the

night

that our flag was

still there.

Plus pastimes, pub and grill.

We've got the band boys.

A lot of musicians that have played with the music connection, in fact, half that band or better part of it were made up musicians from the band boys.

We got one entitled Over the Waves.

you

Little bit of the band boys Jeff Heinz on drums played in that band Neil Zunker played in that band and Brian C. Hafer all three of the four members of music connection.

What do you think about that?

I think that's pretty good We got mr. Mrs. P's with us today.

They just opened the door shortly ago And they're waiting for you to show up for breakfast Anything you want off the menu and the wonderful thing about mr. Mrs. P's is they start everything from scratch and although you sit down at a table

And it doesn't seem like very long your food's there.

It's because everything is ready to go.

They don't have to drag everything out and make extra prep.

It's already there.

You know, they just all they gotta do is fry up the potatoes on the skillet there on the big hot plate and get everything going for coffee's already made.

In fact, you get your coffee served to you before everything else.

Get ahold of Mr. and Mrs. Peace today or tomorrow.

Open Wednesdays through Sundays from 7 till 2.

and today being the first Saturday of October, stop in.

Don't forget to pick up some delicious pastry as you exit the building from the pastry display case when you first come in.

So many wonderful choices, possibilities galore, and wonderful friends too.

It's Mr. and Mrs. Peace.

Call ahead if you're coming with a group of eight or more.

8-9-6-06-9-6-9-2-0.

8-9-6-0-6-9-6.

Just down the road from Mr. and Mrs. Pease, our pals Barry and Gail Vanderbink at Vanderbink's Protostamp.

Although the Amish fry pies and watermelon and corn has had its run already for this season, we know that there are a lot of you folks that like to decorate for Halloween.

They have lots, I mean, many, many tons of pumpkins, gourds, and squash.

12 varieties of squash for you to put up.

A lot of people like to make squash and enjoy it now or freeze a little bit for over the holidays.

And that's what Corky and I do.

We'll get extra squash.

She likes the acorn and the butternut squash, but now she has to choose before...

Another 10 different kinds.

What kind of squash would she like?

Fresh potatoes out of the field are there.

So many of the other fall cooler temperature items are available at Vanderbix Produce Stamps.

Stop and see them today or tomorrow.

They're open every day starting at 10 o'clock, Monday through Saturday, 10 to 5.30, like today, or tomorrow, 10 to 5 in the afternoon.

It's Vanderbrink's for all your outdoor vegetable selections.

Good stuff.

Like I say, the fry fries are done for this season, watermelon and corn.

Get your other stuff at Vanderbrink's.

We got Don Schleis and the band coming up, and they're gonna do a dandy one for ya.

It's the Greenlight Polka.

Reminds me of my driver's exam.

Music playing

you

you

Ah, Don Schleiss and the green light polka all the way from Kiwani, Wisconsin.

We started off our show with the band boys from Wausau.

Let's go back to Wausau and listen to another great band from that area.

It's Jerry Gage with the My Rose Walls for Jack and Nancy Carlton.

Good friends here from Oshkosh.

I mean Rippon.

you

you

you

Yes, my rose walls and guess what?

Jack's birthday is coming up next Saturday and the total is gonna turn out and celebrate for Jack's birthday I am positive at least all the people that sell flowers are gonna celebrate He's a great guy that likes to buy flowers that man and his lovely wife Nancy Well, home at Ford and home at Auto Group are with us today.

Although the mechanics do not work on Saturday The sales staff is there from nine till one

So if you're thinking about buying a local low mileage, traded in vehicle, or a brand new one off the lot, or order one that they can get for you relatively quick, get a hold of Holman Ford and Holman Auto Group today.

Not only are Jeeps a very popular item locally, I see so many Jeeps on route.

I don't know why it is, but I notice those Jeeps and those little square grills in the front.

Ever notice those?

Plus the Dodges, they got Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram.

