Well, hopefully everybody is going to be dealing with that in their own way.
I know it is really tough.
I'm like a pretty allergic guy to this stuff.
So I hope I don't start to sneeze, but I just like, you know.
did my little pretend cough there.
But hey, we've got a lot of things happening here in Hancock.
And the city of Hancock would like to congratulate Fine Line Tire and wish them a happy anniversary.
Congratulations on 42 years of service.
right here in the city of Hancock and their Houghton business as well.
So congratulations to Fine Line Tire.
We'd also like to thank or congratulate the 68th annual International Frisbee Tournament winners.
And that congratulations goes out to the city of Hancock's own shuttle bop way to go for winning this year's tournament.
So I know that there's a lot of other
lines there of congratulations, but we're gonna just congratulate Shottlebop.
They did a really great job.
What a great tournament they had at the driving park this past weekend.
So way to go on all of those great achievements.
Over at the driving park with the 68th Annual International Frisbee Tournament, congratulations once again to Shottlebop for winning this year's tournament.
We can all get in shape right on Quincy Green this summer with outdoor functional

And if you believe in keeping your money local and supporting local businesses, this is how you do it.
And our farmers and our cottage industry, folks, those are truly our local businesses.
So if you believe in that, go to your local markets.
There's markets all throughout our area here, but our Hancock Thursday market is all new under new management.
It is really a great experience.
So if you've not been over there on a Thursday yet, get on over to
the all-new Hancock Thursday markets farmers market on Thursday from 2 until 6 p.m.. We also have our Saturday market with the canal run this year or this Saturday It's going to be a little bit different.
I believe they're going to be up on the upper tier of by the Hancock
community hub.
So get out there, support our local businesses with our farmers market, the all new Hancock Thursday Farmers Market tomorrow from 2 until 6 p.m.
And that is every Thursday through October.
We also love celebrating the arts here in Hancock.
And there's a couple of new exhibits or actually a new exhibit.
called Copper and Gold in Silver, a new photography exhibit by Dan Beers and Tim Renkin.
That's on display at the Carriage Gallery.
until July 31st.
Everyone is welcome to get on over to the Copper Country Community Arts Center, whether the gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 11 until six, and Saturday, 10 until two.
So we also have the fourth annual Folk School at Midsummer Exhibition on display at the Finlandia Art Gallery, and that's at the Finnish American Heritage Center, and that's through August 19th.
You got a little more time to go get on over to the
Heritage Center to go and check that out.
But this exhibit displays work by 25 students and instructors of the Finnish American Folk School.
So both of these shows are really amazing.
So take the time, support our local artists and our art galleries here in town.
We really love
our art here in Hancock.
The Cannell Rock Summer Music Concert Series is taking a little break this Friday.
And because of, guess what?
Key ingredients is coming on Fridays.
So we're going to take a little break from the Cannell Rock Summer Music Concert Series.
We had a great time with Bling Crosby this past Friday.
But we'll be back July 24th with Uncle Pete's Red Hot Review from Six Until Nine at Porvo Park right here in downtown

But we are just talking about the key ingredients.
It's the 10th annual key ingredients.
This Friday, July 17th from 6 until 8 p.m., where you'll get a taste of the Hancock food scene.
and live music along Quincy Street with our summertime street fair celebrating the city of Hancock and the 51st annual canal run.
This year we'll have Blaine Crosby, Uncle Pete's Red Hot Review and Rewind will be a part of our three bands that we're going to have three bands in one night.
So that is Blaine Crosby, Uncle Pete's Red Hot Review and Rewind all at the same time.
So
Get out there find your favorite bands from 6 until 8 p.m.
What a great way to kick off a race weekend right here in Hancock We'll have musicians and entertainers up and down Quincy Street this year.
We have bouncy houses.
That's a fundraiser for the Keweenaw Cape They'll be on Quincy Green along with Rewind and you can register to Get involved in Canal Run as well.
So there's a party going on in
in Hancock on Friday evening, six until 8pm.
I know there's a forecast a little bit of some rain.
I'm not sure what the percentages are.
Do we know what those are, Sam?
Well, I don't have the weather up.
Well, we can get that up probably pretty quick.
I mean, rain would be very welcome.
Well, yeah, I suppose it will, but maybe on another day.
So anyway, we're hoping that we're going to be able to get this off.
I know it's smoking out there now, but we're hoping that we're going to be able to have less raindrops on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
We kind of were in that similar situation last year

Okay, let's cross our fingers and we can keep those percentages low.
And we're going to have a great event.
This is a really awesome street fair.
We're going to have a great party up and down that goes from La Cantina from our 100 block where we're going to have Blaine Crosby all the way down to Dakota Street and Kiwana Co-op.
We're going to have Uncle Pete's Red Hot Review with Rewind.
right in the middle on Quincy Green.
So musicians up and down Quincy Street, we can't wait to have this wonderful street fair.
We hope everyone is able to come out and party with us.
Then we have on Tuesday, July 21st, we have Heads Up.
Well,
a youth well-being event.
This invites all fifth and eighth graders to learn about physical health, mindfulness, and nutrition through engaging hands-on activities, games, and a friendly cooking competition right on Quincy Green.
So that is Tuesday, July 21st from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m.
And if you are interested in having one of your fifth or your eighth graders
or actually fifth to eighth graders go to Copper Shores website and you can register there and it's just put in heads up a youth well-being event and this is also hosted by UP Health System Portage.
So thank you to both of those organizations.
The Hancock City Council is now accepting petitions for four at-large vacancies.
These are four-year terms.
They are due at Hancock City Hall on August 4th at 4 p.m.
These are for being it on the ballot for the November election.
So if you're interested in being part of the Hancock City Council, this is a great way to get on board.
And these are at-large vacancies.
So I know our time is now short a little bit, but guess what?

You get a taste of Hancock Food Scene and live music all along Quincy Street.
So that's our summertime street fair.
We've got three bands in one night.
That's Blaine Crosby.
They'll be down at the 100 block at the Pocket Park, Uncle Pete's Red Hot Review, down over on the west side of town.
And we've got Rewind right in the middle with tons of other music.
Great food.
These are tastings and samples of food.
So we also want to remind everybody Quincy Street will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.
on Friday.
So make a note of that.
We want no cars on Quincy Street.
So please make a mental note, no parking from 5 until 8 30.
