She's
You ought to see my Susie, a pretty girl as she.
She lives out on the other side of town.
She likes to play with her glass side and chew her chewing gum.
The nights when I come calling at her home.
Well, she's fat, she's lazy, she's cock-eyed, she's crazy.
Still, she means
Apple's speech is pumpkin pie
Who's not ready?
Holler I, let's awfully hide and see Apple's speech is pumpkin
Apple's Peach is Pumpkin Pie.
Who's not ready?
Hey, how about that one I have a good morning everybody happy October 4th.
It's a beautiful Sunday today Hopefully you're all happy well and safe our Sunday morning mini poker fest brought to you as usual by John Kathy Plesinski That's mr. Mrs. P at mr. Mrs. P's eatery on Ripon's west side.
Have you been there lately?
Started off with something.
Sounds good to eat.
Apple peaches, pumpkin pie.
Of course, apples and galore for making pie.
I'm sure Kathy and Jack are making a lot of delicious things in the kitchen there too.
Maybe they're using apples and peaches and pumpkin.
I don't know what they're using, but whatever they make, it sure is good.
Joe and Kathy say, come on in today.
They'll be opening up in about another, oh, 24 minutes or so.
Gotta be about right time to get over there.
Seven o'clock until two this afternoon, close Mondays and Tuesdays.
Tommy Hayes in the band are playing this afternoon from 1 to 430 at Willow Falls in Johnsonville.
And you were all invited out for the monthly We Love To Dance Club Get Together.
They're playing there this afternoon.
Come on over, bring a whole carload, take that fall drive.
And like I say, take Christ with you wherever you go.
But I bet it's still, why don't you get a nice big breakfast at Mr. and Mrs. P's to hold you over or go for a late brunch and then head over
to Johnsonville and have a dancing good time.
Go up to the bandstand and say hi to Tommy and the rest of the group for me.
I would appreciate it.
If you ask them, they might even play this song for you when you get there.
For Joni, Delotta's birthday coming up on the 5th.
Joni, we love you, girl.
From the Kennins, Corky and I, and of course, the big guy, Tommy, too.
It's the playing band polka.
The End

Hey, how about that?
Tom Hayes in the band today from 1 to 430 at Johnsonville.

It's fall dance time in Johnsonville today.
I'd like to send out this song to the little red coming for the big guy from Tommy.
Happy birthday, sweetheart.
Tomorrow, Joni turns 39 again.
We got Julie Lee with Yes Sir, That's My Baby, because that's what Tommy