So often when I go into town, and I have to stop at a stop and goal light or a stop sign, if there's a car in front of me, my eyes will automatically turn to the bumper sticker that says the dealer who sold or serviced the car.

And so many of those are homing right here in town, homing forward or part of the auto group.

Get a hold of the boys and girls today between nine and one at 1036 West Podline Street or give them a call, 920748.

7777.

Use that same phone number to call and service call to order a time to get your car service this fall.

Make sure it's all road ready for winter driving.

It's home in Ford and home in Auto Group.

7487777.

Or better still, stop in today between 9 and 1.

K creed our local concrete flatwork concrete workers are on our show today Although the temperatures are still turning cold a little cooler each and every day You might warm up like we did last week a little bit member toward the end on Friday and Saturday and Sunday turned out to be pretty nice I guess we call that part of Indian summer now no matter when you get out and do work outside You have to allow yourself a few opportunities relax at the end of the day

So many of you, like myself, like to sit outside toward the end of the day.

The mosquitoes are not so prevalent anymore.

But anyway, get out there before the bugs come up and enjoy the great fall weather here in Wisconsin.

And have your own concrete pad you'll put up for you.

It's affordable, depending how big you want to go.

Everything is different as far as when you get your sidewalk put in.

It looks so nice.

You enjoy using it again.

Your guests don't have to worry about stumbling over cunks of, you know, cracked concrete.

Your driveway don't look so bad.

It's easier to get rid of the snow in the wintertime.

You got a nice big concrete back barn lot for the cattle to stand on.

You don't keep some nice and happy too.

Not only that, you have a nice big feedlot.

They do it all.

All of these different things in concrete, cakerete.

920-279-8854, it's cakerete.

920-279-8854.

While it's harvest season, so many guys getting up, I see the bean pickers came by our house the other day, that's over a week ago.

probably moving to another field, but even those things will come to an end.

Plus the sweet corn picking too.

We got one by Don, or rather Ray Dorschner in the band.

They're going to do the Harvest Festival polka.

you

hey how about that one Ray Dorschner and the Harvest Festival polka and so many festivals that well that's okay hang on there the cd when it was recorded had a little bit of a blurp on the end of it anyway we got some music by dr john check and it was skyston dutchman from oscash the w os h polka

Music playing

you

Thank you.

Yeah, Dr. John Chagin, grandpa Don Hale, all the way from Watertown, one of my best friends.

Don is really a dedicated, loyal musician and a very talented young fellow there too, Don Hale.

He was a retired wrestling and band director from Winning County for many years.

In fact, they should name a street or an avenue after Mr. Hale.

That's what I think.

Don Peachy, new band from Burnett.

I hope this plays through.

Some of these older CDs give me a hiccup once in a while.

Let's hope this one goes.

We'll do this one for all the folks out there celebrating wedding anniversaries.

It's entitled for Old Time's

Sake.

Please don't refuse me, my heart will break.

Just one more dance, shall we say goodbye?

Only forever, just you and I. Hold me real close, what you used to do.

I'll love you still if you love me true.

Before we part, give my heart.

to break just what all time

say.

to do, I'll leave still if you love me true, before we park in my heart to break just the whole time safe.

There you go Don Peachy in the band for all time's sake.

Most people in business will have to use different ways to get new traffic or patrons or customers.

Either use radio like we are right now, newsprint like in the paper.

or signs.

Signs of all kinds.

They make wonderful signs.

They're a graphic sign or letter company here in town on East Oshkosh Street.

Signs that you can put on your vehicles that can stay on here until you want to remove them.

Or you can put magnetic signs on too like I have had.

I used to have magnetic signs on my van when we used to pull the van trailer.

Because we knew that when we wanted to use a vehicle when we're not playing, we could take the signs off.

We didn't want anybody to know who I was.

Kind of funny, I guess, and so.

Anyway, Graphics and Letter Company, they like to give the information out to people.

who might become your customers.

