Another protest happened Friday afternoon in Wisconsin Rapids. A small group spread out across the East Riverview Expressway Bridge holding signs by a Spirus Hospital.
I'm protesting the dismantling of our government and the inhumane treatment of the people they're deporting.
She said she's concerned America has turned into an oligarchy. An oligarchy happens when a small group of people control the government.
Our laws are being pushed aside.
Our Constitution in the United States divides the federal government into three branches, legislative, executive, and judicial.
These separate but equal branches of government were written into the Constitution to make sure that no individual small group or single branch would have too much power.
Get out and make your voice heard. It's important. We have to push back. Our democracy is at stake.
Attendees at the protest said they will keep coming every week to raise awareness about what is happening in our government.
The Joint Finance Committee announces public hearings for the next state budget. Joanne Krulat reports.
Lawmakers on the budget panel will travel around the state to gather input on how the state should spend its money.
Public hearings are April 2nd at Kokona High School. April 4th at the Wisconsin State Fair Expo Center in West Alice.
April 28th at Hayward High School. And April 29th at North Central Technical College in Warsaw.
People wanting to speak will need to fill out a form on arrival. Wisconsin is projected to have a $4.3 billion surplus.
Governor Tony Evers proposed by any budget will be extensively reworked by JFC.
Gas prices jumped over 19 cents during the past week for an average of 305 today.
This is 20.4 cents higher than a month ago, but more than 34 cents lower than this time last year.
Officials at gas buddies say the spike in prices has nothing to do with politics or tariffs which remain paused.
The jump was driven by the final step and the transition to summer gasoline across much of the nation, which happens every year.
Demand remains low and we're not likely to see major increases with the ongoing economic uncertainty in the country, at least for now.
Prices in Central Wisconsin today range from 288 to 308 per gallon.
With more on the Supreme Court race, here's Lisa Hale.
Just hours after Brad Schimmel announced that President Donald Trump has endorsed him,
Schimmel's opponent in the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Susan Crawford was in Green Bay and Oshkosh.
You know, it was not a surprise and in fact I thought they'd sewn it up weeks ago.
He's obviously been in the pocket of Elon Musk for many months now.
Musk has basically taken over the financing of his campaign.
So it's just more evidence that Brad Schimmel is running this race to try to push apart as an agenda to the Wisconsin Supreme Court and turn the Supreme Court into an arm of, you know, the doge agenda.
Crawford kicked off a 10 day 2400 mile 21 county campaign tour of the state on Saturday.
The new main entrance to the Wood County Courthouse is open starting today.
The previously used entrance will be closed and temporary signage will direct everyone to use the new location.

Around 30 people gathered at the Iron Warehouse in Wassa on Saturday attending a rally for the Supreme Court race.
While attendees waited for Brad Schimmel to arrive, campaign staff played the interview that was livestreamed on X, formerly known as Twitter, between Elon Musk and Brad Schimmel.
Senator Ron Johnson was also in on the interview.
Johnson thanked Musk for his financial assistance with both Trump's presidential campaign as well as Schimmel's current run for Supreme Court.
Musk encouraged people to tell Wisconsinites to vote.
After waiting close to an hour, attendees heard from Brad Schimmel for about 15 minutes.
He chastised his opponents campaign for taking money from billionaires, his response to money from Musk.
It is hard to get that message to all the voters, so I'm grateful for help that's come in to give me air support to help expand that message.
Schimmel invited everyone to his watch party on April 1st.
This spring election is Tuesday, April 1st.
Poles will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., early voting is already underway.
Attendees at Friday's protest in Wisconsin Rapids held signs saying thank you federal workers and no lying king.
Another called out Senator Ron Johnson and Derek Van Orden hiding from voters.
Several signs being held by those on the East Riverview Expressway Bridge protested taking rights away from women.
One stating, women's rights are human rights.
I want to make sure that people know that a vote for Susan Crawford is a vote to protect women's rights or civil rights.
She said that Crawford's opponent wants to take the laws backwards.
I don't want somebody that's going to get in on this Supreme Court that's supporting a law from the 1800s.
I mean, we've come a long way and so I just don't want to go backwards.
I want to keep going forward.
She also gave her opinion on the constitutional amendment on the ballot.
I would encourage everybody to vote no on the amendment because all it is is a voter suppression attempt.
The spring election is Tuesday, April 1st. Poles are open from 7 a.m. till 8 p.m., early voting is already taking place.
Check with your local clerk for early voting hours.
Inmates in Wood County have now been moved into the new jail facility.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office posted on Saturday that all inmates housed in the old jail have been moved.
There were no incidents during the process that took several hours.
Their next step will be to transport all inmates back into the county that are being housed elsewhere in the state.
Demolishing the old jail is the next phase of the project.
They will also be working to develop more parking around the courthouse.
These next steps could cause some road closures or traffic delays in the area.

We have been unbelievable all year.
Top to bottom.
This team has had so much depth.
There's so much talent everywhere to just be able to come out on top and prove it time and time again.
And then to really prove it in a game like this.
And this is a huge adversity that we had to go through.
And to be able to still come out on top to show us how incredible of a group this is.
And I couldn't be happy enough for us.
It's the eighth time the Badgers have won the Women's National Title under head coach Mark Johnson, who praised Sims Performance.

The director hasn't had a new release since 2021's Licorice Pizza.
A teaser trailer just dropped for the film, One Battle After Another.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, and Peniccio Del Toro.
The film tells the story of a group of ex-revolutionaries who rescue one of their colleagues' daughters.
One battle after another is expected in theaters in September of this year.
Remember when politicians used to actually step down after scandals?
There was Illinois Congressman Dan Raston Kowski's horribly divisive postage stamp scandal that led to his exit from politics.
And of course, Al Franken, who stepped down years ago after a controversial photo.
I'm sure there were others too.
Raston Kowski is a terrible actor, but luckily Al Franken still has chops.
He is headed back to the Senate this time in a fictitious role on the show Residents, a mystery that dropped on Netflix last week.
I don't usually break news here, even if it's entertainment related, but there is always an exception.
Banna White, who has been turning letters on Wheel of Fortune for 43 years, recently disclosed to Drew Barrymore on her talk show that she has worn over 8,000 dresses.
That's almost 1,000 more than Pat Sagek recently confessed to wearing.
The beloved 68-year-old White says she's never taken a dress home, but the show does lend them out to her occasionally for big events.
The wardrobe disclosure comes after White confessed to only working 34 days a year.
What is the secret to keeping a show on the air for a long stretch?
Many would say it's to keep infusing it with fresh talent, whether it be writing, producing, or casting.
The Emmy-winning show Only Murders in the Building has adapted that formula as they've added many actors over the years.
The most recent addition to the cast will be Kristoff Waltz.
Variety reports that the two-time Oscar winner will join the show for season 5.
It looks like there will be a season 3 of Severance, the hit show that dropped its season 2 finale last week.
Director and executive producer Ben Stiller say there will not be as long a wait for season 3 after there was a huge gap in between seasons 1 and 2.
Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Apple TV show has been a giant hit for the streamer, which shouldn't be a surprise given 35 people have producer credits, including Ben Stiller and star Adam Scott.