Mr. and Mrs. Pease is a great place to hang out any day of the week when they're open They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays and just as a reminder
when you come in, if you have a group of eight or more, call ahead and they will set up a table for your gathering.
I've said so many times how many moments our family gets together there.
We love the food because even our little ones in our family, our younger grandchildren, can pick out what they want off the menu.
It is delicious food.
You know, when you get to Mr. and Mrs. Peas, you get a lot of food and it's always reasonably priced.
So come every day, Wednesday through Sunday,
but they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
They will even open up late afternoons on Monday and Tuesdays or any day of the week when you need them for special gatherings like funeral dinners, when you host a dinner after a funeral or a wedding.
anniversary party, birthday party, retirement, no matter what it is, call 920-896-0696 for reservations, catering information, bakery items you want to order, anything, it's all good.
I got my last newsletter in the mail from the current secretary, rather the secretary, that would have been John, my good friend Bernadette Cannon from over in Montgomery.
I recently recorded a little sound bite about Bernie.
and her job.
Let's listen to that.
Taking a little break in between the music here, I got my very good friend Bernadette Kennan, Bernie as I affectionately call her from Mount Calvary.
Bernie, you for many years have been associated with the We Love to Dance Club from a lot of membership from the other side of Lake Winnebago, but all over the country.
Bernadette, how many years have you been the editor of that newsletter?
I've been doing this for eight and a half years, enjoying every bit of it.
But I have to say one thing, if it wouldn't be for each and every one of you making the newsletter what it was, the newsletter wouldn't be.
Without your help, there would not be the newsletter I made.
You encourage me with pictures, with events, everything possible to put in that newsletter with birthdays, anniversaries,
everything.
Everything was all about you.
So you folks made that newsletter for the We Love the Dance Club.
So you're passing the baton on soon and I just want to say I would get a three-month newsletter from Bernie and I could get a lot of information for the dances, our anniversaries and birthdays, obituaries, where the festivals are.
So in the future, well, where would people sign up for membership?
That going to still stay with you and Bob or is that going to go on to somebody too?
Yes, because Robert is a treasurer, the membership will still stay with him and we still will work with you with the emails, notifying you that you have paid, you get that yearly receipt that you can roll anytime from January to September.
How much?
It is eight dollars right now, but you got to realize too, with the cost of the hall increasing, the bands increasing, we may have to look at different ways of increasing the cost.
But that's going to be a board decision.
but also the newsletter may be changing.
We want to save costs there too.
And maybe we'll just leave it to the events.
So Bob won't be going out pole dancing anytime soon.
No, no.
Thanks, Bernie.
By the way, what's your phone number?
People want to call and get some information or do you rather have people write or can they call you?
They can either email at r o b e r n sixty three at Gmail.
or you can call at 920-251-9412.
This has been a paid political commercial.
Anyway, we do love you Bernie, all the work you put in, the sweat and tears, the long hours and very dedicated young lady and
I will surely miss all of our little visits, but I tell you what, if you don't write the newsletter for me anymore, I will tell you this, we will stay in close contact with both her and Robert.
We got one for Bob coming up by Romy Goss.
How about a little bit of Tell Me Sincerely, Bob?
you
you
A little bit of Woody Sorenson on his piano.
I used to play a lot of Woody Office albums when we were live on radio road on the Southwest corner ripping out in the country.
I like Woody Sorenson.
I like that little tingly along with Joe and Castle.
Both of those guys did a great job.
We got a tune coming up here for you then by Jerry Gage in the band.
It's the Gypsy Poga from Warsaw.
Hey, how about an early Jerry Gage band there from Wausau?
One the title of the Gypsy Polka.
Well, here's a song for all you folks going over to Johnsonville today for the Tom Hayes Orchestra from Stratford playing from 1 to 430.
Get on over there, but before you go, stop at Mr. and Mrs. Pease and get something to fill up your little tummy, your energy gas tank there for yourself.
Got enough room to get out there and dance on the dance floor and keep up with everybody this afternoon.
It never ceased to amaze me when I used to play jobs, especially at Johnsonville, how the seniors would come and show up and support the polka bands.
I hope you can do that today.
Better still take some of your kids and grandkids with you and teach them how to do the dance.
Here's one done by a polka family.
A great idea.
It says, let's go polka dancing.
The
they go Hank Gusevich and his mom and dad Gus and Nelly and his brother Freddie and another couple of fellows there making up the band Polka Family very popular back then and still today.
His folks have passed on Freddie no longer plays in the band but you know the rest of the band they do a great Hank Gusevich leader of the band now they do a good job and they travel all over the Midwest and out on the East Coast too.
Well that just about does it for the day.
If you get over to Mr. and Mrs. Pease today, or come back on Wednesdays through next week, the one thing to remember is, have you ever tried a breakfast quiche, a polo skillet, or either one of those, or how about a Greek omelet?
Oh man, that is so good.
Those three are my favorites.
Korky likes a banana bread, French toast.
It really fills their little tummy.
Get on over there today if you get an opportunity.
We'll take you out this one.
When you get over to Johnsonville this afternoon, ask Tom Hays in the band to play this one for you.
We recorded it.
It's rain over Michigan.
Stay tuned for the Country Gospel
The mighty hosts of heaven sing, turn your radio on.

I don't know if you want a real tiny one.
They might even have some of those too if you want.
But if you're looking for gigantic, humongous-sized pumpkins, they got them.
12 varieties of squash.
Corki said, we'll have to try some of those other squash varieties.
I said, okay, I'll cut them in half.
You get the scooper and take the seeds out and I'll bake them.
We have a regular line of progress here that we do.
Everybody helps produce a little bit of work in the kitchen between Cork and I. Anyway, Vanderbake's produce stand.
We know the corn is done for this season in the watermelon, but also the Amish fry pies.
I gotta tell you, that kind of breaks my heart, but you'll come back again in fall.

