A wasa man sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute
meth and cocaine.
50-year-old Troy A. Olson was sentenced Wednesday for his role in a meth and fetamine and cocaine
trafficking organization.
Olson was a middleman essential to the functioning of the organization.
Eight others were charged in connection to this case.
Four people have already faced trial and have been sentenced.
Four others have pleaded guilty and are scheduled to be sentenced in the coming months.
Olson is sentenced to 45 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
According to the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, one in three Christmas tree fires happen in January.
The city will be having Christmas tree pickup from January 20th through the 24th.
You'll need to have your tree on the curb by the 20th and it must be free of all items, including decorations, lights, tinsel, and garland.
You can help brighten Valentine's Day for veterans by sending Valentine's Day cards to those living in veteran homes across Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is asking people to help show our veterans how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice.
This will be the third year of a new tradition and helps brighten the day for veterans living and housing and recovery program locations in Chippewa Falls, Green Bay, and Union Grove.

Local teen actors will perform two shows on January 17th in the Fine Arts Center of the Library.

It is mighty cold and as temperatures drop into the single digits and below this week and next, UW Health Kids has essential safety reminders to keep the young ones safe in winter weather.
Resell Ithun, the Child Safety and Injury Prevention Manager for UW Health Kids, says many winter injuries are preventable.
She reminds families to let children come indoors periodically to prevent hypothermia or frostbite, wear sunscreen and stay hydrated even in the cold.
Indoors make sure that there's a carbon monoxide detector on every floor including sleeping areas.
United Way is looking for volunteers for their point in time or pit count next week.
This semi-annual survey seeks to gather a snapshot of homelessness in every community on a single night.
Volunteers will canvas Southwood County to record the number of people experiencing homelessness locally and offer resources as available.
It will be on Wednesday, January 22nd beginning at 11pm. The count will wrap up in the early hours of Thursday, January 23rd.
Anyone can volunteer and you'll usually go out in pairs. If you're interested in helping, you can contact Ben Eberline at United Way by calling 715-421-0390.
The warming house at Witter Park is now open for the season. They'll be open Monday through Friday from 5 to 7pm.
On the weekends and weekdays when school is not in session, they'll be open from 1 to 7pm.
There are a limited number of skates available to use at no cost. They'll also have hot chocolate available for purchase.

Unfortunately, for joke purposes, the film did well and led the way this past weekend with over 15 million at the gate, after pulling in actually better reviews than the first installment.
It was the only film released this past weekend that opened wide. Following this week's number one to round out the top five,
our sequels, prequels, and a famous tragic villain that have all been reviewed well and are showing some box office legs.
It was Mufasa the Lion King coming in second place with just over 13 million in sales and its fourth week of release.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 finished with 11 million at the box office, also in its fourth week on the big screen,
focus features Nosferatu finished in fourth place with 6.8 million at the box office.
Moana 2 finished in the number five spot with 6.5 million at the box office in its seventh week of release.
The show must go on, despite wildfires continuing to burn, production will start up again in Los Angeles.
After being put on hold last week, variety reports that shows like Jimmy Kimmel live and CIS origins and the neighborhood will resume production.
Other shows like hacks, suits LA, Ted and Amazon's Fallout have not resumed production after being affected last week.
Hollywood continues to rally around the victims of the LA fires.
The latest organization to donate money is the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of TV and radio artists.
SAG After had closed its offices due to the fires, which started January 7th.
The Union also postponed its in-person award-nominating ceremony.
SAG After President actress Fran Drescher offered support to victims and those who have lost their homes and announced her union would donate $1 million to victims through the SAG After Foundation.
It's one thing not to advance in a nationally televised singing competition show.
It's another thing to storm off when you're eliminated and it's still another thing to do it dressed as a toad.
Macy Gray is a Grammy-winning artist on the masked singer where her identity was concealed that she was referred to as toad in a hole, also known as a disgusting name for a breakfast plate.
Gray eventually came back for the Q&A where she said, you know, I've been singing for a long time and now I'm a toad.
Ouch, at least she got paid.
Timothy Shalamey will not only host Saturday Night Live in January, he will also be the musical guest.
SAG announced the actor will make his third appearance as host January 25th.
In addition to receiving rave reviews for his acting in the Bob Dylan biopic, a complete unknown, the actor has also been lauded for his singing.
Shalamey says he spent five years preparing for the role, which included singing lessons and was adamant about not lip syncing.
