Stay tuned for In Our Range On The Way Next, brought to you by Westgate Nursing Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Center.

Good morning and welcome to In Our Range.

I'm your host, Mike LeBeau.

This morning we're joined by Mary Hansen, board president at Awkward Stage Drama Club here in Ironwood.

The Awkward Stage Drama Club is a non-profit organization providing theater activities for students in grades 4 through 12.

It was established in partnership and with support from the Ironwood Carnegie Library.

The Ironwood Carnegie Library and historic Ironwood Theater were instrumental in the establishment and nourishment of the club.

Now, the ASDC operates on its own as a 501C3.

Activities include learning about acting, set building, makeup, costumes, backstage management, tech, publicity, and marketing.

The club is hosting open houses on September 3rd and 8th at Zion Lutheran Church at 100 Midland Avenue in Ironwood.

The club is open to both new and returning participants, bringing together all children from across the region.

Mary Hansen is a volunteer at the Awkward Stage Drama Club.

She's an Ironwood resident and tremendous supporter of the performing arts here on the range.

Mary is a retired school psychologist and is one of the founders of the Awkward Stage Drama Club.

She's also served and volunteered at the Range Strikers Soccer Club for many years with her husband Bill and daughter Alexi.

That's where we met, right?

That's

right.

Good morning, Mary, and welcome to In Our

Range.

Good morning, Mike.

How are you doing today?

I'm fantastic.

Thank you.

Well, thanks for coming in.

Of course.

When my family and I first moved here in 2019 and I saw the Flyers for the awkward stage drama club just

so delighted by the name and the idea of it.

And I've just been excited.

I'm so glad you could come in here this morning.

Me too.

Thank you.

So with 14 years of the awkward stage drama club under your belt, what are a couple of things that really stand out for you when it comes to how this program benefits kids here on the range?

Well, I think that what first comes to mind is that when we first started this, what I noticed is that none of the school districts had a theater program in their schools.

And so that was one of the reasons that we wanted to start something so that there was an opportunity to learn about theater arts.

And then what it ended up doing was bringing those kids that were sometimes the outliers or didn't have a lot of friends that once they became a part of this group, they established the friendships they established.

Oh, I'm not the only one that kind of sticks out but has a likeness for

talking or for tech or for lighting and sound, whatever it might be.

There was a venue for them to come together and not feel like they were the outsiders.

They were their own group.

And so they could be who they were.

They felt comfortable in the group.

And so that was kind of the side benefit of that.

And now it's really become kind of the focus.

Theater can teach so much.

in so many different levels but kids can come and feel respected and supported for who they are and figure out that they're not the only ones in their schools that might be just a little bit different and it's been wonderful to watch that nurtured.

So not only do these kids get to come in and gain some skills and maybe

have an activity that they're interested in but they get to develop these skills to a deep level really nerd out on what it is that they bring to it whether it's tech or production or acting or directing and then in that they also find a safe community for themselves where they get to really develop their own character in real life not just on the stage.

When I first started back in the day and we were doing you know

hour, hour and a half productions.

There were a lot of kids in the schools that would come and participate.

And we've got into all of the costumes and the makeup and all of that.

And that a large part was due to historical and with theater who got this big grant for us.

And we were able to purchase those things.

And then they got to express themselves, build confidence in how they speak, come out of their shell, and then have

And there were some kids that you never would have expected to show up that did.

You know, sort of like high school musical, you get your sometimes the jock, right?

That comes

in and felt comfortable doing that.

And boy, we had some fun production.

So when I look back at 14 years, who's still in our community that was a part of that, the skills they learned was amazing.

Now, kids don't really know how to have a social conversation.

So working on the art of conversation, eye contact, expressing yourself verbally, not in a text with an LOL or whatever emojis that they might want.

What does it look like when you're sad?

What does it look like when you're mad?

How do you move your body?

What do you notice about what this person is doing?

So our hope is that it can perpetuate some of those skills within the schools or with their family or friends because I feel like we're getting a group of kids here that it's a lost art even to communicate.

Yeah, so working in the dramatic arts allows especially young people but really anybody Sometimes you learn so much about yourself and get to develop yourself when you're pretending to be somebody else correct and When you're learning acting and you're learning this cooperative skills of putting on a production You have to communicate and you have to communicate clearly you have to work through conflict Learn how you understand and you this club offers a safe nourishing environment for these people

kids to really come out and then add in the fact that you might get these kids from different social circles different clicks that come together and there may be some pardon the phrase awkwardness around that they find that in this group all of that stuff that might exist in the halls of the school or in a classroom or somewhere else they don't exist there and it's wonderful and then that functions as you notice you still see so many of these kids who are now adults moving through the world and

The club functions almost as a pipeline of talent into theater north and all these other things.

Exactly.

And that's where we want to, especially this year, we're pulling back a little bit in that we're going to make smaller group sizes because we do want to form those relationships better and build those skills better.

When they leave here and they're looking for a group of like minds when they're adults and they leave our community, or even if they stay at theater north, they know

where they can go to find some people that.

have that same joy, that same fun, that same outlet.

They know what to look for to find their people and then they have a stronger sense of self when they get out on their own to be able to say, okay, I feel confident about this and this is what I can provide moving forward.

Correct.

And it's not just, like you were saying, it's not just the acting part.

That is a huge part.

We want to give kids confidence to speak clearly, to

think on their feet, read body language, and we'll do that with group activities.

But there's a whole other world.

There's art in the schools, but this provides another opportunity for set design.

marketing and publicity.

You design the posters for us.

You design stuff for the Facebook page for us.

We want to move in that direction now as well.

Lighting and sound.

I think theater north just got a new light and sound system.

And wouldn't it be great to have some of our kids eventually be able to learn that?

Historic Ironwood Theater has updated their equipment.

They're looking for volunteers.

Wouldn't it be great to nurture some of our kids to be able to participate in that?

And as you are learning those skills, you're also among other people who like theater art and whatever form it is.

But yes, so.

step by step, once we moved into the 501C3 status, I was held to more of

Like we have a board of directors now and we have requirements and expectations that kind of shifted whereas before it was just kind of Mary and Lynn and Bruce kind of, oh, let's put on a production, right?

So moving forward, we're really trying to give it more of an intimate look with each age group and work on learning the skills a little bit more in depth.

And we'll look at doing workshops, not just a production, but we'll do many workshops.

Like it might be a makeup workshop.

It might be how to do an audition workshop.

Angela Burla ran an audition workshop this summer.

And what do you need to know when you go to an audition?

If you've ever auditioned for different directors at Theatre North, you know they do it differently.

Yeah.

Yeah.

you know, we want them ready for that.

Wow.

So you're not, you're not just deepening skill sets with these kids, but you're also expanding the skill sets available for these kids, which invites more kids who may not be as extroverted or wanting to be on the stage, but have these skills that they can develop while remaining true to the original mission of keeping this supportive community and allowing these kids to really be themselves.

And rather than just have, okay, here's auditions and then here's our rehearsals, you have regular club

meetings and workshops that go on regardless of whether there's a production actually in work.

That's the

vision.

That's the vision.

So Angela Burla and myself are kind of the two key leaders of this right now and doing that at least for this year because of getting used to what paperwork needs to be signed, communication with parents, making sure that these kids are all in.

as far as if you're going to participate then you need to say that you're going to participate and show up

and if

you don't then we

have to let you go.

Right.

We haven't really done that in the past.

So it's going to look a little bit different

for those that are coming back.

A little more structured, a little more, yeah.

Yes.

Expectations happen when you take that status.

Right.

And so in my head, it's kind of like a five to eight year vision before we finally get

like

the whole thing running smoothly and built to a

a bigger program, but we will offer these components as we go along.

That's why I would start as workshops.

Like it might be a one day workshop, but at least you're introduced to light and sound.

You're introduced to set design.

You're introduced to make up.

So with this rearrangement, you're not only looking to expand the group of kids, but I can imagine with all the administrative work and outreach and publicity that you could use some adult volunteers as well with that help.

Yeah, we can.

And I anybody that's

interested in doing that can certainly contact the website on the Facebook page or whatever you know it's

here reach out to you through Gmail right we'll give out later and then the Facebook page

yes I mean I want them to come in and be able to see what we're about

So come and talk to me.

Let's see what could happen.

So with that, you have these open houses coming up for people to come visit, check out the community, see whether and how they can get involved on Thursday, September 3rd and on a Tuesday, September 8th from 6 to 8 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood on Midland Avenue over there.

They'll be having a possibilities and registration opportunity

for all the kids who will be in fourth through twelfth grade in school or homeschooled and parents can come in and check out the club.

What would you like to share about that event coming up?

What can folks expect?

Well, first of all, before I say that, I do have to say like the hugest shout out to Zion Lutheran Church who has donated their space now for the last two years.

for us to have a home so that I don't have to live out of my shed and my front porch.

And so we actually have a costume area and we have a props area and we have a working area.

And then we also have a place to perform when we're ready to do a show.

So this wouldn't be happening at this level with without them.

So from six to eight and it's an open house, you don't have to be there the whole time.

You come in

We'll be there to talk about the age of your child, what the expectations are for that age group.

What I will say is that for our fifth and sixth grade group and our seventh and eighth grade group, you have to commit to both Tuesday and Thursday.

Fifth and sixth grade group will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 345 to 515.

And the seventh and eighth grade group will be from 6pm to 730pm on Tuesday and Thursday.

In order to really make this a cohesive group and form this team of people for what we're doing in the fall, you have to commit to both.

And we hope to be done.

We will be done by December 10th.

We can't tell you which production we're doing until we see how many kids.

we have in the group.

And then when we know how many we have in the group, then we'll look at the production date.