They are open today from 10 to 5, otherwise 10 to 5, 30 Monday through Saturday.
Vanderbink's for all your outdoor corn stock, yard decoration, pumpkin squash gourds.
You're looking for stuff like that reasonably priced too, I should say.
Good people there.
Gail and Barry Vanderbink.
I want to thank them for being with me this season here.
It seems like we're getting to the close pretty quicker.
Once we get past Halloween, Vanderbrink's will be done till next spring again.
Graphics sign the letter of company with us to the Kelm family.
I always say you gotta love that Kelm family and there's a reason for that and it is because they do so many nice things for the community.

The good folks in Rosendale at the Tower of U.S.
System Living have recently celebrated their fourth anniversary since Chanel Gillian took over the business from Barb Sullivan.
Barb was Sullivan started the business decades ago and ran a top-notch organization helping families
with their senior citizens who needed assisted care.
Now Chanel and her staff do a great job continuing that legacy that Barb Sullivan started.
I tell you, four years seem to have gone by so fast.
I remember the day when Chanel came into the business starting it, working for Barb, in fact, and eventually taking over the controls.
Why don't you consider checking out and getting on the waiting list for your loved ones if they needed assisted care?

Everything I seem to enjoy better with cheese.
My all-time favorite cheese is extra sharp cheddar.
We eat a lot of baby Swiss and cheddar, sharp cheddar, but extra sharp, that's my go-to flavor.

Brewer heating and cooling are with us today and you know like I like to always say there's frost on the pumpkin and the pumpkin season is definitely here.
When you wake up in the morning and you see a little haze out there, early morning fog, the temperatures are changing.
We might have a few nice Indian summer days, but those nights get pretty doggone cool.
Most furnaces are clicking on if you have it set at a certain temperatures.
Ours is set at 70 and the furnace still kicks on early morning just for a little while to take the chill out of the house.
Let brewer heating and cooling keep your family and yourself comfortable this next fall season and into winter and next year.

Last Saturday, Dan Jr.
called me on his way back from Monacoa.
They played way up north.
Had to leave home here in Oshkosh at five o'clock in the morning to play an early morning gig there for a big city festival.
He said he had close to 14,000 people in town for that festival.
He said getting around would have otherwise been a problem.
But the organizers had everything so well set up.
Just like the good folks at Holman Chevrolet Buick GMC.
Randy Sabo and his staff would love to be able to set you behind a brand new set of wheels.
Maybe you want to take a country drive and check out the local color.
Or maybe drive around Lake Winnebago or up toward the North Woods toward Pembein in that area.

Although you could drive from Highway 44 straight through the parking lot all the way around the other side of the building to the assisted level care on Olden Road, and that's also right there in the same building at 749 East Oshkosh Street.

But seeing March in Funeral Homer with us today too.
And I know so many of you folks have called them in the past when a loved one in your family has passed away.
But you know, the one thing about families
is you always want to have somebody close by that can help you.
And budgeting has been here since 1896.
General arrangements used to be nearly the same for every person in a family or community.
For better or worse, things are a lot more complicated today.
There are many choices, costs, and permanent continue to be here for you.
Call anytime at 748-2623 to schedule an appointment.
And thank you for your trust in us.
Can you imagine a family with, say, more than two children?
They got maybe six or even nine or ten kids, and they all cannot agree on how mom or dad's funeral service should be handled, the funeral preparations?
Well, that's why it's a great idea if you have sound, money, and body and mind to get a hold of Chris, Rolanda, and Marissa at Budstein Marchion Funeral Home and talk about pre-funeral arrangements, and you take care of those decisions yourself.
That way there's no arguing later on.
I have eight brothers and sisters and when the folks passed away there was some concern as to what things should be done but then we found out that my mom and dad had pre-funal arrangements to avoid all that controversy.
Contact Butts in March and Funeral Home right here in town.
They'll take good care of your loved ones.

