With local news on 540WAUK on 100.3 FM, I'm Stuart J. Wattles, a Saturday morning house fire near 9th and orchard in Milwaukee, forced 11 people from their homes.
No one was heard.
The Milwaukee Fire Department says crews found the fire in the attic.
Nine people were evacuated from the house while firefighters worked the scene.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what started that fire.
A Milwaukee Alder Woman says she'll remove funding for the city's license plate reader cameras from next year's budget unless people are given a chance to weigh in on the program.
Marina Dimitrievic made the announcement during a Fire and Police Commission meeting focused on the Milwaukee Police Department's use of flock cameras.
She and Alderman Alex Brower also plan to introduce a charter change that would require future automated license plate reader contracts to come before the city council for approval.
Commissioners say they'll meet with the city attorney to discuss possible next steps.

The future of Greenfield Police Chief J. Johnson is now in the hands of the city's Police and Fire Commission.
The mayor there, Michael Nitski, is seeking Johnson's removal after a city investigation.
Johnson also faces four felony charges and a misdemeanor in a separate criminal case.
Prosecutors alleged Johnson used police equipment for a personal purpose during his divorce and later destroyed records or phone data connected to the investigation.
Johnson has not been convicted.
The case is still pending.
More Milwaukee public school students could soon get access to college level classes while they're still in high school.
MPS has been picked to join a new nationwide network that plans to help one million students take advanced coursework.
The district says they'll work over the next three years to increase participation in higher-level courses, with a focus on low-income students and others who have been historically underrepresented.

The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is asking Governor Tony Evers to declare a state disaster following last month's natural gas liquid spill in Iron County.
Line 5 was shut down on August 25th after an unoccupied subcontractor truck rolled into an open excavation site near Saxon and struck the pipeline, releasing about 1.3 million gallons of natural gas liquids.
Enbridge returned the pipeline to service last weekend using a temporary bypass.
However, the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources had asked the company to halt construction of the bypass in a letter on September 9th, saying it did not have the required permits.
This bill happened about three miles from the Bad River Reservation.
Chairwoman Liz Arbuckle says the tribe plans to declare it as a disaster and wants the state to do the same.

This is where our people have always hunted, fished, gathered, lived,
and all of that's at risk.
Enbridge says its bypass work was consistent with existing permit conditions or its application to amend a stormwater permit.
The company says it remains in contact with the DNR and that soil and water monitoring continues at the spill site.

Wisconsin food banks could get a big financial boost next year.
Civic media's James Kelly tells us how nonprofits can apply for a piece of the $5 million pie.
A number of food banks across the state will receive state grant funding to support their operations for 2027.
According to a press release, $5 million in funding is available through the Food Security and Wisconsin Products grant program.
It's the second year of funding through the grant program, which seeks to support nonprofits as the demand for food assistance services increases, as well as the state's agricultural industry by using that funding to purchase food from Wisconsin producers.

Madison police are a step closer to equipping officers with body cameras after years of delay.
Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway's proposed 2027 capital budget includes more than $400,000 to fund the initial purchase of equipment for the force.
Chief John Patterson told Channel 3000 News the technology will boost transparency, noting that Madison has been one of the few departments nationwide without body cams.
The proposal follows a successful 90-day pilot program in the North District.