So we'll work that out with the parents.

Yes.

So there's a new structure, which also needs to go with the flow, depending on what happens.

And the commitment is an important part of that character development that we were talking about earlier.

It's the best way to ensure that everyone gets

their needs met and develop skills and then the community thrives.

I like to think of it as a team.

If you're playing on the football team or the softball team, you're required to be there for

your

practices and you can't produce a team if you're gone from every other practice.

We're going to max it out at 12 per group.

So if your kids are interested, please come and sign up because we are going to cap it at 12.

so that both Angela and I can handle the group, communicate with the group and not feel overwhelmed ourselves.

The kids are gonna have so much fun with the different games that we do while they probably won't even know that they're learning skills because

they're gonna

be have fun doing the games.

And then one of the things that I learned from this resource that I never even considered was that for every one minute that your production says it is.

So let's say it's a 45 minute.

production.

You need one hour of rehearsal.

Yeah, so if you want it to go well, you need to spend an hour on for that many minutes.

Well that's so we're looking at a 20 minute production but those that have come in the past or those that have come and seen productions, my expectation is is that you're going to be like

Oh my gosh.

They all had their lines memorized.

Their body movement was different.

They watched each other.

Their emotions matched what they were saying.

This was incredible.

That's where we want to be.

Excellent.

So I want to give that a try.

Yeah, so there's a real vision of development.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

Is there anything else you'd like to add before we get out of here

today?

No, just that

Please come and talk to us.

The sky is the limit.

If you come in and your child really wants to draw this type of stuff or learn about this, we want the ideas just as much as we want the commitment to a Tuesday, Thursday, or how are we going to do workshops?

How many people do we have doing this?

Well, then we need to do a workshop.

So even if you have been a past participant, no, you can't do the two days.

Come in anyway.

because we want to make sure that we do have something for you.

That sounds excellent.

Mary, thank you so much for joining us this morning.

Thank you, Mike.

We really appreciate it.

Good luck to you and the Awkward Stage Drama Club.

Thank you.

We really appreciate the work you do here.

Thanks, Mike.

60 yard pass, 15 yard line gets to the 30, cuts a run, looking for these off and away so they not catch you, will take it to the

distance.

He's in for the touchdown.

Let's go out to the play-by-play with Rod Helverson on WJMS.

Good afternoon football fans from Cardinal Athletic Field in Wakefield.

It's boys high school football as the North Central Jets coming to town to take on the Goodgiver minors.

I'm Rod Helverson alongside Randy Charles.

The golden voice of Randy is back for another year.

No, it's Rod with the golden voice.

Randy's just here.

Wow, Rod, I finally get to watch a game.

You've done two games already and you're just way out ahead of me there.

So yeah, good to get, maybe I'll get caught up.

I'm like, yeah, you're right.

This is my third game.

Feel like I'm in midseason already.

You are.

What the heck?

But that's kind of neat.

You got to cover all the area teams in one weekend.

Well, that's true.

That's a really neat thing.

Well, over two weeks early.

Yeah,

over two weeks.

Yeah, but it's not even Saturday yet.

So you got everything covered.

No.

Yeah.

And so far, the local teams are undefeated.

start covering soccer pretty quick I suppose.

Early with the big overtime win last night, 20 to 14 and then ironing with the big victory over Florence 51 to 52 to 15.

Congratulations to those teams.

Yeah

now if we can get the same thing on the minors tonight we'll be really good.

Yeah it should be a nice night for football early start since there's no lights at Cardinal Field and no school in North Central or

Go give it.

So they decide to play this game at five.

Well, I don't think they had a choice.

I shouldn't say decided.

Yeah, if they're going to play in the way trial, they better play either on a Saturday or early on a Friday.

And the rest better get this game moving right away.

Because the lights here don't work that well.

We got two flashlights in the side over there in the

side.

That's it.

So

everybody can hold up their cell phone and it gets that far.

But, yeah, what time does the sun go down around 7.30?

Yeah, it starts getting, the sun will go down around 7.30, but it starts getting dark about quarter to eight or so.

Right.

I checked, really, I checked that last night just to see when it started to get

dull.

It's

a little noisy press box right now.

A lot of people coming and going, yeah, we do.

It's like Grand Central Station here.

But miners, could I be dealing with some injuries and one injury?

of importance randy is the quarterback jayden barrett you know that guy was all you'd be consideration

last year he was definitely going to be big time this year being injured we don't know for sure how long he's open we're watching him beforehand we're commenting on a result thrown the ball and everything but

You said he had surgery on his left shoulder.

He was catching it well and everything like that, so he looked okay.

The only thing they're worried about is if he plays and he has contact on that shoulder until he gets clearance.

Jason and I went to that midnight scrimmage and I'll tell you what, he is the fastest guy in the team.

He just goes up and down that field so smoothly.

But that's going to be a big loss.

And then they got some other injuries that are out there.

Corey Aspenwald is not suited up tonight.

I don't think, I haven't seen his number.

He wears 23 and I have not seen 23 in the warm-ups.

But I don't see 23 on the sidelines either.

So I'm not sure if Corey is out there.

And we'll see how the game develops.

So Gygivik's going to go with

Decent quarterback, junior Bryson Lainott.

Six foot, 155 pound junior and he throws a real nice ball.

I was watching him in practice and he can air it out for 40, 45 yards and he's got the two backs are going to be Caden Haru and Henry Jenkins and those, well Jason and I went to the scrimmage last Friday and those guys got some speed and that's of course Avan football Randy has built a lot of wrong speed.

That's exactly right.

When you're missing Jaden Barrett, probably one of the fastest, if not the fastest guy in the UP.

You're missing a lot already, and you take him out of there, but you're right.

Those guys, both are you and Henry Jackson, Jenkins, excuse me, have really good speed.

We saw it last year.

They

had a lot of playing time.

That's what it's going to be.

The team has experience coming back, but they sure lost a key number of players off this minor's team from last year's.

Only eight of them.

Yeah, just eight.

Okay, never mind.

I thought it was a lot.

Seven-man football.

They only lost eight guys.

That's it.

When you look at when you look at the Jaden Verrett out with an injury and then you take out the entire offensive line That's that's what I've done.

That's key that line.

They're gone and then the running backs Mildjevic and Hollenbeck Aiden Partner now wide receiver and Matthew Schweitzer on defense Matt Schweitzer all over the field.

Oh my gosh He got to be like our just it was like a cult following for us just watching him so so

Jason, we went to a scrimmage last Friday.

Gogebic looked good.

My mindset was, okay, we know Ironwood is young and a little bit smaller, but Ironwood looked very good last night against maybe a not very good Florence team, hard to judge.

But when I saw Ironwood performing on offense, I got a better feel for the way the miners looked at that scrimmage.

I think coach Edvington Hurley had a really good point on all that.

He said that maybe after week three or week four, you can start to use comparative scores and how teams look against each other to see where teams might be.

It's really hard to tell after a scrimmage or after the first week.

Yeah.

And I guess that's why I'm a little not sure what to think of these teams yet.

I don't think Florence was that good.

They had a real tall quarterback, a good size quarterback.

He had two, six, four receivers.

But they only had one big play and that was a 64 yard touchdown pass and actually it was the running back that threw it to the quarterback and that's pretty much their office.

The game was called at the end of third quarter because Florence suited up 14 players and the only had eight left and the coach down by 35 at that point running clock just said, can we be done?

I don't want to lose any more players.

We've got conference games coming up.

So they agreed last night to end it early, which was probably I think one kid from Florence went to the hospital.

So

it's

hard to judge.

Too early to judge, isn't it?

They're here at 23 out there, but he's not suited up.

He is out there.

But he's not suited up.

Okay.

Corey is in street clothes.

You got 23

and four of both out there as captains.

Hopefully they'll be back soon.

Here's what I remember of North Central last year.

Now they lost

I think, I know they lost their quarterback, but this running back, Caden Malone, a little speech there, right?

Yeah.

Yeah, he was a little speech there.

Jason's just nodding his head.

Like, that's an understatement.

And the other guy that came in late in that game, in Vezmar last year, I think it was Pryor Levante, was another good running back.

So those guys there, those two guys, I think we're going to hear a lot about.

They don't have the positions on here.

They don't have the size on here.

All we have is names, numbers, and grades.

So, any idea who their quarterback might be?

Do you, I know you talked to

Corzinsk?

Uh, TIPCORN, Nathan TIPCORN, I believe, is quarterback senior.

Okay.

North Central doesn't really rebuild, though.

They just kind of reload.

Right, yeah.

There's

always,

there's a couple teams that do that.

So, and actually,

uh... forget it is kind of rebuilding they got kaden harry was the only starter right now from last year but they had a decent jv team and they got some size in the line a little bit uh... inexperience they moved uh... dennis elam i think he was a receiver last year i know he's some of the kicking in that norway game they're gonna move him on into the the line he's in marty's open areas he's a good size kid

So that's going to help them there.

And Felix Miller, he's been playing quite a bit.

He's a junior.

He's a six-foot, 300-pound junior.

And he's going to be the center.

He's going to be the anchor of that offensive line.

But we said this last year about Crystal Falls.

Crystal Falls had some good athletes.

But their line was suspect.

And they ended up one and eight.

Good work, Scott, some good athletes.

But their line is inexperienced this year.

Well, and the other thing that happened to Christopher last year is everybody got hurt and that's kind of what's been happening to the minors and the pre-season with all their injuries.

But hopefully they don't get any more than get some guys back here.

They've got on their roster, they've got three 300 pounders on Gugovic's roster, the 300 pound plus.

And I don't know, especially there's a carpenter, I don't know who's actually starting, we're going to find out when they get out there.

