Federal authorities in Wisconsin just announced charges in what they call one of the largest drug busts ever prosecuted in the state.

The massive maritime drug bust involves more than $17 million worth of cocaine.

Three Mexican nationals affiliated with the Sinaloa Cartel were extradited following their arrest off the coast of Costa Rica, where law enforcement intercepted nearly 1,800 pounds of pure cocaine aboard a U.S.

registered yacht.

Federal prosecutors announced the charges on Tuesday, calling it one of the largest drug seizures ever prosecuted in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Officials emphasized stopping the shipment prevented tens of millions of dollars in illegal drugs from reaching American communities.

Wisconsin's two candidates for governor went face-to-face last night in the first and only debate between the two before the November third election.

The Milwaukee County executive and congressman sparred over data centers, affordability, abortion, President Donald Trump, and the 2020 election.

Throughout the hour-long debate, Crowley frequently linked Tiffany to Trump and his policies, including the big beautiful bill, tariffs, and the war with Iran.

Tiffany countered by accusing Crowley of sounding like a socialist.

Tiffany said he is for Wisconsin, while Crowley is consistently focused on being against Donald Trump.

On abortion, Tiffany said he would uphold the state's current law, allowing abortion access through 20 weeks of pregnancy.

But in the house, Tiffany has supported bills that would ban abortion care at about six weeks of pregnancy.

Crowley said he would work with the legislature to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.

Which candidate was the winner of the debate is a matter of speculation, but the contrast between the two is clear.

For Crowley, it's a choice between protecting working families or continuing Trump's economic policies.

For Tiffany, it's a choice between tax relief or bigger government.

A Wisconsin congressional candidate is facing a disorderly conduct charge following a viral road rage confrontation at a gas station.

Court records show candidate Matthew Arndt was charged after being caught on camera launching into a profanity-laced, anti-semitic rant in Mequon.

Arndt defended his political stances on Israel, but admitted he could have chosen better words during the incident.

He's scheduled to make his first appearance in court next month.

Wisconsin-based home products company DHI Corporation is moving its corporate headquarters back to Milwaukee.

The company is bringing around 25 employees to a 4,500-square-foot office space in Milwaukee's historic Papst District.

Founded in the city as a hardware business in 1872, D.H.I.

operated out of Mequon for more than two decades before making the return downtown, Chief Executive Officer J.P.

Drevline called the move an investment in growth and talent, joining several other major companies that have recently relocated to Milwaukee's Urban Core.

The UW-Madison Board of Regents is moving forward with plans to build new residence halls to help house its growing student body.

The university is currently operating dorms at 115 percent capacity, forcing many students into crowded triples or converted lounge spaces.

To address the shortage, the school plans to form a public-private partnership for all electric energy-efficient housing expected to open by fall of 2029.

And that's your state news update.

Basketball, the Bucks losing to the Wizards last night, 1-28 to 1-16.

Plenty of things we got to clean up.

Just going against the set defense is really hard.

We got a screen a little bit better.

But I thought when we got in transition, we did a pretty good job of seeking the open guy and finding, you know, we got 28 assists.

But, you know, we can't be playing against the set defense, you know, especially late in the game, third and fourth quarter.