We got a song coming up here by Ray Price.
Could my tears forever flow?
Could my zeal no longer know?
These for sin could not adore.
Thou must save and thou alone.

There you go a little bit of Merle Haggard.
These CDs that I got these artists on.
The CDs will have so many different recording country-western stars on.
The print gets so tiny and tinier.
I think I might have to get a magnifying glass to read all the tiny print.
I thought that was Dolly Parton, but it was not.
But we'll find her, we'll get her in here sooner or later.
I think she is cut number.
Eight, I won't figure it out.
We got Andy Griffiths coming up now.
sent from somewhere to my soul.
Ah, they linger.
Oh, he starts our show every Sunday morning with Turn Your Radio on.
Mr. Andy Griffith, Ben Matlock, Sheriff Andy Taylor, made a lot of movies, a great comic actor plus vocalist too.
Well, I did find Ms.
Dolly, pardon, and her song, Cold of Many Colors, but before we do that, I know it's getting fall weather and some of you might be thinking of putting a light jacket on with those cooler temperatures.
We might get an Indian summer day once in a while.
in the mid to upper 60s, low 70s.
I call that Indian summer.
I really doubt we'll get into 80s and 90s anymore but temperatures are really there.
It will not be uncommon for any of us who take a country drive or coming home from another town or community to see lights in the field from tractors that farmers are working in late into the day harvesting soybeans or corn or whatever they have still or even working up fields.
Gary, Mark and Phil Preby at Preby Sales and Service on Ripon's website are there to assist farm families get the work done quickly and at an affordable rate too.
You want farm machinery that'll last.
I guess the best way for your machinery to last is try to have a building to put it inside over the winter months.
Not all farmers are that fortunate.
Big machinery costs a little bit more money than the smaller ones as you can well guess.
If you're a do-it-yourself mechanic and fix your own machinery, Gary and the part shop can help you out.
Mark in the technical end, where you get into those more computerized computers and tractors, et cetera, and fill in sales for new and used equipment, even the Bobcat zero turn lawn mowers, all different sizes to make your yard work more and grass in the fall less cumbersome.
Contact Pre-B Cells and Services, the three musketeers, Gary, Mark, and Phil.
They are not open the last Saturday of each month.
They are closed.
Otherwise, they are open on Saturdays from 8 till noon.
Stop and see Pre-B Cells and Services on Ripon's West Side.
Monday through Friday is 8 to 6.
Saturday is 8 to noon.
Just keep in mind, the last Saturday of the month, they are closed.
Let's jump into Dolly Parton, for code of many colors.
Now that's not right either.
I don't know what they did.
They mislabeled this CD here for me.
I wish they would not have done that.
Yeah, they got that thing all mixed up.
I'm gonna go to the next cut and see what happens.
I think that's
it.
I recall a box of rags that someone gave us And how my mama put the rags to use There were rags of many colors But every piece was small And I didn't have a coat And it was a way down in the fall
Mama sold their eggs together.
So in every piece we loved, she made my coat of many colors that I was so proud of.
As she sold, she told a story from the Bible.
She had read about a coat of many colors.
Joseph wore and then she said, perhaps this coat will bring you good luck and happiness.
I just couldn't wait to wear it, and Mama blessed it with a kiss.
My coat of many colors that my Mama made for me.
Made only from grapes, but I wore it so proudly.
Although we had no money, while as rich as I could be.
In my coat of many colors, my Mama made
So it patches on my britches And holds in both my shoes In my coat of many colors I hurried off to school Just to find the others laughing Had to make in front of me In my coat of many colors My mama made for me
understand it for I felt I was rich and I told them all the love my mama sold in every stitch and I told them all the story mama told me why she sold and how my coat of many colors was worth more than all their clothes but they didn't
As rich as I could be In my coat of many colors My mama made for me Made just for me
Moses led his flock of sheep, but suddenly, to his surprise, God began to speak.
He said, Moses, oh Moses, take your shoes from off your feet.
Well, I stumbled and I fell But God called out, get up, rise I'll save your soul from hell He said, sinner, oh, sinner Take your shoes from off your feet