But that's not bad when you can have three guys at 300 pounds.

Yeah, I think Damien, and I heard this Damien may start at one of the guard spots.

And Felix Miller, I think, will be the senior.

I think he'll not go down and get started in line-ups.

Here, we would just do that as the game develops.

But

Randy, I haven't seen you since basketball season.

How you been?

You know what?

I've been okay.

How are you, Rod?

I've been okay.

I've seen you.

Where did we see you?

I saw you after you got back from... Oh, we did.

We did.

Girls

softball, fastball.

That's where it was.

That's right.

It wasn't bad.

We went to Marathon, didn't we?

Yeah, we did.

We did it early, too.

Memory is good, but it's kind of short.

Well, yeah.

All right, so you had a good summer and now you're ready for football.

Summer went fast.

Oh my god, didn't go fast for me

anyway.

Just flew by.

What a beautiful setting tonight.

I just love where we sit here.

Sit here at this field.

You look out at just a beautifully contoured field in great shape.

You got Sunday Lake in the background and

you

got Rod and Jason in the booth with you.

What else could you need?

The one complaint I heard so far from different people is the geese from the ducks.

They were living on this field a lot this year.

They had to get them off, for sure.

But they left something behind.

A lot of nitrogen from the soil.

So I know the miners practiced down here.

I think they came down and worked with the JV team.

junior high team and I heard that the field is well they very

well they had

to do

some raking and they did some heavy watering the last week and a half years

yes we got a straight from the the field manager okay Holly Jacobson all right yeah other than that it looks very considering the lack of rain we've had yeah it is very green so Jason how about the early game last night went into overtime

Some did like a Hurley first half and a Labino-Layano second half.

Yeah, sure was.

They would have had the momentum going into overtime but Hurley was able to pick off the first pass in overtime and then scoring when they had the ball.

So a big confidence win for them.

That was probably their toughest game of the year.

another one tough one coming up this year or this week with Phillips

yeah and in high school football they would they just keep playing overtime until there's a winner how does that work or just one overtime no you keep going okay and nothing like an overtime game when you're already like 140 miles away

from home right

yeah

I thought these games were supposed to be a closer an eight player and keep getting further I don't

know

they

traded Gransberg on the on the

Western and early on the eastern end.

Well, what we don't still have a little closer than Grandsburg, I think, but maybe not.

So they redid.

They redid the conferences, actually both conferences that were familiar with Leonel Abino, Elko, White Lake and three Lakes Phelps all joined the Hurley conference.

They kicked out who?

Athens, Flambeau and one other one.

Okay.

and then this conference here yeah this one added some yeah this one this has to be the toughest conference you know in the state I mean we say it every year and it's not going to change you know they added new teams we have the added municine dish priming and um what's the other one I can't think about municine dish priming and gosh why am I drawing my drawing again

but they put all the biggest schools in this one

And all the best ones, too, so it's quite a gauntlet.

Yes.

They call it the West and they got immunocene.

What are they doing in the western side of the conference?

Well, they're west of Sault Ste.

Marie.

That's true.

That must be why.

Yeah,

I can't think of the 13, though.

It's coming, immunocene, and gosh, why am I drawing the blank on that?

All right, we're getting set for the national anthem.

We're going to send it back to these

Station, hear a word from our sponsor.

Alright, back here in Wakefield.

We are getting set for the opening kickoff.

Beautiful day for football.

We had jet skis on the water.

We did.

They were out there running quite a while, but it looks like the north central will be kicking off.

Right away the miners get a chance to drop first blood.

I'm going to open the window, but if the wind gets too...

bad into our headsets.

I'll end up closing it because it was really windy when I don't think the wind is going to go away either.

So Randy, what who are you going to do?

Are you going to do a good pick stance?

Yeah,

I'll just follow our same routine unless you rather do it differently.

It does not matter to me.

I got north central.

All right, ball is teed up and who's back for Jenkins?

Henry Jenkins is back deep.

Fact that he's standing about the 16 yard line and it looks like number 20 Alan Hull is set to kick

off.

Oh, final Alan Hull.

Difficult

Hull though.

Or holy is holy.

It's a squibber and it's going to bounce up to 35 and roll out of bounds and I think the kids will get all in the 40 yard line and I think that's where they

slide.

Your kick goes out of bounds just beyond the 30 yard line.

Miners first in 10.

First in 10 where?

I'm sure it's 40.

I think you're right to it.

Now they're marching up to 30.

What the heck's going on here?

Why are they?

Yeah, they should get it.

I think it's up to 35.

Yeah, let's see you say it's already touched it, but nobody touched it.

No, nobody touched it.

It went out of bounds.

Well, the official was marked.

He was still standing right where it went out of bounds.

No, it's 35 yard line then.

Okay.

Well, we don't know.

That's like Mike Schwartz, Mike Schwartz senior, Budgie, Iowa.

Mike

Schwartz, Jr.

and maybe

Andrew DiGiorgio for sure and then I don't know who the fifth is.

Alright so first in 10 they spotted at the 35 yard line that's where the miners will start and it looks like Felix Miller is the starting center number 65.

Line up the quarterback and handoff goes to Jenkins for a loss of about one.

Jenkins is a 5'7", 145 pound senior.

It

looked like he had an opportunity.

It looked like an opening in the line, but by the time he got to the line, it was filled.

He's got some speed.

If he can get outside, he's fast.

He and RU both back there, they can show off some speed.

When they have not downgrading line out at all, but when they have red in there, they have the fastest

back there, so fast as many would

it be.

Lionel Lone in the shotgun sends Harju in motion.

Here's a hand up to Harju.

Turns to the corner.

He's at the 40-45.

Oh, one by the shoestring tackle.

Wow.

Harju, one guy got beat, and you're right, Randy.

It was a shoestring tackle.

That guy just reached out for something, and he caught Caden Harju by the shoelace.

But it's a pickup of 20 yards.

All right, first down for the miners inside North Central Territory.

Fall on the 46 yard line.

Give you a couple numbers here as we get them.

Carder, well that's a little wide left.

Haru and Jenkins in the slot.

Jenkins goes in motion and the line-up's going to keep it up the middle and just

like

his brother did

a couple years

ago, straight ahead, head down.

And he picks up about six yards.

It's got to be genetics.

See how he becomes from a quarterback family.

Yeah.

Picked up.

Looks like five yards.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even

now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe

six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even

now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe six even now.

Maybe

six even now.

Maybe six even now.

So it's going to be a completion or loss of about three.

Yeah, well roll backwards.

Well, luckily it did roll backwards.

Rolled away from the Japs.

The

loss of three, we'll give them on

that one.

62 is okay.

Damien and Nipnit.

I got to get that.

Nipnit?

Nipnit.

That's what they told me was problems, and I believe Dennis Elam is the other lineman was the only name I didn't really know on that whole team Are you in motion?

Why not?

The middle right off and he will get the first down north

central jet bit on the

fake handoff to hard you coming across The backfield line up faked it and kept it What do you get about ten yard game in your game another first down for the miners other first down They what this has got to make the miners feel good

You're going to get a really good team and you've got a sustained drive going here.

Just keep it going though.

Finish it off.

Now Haru will line up alongside line up in the backfield.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sometimes go to like a direct snap.

Jenkins in motion.

Quick hitter up the middle through Haru.

And he's getting the line.

He talked about the line being inexperienced right now.

They're controlling the line of scrimmage.

They're getting that quick hitter up there.

They're busting through before they have a chance to before that line has a chance to react.

He picked up a good four yards on Ellen Just on the way here 933 to go first quarter down inside

the 30 yard line

second and second and six Line up stays in the shotgun.

How are you off to his right?

Line up's gonna roll out quick pass to hard you coming on the back, you know, then Hardy is gonna pick up the first

down

6-7 yards on that pickup.

Ball was on the 29.

Where's it now?

They're

giving it a right down the 29

yard pickup.

Yeah, I

was waiting for it to see where they put it too.

First and 10 on the 20.

Mine was great to huddle.

And how are you split out as a wing back on the right?

And number

10 is, isn't that?

Why not?

Why not?

Now, in motion, Jenkins at quarterback, Jenkins going to keep it, and North Central is not fooled on that

one.

Maybe he got one yard.

Half yard or

one yard.

New

formation to try to mix things up a little bit.

27 to go here.

All on the Jets 19 yard line Miner's facing a second and nine You can see with the speed that the

miners have if they can just break that first Contact

or get around that first contact.

They've had lots of room Are you in motion and up goes to how are you

very?

When

if he's flipped on some of that duck stuff loose

Goose.

He's

lost about a yard on that one.

So brings up third and... After all, third and ten, isn't it?

Even a little more.

Yeah, maybe third and eleven.

Well, ten or eleven, you're right, though,

right?

It's a

little more than ten, but not quite eleven, so we'll call it ten or a half.

I don't think that works.

Ten and a half.

That's what they call a long ten, right?

Yeah.

Well, here's the first real big play,

the miners of...

head this game Jenkins goes in motion line up going to go up the middle did he get all of us Jets read that one tried to go off the little right side

right at the line of scrimmage it looks

like and

he lost

two

more yards on that yes

so

the miner is facing a fourth and twelve now on the Jets 22 yard line oh boy I tell you what first couple plays look pretty easy but

I would assume they'll go for it.

Jet's defense.

Skipping up here.

We might see a nice pass here, Rod.

Why not can throw it?

So I'm in practice a couple of times.

It does a nice pass.

Of course, that was with no rush, obviously.

Well, that's a little bit out wide left.

Johnson wide right.

Baxter in the slots.

Why not pass?

Incomplete.

To Haru and the Jet's defense.

