Another competency examination has been ordered for a 27-year-old Lincoln County man who allegedly made bomb threats for sites in Fond du Lac last November.

During a hearing in Fond du Lac County Court in September, it was revealed that competency evaluation for Nicholas Wolfe had found him competent.

The prosecution still had concerns about the Tomahawk man's competency, and Wolfe changed his pleas to not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

During a status hearing on Monday, the court accepted a request

for another competency evaluation.

Wisconsin voters made history yesterday by electing our state's first black governor.

Democrat David Crowley defeated Republican Tom Tiffany in Wisconsin's gubernatorial race.

Crowley's victory also marks the first time in our state's 178-year history that Democrats will hold the governor's office for more than eight consecutive years.

Tiffany conceded the race by 9.30 last night.

He congratulated Crowley on his victory, saying,

While we have our differences, we both love this great state, and I wish him and his family the very best as he prepares to serve as Wisconsin's next governor.

Shortly afterward, David Crowley thanked Wisconsin voters on social media, saying in part, thank you for believing in me, serving as your governor will be the honor of a lifetime.

Wisconsin voters also secured the trifecta Democrats were hoping for, gaining the majority in both chambers of the state legislature.

Analysts say Wisconsin's results are part of a blue wave that swept the nation in the midterm elections, a sign that voters are tired of a broken political system, rising costs, and healthcare that's becoming out of reach.

In other news, the former city manager of two rivers has now been arrested for a third time in three days.

Police arrested Kyle Cordell on Sunday for domestic abuse charges.

He was arrested again the following day for violating the domestic abuse 72-hour no-contact rule and arrested again yesterday after violating the same rule for a second time since it was issued.

Cordell faces two additional counts of bail jumping and was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail.

A driver is dead after crashing their car into a house in Oshkosh early this week.

The car left the road and went into a home around 2 a.m.

Firefighters attempted life-saving efforts, but the person died due to their injuries.

No one in the house was injured, and the driver was alone in their vehicle.

After a roller coaster of a campaign that included dropping out of the race for Wisconsin governor, then getting back in again, Democrat David Crowley defeated Republican Tom Tiffany to become Wisconsin's next governor.

It was a history-making victory with Crowley becoming Wisconsin's first black governor in what became the most expensive governor's race in state history, according to analysis from Wispolitics.

At age 40, Crowley will also be the youngest governor of our state in nearly a century.

Democrats swept every statewide race on the ballot, flipped two congressional seats, and took control of both sides of the state legislature for the first time in 16 years.

Governor Tony Evers called Crowley a comeback kid,

applauding the candidates rise from the poorest zip code in Wisconsin to be elected to the state's top leader.

Congressman Tom Tiffany congratulated Crowley in his concession speech less than two hours after the polls closed.

Tiffany said, quote, while we have our differences, we both love this great state.

And I wish him and his family the very best as he prepares to serve as Wisconsin's next governor.

Analysts tied Tiffany's defeat as well as other Republican losses to the record low approval rating of President Donald Trump who endorsed Tiffany.

Wisconsin voters followed a similar wave seen across the country as Democrats unseated long-term Republican candidates.

For the first time in 16 years, Democrats will have the majority in both chambers of the state legislature, winning the trifecta Democrats were after.

In other closely watched races around the state, Rebecca Cook defeated Derek Van Orden in a rematch for the District 3 seat.

Democrat Mitchell Berman claimed victory over Republican U.S.

Representative Ryan Stile for Wisconsin's first congressional district.

race, but incumbent Tony Weed defeated his Democratic challenger, Rick Crossen, in Wisconsin's 8th congressional district.

And that's your state news update.
