A three-month-old child died in a marathon county hospital and a 27-year-old man is in custody.
Emergency responders received a medical call for a three-month-old unresponsive child on November 20th in the town of Norrie.
The baby was transported to the hospital but despite all medical efforts died after two days there.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on a charge of first-degree reckless homicide.
He is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for February 20th.
A Dane County judge has struck down the Wisconsin Act 10 law restoring collective bargaining rights for public workers across the state.
Earlier this year, judge Jacob Frost had ruled that parts of the law were unenforceable.
Yesterday's ruling strikes down arguably the most crucial part of Act 10, which barred collective bargaining rights for public workers.
Since then, Wisconsin has faced a worsening teacher shortage, especially because they receive worse benefits here than in other states.

If you've received a call that seems to be from the Wood County Sheriff's Department saying you have a warrant for failure to appear for jury duty, this is a scam.
The people calling say they're from the sheriff's office and the number they're calling from shows up on your phone as 715-421-8700.
Yes, that is the primary phone number for the sheriff's department, but the people calling you are doing what is known as caller ID spoofing.
They intentionally alter the information displayed on your caller ID to impersonate the sheriff's department.
Do not provide any personal information to these callers. The sheriff's department is not making these calls.
If you receive a call that seems off, hang up and call the sheriff's office directly.
A recent broadband now report found that Wisconsin is one of the worst states in the country when it comes to broadband internet access.
According to the findings, less than 80% of residents had access to broadband or high-speed internet, ranking the state 45th for access.
State officials have been undertaking efforts to increase access, including hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for broadband infrastructure projects.
Many of these projects are still in the construction phase and may not be completed for a couple of years.
Gift cards are one of the most popular gifts around the holidays, but be careful when you're buying them.
Wisconsin Consumer Protection Director Michelle Reinen says criminals have ways to take money out of those cards if you're not careful.
Only buy gift cards directly from the retailer and inspect the cards before you buy them to see if safety features are still in place, and never use a gift card to pay someone over the phone.
That's one of the favorite ways for criminals to take your money.
We have more information about that pizza shop in southwestern Wisconsin, where people were given food that contained THC.
More people got sick than previously thought. Here's Savannah tome Olsen.
An update on that bizarre story where people were accidentally given pizza lace with THC. It happened back in October in Stoughton.
Turns out, a staff member from Famous Yeti's Pizza was cooking in a shared industrial kitchen where people have their own separate kitchen rooms.
When they ran out of cooking oil, they went searching from some from one of their neighbors. They grabbed what they thought was cooking oil, but was clearly labeled THC oil. They just didn't see that label.
The oil was completely legal, by the way. All this is according to Public Health Madison, Dane County.
Officials said they started to put together what happened when someone who had to go to the hospital said it felt like they'd eaten an edible.
A new report from Health Officials says at least 85 people had symptoms and more than 30 had to seek medical attention.
At first, they thought it only affected pizza, but now they know the THC made it into sandwiches and cheese bread too.
Three Wisconsinites have contracted salmonella from cucumbers sold in the Badger State. With more, here's Derek Tritz.
65 other people have been infected across 18 other states according to the CDC.
The cucumbers can be traced back to a company named Sunfed Produce, and were shipped to 26 states, including Wisconsin, between October 12th and November 26th, according to the FDA.
The Wisconsin DHS alongside other state and federal partners are currently investigating further into this multi-state outbreak.
While the cucumbers have been recalled, the DHS recommends Wisconsinites to check their home for contaminated cucumbers.
These can be identified by a Sunfed sticker on individual cucumbers.
If you are unsure whether cucumbers you bought are part of the recall, the DHS recommends contacting the store you purchased them from.
The largest beekeeping conference in Central Wisconsin will happen at Midstate Technical College in January.
Midstate and the Central Wisconsin Beekeeping Association are partnering to host BeakMeet 2025 on January 25th at the Midstate campus in Wisconsin Rapids.
They'll have a whole host of guest speakers and sessions to help you improve your honey production and beekeeping skills.

Wisconsin Democrats are split over President Biden's pardon of his son Hunter. Here's Stuart J. Wattles.
Senator Tammy Baldwin and Congressman Mark Polkhan have voiced criticism about the decision.
Baldwin said that presidential pardons should not be used for personal or political gain.
Polkhan raised concerns about potential repercussions during Trump's presidency.
Most Wisconsin Republicans are blasting the pardon plan that absolves Hunter of crimes going back to 2014.
Wisconsin farmers are losing hope that a new farm bill or an extension on the current farm bill will be approved during the final days of the year.
The United States Congress will return to session on Tuesday with about two weeks to approve another farm bill extension or a new farm bill entirely.
But experts believe there will be no movement on the bill until the next Congress.
The bill was a major topic in the final days of Wisconsin Senate race and provides support for the farming industry like crop insurance and sustainable farming assistance.