Holds the minors and they will take over first in ten on their own 22 yard line When they gobbled up a bunch of that quarter,

so it's

635

left We'll see if you got those names down Rod where Rod excel so he really does I always say that I mean that whether it's basketball or football or anything Rod picks up the the opposing team that we haven't seen all year he always picks them up quickly real quickly so

That's a talent.

Jets are all in tight

where they are bunched right in there.

Going straight up the middle and that goes to number two and that is prior LeBonte.

Prior LeBonte we saw him last year in the second half of that game he looked good.

When he came in.

Yeah he got a lot of speed I remember that and I remember Caden Malone is the other speedster on this team.

Quarterback is Nathan Pipcorn.

That

number 28 is in there for the Jets.

Carter Farley.

He gets him six yards on that one run.

I gave him

five.

Whatever you gave him, that's

good.

Scoreboard says four.

I'm going with five.

Tight formation.

Handoff goes to...

Oh!

LeBonte

again and...

Adam Everson just grabbing by the foot.

There's

a quick claim to 35 yard line first down

First down for north-central and LeBonte picked up 12 yards on two carries and he almost broke that one

Yeah, you did like said Adam Everson just grabbed him by the red by

the ankle.

He was the last person had a chance at him the point goes under center Then tight formation

Hicklarn keeps it, goes right side, he's wrapped up.

Well that defensive end, that defender came up there

quick.

That was

Drew Johnson, really filled the hole nice on this side.

He came from the linebacker spot and came up there, gave him a nice pop.

Pick up of two yards, make it second and eight, ball on the Jets 37 there, line five, 16 to go first quarter.

Jets going away from the high school, heading towards the east end zone.

And they stay in that tight formation.

Two tight ends.

Two backs in tight.

Quarterback under center.

Quarterback's going to keep it.

Looking for a room on the left side.

Now it's a pitch out to Malone.

Is that Malone?

Okay, Malone, yes.

And he's going to pick up yardage, but short of the first down.

I don't know how he got around that end.

I thought they had that end sealed

off.

The

last 44

yard line.

Third down.

Pick up a five from alone.

Third two, third

and

three.

Not third and three.

The big guy at Nibbent just came off the sideline here.

And off goes up the middle and it's going to be a first down for the Jets.

Well nothing fancy here, just straight ahead.

Just trying to gain it by another two yard, about a

four

yard run

there.

He's got a Jets first down.

Not sure who carried that.

Is that number?

Is that

number two?

I think it was number two.

All I saw was a mass of humanity.

Yeah,

it jumped up so fast.

I didn't even think it was number.

Yeah, it was one of those two backs and it was two.

Yep.

I had my eye on my name.

We broke the huddle.

I could see where it was number two.

So instead of down through the jet, there's a pitch out to the loan, breaks a tackle and he's going to

get

About three yards.

Somebody on defense had a shot at him in the back.

Drew Johnson had a shot at him

about three, four yards deep, but he just made a nice little side step and went right around him.

Being

a long three on

that one.

335 to go here in the quarter.

The wind is actually behind.

Which way is the wind blowing?

Behind the jets, but they haven't passed it anyway.

Quarterback Keeper, we got a penalty flag.

We got a false start on

the flag on the flag.

Full third, second, the Jets.

So we'll all back the Jets up five yards.

Make it a second and 12.

Ball moved back to the, on the Jets side of the field, back to the 47.

We

can

put a little more pressure on that running game of theirs too.

They've been living on four and five yard genes.

You

don't have sizes on Jets.

We just have to use our imagination.

Yeah.

Some of them are big and some are bigger.

No.

Yes.

Fifth Corn's going to go under center again.

Got Lobanti right behind him.

Nice formation.

And Fifth Corn's going to keep it.

Roll out.

He's a left-handed quarterback and got a guy wide open on the left

flat.

Riley Crease.

Miners finally catch up with them.

There's a north-central named

Creedence.

You're not

going

to

catch them up and take them down.

The 47... You don't know where they marked them there.

...brings

it all the way down to the Miners

side.

The 16

yard line.

That's 30, 34.

That's 37 yard completion.

And a first down.

He wide open.

Wow.

Yeah, he got the end of the entrance.

Whatever

they did to get him open, it was...

Little laps in the defense there, but again, this is the first game.

First in 10 for the Jets on the Miners 16 yard line.

See if the Miners defense can stop this drive just as the Jets defense did to the Miners.

Andoff goes off to LeBonte and he...

Andoff to LeBonte?

Well,

he just keeps those legs moving

and pounding.

He's locked up by the D line of the Miners.

Part of a little vent getting in there.

Pick up with about four

yards.

Well, that was a tackle on that one inside.

There's a second and sixth ball on the 11-yard line.

Pipcorn under center, Lombon, Lombon can be right behind him and keep him alone and wing back off to the left.

Pipcorn's going to keep it straight ahead, following his blockers and he's going to be close to a first down.

Picks up

a

handful of

yards No, it's way shorter

than what I thought it was.

You got three yards left yet.

Third and three, they're on about the eight yard line it looks like.

All seven maybe?

Okay, where

were it says seven.

Mike says eight and I don't think so.

We'll go with

one of those.

That's a seven or

eight yard

line.

I think at the same angle we have.

Pipcorn stays under center alone the wing back with Auntie Pipcorn is going to keep it straight ahead needed three.

I don't know if he

got any The official through the bag down

We don't know who recovered the fumble

But that's not really important other than we can't say anything.

Miners stop the drive.

And that was on the six yard line.

So that's where the miners will

start.

First and ten on their own six yard line.

Well, two drives, one drive for each team.

Sports guys from Marquette area down on the sidelines minor sidelines Why not going to keep it and

you got an open field needs a

block and get up to the 20

I

thought

he

should

have cut that outside.

He could have a wide receiver could have thrown that block and got up to it He was there, but he was kind of watching them instead of hitting that defender, but that was tremendous game.

Yes That's big you know from your own goal line get away from the goal line out

to the 20 yard line already.

What's the time we got in the clock?

I can't see it.

47 seconds.

I thought it had to be getting close.

Fast quarter, 19 minute quarters.

When you get running

quarters like that, I mean, a running game,

there's

only actually one in completion in the game.

Jenkins in motion, line out straight ahead, no positive yard.

Not very much.

That

should be the last play of the quarter.

We're down to 15 seconds.

I don't think Yeah, I think looks like I close gonna take his time calling this play So that will do it for quarter number one No score here from Wakefield.

We're not at that zero.

We'll be back in one minute with second quarter action

And that means the world to us.

Cinex, powered locally.

All right back here in Lakefield, Randy and Rod bringing you football on a Friday afternoon.

Miners coming up with a big fumble recovery at their own six yard line and they turn the Jets away on the Jets first drive and now the Miners in their second drive.

We'll face a second and eight ball on the minor 22 yard line as we are set to start quarter number two.

That was a fast

What if they all go like that, Rod?

We'll be out here by six o'clock.

We

won't have to worry about lights.

That's true.

Packers play tonight too, don't they?

I don't care about pre-season at all.

Play all the guys that won't be there next week.

That's

exactly

what you're going to

see.

It means absolutely nothing.

You're playing guys that aren't going to be in the NFL against guys that aren't going to be in the NFL.

Or they might be on another team as a last player.

I'll start again.

Let's go give

it.

That's their first penalty of the

day.

I'll back them up five yards for teams with one penalty so far the ball back on the 17 yard line now it's second in 13 I Believe it's the same miners out there that were there for the first drive Johnson split out wide right.

Well that goes out wide left Why not alone in the shotgun?

Jenkins all goes in motion I Know with a fake to Jenkins keeps it himself and he might not eat man.

I picked up two yards We'll give him you on that one

right away 13 There 13

those

two we

were right.

Let's do it.

Okay.

Yes big play here for the miners

We have Mike Grayson, if you hear the announcement, he's the on field announcer for the team, does a great job.

The speaker's right here right outside our window.

That's why you hear part of it.

Yeah.

All right, dude, the one thing I want to do here on 3rd and 13th, back in the shadow of a goal post, pass complete to Jenkins.

Oh, I'm dead of feet.

He couldn't get by him, but that's also the fault of the yard

line.

23 yard pickup.

Jenkins, beautiful route

by

Jenkins.

When he turned,

that ball was right there.

What a nice pass by it.

First in 10 for the minors, actually they spotted on the 39.

I said 40, but his knee must have went out on the

39.

That's

a

39 and a half even, so we're going to call it the 40 for now.

Who set a balance for the miners?

39

and three quarters.

He's got some running room, 50, 45, breaks it back, breaks the tackle, and he's inside the 30 yard line.

Nice run by Caden, are you?

Right up the middle.

From the 40, where did they mark him?

At the 30, just inside there, okay.

41 yards.

Nice run.

Took it up the middle and then cut out to the right and he made a nice move on the defender but give the other defensive

player

credit because

he came over and caught him just not from the side there

when he was

making the move.

I thought he had it for a moment there.

I thought he was gone.

When he had to juke the one guy out, the other guy came from the side and caught

him.

Nice run.

Terrific run.

Well blocked.

He had nobody touch him.

First in ten minors on the jet 29-yard line Jenkins football wide left now Why not go out?

This is Johnson as a quarterback on

the plate, and

I think we're gonna have a hold

We're gonna have a hold on that left end, but we're gonna wait.

Yep.

It is hold.

I actually saw him grab it.

It's

It doesn't matter who it was, but but Jude Johnson with his

quarterback on that

play.

