So we're going to jump into the deep end here with Hancock happenings.
And we like to have a lot of fun here in Hancock, right?
So tomorrow night is game night.
And that's every Thursday night here.
in Hancock.
So if you want to come and have some fun, then you fun you'll have at Casey Bunker's 119 Quincy Street every Thursday for game night.
And they're open late until 8 p.m.
And then New Teenies Supper Club at 321 Quincy Street hosts trivia night every Thursday.
And that begins at 8 30.
But we've got an extra special game night.
We just added

and it is you honest trivia night.
So that's going to be
tomorrow night from six until eight p.m.
and that's Thursday, June 4th.
That's tomorrow night.
That's fifth in Elm at the Orpheum Theatre.
So if you like having fun and playing games, you're in for a big treat with Johannes Trivian Knight at the Orpheum Theatre.
You get free pizza, which is a great thing, and you get a chance to win super cool part prizes.
So it's an evening of fun and trivia questions.
You get to learn a little bit more about Finno-Ugric capital of culture.
That's the designation that the city of Hancock got
And we're going to talk about the importance of that designation, not just to the city of Hancock, but to our region.
And then also we're going to talk about Johannes, which is going to be the four-day celebration of Finno-Ugric and our summer solstice here in Hancock.
And that is June 17th through the 21st.
So we had a lot of information.
We're going to have a lot of fun with Trivia Night.
And that's six until eight tomorrow night at the Fifth and Elm Orpheum.
theater here in downtown Hancock.
And that's at 426 Quincy Street.
You know, the weather is getting nicer, right?
That's right.
It's feeling like it's we're, I mean, I don't know if we go, if we have much of a spring, but it's starting to feel a little bit more like summer.
So that means that the farmers markets are coming on board.
And the first one will be this weekend, Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m.
until noon.
And that's what the the
Farmers market that's run by the Q&A market association So come on down to Quincy green and from 10 until noon and you'll be able to find those freshly grown Greens like lettuce and I think there's some bok choy that's coming out radishes scallions Any of those things that you know, we're trying to get back into eating fresh.
Well, this is the best way to do that Saturday right this Saturday
All right.
It's going to be 71 and it's going to be partly cloudy.
So it sounds like it's going to be a pretty good day to go on.
Do this.
It's going to be beautiful.
And so we've got a jam packed Saturday, actually, because it's not just the farmers market, but it's farm on the town.
And that is Saturday, June 6th as well from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m.
And that's at Sunflower Books and Coffee at 528 Quincy Street.
And that's just a block or two down Quincy Street.
And you get to go in and have a lot of fun.
kids activities with potting plants, there's a bee and tractor displays, and then there's also the big thing which kids love.
baby farm animals, and I think they have baby goats.
So if you love all that, then this is the place for you.
Farm on the Town is this Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m.
That's at Sunflower Books and Coffee right out in their parking lot.
And I'm sure they have a lot of great giveaways, and I know they have ice cream and all the things that kids love, kids of all ages.
So that's Farm on the Town this Saturday.
The All-American Circus is coming to town this Saturday as well.
That's at 7 p.m.
at the HoCo Arena, and that's at 1500 Burge Street.
So I think most of us all know where the HoCo is, but that's gonna be Circus at 7 p.m.
They've got an all-new show, and it's perfect for the whole family.
So if you want to have some pre-sale discounts, you may go and visit their website, and it's at www.allamericansircus.com.
And if you put in Hancock, I'm sure you will get your deals right there.
And also,
we're gonna be celebrating Bridge Fest.
So if we're celebrating Bridge Fest, then you know we're kicking off summer.
And you can kick that off with Kids on the Green on Friday, June 12th from 11 a.m.
to 3 p.m.
And that features Engineering Camp.
We've got our Hot Diggity Dog costume dog parade, and that's at 2 p.m.
And you have games and fun for all.
There's going to be a lot of different organizations and participants.
I think we have over 15 different organizations out there.
They're going to be making everything from slime to puppets to flying airplanes.
And so you're going to be able to do whatever you want to do with engineering camp.
And there will also be lots of games and fun for the entire family.
That is Friday, June 12th from 11 a.m.
Until 3 p.m.
