A recent report found Wisconsin's roadways ranked 26th in overall road cost effectiveness and condition.
Meteorologist Brittany Merlot explains why the potholes are more persistent now.
Pothole season is mother nature's way of testing our suspension.
With the crazy ups and downs and temperatures we experience in spring, it tears up our streets.
Now potholes are made primarily from the water seeping into the pavement and weakening the soil underneath it.
Then the freeze and thaw makes it worse. Because as water freezes it expands and breaks the pavement.
Then we drive right over it, ripping it apart further.
Any driver who spots a pothole can report it to their county's highway department.
And if your car does get damaged from a pothole, the state or county is not liable for your damages.
You're going to have to get a hold of your insurance company for that.
And hitting a pothole can cause costly damage to your car's tires, wheels, suspension and alignment.
Always scan the roads you can spot a pothole and pay attention to water melting from a snowbank.
Because that can make it hard to see how deep and damaging the pothole really is.
Wisconsin is joining 20 other states filing a preliminary injunction to stop the Trump administration's dismantling of the Department of Education.
Attorney General Josh Call says dismantling the department is an attack on accessible quality education for kids.
He and the coalition assert that the attack on the education department has caused mass layoffs and delays in critical funding for state school systems.
The coalition calls the attacks on the education department illegal and unconstitutional.
The future of the Wisconsin's Veterans Museum is now being fought out in court. Savannah told my Olsen breaks down the dispute.
Now this is a complicated story so bear with me.
The state of Wisconsin wants to buy the building that houses the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. It's on the capital square.
Leaders recognize that after decades leasing that space, the museum has outgrown it and they wanted to expand.
Plus, the contract allegedly had a clause allowing the state the option to buy the building.
But the building's owners, a group of four companies say the state broke its lease.
They claim that one late rent check in 2023 because of a software error makes the whole lease agreement null and void.
Now according to reporting from the cap times, the owners want to turn the building into housing and create a larger space for the Veterans Museum.
That story says the building's manager filed a lawsuit in Washera County and a judge has ruled that it has to be moved to Dane County.
But now the owners are appealing that decision.
Meanwhile, Governor Tony Evers has six million dollars in his budget to start the planning process for the new Veterans Museum and to buy the building because the state government wants to begin construction in 2028.
See what I mean when I said this is a complicated one. Well, keep an eye on this case as it moves forward in court.
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is reminding residents to get caught up on their energy bills before the end of the winter moratorium on April 15th.
Between November 1st and April 15th each year, utility companies are prohibited from disconnecting heating services due to nonpayment.
With the moratorium set to expire soon, residents who have fallen behind on their payments could be at risk of losing service again.
Residents should reach out to their utility providers to establish a payment plan or seek aid through state programs.

Fans of Bruce Springsteen are anxiously awaiting the release of the new biopic about the boss,
Deliver Me From Nowhere, which covers the time in the rock icons life when he took a break from the E Street band
and made his Nebraska album. Sources say filming has wrapped Jeremy Ellen White plays the role of Springsteen,
but another actor really hit home with the boss.
British actor Stephen Graham plays Springsteen's father Douglas Dutch Springsteen.
Graham appeared on the soundtracking podcast where he said after visiting the set,
Springsteen sent him the most beautiful text he'd ever received.
The text from Springsteen thanked the adolescence actor for portraying his father so well and bringing back that memory,
adding that it was better than any award he could ever receive.
Graham said Springsteen is an icon and that the text from him made him cry.
He tried to find a cooler guy than Bruce Springsteen, but you would not be successful.
Another record at Netflix Falls thanks to a new release.
The show Adolescent says already become one of the biggest success stories at the streamer.
Crime drama is about a 13 year old boy accused of killing a girl at his school set in the UK.
It's now the most watched series after pulling in 66 million viewers in less than two weeks.
Tex and Senna's for filmmakers is an issue here in Wisconsin and if Rob Lowe were to weigh in,
he would probably say do everything you can to pass them.
The difference is the outsider's actor would rather they did the same thing in California
where they have no incentives for filmmakers other than proximity to studios, equipment, and talent.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Lowe said all the city officials in Los Angeles
that allowed production to leave the area should be fired.
But if they have to leave, I hope they come to Wisconsin.
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are back as Woody and Buzz in a new toy story, but it might not be like the previous films.
Pixar Studios says the fifth installment might surprise people and have them asking
is this really a toy story film? Not sure what to make of that.
Pixar reps have emphasized there have been four films and they need to find ways to keep the franchise interesting.
Toy Story 5 is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2026.
I don't know that cast is all that important to Marvel fans because they'd probably go to the movies anyway.
But having said that, the studio has released the names of the cast of the Avengers Doomsday.
Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Mackie are back and joining them in the cast will be Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, and Sebastian Stan.
Thursday is expected to hit theaters May 1st of 2026.