Yeah really mixing it up

keeping me off balance even they tried to hold the the defensive end so you could get around

and

he had

to

get a big chunk

of the uniform so

first in 20 ball back on the north central 39 yard line and see what kind of formation they come out with this time number 46 is in the ball again Dennis Elon is at the left or right guard

Bovette in tight on the right side Looks like line up back at quarterback line up active fast Oh, we got a middle and he had Bovette out there.

Well, that

lost it Yeah, I think he kind of lost it in the air, but it was there's a little bit overthrown to buddy I don't I don't think he expected it because he almost like he quit running at first there and then he was out

there

in

front of had an opportunity Brings up a second in 20

10-10 to go, second quarter.

Johnson splits out wide left, Bovet goes out wide left.

Why not?

Look at that ball get in, Bovet 10 a couple times.

He's a big strong kid.

Yes, he has got some speed out at the wide receiver.

Whoa!

There's a

ball that went right.

I think he

got it back.

No, he

didn't.

He fumbled it and he recovered.

They

recovered on the

Cardinal 49 even.

I'm not sure.

It looked like why not.

Took a step up and the ball went over his, the snap went over his head.

Well, it definitely went over his head.

You're

right

about that.

And you're right.

He stepped forward like he was going to take a shorter snap.

There might have been a little miscommunication, but it was still, even if he was back there, it still was quite high because he's not a,

he's not a seven footer.

So now the miners have fumbled, and the Jets take over on Gogevix 49 yard line.

So Jets start their second drive in good field position.

Pipcorn, handoff, goes to Malone, I think it is.

Yes, Malone.

Cane up the hole in the ball carrier.

Little bit of room to the left side, picks up a few yards.

Picks up four yards, yep.

Second or

six?

Pressing

camera all over the sidelines out here, Rod.

Let's

be a lot of interest in this game.

Pipcorn on a rollout, now a pitch to Malone, and he's wrapped up, and he never washed a yard.

Henry

Jenkins and I'm trying to see what the other person was on that end.

I'm just waiting for the turn to move a little bit Jenkins Jenkins was one of them and seven It was Drew Johnson Jenkins and Johnson team

up

Jason's here from the goal John Branthix here on the minor sideline.

He's from the Escanabe area

There's photographers all

over the mark kept guys

Don't you know who the one is in front of us to there, so Back to pass under a rush a boy lose one play now.

He's got a guy out there in the field.

That's Maloney is going to probably score.

Are you chasing him touchdown?

Wow, he broke that tackle nicely and Showed his feet there.

Here it is.

Once you broke that one tackle.

It's gone.

I just remember his speech from last year

I thought, are you and Jenkins both had good angles on him and he broke the one tackle and he was gone.

Pipcorn to Malone for a 47 yard touchdown pass with 8.37 to go here in the second quarter and more central draws first blood.

Was it 8.47 you said?

No.

8.37?

8.37, okay.

Jets will go for two.

Now Pipcorn's in the shotgun.

The hand up goes to, no he's going to keep it from around the left side and he's in for the two point conversion with 837 to go first quarter.

It's north central, second quarter, they put 14 on the board.

It's eight nothing, hoping it's 47 to go in the second quarter.

We'll be back in

30 seconds with the Jets kickoff.

Back here in Wakeville 837 ago In the second quarter and the jets draw first blood here on a nice pass from Pipcorn out to Malone for speedy back He had one cat one kind of beat he spun out of that tackle and once he got his speed going down the sidelines Not to be caught So time for the miners to answer they put some drives together, but

Stalled on the last two.

Here's the run-up in the kick.

It's a squibber, takes the high balls, and controls by the back over there on the minor side.

You know, that could have been a penalty in that play.

It should have been.

The minor went down, he just fell on it, recovered it, Drew Johnson recovered it, and

then that guy came and hit

him.

Didn't hit him very hard, but that shouldn't matter.

He had good contact with him.

Yeah, he's already down.

He's already down.

Yeah, he's giving himself up completely laying on the ground and that's a dead player right there.

Exactly.

High school.

So 1st and 10 on the 35 still shows 14 on the scoreboard.

He's trying to fix it.

He's working on it right now.

I went around to him anyway.

He's,

yeah, we know we're trying to fix it.

Yeah, I better give him space.

All

right, here we go.

1st and 10 miners on their own 35 yards by.

With their 3rd Surrey North Central on its time off, we'll take a break as well.

We're still at 837 of the 2nd quarter.

8 nothing.

All right, back here in a week.

As we come out of the timeout, North Central didn't like something that the miners are showing on offense, and quickly called the timeout before the miners get a snap.

How much time was on the clock, Rod?

8.37.

Oh, OK.

That didn't take for a long time.

No, it's been there for a long time.

But the scoreboard does show 8.00 up the

mill.

Yep,

they were able to correct it.

He's having a tough time for a little while.

Got her figured out.

Okay, why not in motion?

Jenkins is going to keep it and he's wrapped up and he's going to be thrown for a four-yard loss.

Yep, said that one red.

They did, and

he had no hope, but by the time he started to run to the side,

the defender was on him.

Things up a second and 14.

Fall back on the miners 31 yard line

Well

Now

we

better

pull one of their good runs out of their bag of tricks here to Some

good

play anyway got a game some yards here in this

second don't play why not quick pass into the Little bubble screen off to the left side.

Are you buried under us?

He danced around he had two guys missing, but they had everybody that was a gang tackle there run the defense eight guys

and birds on Haru.

He had nowhere to go.

He did pick up two yards.

The flag across the highway there

is

completely

down.

I mean

the wind

really, but over by the school it's blowing.

The lower flag below the American flag is blowing a little bit there.

You see that, but it's just American flag.

How much?

It died down a lot since we started, Rod.

It was really windy when we got here.

All right, big third down play here.

You don't want to give the wall backs to the jet back to the jets Too soon might not alone the shotgun back to past looking looking under heavy rush.

He's got a guy out there and

just

over shot Is that for that?

No Vending by him.

That was how you He tried he went up

there.

I was just up just over his I think we're gonna see a pun though

I

don't know who the punter is this year.

It looks like number two.

Oh, okay, I see it back there now.

Yep.

Henry Jenkins back deep to punt.

Well, the Jets had some, or the miners had success moving the ball, but boy, that drive just stalled.

Couldn't get nothing going here.

There's the snap and a punt that's going to be a short not too long and it's going to roll, take a

north

central roll and it hit on about the 49 yard line of north central and it rolled backwards toward the high school and the jets will start first in 10 on the miners 47 yard

line.

Not a real long punt.

I think they're

actually

marking

it

on the 48 there it looks like no.

Go that way first in ten Jets leaving eight to nothing six fifty four to go My there's gonna play good defense or you don't want to give up a score here Jets are gonna get the ball to start the third quarter as well as they as they have played They really don't want to give that up He has got a bunch of you're right bunch of blockers you're still going and he's inside the 20 close to the 15 yard line that

is a pickup

Well,

ball, scrimmage was a 48.

Looks like they're

marking them at the

18.

30 yard run.

30 yard pick up and he had... Oh, did he have a convoy out there?

Was that a well-designed play?

I don't know how you got that many people over there to block.

I think all the line pulled as soon as they... I think guys must have come out the sideline.

There must have been 12 guys out there blocking this time, Rod.

They

really did.

When he went out there, I was like,

what a convoy.

And he's a speedster.

Yeah, I think that's the only thing that slowed him up.

He didn't want to run over his own guys.

Now they go out of a shotgun, popcorn, low snap, dropped it, and he got it into the hands of Kate Malone, spun out of a

tackle,

and he's headed for the end zone.

Did he

get there?

He's close.

Wow, they had him wrapped up in the backfield.

Well, he must be just short.

Well, he, because he hit those.

Whatever the marlin.

Yeah, the pilot there.

Yeah, that couldn't get that out.

He came down to that pilot.

He

wanted

to come down

just

short.

Yeah, they got about

the half yard line.

So I'll give them 17 yards and another first down.

Jets got first in goal on the 1.

I'm looking to put six, probably eight more on the board here.

Dipkorn number center.

I expect maybe a quarterback sneak.

Nope, and off goes to...

Pryor and he walks in on touch and the Jets put six more on the board.

With 5.56 to go second quarter.

Well after a scoreless first quarter the miners are really playing a tough team.

They're playing them tough.

This has been the North Central's quarter without a doubt.

Jets will go for two.

Corner center.

Labanti right behind him.

Malone split back, hand off.

Labani and I don't think he made it.

Oh, they're good.

Oh, I didn't think he did either.

I thought he grabbed them off, but we have a different angle here.

Two-point immersion is good.

556

to go in the first half is North Central 16 and we'll give it nothing.

We'll be back in 30 seconds with the Jets kickoff.

All

right, back here in Wakefield.

Just have the ball teed up back deep for the miners is Henry Jenkins, standing about the 23 yard line.

Remember, they squib kicked last time and it didn't go very far.

So let's see what they do.

Another squib kick.

Squibber, this one picked up.

by Johnson and he'll get 0-2.

Well, he's swarmed on

there, but he's

crossed the 41 yard line of the Miners.

Good field position for the Miners.

Johnson got about 10 yards on that return.

Let's see if the Miners can get some points here before halftime.

He's got to get them all in the third quarter, so he's got to cut into his lead.

Yes, they do.

Let's think of the same thing.

Imperative that you use up a lot of time go down score out.

You don't have to use up a lot of time as long as you score But you

gobble up a big bunch of this quarter and score Line up along the shotgun Jenkins goes in motion handoff goes to Jenkins.

He cuts it inside and he's gonna be a wrap I don't know if he got anything on that

one.