Let them do that with a very attractive yard sign.

You get a sign that will work well on your vehicles or on your buildings.

Stop and talk to Danny this next week.

Stop in after eight o'clock or give him a call.

And if you can't get your money through Friday, give him a call and he'll try to schedule a Saturday when he can visit with you and get all of your ideas and he can tell you exactly what it'll cost.

And before they print it, you can even come and see it.

Pretty good deal seven four eight seven seven two three Danny Kalman his folks Doug and Kathy and of course Nikki they all worked well together there

Daddy's folks, Kathy and Doug will come out and help on those bigger projects when you need extra hands to let her like the side of a big truck or a semi-trailer.

You need extra hands to hold up those big signs and stick it on the side.

748-7723, Graphics Sign Rather Company.

And like I always say, you gotta love that kiln family.

Well, there's a lot of excitement going on today at Modern Rentals.

It's the conclusion of their big summer deal sale going into fall.

Today is the first, rather the first Saturday in October, they have a big sale on Husqvarna riders and consumer zero turn riders.

Now that means these are not the industrial size consumer, you know, zero turns.

These are things for your yard and mine.

We don't need those humongous ones, do we?

The sale concludes today and at two o'clock this afternoon, they have a lot of door prizes they're gonna give away, but you gotta be there.

Be there before you attend the big sale today.

35 years celebrating in business, but this is the 18th annual fall sale.

It started on the 28th of last month, and it concludes today.

So get on over there, boogie on over to modern rentals, a lot of things on sale.

Finance options are available on those Husqvarna writers.

and zero turns, a 0% for 24 months or 3.99% for five years.

Oh, that's a pretty good deal.

You know, maybe your grass will even get bigger by the time you get used up all the interest on that writing lawnmower.

Just think all the grass you can cut in the meantime.

That's at modern rentals, 748-3100 if you have any questions, and they are open at modern rentals.

Open all week long too.

They're open at seven o'clock to five during the week and Saturday seven to two and right now still Sundays eight to ten but that'll change when the weather gets real cold.

Open Sundays eight to ten.

Modern rentals.

Got some more music coming up right now.

We got Peter and Paul Windinger with the New California Polka.

you

Music playing

Thank you.

A little bit of a behind-the-blacksmith shop, Waltz with the Tupadan family band.

Our son David played piano on that recording too and horn.

They dubbed in that couple extra tracks.

Recorded 21 years ago.

David was still in college at the time.

Now he's married and got a daughter that's going to be a senior in high school this coming year.

Boy, that sure went by fast.

You ever notice time goes by it quicker than the blink of an eye?

At least it sure appears that way to yours truly.

Brew heating and cooling are with us and cooler temperatures means so many of you are gonna start thinking about Turning on your not only the thermostat.

We adjusting that to get a bit more heat in the house I know I personally don't like the house too cold.

I like a little cooler.

I don't like it sweltering hot that seems to bother me But the weather outside is pretty good when it gets in the 70s and even high 60s.

I'll be outside without a jacket on

But when it drops lower than 65, you'll see me with a light jacket on.

I don't want your cat to fall cold or anything like that.

I bet many of you are the same way, too.

Add brewery heating and cooling.

They can take care of your oil or gas furnace so that your family and yourself can remain comfortable this fall, winter, and early spring season.

Temperatures get down there.

Your body feels a little bit more achier.

You just don't want to do much.

You want to stay bundled up.

Maybe keep your jammies on all day with the little rabbit ear booties, et cetera.

Brewer heating and cooling.

Give them a call.

have the technicians come out and also check out your April air so that there's enough moisture going into the air with all that warm heat coming through the ducts.

You want to have a little moisture too so that your wood furniture and wood floors don't start creaking.

7486494 the brewers thanking you for allowing them to help keep you comfortable.

Give them a call.

Brewery heating and cooling.

I want to talk about quality plumbing if I can.

So often we've run into an issue with plumbing

at the most inopportune times.

