ICE agents arrested three dozen people in Manitouac yesterday. Civic Media's Connie Filman has more.
Officials say nine of those arrested were targeted for suspected involvement in the sexual assault and or trafficking of minor American girls.
FBI agents say all the people arrested were in the country illegally.
Forward Latino, an immigrant rights group in Manitouac issued a statement last night saying it's reckless and harmful to connect all those detained with allegations of sex trafficking.
The statement points out that some of the people arrested work in the dairy industry, helping sustain Wisconsin's family owned dairy farms.
Forward Latinos President says at a time when Wisconsin faces a severe labor shortage, we should be focused on expanding legal pathways, not tearing families apart.
I'm Connie Filman. The end of September means it's time for the 52nd Cranberry Festival in Warrens.
The Cranfest runs through the weekend, Rain or Shine.
Grant Holly is executive director of the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association, an industry org that turns 138 this year.
Holly tells Civic Media the festival happens just ahead of the traditional time for Cranberry Harvest, but hybrids have loosened when the harvest can happen.
So we have these hybrids now and we have hybrids that will start producing their various that are ready to be harvest right around the second week of September.
And then we have hybrids that will delay so that we can go almost all the way to hunting season.
This year's harvest is still different.
We are moving a little bit faster this year than we have before.
This warm weather during harvest is kind of unheard of and we're learning how to deal with it.
But one of the pieces that it has done is we have growers that are out there for 14, 16 hours a day, bringing in their berries because we need to bring them in now.
The Cranberry Festival runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rain or Shine.
Congressman Tom Tiffany is officially running for the Republican nomination for governor.
He had a launch party in Central Wisconsin on Wednesday. Civic Media's Isabella Nieto has more.
Tiffany announced his bid for the top state seat on Tuesday and launched his campaign Wednesday night at the Peterson Barn in Warsaw.
Tiffany who currently represents Wisconsin's seventh congressional district pledged to serve out his term in Congress but says he's ready for a new chapter.
I have a record of results. I have the common sense values that we all share and I will give you the leadership you deserve.
In his speech, Tiffany spoke about his upbringing on a dairy farm saying it taught him the value of hard work and budgeting.
And there are no excuses on farm. You pick up the shovel, you pick up the pitch fork and you go to work.
He criticized governor Tony Evers and Democratic leadership in Madison saying the Wisconsin dream is quote slipping away.
Tiffany laid out key priorities if elected governor, including cutting taxes, expanding school choice, supporting law enforcement and restoring what he calls Wisconsin values.
He also promised to freeze property taxes and eliminate what he called Evers 400 year tax increase.

That is what life has been like for former the office showrunner Paul Lieberstein.
The yelling is in reference to Lieberstein's character Toby, who returns to work much to the dismay of his adversary Michael Scott played by Steve Carell, who shouts no no in Toby's face.
It's worth a Google. The writer actor recently spoke at the Paley Museum about its new exhibit for the office.
During his appearance, Lieberstein mentioned the new spin-off the paper.
He is one of the writers on the new show and said he would be open to appearing on the show as an actor if it made sense.
At the moment, Oscar Nunez, who played Oscar, is the only cast member from the office on the paper.
I've seen the pilot of the paper and here's my advice.
I bring back all the office characters.
In Netbo Baby News, Sawyer Spielberg, yes, relation, has signed on to play the lead in a new film called Once Upon a Time in Hell's Kitchen according to Variety.
The film is based on Colin Broderick's book of the same name, Young Spielberg, most recently appeared in materialists, opposite Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal.
The 33-year-old actor is the son of director Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Kepshaw, and will also executive produce the project.
For what it's worth, he is a well-trained actor, but yeah, I'm sure the last name has opened a few doors.
This group all comedy to bring the hilarious Rick Moranis out of retirement.
The Honey I Shrunk the Kid star has announced that he will be part of Space Balls 2, where he will reprise his role as Dark Lord Helmet in the sequel to the 1987 original.
According to Variety, Amazon MGM Studios has announced that production is underway and the film should hit theaters in 2027.
Better Space Balls 2 for a comeback than another Honey I Shrunk sequel.