It looks like they're giving it a couple All

of a sudden the running game for the miners has stalled

Well, yeah first try they were just move the ball

Yeah, and there were a lot more quick hitters and these are more You're coming from the side you they're slower developing but if you get a block you can go fire But they come from the side and they got turned go up and those quick hitters going up the middle before we're going

We're working very well Again defense might have shifted on that too.

So right could be why they're doing it Jenkins picked up two yards makes there's a second and eight All on the miners 40

three yard line line out alone in the shotgun and it's going to take up the middle himself and he's wrapped up right there.

I don't know if he gained anything either or not.

I don't think he did.

There's

some big beef in that north-central defense of line.

That gave me yard on that one so we'll give him yard.

271 Randy.

Which north-central?

Well you have that one.

I didn't want to see that

down and

we had the rest of them on the seagull.

Yep.

Remember that now once I saw that

name was okay.

How did we pronounce that?

Yeah, one the seagull.

I remember that name.

I did

too.

Mine is big third down here.

I figured that had to be a tongue twister or something.

You're saying okay.

Why are they doing this to me?

I do you recognize that name.

I did recognize it.

I thought that was a cool name.

One the seagull.

Why not?

Quick hitter up to Haru.

Can you break a tackle?

No, this is going to be a huge decision for the minor.

I guess so.

Do you go for it on your own 45 yard line with this much time left?

Do you punt?

I think they're going for it.

It's going to be fourth and

sixth.

They're

keeping the offense out there in the huddle.

Fourth and sixth, trailing 16 points with 3-48 to go here in the second quarter.

We might even see a tight low here.

Maybe try to draw him offside.

If the lineout goes under center, maybe that's really a long time, but he's already raised his hand

in the backfield there.

And on the shotgun, he's back to pass.

He's looking across the middle and overshot Bovette.

You know what, they had two receivers in the same area.

Somebody

ran the wrong route because there are two of them right there.

And

what that allows is that the Jets defense.

He was looking for Bovette, but boy, it made

it

easier to defend.

You're right, Rod.

Yeah, one guy can cover two guys.

Exactly.

They had defenders there and they had...

Pressure in the backfield.

I mean line.

I didn't have another second

to wait.

We got number 65 coming in five million back in there.

Yep

Well first in ten jets on the minor 45 yard line boy now it's up to the minor defense to shut this office down And that's one way to do it

That was you Johnson

with a nice

tackle

If anything you might have lost a half a yard on that one.

Yeah, I'll give them zero.

Yeah, I would too I'm saying where they put that marker they just move the marker maybe six inches back from

where it was Second and ten for the Jets 250 to go here second quarter Jets up for 16 to nothing Second and ten pipcorn

They should put a running backs and we got a flag on the play.

Let's see what that's going to be.

Pipcorn gained about two yards.

We're supposed

to develop a play as he was taking it to the... Tommy is running on the tackle and will that...

Paul starts against the Jets.

That'll help the miners.

Paul starts.

Back them up five yards, make it a second and 15.

I

don't know

what side this side is, but that's

where

you're standing,

I

guess.

The ball is actually in, back in Cardinal territory.

Jets, Jets territory, meet me up.

Pipcorn in the shotgun, backs right off his left and right shoulder.

And all those two, uh, the corn, the guy out there and over city, catch it early fever.

I didn't catch it when he ended.

He caught it.

What a call.

Riley Creighton's one handed.

One handed ground.

Fantastic catch.

That really was picked up 10 on that.

Yeah.

I thought that was over zone.

I thought there's

no way to catch it.

Right in the sidelines.

We were kind of blocked over the people.

But when he came up, he had his hands up.

Third and five with 150 to go here in the second quarter.

Pipkorn lives out the shotgun.

Going to keep it himself.

He's got running room on the left side.

Yeah, left side and he is going to be close to the first down maybe a yard short.

Looks like the official on the other side is giving it to

him.

Oh, he's giving him first down.

All right, so this is by George on that carry and that is these

6th

first down for the Jets.

We've got a minute and 37 to go here.

Come on Miners defense, keep them on the

end zone here.

Ball

on the minor 34 yard line.

Fifth corner go out of the shotgun, backs, and we've got a timeout.

on the field called by North Central.

We'll take a break as well.

16-0 in North Central, 137 to go second quarter.

We'll be back in one minute.

Jets the first in 10 on the minor 34 yard line 137 to go before halftime Jets leaving 16 to nothing.

It's imperative the minor defense keeps them at the end.

So we got a flag and probably the legal motion or a phone start on the jets There weren't enough waiting for a signal just my guess I'm waiting for make short.

Oh, they're going the other way They are Oh, I'm sorry he finds Wow

Well, that they didn't

need.

Look for

the... That's going to move the ball up to the 29-yard line area.

Well, that'll make it first in five now on the 29-yard line.

Game five

yards and he'll

run it

any time off the clock, which is a big five yards.

So somebody lined up offside for the Jets.

The corn in the shotgun backs off to his left Going back to fast looking you don't air it out there.

He's got a guy out there and Creighton

They will decline that one handed catch again by Riley Creighton's

And this was, what, down to the spot in

it.

Where is it?

They're marching back.

Are they saying offensive passing here?

That's what they're saying.

Wow.

I'm going to tell you, that was a fantastic catch by him down there.

But again, we're not down there.

Can't see all that's going on with the hands.

That's a

pig.

This

is a ten-yard penalty that

works.

That's huge.

Well,

that's

about as big of a college you're going to see.

Wow.

Well, he did get open at the end.

Yep.

So, first in 15 now.

Kepkorn pitch back to the lawn.

Got some room around the

room.

Nice cover by that.

Whoever was on that.

You were taken down by Drew Johnson.

Drew

Johnson again, they're really

nice.

Filled the

hole from the linebacker position.

The only thing about it is he knocked

them out of bounds.

Jets should be down to

one-time-all.

125 to go Second and 14 ball on the minor 37 yard line what a huge offensive pass interference call against Riley Creighton's push the really helped the minors Thought they were in position the score again tip corn stays up the shotgun or stays in the shotgun really know what we got We got another flag.

I'm

sorry,

and I think he's really a

game.

I think Oh, I thought he was going outside this in the score again

Pipcorn stays up the shotgun or stays in the shotgun rally.

No, we got We got another flag.

I think he's in the game, I think.

Oh, I thought he was going outside.

Yeah, when you put it on,

you're right.

Well, we'll take more penalties, won't we?

Yeah

Make

it a second and 19 ball goes back to the 43.

They gained four on the run.

They lose five on the penalty.

Going back and forth here.

All right, second and 19.

That's about the middle and then in the other hand at number 21, Tyler Beeser.

Not sure if

George Johnson got a hand on there or not, but he certainly flashed in front with his arm before that pass hit there.

He might have touched it, might have deflected it just a hair, but either way, it was incomplete.

Yeah, no pressure on the north central quarterback.

No, not at all.

That's plenty of time to pick out a receiver.

Third and 19 o'clock, she was balling the 24, it's on balls on the 42.

Well, it's close, yep.

It's on the right side of the field anyway.

and he's got some running room and he's going to be short of the first down but boy he's going to pick up about 15 yards.

It was Levante in the run there though.

Was it?

Yeah.

Right here.

Okay.

So here we go.

This

should

be fourth and four.

Yeah.

Fourth and four ball on the minor 28 yard line.

One minute to go here in the

Second quarter.

Well, this is a big offensive play for the North Central

team.

Good corn.

End up.

That's a rule on this side.

Got blockers out front.

He's going to get the first down.

Breaks the tackle and fumble.

Fumble it,

but they recovered it out.

Going

to be a first down for the Jets.

And that was the Fonte.

That ball was on the 20th with the recovery on the fumble.

The last time out, no, for the Jets.

Nine yard pick up and where is it first down?

No timeout miners miners call timeout.

Yep Well

just gotta

talk to

his

defense but he need to talk to his defense about yep the clock was stopped anyway could for the Hoogland of the chains That was gonna be a clock stoppage for a little bit anyway First in 10 jets on the miner

20 yard line just have one time all left, but boy they really have picked up Their defense to stop the miners on there.

I mean the miners have the ball.

Oh, I think now they're moving the ball.

They look good It's like

north-central hit another gear here both defensively and offensively in this quarter

This quarter didn't go quite as fast.

No, we had a first we had a 20 minute quarter the first time and now we've had 40 minutes

quarter

Almost well 33 so far.

All right, first in 10 jets as we come out of the I guess I could have taken a Break there, but I didn't caught up in

action

Pipcorn will go Auto shotgun got Malone after his left Low snap fix it up under a little bit of a rush.

He's gonna air it up.

You gotta go wide open

Touchdown to Riley Creighton.

Wide open

20-yard jet touchdown.

20-yard pass and with 37 seconds to go here in the second quarter, North Central put six more on the board.

Creighton went over there and tried to do a backflip.

Society only made about three quarters of the way over.

Still kind of neat.

37 seconds.

This has been a disappointing quarter for the minors, I will say that, but again, they're against, this is, we're told you where you are in the season when you're playing one of the best teams, and they are good north central.

Central home for two, hip corn, pitch out to Malone, dropped it, and the conversion is no, doesn't matter yet.

When

getting

the job done right is job one.

All ready?

Back here in Wakefield 37 seconds to go before halftime and the Jets put six more on the board Well, we might not we might we will probably see another script.

We will see another script kick here I would imagine pretty sure why put it up in

the air

Kicking into the what little win there is Kicking into the win is a run up in the kick and it's a little end over end But it's going to go out of bounds again.

Yeah

Pick up

three yards off of that one.

Yeah,

but

it's still

okay still

penalty All

right

I would expect miners to be very careful here.

Down 22 to nothing.

37 seconds to go.

Ball back on the run.

I'd be surprised

if they do anything but run.

Probably a very conservative run.

