Oshkosh police use a department drone to locate a man who fled on foot after officers tried to stop a suspicious vehicle early Tuesday.

Officers responded to a call for service involving a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of West Haven Drive about 12 10 a.m.

on October 20th when officers attempted to make contact with a male driver who officers knew had previously fled from them.

He fled on foot into a nearby wooded area where

where he attempted to hide from law enforcement.

Officers established a perimeter and deployed a department drone to assist in locating the suspect.

Using the drone's aerial perspective and infrared technology, officers were able to search the wooded area and locate the individual from above.

When the suspect attempted to flee again, the drone continued to track his movements in real time.

Officers on the ground received direction to his location from the officer operating the drone and took the man into custody.

So many petition signatures to the Winne County School District's administrative assistant was appropriate.

According to organizers of a school board recall effort, Corey Zeller and Martin Bredhauer have filed an appeal with the Wisconsin Elections Commission after school board clerk Carrie Flagg deemed the petitions invalid because physical copies were never provided to her.

The petitions seek to force a recall election of School Board President Katie Calvarts and Vice President Dean Ackman.

Organizers say they collected more than 2,300 signatures against each board member more than the 1,475 required.

The WEC will make a decision in the case at an upcoming meeting.

A teacher at a grand chute private school pleaded not guilty Tuesday and out of gamey county court to allegedly having sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy.

32-year-old Keisha Stewart pleaded not guilty to three counts, including second-degree sexual assault of a child and sexual misconduct by a school staff member.

No trial date was set.

A plea hearing was set for December 10th, according to court records.

The Monashia Police Department said Stewart worked at fundamental school, which is not a part of the Monashia Joint School District.

According to the criminal complaint, the school alerted police after finding a letter from Stuart to the teenager, which raised suspicions.

The boy, quote, confirmed that the relationship with his teacher became inappropriate, unquote.

On his phone, authorities found video of Stuart removing her clothing.

He then described the various sex acts the two engaged in.

When police arrested Stuart, she declined to comment.

The Fonda-Line County Board recently approved the creation of four additional corrections officer positions

for the Sheriff's Office jail division.

Bob Nelson has more for Civic Media News.

County Executive Sam Kaufman says state administrative code now requires correction officers to watch over juveniles who are restrained or on suicide watch in the county's juvenile detention center.

The next step would be for the board to approve the funding for those positions in the 2027

county budget.

Coppen notes the county makes about 900,000 to a million dollars a year housing juveniles from other counties in the facility.

He says there is a bigger picture to consider when it comes to building a new jail.

But why it's a bigger picture is because as they talked about the jail project the question I will have is

do we want to build a juvenile facility?"

He says the county will have to consider whether it might be less expensive to house those juveniles in facilities outside the county.

A Wisconsin school district was recently scammed out of nearly $100,000 in what authorities are calling cyber theft.

School leaders say the crime happened last August after the business manager processed what's described as an unusual payment request from a third party.

Officials say the district put the business manager on leave after finding they lost $92,000 to a cyber crime.

They say the step is not a determination of wrongdoing.

The district is now working with police, attorneys and insurance trying to recover the lost taxpayer funds.

The UW-Madison Board of Regents is moving forward with plans to build new

residence halls to help house its growing student body.

The university is currently operating dorms at 115% capacity, forcing many students into crowded triples or converted lounge spaces.

To address the shortage, the school plans to form a public-private partnership for all electric energy-efficient housing expected to open by fall of 2029.

Campus leaders say the new facilities will ease housing pressure and restore dedicated student study areas, pending final state legislative approval.

A Wisconsin man was buried alive yesterday when a six-foot-deep trench collapsed in on him in the town of Cicero.

The 44-year-old was laying piped to a barn on his property when the walls of the trench gave way.

Wisconsin's two U.S.

senators are confirming their Milwaukee offices received suspicious mail containing unknown substances yesterday.

Station officials report the debate is produced by WISN TV in partnership with WIS Politics.

Governor Tony Evers is formalizing a new international partnership to boost economic and educational ties between Wisconsin and France.

Evers signed a sister-state agreement this week with officials from France's Brejean-Franç-Comté region during a ceremony at the state capitol.

The deal marks Wisconsin's seventh sister-state connection and the first new agreement of its kind in 36 years.