When you think you're going to have a house full of company, the toilet don't want to work properly, you don't have enough water to wash up the dishes in the sink, etc.

No matter what the problem is, water can be solved, but by getting the right people to do it for you is important as well.

People that can do it quickly and correctly the first time.

I've always called quality plumbing for all of our problems here on Olden Road.

They all seem to creep up.

You just never know.

Tomorrow might be another day where I'll have to call them up again.

You just never know.

When you live in a home,

that's you know over you know well let's see this home was built in the late 60s so it has a few miles on it quality plumbing can be there to help sure that your home will always have enough water give Kelly Kent and Brandon a call quality plumbing 748-4142 and let them have the water flow in the right direction for you whatever you need it you'll know that the water will be it's quality plumbing

We got to do a song for over my little buddy over there in Winnick County talking about Don Hale earlier about Hale Street or Hale Avenue in Winnick County for Mr. Hale.

We got one done by Elton Otto and his Zitto zippers for Howie Fustin, his lovely bride, Judy.

They're going to do the little slugger polka.

Here's Elton.

El Denado doing a nice job.

We have Jerry Schneider and his band with an Oktoberfest.

I think it's a Landlord.

Something nice all the way from children Jerry Schneider in the band and a little bit of a nice.

I think they call that Landler number 30 13 Landler number 13 nice old-fashioned walls are Landler the difference between the walls and the Landler the Landler is a little quicker step than a regular three-quarter time Walls is still three-quarter, but you just move a little quicker when you dance it I guess it's up

Our good folks at our local Hivey Grocery Store want to invite you in.

No matter if you're just picking up a few items or a long list of things, you might want to do yourself getting into the practice of making a grocery list before you go.

So often the old saying, what you don't have in your head, you got to have in your feet.

That means you have to go back in again.

Although that's not so bad because the Hivey Grocery Store is really close by.

Here regardless of your making things this fall,

from apple pies and apple squares or anything else in the oven, roast.

They got all the different things, the ingredients, the seasonings for your pies and your roast, the potatoes, the vegetables.

How about a pot roast this week?

Does that sound good to you?

Oh boy, that sure does for me.

If you make a big one, invite me over.

I'll even bring my own silverware.

All the things delicious in the in-store bakery, the deli,

The produce and fruit is still abundant.

Checked out some blueberries they had there recently.

Good stuff there.

The one thing about our local heavy grocery store is it's so close by.

when the hours are like from six in the morning till ten at night.

If you come after eleven o'clock seven days a week including today and tomorrow you can pick up some fresh warm hot right out of the cooker rotisserie chicken or broasted chicken for your meal and you can get potato salad or coleslaw and all the different even dessert items and pastry items like buns and rolls dinner rolls

right in that same corner of the store.

Check out the in-store.

Smokehouse, all the dairy items, and the snacks.

The nutritious snacks for your kids coming home after school.

That's what you do.

Get over to the local Hy-Vee grocery store.

Well, I got to tell you about Dr. Tim Tuig.

You know, he's so happy.

That guy, his buttons on his vest are popping off.

He's so proud of his family.

His grandson, Dr. Christian McGalloway, now works with him and his daughter, Catherine McGalloway, Dr. Catherine, and his nephew, Dr. Grady.

So often in the past, people don't know who to turn to when you need a dentist that can do all of the corrective dental measures that you require.

If you have a filling that has to be fixed, the tooth that's been giving you a problem, a root canal, tooth bonding, implants, so many different things that they can do to return your smile to your happy face.

Get a whole two-week family dentistry and fawn like at 211 South National Avenue.

Here is just a kind suggestion.

The next time you go for one of those fall drives, head over to fawn like and see if you can find out

Find the location for Dr. Tim's dental clinic there at 211 South National.

You come up to Highway 23 to the stop and go right at National Avenue, turn south, go down several blocks and you'll find it.

Schedule an appointment Monday morning called 920.