I would think so.

But you get the right guy and the right blocking.

You could break one.

See how aggressive they want to be here.

Jenkins goes in motion.

Lionel's going to keep it.

He's going to go off the right side.

He's going to lose your order.

That could be the last play.

He lost three on

that.

Clock

down to 20 seconds.

Most likely that will be the last play.

They don't look like there any rush to get this playoff.

I don't think they will get this off.

It's gonna they're already they're still in the huddle.

They got six seconds to go.

I don't think they're gonna get off.

Oh another herring.

Done and they did not get it off.

Just at the buzzer.

Just at the clock at zero they snapped the ball.

So that will do it for

the first half here in Wakefield.

North Central

Jets 22 and Grigivik Miners nothing will take the five-minute break.

Come back with stats.

scoring and comments regarding this first half.

Grand

Rapids was the officiating capital of the world for one day and we introduce a new series on why officials officiate.

I'm John Ross and this is this week in high school sports powered by the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and coming to you from the 1-800-CALL-SAM studio.

In late July, about 1,000 MHSAA registered officials attended Officiate Michigan Day at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.

Some of the biggest names and officiating from across the country were on hand to lead discussions, workshops and training sessions.

The two keynote speakers were Mike Pereira, a former college and NFL official who is now the TV Rules Analyst for Spock Sports, and Kerry Seitz, the current Vice President of Ruffering for U.S.

Soccer, and the former FIFA Head of Ruffering.

Seitz is also a graduate of Brighton High School and Michigan State University.

Officiate Michigan Day was designed to benefit officials with any level of experience, veteran to beginner.

High profile clinicians representing several sports in all levels including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, FIFA and the National Women's Soccer League provided face-to-face training during four sport specific breakout sessions throughout the conference.

This was the third officiate Michigan day joining events in 2013 and 2018 and for more check out the officials page at mhsa.com

Normally it goes to the 35,

but now I think since the ball went out at the 43, you get it there.

Yes.

So then is that considered a seven yard penalty?

No, it's just where the ball went out of bounds.

They decline the penalty and take the ball.

Good

call.

It's on the 42 years where they've got it.

Drew Johnson's foot salt wide left.

Bolvett in tight on the right.

This is... Oh, Eversen.

I don't think they're so over the run.

Oh.

Looks like he picked up a couple.

Yeah, Eversen is a 5'7", 155", 150 pound sophomore.

Good skier.

Yeah, very competitive skier competing

in...

Oh really?

He takes

Karen.

That's where he got all his skiing ability from.

Oh, okay This is Jenkins and that's a new Ray back.

Well that was Jenkins that time He uh, he danced around a whole heck of a lot there.

Okay

Instead of being able to go

for it.

I don't think he gained any way to have lost a yard either.

I think so.

It's 13-10, ball back on the ball still on the minor 43 yard, and Miner's offense just has... The unsightly they gained a yard or two plays here.

They gained two and they went back one.

Nine yards to go.

At least get down to the others.

Other side of the field.

Got to get across the 50-yard line.

Oh,

nice.

That was Everson,

okay.

Nice catch by Everson.

A little three yards

pass

on the wing and Everson broke it back off.

He put in a manageable fourth and short.

Yeah, they picked up seven on that one.

Got a little about two yards to go.

Nice move and then he put his head down and drove straight forward.

It looked like he was going to get that first down.

Just nailed in the court.

Randy, look where the ball is and we are going to end the court.

Finally, we got it.

The ball is on the, got it across the 50 though.

The referees only have to move the ball five inches.

This is Rod's big thing for any game, if you know this, if you ever listen

to

us, if I was close to the 50, they can get on that thing.

So you just move it a little bit, but they actually finally got it into the opponent.

Yes.

Yeah, we're finally on the north central side of the field.

One foot in, but that's

all.

All right, back here in Wakefield, fourth and about two for the miners on the Jets 49 yard line.

See, they can convert this first down here.

Why not alone in the shotgun?

Why not go straight ahead, put his head down, and as the other booties will do it, Bryson does the same thing.

First, first down on the fourth quarter.

Yeah, first first down on the pass.

You think Bodhi taught him how to do that play

right there?

First down for the miners.

There's time in a long time.

He

must have, Rod.

All

right, let's see if they can keep his drive going here.

Find out other shots then.

That Everson split out wide left.

Jenkins was right.

Everson goes in motion.

Take the handoff, Bryson up the middle, or left out the middle, and he is tripped up, and he picked up a yard or two.

Le

Bon Tee, I think it is Le Bon Tee.

I think that's Bobby's kid, isn't it?

Sure.

Bobby and Terry, both brothers.

Yes.

Hopefully it is Le Bon Tee.

All right second down and seven fall on the Jets 43 yardland Jets may have some new players in there.

I don't know Number two is don't man.

He depends the longy You're sitting in motion inside handoff goes to jet Jenkins and he is wrapped up by two jets Drop for a

lot I'm

waiting to see if whether they move that flag or not if it's a loss or if it's just that though It looks like they both the same spot

Cashed

in

Denny checked in for the miners number 15.

Let's see where he splits out to or is he aback number 15 Lot back on the right side

Why not alone in the shotgun?

It's gonna go straight ahead and go right off immediately.

Hunter Holly.

Yep, isn't there a Holly Hunter?

You know, I think there is.

It's a Holly Hunter.

No, it's an actress, yes.

This is Hunter Holly.

We were already on six.

I thought it was a

number

eight, but there's no number eight on

their team, so we're out again with those sharp eyes.

What if Hunter Holly married Holly Hunter?

When they were, did they change their name to Holly Holly or Hunter Hunter?

You have to see.

Some things you gotta just think about, you know?

Well, you know, that sun is going down.

It's still not dark here, but if it gets much darker, they'll have to move the end of this game to Bezwerp to the messy field.

So no, it's a long time yet.

There's plenty of daylight here.

Nice

lineup back the path.

There's a guy out there.

That is Adam Everson again, I think.

Yes.

We'll make it.

Fourth or was that for that was that was there?

Well, that was for it.

Nope

You just

said

there's got fourth on the marker now, but That's what's messed me up.

It was third on the marker.

I think they just didn't

look

marker

That's how I was gonna know it's first on the up.

So he was short of the first down by about a yard for the Jets take over But the sideline

marker did read third down on that play.

That's what

I was confused

because it

We'll just take over and see if they have anybody new out there.

Pipcorn is still the quarterback.

And up goes to number 12, Kate Malone.

So he's right up the middle, too.

Adam Everson on the tackle, along with 81 nets.

Tabiruni.

He picked up eight yards on that carry.

Everson comes limping off.

Everson had a spring ankle in practice.

He did not scrimmage.

That could be what it is, then.

Well that comes off.

It wasn't a

serious limp, but it was a limp nonetheless.

It's just a small limp.

89 as the defensive end.

We don't have an 89 on the roster.

I

was just looking at that.

I don't have that in mind.

I was just wondering who the heck that is.

I thought maybe I was looking at the wrong number, but no.

Well, he's almost lined up offside.

It goes totally south.

Malone again and nice open field tackle by Drew Johnson.

Drew Johnson has had a heck of a game.

He really has.

Well, they stopped them short again.

No gain, I think.

Right.

Still third.

Yeah, he might have got it.

He only got one to

go now.

Third and one ball on the Jets.

47 yard length.

7.27 Jets out in front.

7.27 to go in the fourth quarter.

Jets out in front.

36 to nothing.

No scoring in the first quarter.

And the Jets really turned it on in the second quarter.

The corn under center and you'll go straight ahead and you'll just

You know, I think if they wanted I think again three or four yards every single time by just doing that up Yes, all of center.

It's not exciting to watch but anytime they need it.

They've got it

down to Seven minutes in this quarter.

This is flying by now, Rod

Pipcorn isn't a very big guy.

We don't have heights or weights, but he looks like he's kind of solid.

He does for his height.

The other one that looks is that Caden Malone at number 12.

He's not a real big guy either, but man, he is strong when he's fast.

Yeah, he's fast.

Watch him while he's there.

He'll put his shoulder down and knock somebody down.

He's leading with blocks a lot of times on these other plays when Pipcorn runs too.

Pipcorn hand off to Malone and he's wrapped up.

He didn't get to use any for speed that time.

That ball went into his hands and he was tackled by two

people.

We can see you get up Henry and number 62

Damian

intimate

Nick.

Damian intimate.

Jean Field is on

attack.

He's up second and nine.

Yeah.

Pip-torn just to play from the sidelines.

Miners will be off to Norway.

Well, it doesn't get any easier.

Oh, they're overseas just like football.

Should we go overseas?

Yep.

North Carolina is playing in Ireland and the Miners will be playing in Norway.

That's fantastic.

It's a long bus ride.

Yeah, they're taking the bus over there.

Good point on the pitch-out to Malone and he's wrapped

up.

Somebody here did a nice job of holding their place on the defensive, waiting for them to get up so we can see who that is.

Turn around and show me your number.

Did

you hit my ditch?

Jenkins.

No, that was... Johnson.

Johnson's the one that hit the health of your own.

Yep, Jenkins was

in

attack.

Like I said, Drew Johnson has had a really nice game defensively.

When you start calling his name and play after play after play on good plays, then you know he's having a good game.

He's not a real big guy either.

He's only 650 pounds.

Right.

Third and about eight.

Ball on the minor 46 yard line.

Tip corn goes under center.

Scott Malone has the loan back and here's the inside handoff.

He breaks one tackle and now he's wrapped up.

He's still unstoppable.

He gets one too quick.

Everybody had him.

Somebody had a piece of his shirt in the backfield there for the longest time, but they were able to stop him.