Just talked to Wade Kaufman a little while ago.
He was telling me they opened up a brand new field of sweet corn and it's delicious yet.
So if you want some fall sweet corn, they have it available.
And they are open today on Sunday from noon till five.
Tons of fall decorations.
How sale on mums, trees and shrubs.
They have pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, and the corn maze is open too.
So if it's nice out today, and I don't know when we recorded the show, want something to do this afternoon, bring them on over between noon and five, and let the kids see if they can get lost in the cornfield.
Children of the corn.
Remember that movie?
Pumpkins, gourds, squash, corn stalks, all your fall decoration needs, they got it.

He said I'd stop by to find out why you don't come around anymore.
He said you used to be the life of the party, a wild man who can paint the town.
Wondering if that wild man's still around So I said friend, come on in Tell me what you've been
the tree.
Randy Swift.
Nice job there, Randy.
Well, here's a brain teaser for today.
Thinking back, you senior citizens, how many of you can tell me who was the first African-American man to serve on the US Supreme Court?
Who was the first African-American man to serve on the US Supreme Court?
We'll answer that in a question while you think about it.
More music coming up right now, but before I do that,
I want to tell you about my good friends at Maple Crest.
Chad, the whole bunch there.
Chad, Vicki, and Jill, they take care of all the residents at Maple Crest.
It's a wonderful place for you to consider.
If this is going to be a difficult time of the year for you to consider about downsizing, check out Maple Crest, independent living apartments, spacious yet affordable, and you can still come and go as you like.
But when you come to a point where your health needs a little bit more assisted care, you know, getting to the bathroom, getting dressed, getting your food medication, they offer that help too.
No matter what level of stage of your life is in right now, Maple Crest could very well be the best answer for your problems.
748-7300.
I urge you to call there.
You know, I delivered mail in a ribbon area for over 32 years.
And so many of my people that were postal patrons of mine
lived in a country, moved off the farm and moved into assisted living.
It's a wonderful place here, independent living too.
At 150 Douglas Street, I urge you to check it out.
Give them a call and see if there's any openings for the independent apartments or the assisted level if that's what you need.
748-7300.
Until Chad, Jill and Vicki that you listen to the show.
I would really appreciate that.
We got a song done by the manual family.
I put a little asterisk mark on this to remember to play it.
But in answer to my question, who was the first African-American man to serve on the US Supreme Court?
It was Thurgood Marshall.
Yep, that was his name.
Thurgood Marshall.
And that was way back, many years ago.
Way to go Thurgood.
Rumsins prison I am
That's a nice snappy one.
The Manuel family.
We got David Petillo coming up.
One of my favorite all-time male vocalists.
He created heaven.
He made earth.
He made the light.
He told the sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night.
When he saw that what he made was working like it should He made an observation and he said that it was true Looking through the scripture I can see he wasn't through He said I am the great I am, there's nothing I can do
call him the great a-
ages, clip for me This old world is all so full of trouble This old world was so much better

Looking back
Play that song for my little buddy over near Winniconny, Tom Zilgus, good friend of ours for many, many years.
And also you folks out there, they're thinking about a loved one that has passed away recently.
We mourn your loss.
And also for you folks that are under the weather, we hope and pray that you get well real fast.
Michael Crawford, the star of Phantom of the Opera from Chicago from back in the 90s, he's gonna do one entitled On Eagles Wings.
thinking about my good friend Leland Cornwall and Ruthie, they both love this song.
Oh, there's a little bit of bluegrass music there on a sunny morning.
Get together.
I hope you liked that one.
I know I did.
Well, it's almost time to say goodbye.
And before we do that, one of the reminders is a big dance this afternoon at Willow Falls in Johnsonville, one to 430 with the Tom Hays band from Stratford.
It's part of the monthly Get Together by the Wheel of the Dance Club.
Everybody's welcome.
Bring a carload, put on your dancing shoes, and enjoy a fun afternoon of dancing with Tom and his band from Stratford.
When you get to say hi to all the boys in the band from Corky and I, would you please?
Thank you very much.
