Governor Evers has Wisconsin's system of checks and balances is rightfully restored.
The state Supreme Court ruled Friday, the legislature's joint finance committee, overstepped
its authority while holding up spending that had already been approved.
It could be funding for conservation land purchases and early childhood literacy.
Global clerks can use ballot drop boxes as they see fit after a Wisconsin Supreme Court
ruling Friday.
The ruling was expected after the court's liberal justices signaled their thoughts during
oral arguments in May.
It could make a big difference in the November election.
Wisconsin is one of just a few states expected to decide the presidential race.
Wisconsin School Superintendent says the end of parts of Act 10 will have a profound impact
on the state's schools and teachers, a Dane County judge struck down parts of the
13 year old law last week.
It's not clear how the ruling will be implemented.
It's almost certainly going to be appealed to the state Supreme Court.
33,000 American farm workers suffered heat-related illness and injuries between 2011 and 2022.
Samantha Guerrero is a community organizer who says farm workers need help.
They are continuously left out of having protections and that of conversations of what
are their needs and how can we better serve them?
The Biden administration is proposing mandatory rest breaks, shade, and clean drinking water
for farm workers.

The hunt for a man considered armed and dangerous continues in the Stratford area.
Police asked the public for help, locating Bartholomew Bart Baman, age 35, wanted for
a Department of Corrections felony warrant.
On Saturday they located his Maroon 2014 Ford Fusion, just west of Stratford.
Officials believe him to be on foot and hiding in the Stratford area north of Marshfield.
Baman is believed to be armed with a pistol.
He was last seen yesterday around 9 a.m. with no shirt and wearing tan shorts.
Baman is 5'7", 180 pounds, with dark hair and heavily tattooed.
If you see him immediately call 911, a significant law enforcement presence remains in the area.
You won't be able to fly directly to Orlando from the Central Wisconsin Airport after August.
A VLO Airlines announced it will discontinue service from CWA Effective August 31st.
There have been several incidents in the area of valuable items stolen from inside vehicles
and a few cases of the vehicles themselves being stolen.
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is reminding people of the importance of locking
your vehicles to prevent thefts and break-ins, always lock your doors, even if you're
just stepping away for a moment.
If you don't leave valuable items in plain sight, if you must leave them in the vehicle,
store them in the trunk or cover them up, park in well-lit areas and if possible in a locked garage,
if you're able to consider installing home security cameras, taking these steps can reduce
your chances of becoming a victim of vehicle theft or break-ins.
Applications are now available from the Miss Wisconsin Rapids Scholarship Organization.
Young ladies ages 18 to 27 can compete for Miss Wisconsin Rapids and ages 14 to 17 for
Miss Teen.

There's road work scheduled on the West Riverview Expressway over the next few weeks.
There'll be single-lane closures in the northbound lanes between Wilson Street and Edgewood
Place beginning today.
City crews will be patching concrete pavement between now and Friday, July 26th.
Please use caution and expect possible delays.
Area teens can have time in the studio today at McMillan Memorial Library.
The studio is open to teens from noon to three today.
Following that, if you have a hold in your favorite shirt, they can fix it at the textile
repair shop from three to six today.
Just bring in your item that needs a reasonable amount of repair and they'll do their best
to patch it for you.
Tomorrow, the library will have summer family fun at the Wisconsin Rapids Zoo from one
to two.
Bring the kids for bubbles, sidewalk chalk and other outdoor fun activities.

Gas prices rose 4.6 cents over the past week.
The average today is $3.32 per gallon.
This is 8.5 cents higher than a month ago, but over two cents lower than this time last
year.
Patrick Dahan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said the national average has nudged
higher as oil prices have continued to push toward multi-month highs.
While this hasn't been a huge jump, it's a reminder that hurricane season could play
a role in prices in the near future.
He said as we approach August and the peak of hurricane season, there's a risk of the
national average surging temporarily if a major storm happens in the wrong place.
Prices in central Wisconsin today range from $3.23 to $3.29 per gallon.
More or less than one week away from the Rudolph Volunteer Fire Department Street Dance,
the Parade Down Main Street begins at $3.30 on Saturday, Southbound Place from 5 to 10.

The Brewers are back home after a road trip to Colorado and California.
They beat the Dodgers, nine to two yesterday, to finish three and four for the trip.
They also avoided being swept by the Dodgers, center-fielder Blake Perkins, coming up with
a home run and was asked what Pat Murphy says about how they've managed to not lose
more than three games in a row this season.
The Murph says it a lot and the Ellie says it a lot, I think, with the way our team is
comprised.
Like, we're able to make the lows shorter, you know, just playing team baseball is a different
guy.

The reason we picked them up, the front office scouted him, looked at him, see where he's
at and felt like the reason he could help is because his experience, he's not going
to give in.

Welch told the plan, Bree uncut podcast, she's grateful for the opportunity and says, I say
something silly and my life has changed.
Isn't God great?
Country music star Zach Bryan is the latest to buy into the craze when he pulled Welch
on stage during one of his concerts and she performed the move for the entire audience.
We have so much to learn from Haley.
When asked what her parents and family think the Huck Tua girl said, they know how I am
because you never know what comes out of my mouth.

For what it's worth, that's the same sound someone makes when given the Heimlich maneuver.
The 4th of July typically means a big weekend at the summer box office, this year should
not disappoint.
Opening this weekend is Disney Pixar's Despicable Me 4, which is expected to be the film
that finally knocks off Inside Out 2 from the top spot.
The most recent installment is pulling a not quite fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but
the franchise has enough street cred with audiences to put the butts in the seats.
The Despicable Me 4 stars Steve Carell, Kristen Wigg and Miranda Cosgrove.
Another highly anticipated opening is Maxine, a film about a young aspiring actress in
1980s Hollywood that gets drawn into the world of adult films all while a serial killer
haunts the LA Streets.
If you want to watch a moving picture from the comfort of your own home, Eddie Murphy stars
in Beverly Hills Cop, Axel F, which is now available to stream on Netflix.
The film is receiving a fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes and has some of the same old cast
members, including Judge Reinhold and John Ashton, and has added a fresh face in Joseph
Gordon Levitt.

Matthew Perry had over $1.5 million in his personal bank account at the time of his
death.
People magazine reports that the late actor wanted his items to be put in an account named
the Alvi Singer Living Trust.
Alvi Singer was the name of Woody Allen's character in Annie Hall.
His full list of assets has not yet been disclosed, and investigation into Perry's death by
the LAPD, DEA, and US Postal Inspector is nearing a conclusion.
There is nothing like being on a reality competition show as a celebrity contestant and then
wanting nothing to do with it, such as the case with Jason Maraz.
He told Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner's On Me podcast that he thought he would only
be part of the show for two or three weeks before being voted off, but then realized he
was one of the better dancers and would be there the entire time.
He says he missed his cat so much he wanted out and started asking his friends not to vote
for him.
Despite this, he still made it to the final round, not a fan of cats, but I admire the
conviction.
