know, yeah, it's a little bit, but I, you know, this is kind of like what we all need.
We need that, we need that rain for our gardens, for, you know, keeping things nice and green around here.
So, so we have a little bit of rain.
I'm not sure what your radar is showing, but it looks like we might get a little bit of a drench here coming up.
I had to go run out and close my windows on my car.
I was like, oops, I think I just got, I
got the weather
warning on my phone.
So I was like ran out to get my doors or my windows closed.
But onward, on with the show, right?
It's Hancock happenings.
And we've got Game Night here tomorrow evening.
And that's every Thursday at beginning at...
beginning with Casey Bonkers.
They have their game night on Thursdays, and that's until 8 p.m.
And then you can do a hop, skip, and jump right over to New Teeny's Supper Club, grab a bite to eat.
And they're at 321 Quincy Street, where they host Trivia Night every Thursday, and that begins at 8.30.
So there's a lot of fun and games here in downtown Hancock on Thursdays.
So check that out.
And Thursday mornings, we've got Get In Shape on Quincy Green this summer, and it's with outdoor
or functional fitness classes and it's heavy on the.
fun, and you get to do some strength training for everyday living.
These sessions are designed to help you improve your stability, reduce your risk of falling, and enrich your everyday life.
Open to all fitness levels, and that's every Thursday beginning at 10 a.m., and that's from 10 until 10.45 on Quincy Green.

We've got the all new Hancock Thursday Farmers Market.
They had a fantastic market last week.
So get out over, they have got over 30 rotating vendors this year and I believe they had about 20, 22 vendors last week and they've got everything from gluten free goods, high quality bakery, sourdough,
They have herbalists, artists, fresh produce, bagels, clothing mending and quail eggs and more.
And you get, this is a great opportunity.
If you believe in spending your money locally and keeping our money here, there's no better way to do that.
But then to go to farmers markets, support our local farmers.
They are our local businesses too, and our local cottage industry.
So the word on social media is Emma's bagels are the best.
So get on over there.

There's new vendors coming out every week, so you're going to want to come and check it out.
That is Thursdays, every Thursday on Quincy Green from 2 until 6 p.m.
That is the all new Hancock Thursday Farmers Market right on Quincy Green in downtown Hancock.
We'd love to celebrate the arts in Hancock.
So at the Copper Country Community Arts Center, they have a wonderful exhibit.
It's called the Brulewood Weavers and Fiber Artists Guild Invitation.
And that's on display at the Carriage Gallery at the Copper Country Community Arts Center at 126 Quincy Street.
That display is on until July 3rd.
And I have to tell you that it was...
amazing what people can do with fiber and create art out of that fiber.
It's amazing.
So if you're interested in doing that, check them out again there.
That display is only until July 3rd, so the time is kind of creeping away on that display.
Also at the Finlandia Art Gallery, they are hosting their fourth annual folk school at mid-summer.
exhibition on display at the Finnish American Heritage Center.
And that's through August 19.
The exhibit displays work by 25 students and instructors of the Finnish American Folk School.
Again, another fantastic exhibit.

We've got so many Canal things.
Canal Rock Summer Music Concert Series is back at
Poreville Park in downtown Hancock with this Friday's performance by Split Shift.
So that is Friday, June 26th from 6 until 9 p.m.
So you can kick off your weekend by relaxing to one of your favorite local bands or kick off your shoes and dance the night away.
So that's this Friday with Split Shift and they're playing from 6 until 9 p.m.
So it looks like the weather is going to be a beaut for Friday.
So get your bring your
own chairs, bring your coolers and relax or dance the night away like we were talking about.
Johanna's summer solstice celebration was a tremendous hit and we were talking about all the dignitaries that were coming and they did make it.
So we had the ambassador from Finland and Estonia with the Chars Day Affair from Hungary and that was a historic gathering here and with all three here at one time.
They had a wonderful talk over at Hancock High School and then a lunch as well.
So we want to thank them for coming and making all that travel distance also with all of the people from all over the world.
We had people here from Norway, Ireland, Germany, Estonia.
We had folks from Scandinavia and from all over the world and all over our country.
So we want to thank everybody for coming.
Everyone had a blast.
We had a fantastic time with our bonfire and
our beach party at Hancock Beach.
We had a floating bonfire with bonfires all along the beach.
We also had rewind play and we had Dogfather when we had saunas for people to take and just dive into in the water right there on Quincy or on Hancock Beach.
So we had a blast.
We also had the Midsummer Poll Raising on Saturday and then the Wife Crane Contest, their first ever international sauna games.
And then
We also announced the newest member of the Finno-Ugur Capital of Culture, the 2027 winner is the village of Garex-Dalak, and that is in Hungary.
So congratulations to that wonderful village in Hungary.
We are pleased that they were selected for this year's Finnish-American or next year's Finnish-American.
Capital of Culture.
We also had Wolf's Head Films.
Thank them for organizing the movie Heavy Trip, which was a 2018 Finnish heavy metal comedy.
It was a hysterical movie.
And then the Michigan Air Guitar Contest, which they hosted.
It was an amazing night.
It was probably one of the funnest things I've done here in quite a long time.
So we want to thank Wolf's Head Films and the Orpheum Theatre for hosting that evening.
There were just tons of people and they were so much fun to watch all the contestants.
I will have the winner next week.
So we have a little cliffhanger there for you.
We also want to get a little bit down the road.
We want to make sure that people know that there's the 10th annual key ingredients is coming to Hancock once again where you get a taste of Hancock restaurants with live music along Quincy Street for this Street Fair celebrating the city of Hancock and Canal Run and that is on Friday, July 17th from 6 until 8 p.m.
We've got three bands featured which is Bling Crosby, Rewind and Uncle Pete's Red Hot Review.
Plus we have musicians up and down Quincy Street.
