Well, the sun is out.
I know you can see it.
You can like see a little crack of the sunshine right there.
That's right.
And so it is beautiful.
It's a little cool out.
But when that sun is out, it always feels great.
So we always like to start out like fun things here and in Hancock, including game night, which is tomorrow night.
That is Thursday nights here in Hancock.
You can join the fun at Casey Bonkers at 119 Quincy Street.
Every Thursday, they're open until 8 p.m.
So grab
grab your friends together, your family, get out there, do some board games or whatever card games you love, and you can do that over at Casey Bunkers.
And then you can swing on over to New Teeny Supper Club at 321 Quincy Street, grab a bite to eat, and do Trivia Night every Thursday, and that begins at 8.30.
They're going to be having some cool Fino-Ugric Capital of Culture and Johannes questions for this tomorrow's
trivia.
So get out over there, bone up on your Finnish American and your Johannes knowledge and answer those fun questions.
You can also get into shape on Thursday on Quincy Green this summer with outdoor functional fitness classes.
And that's heavy, syllable fun to make sure that you're training in every day for everyday living.
These sessions are designed to
help you improve your stability, reduce your risk of falling and enrich your everyday life.
So this is open to all fitness levels and there are Thursdays beginning at 10 a.m.
and it's 10 a.m.
to 10 45 a.m.
on Quincy Green and we want to thank the UP Health
Portage for hosting this event, and it's only $5 per class.

We got a great art exhibit over at the Copper Country Community Art Center.
I went to their opening reception last week.
Really awesome.
You're going to want to go and check out the Brewer Wood Weavers and Fiber Artists Guild Invitational Exhibition.
And that's it on display over at the Carriage Gallery.
And they're at 126 Quincy Street.
And that's until July 3rd.
And I'm really impressed what they can do with Fiber.
And so you're going to be impressed as well.
So go and check out that show.
We also want to thank the Copper Country Community Art Center for their community painting project that they did with the stylized CERC bird.
And that is T-S-I-R-K.
And that is the award that we received for the Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture that we received for 2020.
So it's a stylized version of that bird, but they were the ones that spearheaded it and they did a fantastic job.
Those birds are now on display up and down Quincy Street and Hancock Street and they're planted in our planters.
And they're made out of wood, but we had our community paint all of those birds.
They're all very different.
So go on out and check those out.
They're fantastic.
And they're also going to have the Cirque birds, the paper versions,
will be on display in local businesses all throughout Hancock.
So go and check those out.
Those are all painstakingly done by our community.

And that was Sapphire Dream Girl and Carrie.

Pickleball winners.
First place went to Dan Greeley.
Second place went to Justin Fila and Robert Sturris.
Sturros took third place in the Pickleball tournament.
We had a fantastic classic motor, classic car show and motorcycle show and we want to thank the Fresh Coast Classic Car Club for organizing this event.
The crowds were truly amazing.
Thank you to Bill Lepisto and the City of Hancock Fire Department, Fifth and Elm, Geno's Restaurant, Griffin Cafe, Uncle's Local Diner.
They all kept us fed.

We're going to be celebrating in the next four days.
So we want to give you like a quick rundown of all of the fun things that you can do.
We've got to the on Thursday, we've got lectures and some we actually know we do not have lectures.
I'm sorry about that.
We've got the second second Fino Ugric Open Forum, which is building
Transatlantic Bridges, and that is at the Hancock High School, and that is from 8.30 a.m.
until 3 p.m.
That is tomorrow with an evening mixer and concert at 7 at the Finnish American Heritage Center.
Friday brings just the lecture series up at Hancock High School, and that is the Finno-Ugric Day of Culture, and we've got the Ambassadors in town.
This is quite a historic event here in the city of Hancock.
I don't believe any of
whether city or in the UP or the upper Midwest has ever hosted three dignitaries.
We've got two ambassadors.
So we have the ambassador to Finland and Estonia.
And then we have the Charles de l'affaire from Hungary.
And they will all be here to help us celebrate our Finno-Ugric capital of culture and New Honus over the next couple of days.
So we've got also the Tory market and music with exhibits
at the Hancock High School as well.
And that'll be from 10 a.m.
to 6 p.m.
We've got the Beach Party and Bonfire at the Hancock Beach.
Five until...
at five through seven p.m.
We have music by Northern Star, Somie Girls, 7.30 to 10 p.m.
We've got music by Rewind.
We've got at 8 p.m.
the lighting of the bonfire and or the cocoa.
We've got an sauna expo.
We've got a beer and long drink garden and our food will be hosted by
dogfather.
So that's our Friday evening.
Saturday brings us to the Tory Market and Music and Exhibits at the Hancock High School.
That'll be from 9 until 3 p.m.
And then we have the Finno-Ukric Festival on Quincy Green.
And that'll be from 10 a.m.
to 1 p.m.
That'll feature a parade of ethnic and character costumes, which will then proceed into the Midsummer Pole Raising ceremony.
Plus we help
We're going to make the announcement of the 2027 Capital of Culture Award for the Fino Ugric.
And then we'll also have a group greeting and photo to the winner from Quincy Green.
We also have the Johannes of Fun and Games.
That'll be located on Quincy Green.
We've got the wife carrying contest.
That'll be from one until 3 p.m.
And the first ever international sauna games.
And that'll be three until 5 p.m.
And we'll also have our beer and long drink garden.
And our food vendor will once again be Dogfather.
We've got a ton of fun games and things for people to do on Quincy Green.
So we're inviting everybody to come
and play and celebrate with us on Quincy Green.
To wrap up the night, we have our Wolf's Head film events located at the Orpheum Theater, beginning at six with the free screening of Heavy Trip, a Finnish heavy metal comedy.
And then at 9 p.m., the first ever Michigan Air Guitar Exhibition.
And this is also has been now filled up.
We were looking for 15 participants, so we've got that.
And this is gonna be a super
fun show.
From seven till 10 p.m.
we have the community dance at the Finnish American Heritage Center and that's going to be a lot of fun as well.
So what a great four days we have on tap for celebrating Juhannus and our 2026 Finno-Ugric capital of culture.
We are on the world stage.
There will be people from all over the world here and we are asking everybody put out the welcome wagon for everybody and
And if you haven't watched your windows yet, you can certainly do that.
We want to make sure that the city of Hancock is shining bright for everyone to see.
It's kind of like what's going on with the World Cup right now.
Yeah, right.
It's happening here now.
Exactly.
Well, like I said, it's very rare that we're going to have the dignitaries that we are going to be having here all at the same time.
So, you know, the ambassador to Finland, the ambassador to Estonia, and the Shards Day affair from Hungary.
I've been really practicing that Shards Day affair.