921 8565 921 8565 and as Tim would say get out there and enjoy the Oktoberfest weather and of course all the good old-time music too.

We got music coming up right now by Eddie Larson and the band from Green Bay with Sparky's Polka.

you

Eddie Larson in the band, another fellow tuba player there.

There are several band directors or band leaders that are tuba players that run Orchard Struth.

Eddie Larson, yours truly.

I know there have been several.

Les Palmer, he was a tuba player too, I believe.

The list goes on and on.

We'll find a couple more.

Harold Laughamacher from Minnesota, he played the bass orn too.

Well, October Fest is definitely here.

Not only you can feel it in the weather, but you can hear it in the music too.

So many polka bands playing in the areas for different events.

Oktoberfest particularly.

Canoes Brewery has their big fall Oktoberfest starting today at noon.

And we'll talk more about that in a bit.

But here's some music by the West Bend River West Bend.

It's called the River City Blascapel.

There we go.

River City Blascapel.

Big brass band from West Bend.

A little German waltz.

you

you

you

you

Tony Wolf, Tony and Betty and the rest of the family there, all the way from Minnesota, a little bit of the Dusty Archive selection, the Lindenoff poke up.

Well, let's talk a little bit if we can.

Take some time, I'll talk about cheese.

I love cheese.

Cheese are all different flavors.

Once in a while, but not too often.

Limburger cheese, well, I'll get a craving for that.

Do you like Limburger cheese?

So many of you don't, but for those of you that do, they do a variety of different cheeses.

at the Canales Cheese Factory.

Part of the Star Dairy Brand Corporation, when you go to your local grocery store to get groceries for the week, check out the dairy case, and if the grocer does not have any of that Star Dairy Brand on hand, ask them to get it for you so you don't have to make the trip to Rogersville.

You can buy it there now, let's start even Saturday mornings, 8 to noon.

The Canales Cheese Factory, delicious cheeses.

They even have a toll-free phone number if you like to order cheese for yourself.

You know if you want to have a cheese party tray, they come in different sizes depending on how many people you want to entertain.

800-236-5200 is the phone number.

1-800-236-5200.

Danny and Theresa canals want to thank all you area dairy farmers for all the hard work you put in raising your cattle, doing all the harvesting now, and of course milk and cows.

All that raw milk makes that delicious cheese they have over there.

String cheese, cheese curds, they even have shredded cheese for making pizza.

Talking about pizza.

They have all your pizza supplies there too.

So when you come to pick up a couple blocks of cheese for making grilled cheese sandwiches this next week, pick up some pizza supplies.

They have the pie crust there, the sauce and all the different toppings.

You just tell them what you want and they'll put it together.

Get certificates, cheese spread.

It's all right there at the Canal Seas Factory in Rogersville.

Stop in today if you can between 8 and noon or anytime during the week from I believe 7.30 to 5 during the week.

1-800-236-5200.

It's the Star Dairy Corporation.

Modern overhead doors were over our house the other day.

The mainspring on my garage door connected to the house broke.

When you can't get into the garage with your car you get a little frustrated because I don't like leaving anything outside if I don't have to.

So for one night the car sat outside.

It wasn't the end of the world.

But it got fixed.

The garage door got fixed the very next morning.

Modern overhead door.

You know, I so often tell my senior citizen friends not to climb up on ladders.

I was tempted myself because I didn't know what the problem was.

But after the technician, the guy's name was Matt, came out from modern overhead door.

He pointed it out right from the floor.

He says, your main spring broke.

And I never looked in that location, but sure enough.

He had it fixed in less than a half an hour and he was on his way.

Wonderful people, technicians fixing the problem, fixing your current garage door, installing brand new doors if you need it, and also the Lyft Master Openers Tool.

Get the CHI overhead garage door made right here in the United States, I believe in North Carolina.

Made by American Patriots and also the Lyft Master opening.

Honest pricing, premium quality, and you know they'll talk to you anytime you want.