We've also got the Thatcher Markham Memorial Run and that's at 7 p.m.
On Quincy Street with the Bridge Fest parade to follow And then we've got sports sports and sports on Saturday.
That is June 13th We've got pickleball tournament at the Lorne Grove at 9 a.m.
We've got the tennis tournament at Terrace Park at 9 a.m.
The Beach volleyball at Hancock Beach at 10 a.m
We've got the cribbage tournament at New Teenies at 1 p.m.

We've got also on Saturday the classic car and motorcycle show and that is at 400 Quincy Street.
We've made a little bit of a change in the
location this year, so it's more in the middle of town, right around the old DNN building for the old timers out there.
If you'd like to go and check out those wonderful vehicles, that's from 11 till 3.
We've got the Valwer's hot dog eating contest at 3 p.m.
Bling Crosby will be performing live and that's 1 until 4 p.m.
The Cornhole tournament will be from noon until 4 and that is run by and it'll be a fundraiser for the Hancock High School hockey team.
So that's a great fundraiser for them.
The beer garden will be open from noon until 11 p.m.
and that is a
fundraiser for the Hancock City Fire Department and we've got Outlawed.
That's our street dance for this year for the Bridge Fest and that is their only Western UP gig.
So if you want to see Outlawed and you don't want to drive miles and miles and miles this is what you want to do.
It is from 7 until 11 p.m.
Outlawed right at 400 Quincy Street at the back parking lot of where the old DNN building is.
So the tall green glass building that's
That's where you want to go to see Outlawed, 7-11pm.
We also have our Johannes Summer Solstice.
We are just talking about a little bit of that with our Trivia night tomorrow night.
And that is June 17th through the 21st.
We are going to be hosting at least two international ambassadors.
So the ambassador to Finland will be here and the ambassador to Estonia are both confirmed.
We are hoping that the
to Hungary will also be here as well.
So it's going to be a very big international event, lots of celebrations throughout the city of Hancock, including Wednesday, June 17th.
There will be a lecture called From Finland to Foundry, and there will be a pop-up exhibit and social at the Quincy Mine Hoist Museum, and that's on the 17th.
There will be the 4th Annual Folk School at Midsummer Exhibit at the Finlandia Art Gallery as well.
Thursday brings
of the Finno-Ugric Open Forum, which they will be deciding who the 2027 recipient of the Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture on that, during that forum, and they call that forum, Building Transatlantic Bridges.
There will also be lectures, live music, and Tory at the Hancock High School, and that'll be from 11 until 5 p.m.
All of that will be happening at the Hancock High School.
The Q and A Heritage Day, where you will be able to meet representatives from each of the region's 20
23 Cubana Heritage Sites at the Quincy Mine Hoist.
And that'll be an evening mixer at the Finlandia or the Finlandia Finnish American Heritage Center.
I'm sorry about that.
And there'll be live music as well at the Finnish American Heritage Center on Thursday evening as well.
Friday, June 19th brings more lectures, live music and torii at the high school.
The ambassadors will be doing greetings at the high school at 11 a.m.
And the beach party in Bonn
at the Hancock Beach featuring international music.
Food and Fun will be at the Hancock Beach beginning at 5 p.m.
We also have Rewind will be performing and that'll be our finale for the concert at the beach that night.
Saturday brings the Midsummer Pole Raising, Wife Carrying Contest, International Sound of Games all on Quincy Green.
There'll be a lot more games and fun on Quincy Green.
We'll also have the Beer Garden and Long Drink Arden both at the
Beach on Friday night and during the day on Saturday on Quincy Green.
We also have the Wolfshead films will be showing Heavy Trip, which is a documentary of a small-town Finnish heavy metal band who chases their dream gig in Norway, where, of course, chaos ensues.
So that'll be a fun documentary at the Orpheum Theatre that evening, and then the Michigan Air Guitar Contest will also be at the Orpheum to follow.
So you'll be able to win up to $500.
for your performance for the Michigan Errigator Contest.
And there'll be dances throughout the city of Hancock.
And we'll talk more about that next week.
We'll have a little bit more time, hopefully, to talk about all the things that we're going to be doing for the Johannes Summer Solstice celebration.
That's June 17th through the 21st.