You

just get moving and spinning.

Oh, here's a big fourth down play, right?

Fourth and sixth.

I would keep a guy tight on Riley Creighton if he's in the ballgame.

Yes, he is number one.

I don't know if they'll pass anymore with this big of a lead.

Well, maybe not.

They really don't have to.

Yeah, they might just run it.

4-17 to go there.

See you, my love auntie.

Ends are in tight.

Get going under center along the deep back If you're right the past he's got credence wide open Oh, that's off the ground that ball hit the ground Wow, he had got behind the defense credence couldn't do his one-handed catch because it didn't get to him.

Oh, he was wide open Wow was And that's pass been thrown perfectly credence would have put six more on the board.

What's the time of the clock?

I just want to write that down 345

Miners have 345 as Rudson

The score I believe they're gonna try some plays.

I bet you we're gonna see some passing plays though

Let's see 81 going into the ball game.

That's tabby Rooney Well that goes back in Then this Elam is in there 46.

Let's see go that 85.

No, but that's on the sidelines.

He's not in 15 is going in Kashten

Denny

A couple of new players going in there, you know.

Well, one thing about it, they're getting playing time for some of the younger players, too, but Johnson's pulled out wide left.

Wide, yeah, wide left.

We're gonna have a pass here.

Why not?

Shotgun?

No, we're not.

Goes to... Oh, I thought that... Is that Everson?

Or is that...

Hand off to Henry Jenkins.

Oh, Henry Jenkins,

okay.

I thought he had a chance to break through.

It looked like a tackle.

And then, bang, they were

there though.

But it's not just one.

The

first

guy hits him and then the other

guys, they don't know where they're marking that.

You know what?

He got back to the line of scrimmage.

Yep.

You know the site marker went away down and then he kept coming back, coming back, coming back.

But...

North Central travels to Ishpemene next Friday

night.

It'll be a nice workout for the North Central team.

Any in motion and he's gonna be wrapped up and dropped for a loss

Four

yards, maybe three yards, I guess I give him the forward motion forward progress

Interesting

that this refereeing crew had their early game last week.

Guess what the score was

36 nothing.

And that's something.

And that's the score

right now.

That's

probably going to be the score at the end of the game.

Do you think there's something in the gambling and Vegas on these?

I'm just saying, I'm just stating the facts.

That's all.

Just the facts, man.

Just the facts.

Why not season the shotgun?

And here's a hand out to Denny looking for running room.

buried under a sea of voices.

He may have got up to the line of scrimmage, but that's

it.

4th and

12 with one minute to go in the ballgame.

Gaston Denny is wearing number 15 in the green.

I thought he looked like Bart Starr until he got the ball, then he didn't look like Bart Starr anymore.

He looked more like Ringo Starr

in

the ball maybe.

I expect

a pass.

I expect one too, Rod.

How much time we got?

Is this the last play?

40 seconds.

We

got one more play, maybe.

Why not?

Handoff goes to number 22, and that is Turner's second pitch, and he is going to be wrapped up well short of the first down.

That

should do

it.

Lock

is down to 20 seconds.

North Central doesn't have to run into the play.

And the clock will wind down.

It stops the clock.

On the change of possession.

It's stopped on change of possession, is it?

Well, then North Central will have to run.

Yep, they'll just kneel down.

Well, who knows.

Tip corn will just take a knee and that will do it Final score tonight from Wakefield Central Jets 36 and the Bolivar minus nothing will take a five-minute break.

We'll come back with

All

right, Bactrian Wakefield, final score this afternoon.

Central Jets 36, and the Gugivik Miners nothing.

And, boy, Randy, that first quarter looked like we were going to have a very good ball game.

Looks like two even teams.

And I don't know what happened in the second quarter, but the Jets put up 28 points on the board, and the Miners offense just went in the tank.

Truly, Rod, you couldn't have said it any better.

the game in a nutshell.

You had two even teams in the first quarter and they really played well.

Yes.

You know, and there was a turnover on each team.

It's kind of critical turnover, but they're both turnover.

They're actually north central fumble on their six yard line even, but still it was just that close.

It was going along.

They looked good.

The minors were gaining on a lot of the runs and stuff like that.

And all of a sudden it's just nothing.

They had just all of their yards were in the first quarter.

I

mean, almost

all of

their offense yards, just not much after that.

Right.

I think you set off the error.

They had 25 yards and the third in the second half.

Second half total of 25 yards.

Yeah.

I'll give credit to the Jets.

Can't win a game like that.

Sure.

That was just tough.

No.

And you're right.

Give credit to the

Jets.

Yeah.

Sorry.

Looking at stats for the North Central Jets, they were letting the rushing by their number, one of the top running backs, number two, Prylor Labonte.

He had 11 carries for 104 yards.

the quarterback Nathan Pipcorn had 14 carries for 43 yards and Caden Malone had 15 carries for 73 yards 40 carries overall for the Jets for 220 yards and the passing game Pipcorn was 5 out of 7 for 126 yards so 346 yards total offense for the Jets a lot of their drives

started in minor territory and they didn't have, didn't have far to go.

Only three, three ball carriers for the Jets all night long, the two running backs, Pipcorn, or Pipcorn the quarterback, and then Malone and the Bonte.

And they did, they did all the damage along with Riley Creighton with some great catches.

Good

looking

offensive

players there.

They look

good on defense too.

They look

good.

Got some stats for us.

Sure you go give excited.

They're not good, but

they're stats nonetheless first all in rushing to go give it ended up with 27 carries for 90 yards And if you remember in the first half they're 18 carries for 82 yards So they they had nine carries for eight yards in that second half, which is just that was tough and there was just nowhere to go Passing not bad stat wise is seven for nine passing but not many yards gained total of 48 yards That was 17 yards that they gained in the second half

No big passes.

He had people open.

The passes he did were short little passes and they were there and had a lot of pressure on him at times.

The leading rusher was Haru.

He had four carries for 54 yards and those were all the first and second quarter.

He touched them all one time in the second half and that was on a pass play.

He gained three yards and that was it.

So I don't know if he got dinged up or if it just

works in the offense or whatever but anyway it just

Wasn't as good as what we expected and after that first quarter.

We were both pretty excited about look like oh god We got a real game going here, but yeah, no miners miners move the ball real well on their first drive the they got down deep into the jet territory and Did they run out of downs on that one?

Did they turn it over and for now?

I think yes, that's first there is no joke.

Yes, and then they then they caused the fumbled on near their goal line

But that was probably their best drive of the night.

It was that very first drive.

Things looked to be clicking, but it just didn't happen.

We were quickly going over the scoring.

North Central scored first in the second quarter, 837.

Time, it was a Pipcorn 2 Malone 47-yard pass.

2-point conversion was good.

North Central went up 8-0 and they scored again at the 5-50.

5-52 mark on a 1-yard run by

Uh, prior, prior Labonte, two point conversion was good and at that point, North Central had 16 to nothing.

Another pass play from, uh, Pipcorn to Roddy Creighton's for 20 yards at the 57 mark, 37 second mark of the second quarter.

Two point conversion was no good and at halftime, it was North Central 22 and go give it nothing.

North Central scoring again.

Twice in the third quarter one on a four-yard run by La Ponte two-point conversion was no good.

It was 28 to nothing and then With that so the smart choice of the game

Brought to you by Northwood Technical College, and if you're looking to make a smart choice in your future, please consider contacting the great folks at Northwood Technical College and make a plan for your future.

They are located on Beezer Avenue right next to the Ashland High School.

Randy, you know, there's no one thing that stands out as being the smart choice of the game, but something happened with the

She had to defense that just shut down the miners offense and whatever that change was That had to be the smart choice of the

game.

I think you're right They shifted where their linebackers were there and they've shifted their defense a little bit more to the to stop the run From that I was at the end of the first quarter and it was not

the same after and you're right I totally agree we talked about that met with that was a significant change Yeah, I can't pinpoint exactly what it was, but they changed something up because it just throttle the minor defense

After that point but give congratulations to a north central they look like a very fine football team They will travel to is trimming next week.

We'll give it another tough one.

They go to Norway.

You know that the last year in Norway Well, see if the minus young

man right down there in the sideline gets back real quick to in Jaden verette.

Well, he's a difference maker.

He is he's

in the street close tonight.

Hopefully he comes back sooner than they expect, but we understand he had some surgery and he's got to come back.

We don't want the CMB damage for the rest of his life.

Free food

free ice cream, free entry into a drawing for up to $1,000 in chamber dollars.

Employee pricing on all

in-stock new trucks.

Up to $1,000 in chamber dollars with every vehicle purchase.

$59.95 synthetic oil changes.

This is not a sale.

This is a can't miss event at Marth dollar Honda trade of Ashen.

We're just like the view, the sale is superior.

For Cinex, it means everything.

It means we know what our communities need.

So you'll always leave Cinex with a full tank, full of snacks, or full of smiles.

Or all of the above.

30 seconds with the Jets kickoff.

town town iron wood

It's time for game balls when we highlight a trio of standout performances from the past week.

We lead things off with the volley turf takeover at LansingCatholic where Williamson and LansingCatholic both won volleyball matches played outside on the Cougars football field.

Elliot Bigger had a goal and to assist in Traverse City Christians win over Manning.

Good skier.

Yeah, very competitive skier competing

in...

A lot of the upscale tournaments all west

and everything so good to see that In a first-year Marty's golden-air member.

Oh really?

He takes

after his aunt

One foot in, but that's

all.

All

right, third quarter has come to an end, and we'll take a one minute break.

See you later.

We'll come back with

staffs comments regarding this ball game

We'll

All

right, Bactrian Wakefield, final score this afternoon.
