Thursday, November 13th, from 5.30pm to 9.30pm, there's a basic life support CPR course over at North Central Technical College in Philips.
This is an American Heart Association approved course which covers adult and pediatric CPR and FBAO, two rescue CPR, berry devices and AED.
The course focuses on the needs of the professional caregiver and successful completion includes American Heart Association certification that is valid for two years.
A textbook is required which can be purchased at NTC's campus store. The cost of class is $40 plus textbook.

What exactly is MoVember? Lisa Hale explains.
In November, attention turns to men with a movement called MoVember.
It brings attention to men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's mental health.
A Cleveland Clinic study found that 44% of men do not get a yearly physical, many forego regular screenings and generally avoid going to the doctor if they can help it.
They to care urologist Dr. Andrew Mays.
Men have unique obstacles.
We see that men are less likely to see their primary care physician, less likely to have their annual wellness.
Really check in and make sure their health and wellness are where they need it to be.
Mays said men of all ages should make their yearly visits to the doctor, but when a man hits 50, it becomes critical to have regular screenings for prostate cancer.
Testicular cancer and colorectal cancer.
If we find a problem early, we can easily detect and then hopefully treat that, whether it's with the surgery or radiation or some degree of intervention that not only optimizes their quality of life, and then obviously the longevity of life.
According to the Wisconsin Cancer Reporting System, the most frequently diagnosed cancer among Wisconsin men is prostate cancer, making up 23% of all new cancer diagnosis in Wisconsin men.

November is lung cancer awareness month, Isabell Nieto has more.
According to the American Lung Association, more than 35 million Americans live with lung disease.
Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in the United States, not counting skin cancer, right behind breast cancer for women and prostate cancer for men.
Someone is diagnosed with lung cancer in the U.S. about every two minutes, with around 360 deaths per day.
That means roughly one in five cancer deaths are due to lung cancer.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends yearly lung cancer screenings, for anyone who is between 50 and 80 years old, has a 20-packed year or more smoking history and smokes now or has quit within the past 15 years.
