For 97.9 WGBW News, I'm Lisa Hale. It was a record-setting warm day yesterday, or at least a record-tying warm day, the temperature in Green Bay hit 53 Monday, tying the record set in 1930.
With the warmer weather, Meteorologist Brittany Marlowe says we need to be ready for some possible flooding.
The frost depth matters when it comes to snow melts and rain arriving, and this season it's considered normal to above normal.
This is from the frequent cold snaps that we've hand throughout the winter, and frost depths currently range from 15 inches to as deep as 38 inches, which is much more than we observed this time last year.
The deeper frost depth, the more runoff and flooding possible, because the frozen ground will not allow water to readily pass through the surface and be absorbed.
And this is one of the primary factors why floods happen during this time of year.
Starting next week, Monday, March 3rd, the Interstate 41 Southbound Off-Ramp to state 96 Wisconsin Avenue will be closed at least until summer for construction.
The DOT recommends that drivers who wish to access Wisconsin Avenue and Grand Shoot take the next exit south at state 125 College Avenue.
The work will add auxiliary lanes and will also create bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
All of this is part of the larger project to expand I-41 between Grand Shoot and Depeer from 4 to 6 lanes.
Monday night, the Green Bay Area Public School Board voted to change several job titles and descriptions to keep ahead of a directive from the Trump Administration on DEI efforts.
The changes removed mentions of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competency from job descriptions.
The motion to change titles and descriptions carried 4 to 3.
The school board hopes the efforts will ensure that it doesn't lose millions of dollars in federal aid.
The Education Department sent a memo out Friday giving school districts an ultimatum to stop using racial preferences as a factor in admissions, financial aid, hiring, and other areas.
Schools were given 14 days to end any practice that treats students and workers differently because of their race.
One study by Wallet Hub found that Wisconsin homeowners pay some of the highest real estate property taxes in the country.
According to the study, Wisconsin ranked eighth in the nation for highest taxes despite having the 20th lowest median home value.
Wisconsin residents pay nearly $4,600 in annual taxes for median value home, significantly more than the national average of about $3,000 per year.
Illinois was the only Midwest state to rank higher on the list, paying a median home average of nearly $6,800 per year.
Two dairy organizations are suing Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Call.
The Wisconsin dairy alliance and the Venture Dairy Cooperative are challenging the AG's decision to outsource Department of Justice Environmental Litigation work.
Kim Bremer is the Executive Director of Venture Dairy Co-op.
Call has taken money from New York University State Energy and Environmental Impact Center and has used that money to hire a special assistant attorney general who's in charge of Environmental Litigation.
Bremer says the privately funded center has a track record of advocating for policies that are harmful to farmers.
She says the Cooperative's members, many of which are large dairies, wanted to proceed with the lawsuit.
While the statement from his office, Call said with the harm pollution causes many Wisconsin communities, better resourcing of enforcement for state environmental laws shouldn't be controversial.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Calumet County Court.
The Wisconsin DMV is warning of a rise in online vehicle fraud. Melissa K has that story.
The number of online vehicle scams have increased recently. The scheme starts as a fake online storefront.
The website or social media profile claims to be a Wisconsin dealership.
You'll see stock images or photos of real vehicles and real Wisconsin dealerships are included to make things seem legitimate.
Advertised vehicles may be listed at below market value to make interested customers take the bait.
Another warning signal is no in-person contact with the seller.
Wisconsin DMV is aware of multiple cases that follow this pattern.
Sometimes the scammer interacts with the customer by phone or email, but after they receive the money by wire transfer, all contact stops.
WisDOT has recommendations to help you avoid scammers.
If you're the victim of a scam, you can file a dealer complaint along with other actions to protect your credit and information.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Call has announced that the state has joined yet another multi-state lawsuit.
This time to protect the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
In the lawsuit filed with 22 other states, the coalition argues that the dismantling of the CFBP would cause significant harm to consumers and would block enforcement of federal consumer protection laws.
The agency oversees big banks, lenders and credit companies to protect residents from aggressive business practices.
The CFPB was formed in the wake of the Great Recession.
The largest flag day parade in the country with over 50,000 spectators will take place in Appleton on Saturday, June 14.
The City of Appleton Parades Committee is now accepting applications for the 74th Appleton Flag Day Parade.
It's also accepting applications for the Memorial Day Parade on May 26.
The deadline to apply to be in either parade is April 15.

The film took in a little over 28 million theaters this past weekend to remain the top of the feature film leaderboard here in the US.
The most recent Marvel film has now brought in 141 million domestically after a $100 million plus opening last weekend.
Big Drop-offs for Marvel films are becoming a bit of a concern for Disney Studios, Ant-Man and Wasp, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3,
and Thor, Love and Thunder also saw big drop-offs from weeks 1 to 2.
In the number 2 slot this past weekend was the monkey, a gory thriller which pulled in a little over 14 million in its debut weekend.
Another win for Neon Studios, which released the surprise hit Long Legs last year.
Rounding out to top 5, we're patting it in Peru, which finished in 3rd place.
Dogman was in 4th and Heart Eyes, finished in 5th place.
Awards season is in the home stretch, with the Oscars less than a week away.
The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards are in the books and could give us some hints for next week's Oscar broadcast.
Timothy Chalamet and Demi Moore took home the awards for Best Male and Female Actor in a leading role in the feature film category.
Conclave won the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.
Outstanding performance by a supporting actress went to Zoe Saldana for Amelia Perez.
Kieran Culkin won outstanding performance by a supporting actor for his role in a real pain.
Outstanding performance by a lead actor in a limited series went to Colin Farrell for his role in the Penguin,
and Jessica Gunning won the same award for her role in Baby Reindeer.
Switching to comedy, Jean Smart took home the Best Female Acting Award for Hacks,
and Martin Short won in the same category for a male actor for only murders in the building.
Only murders also won Best Ensemble in a Comedy.
Outstanding performance by an Ensemble in a drama series went to Shogun.
Not a huge surprise there.
Here's a peek if you're looking for something to watch on the small screen.
The Gorge, starring Miles Teller and Anna Joy Taylor, is a thriller about two snipers standing watch over a mysterious foggy patch of land between two watch towers.
The two find out they might just be guarding the gates of hell and are not supposed to ask questions or even communicate with each other.
They do, and fall in love.
The film isn't perfect and drags during the romance scenes, but the concept is fun.
Is it a great film?
No, but it is a great Netflix movie.
If you think for one second that being the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Schreiber will help you get roles in Hollywood, you are mistaken.