7485,000 in ripping or 622, 4119 in wild rolls.

It's modern overhead door.

Really like those guys, Bob and of course Matt that came and helped me.

Bob came out and eyeballed it.

And then of course Matt showed up a little while later and fixed it for me.

Well, let's see.

Where are we going now?

I think I got something by Johnny Rail, and it's a beautiful waltz.

John, are you all set for this?

Let's see what you got.

you

Oh, some nice Waltz music all the way from Howard Grove.

Recorded over in Johnsonville at Locks Hall at that time.

Well, today's an exciting time.

Downtown Ripon, the Knuth Brewer, are hosting their annual Fall-October Fest.

Free admission.

Come and see Carol Niquino's from Noon to Three.

And then from 430 to 730, Tom Schneider's two-fifth party band takes to the stage.

And this year, the flavor that Dave Knuth put together

is called the Marsen Oktoberfest Lager.

Now Lager is a really dark, thick beer.

It's delicious.

It's made for the 2026 batch.

He's been working hard on this one for a long time.

So don't disappoint Dave.

Come on over today and enjoy some great music.

Now they'll have chicken wings available.

If you want to have some of that for lunch today, if you want to stick around for dinner, even have their prime rib after five o'clock.

So when you get there early, tell them you want to have prime rib after five on today.

That's going on today at Canood Brewery.

Or you can get chicken wings, like I said, salads, pieces of all kinds.

And I think they have even soup and salad there too.

A lot of different choices.

Canood Brewery, you check out all the possibilities today.

They open at 11 o'clock.

Now they are closed on Sundays and Mondays, otherwise the rest of the week they're open at that same time.

But today, featuring all this free music and prime rib, oh my goodness.

I'll have to boogie on down there and get my own prime rib too, huh?

That's at the Canoes Brewery, their Oktoberfest.

We got some Oktoberfest music coming.

Gute Uleg, my little buddy, is going to do a German waltz melody, a waltz.

Quite appropriate for the Oktoberfest today at Canoes Brewery.

What a title.

Fill my stein.

So a day, so beautiful today.

So a day, it will never pass.

So a day, on which I am so happy.

And who knows, when we'll see each other again?

On the ball, the beautiful hours pass by, the clouds move.

So one day,

So beautiful as it is today.

So a town that should never pass.

Drink, drink, Brüderlein-Twin.

Ernie

Brennan in the band, Dorf Capel, a little October fast music for you.

Here's two courtable quotes from Joe Pleszinski, Mr. P for today, something for you to think about.

Some of the great things about getting older.

Who needs an alarm clock anymore?

If you're retired, who needs one?

Another one, no one expects you to run into a burning building.

I'm lucky to just walk or stroll, but I wouldn't go in a burning building anyway.

Hey, it's Pat Frischi's up

next.

When I see Tanta Anna, I have to laugh at her.

She goes from head to toe, and then she does such things.

She wears a green evening dress, a hat with red feathers.

But if she sees it, she will know.

And everyone will cry right away.

Tanta Anna, Tanta Anna, you are the most beautiful woman in the world.

But seeing March in Funeral Mar with us today too,

And so often we always worry about what type of a funeral, if you attend somebody, another individual, a relative or friend's funeral, you ever think about what kind of funeral you will have when you pass away?

Not that everybody should have to think about that and worry about that now, but.

It's a good idea to make your own pre-fuel arrangements is the point I'm trying to make.

Because by doing that, you alleviate, you take all that worry and fuss away from the people you mostly love, your kids, your grandkids.

And by taking all that worry away from them, they have nothing more to do than just, you know, order the food and the flowers and things like that, that you have, you know, you kind of, how would you say, pointed out you want it done.

What do you arrange?

Bud Scene March in Funeral Home.

They can help you through all these difficult choices and get everything ready so that your family has nothing to worry about.

Right on top of the hill, Bud Scene March in Funeral Home.
