you

to the sky little duckies flying by take your aim and pull the trigger bang you wish those ducks were bigger what if you miss those ducks all day you talk about those that kind of way that's

I could just see Lawrence Dukow standing there blowing on that duck call and the original Red Ravens the quack quack pokey.

Once in a while you're gonna have a little fun with some of that music and so well Romy God's gonna play a song that he recorded back in 1952.

It's a great song for this time of the year.

It's called the Fall Time Landler.

Here's Romy Godz and his band from Manitowoc.

Let her go Romy.

Where are you?

All the way from 1952, Romagas in his band from Manitouac, the Fall Time Waltz.

Hope you like that one.

Well, pedals and plows have their corn maze open now.

And if the weather is good for you to get over there and walk through the corn maze with the kids or your organization, get them a call and set up a time and date.

The corn maze is open.

They have plenty of pumpkin squash and gores now.

Even a few remaining melons if you want to try that.

Last week they opened a new field of sweet corn.

Although the temperatures are getting pretty cold, you might want to get your fix on sweet corn now if they have any more left.

Trees, shrubs, and bushes

Price is all marked down for fall clearance.

So get over to Pettles and Plows, north of Rush Lake, and go west off of County Road E, north of Rush Lake, on Kaufman Road.

It's Pettles and Plows.

Great hours to money through Saturdays, 10 to six, and Sundays noon to five.

Well, the Packers ain't doing so good.

You might as well do some yard work, right?

I don't know.

Anyway, at 9129 Kaufman Road, it's Pettles and Plows 920.

They even do larger areas for barn lots behind the barn for the cattle to stand on.

And also feed lots too, where you can put your feed down for those farmers that have a lot of feed that they want to put in for the animals over the fall and winter.

Get a hold of Cate Creek right here in town, 920-279.

8854 that's 279 8854 no job too big or too small they just want to make you happy with concrete last and last and last good guys Dylan and his step this song is off the very first album by Earl Schmidt and Jerry Shuff I didn't realize it but at one time both of those guys played with the Ivan Cale band early on until they struck out on their own they made this recording in 1960

off to volume number one.

It's entitled one of my favorite, Fritzies Polka, Earl Schmidt and Jerry Schrupp.

I would vet and wager.

Many of you have never heard that song before.

It's done by Peter and Paul, a very young Peter and Paul, the two boys from New York, Minnesota.

It seemed like most of the bands out in Minnesota always had concertinas in them.

Did you ever notice that?

You had over here in Wisconsin, most of the band leaders played trumpet or saxophone.

But there, if you notice, it was concertina.

Anyway, let's get back into some more messages if we want to talk about American family insurance here in town.

And if you listen last Wednesday, I was talking about how much money you could hopefully save by bundling all those important things that you want to protect under one policy, an umbrella policy.

It is possible to do that, but in order to get more details, I can give you all of that information in the time allowed for me right now.

But I want you to call American Family and ask them to give you some more info

so that you can make an informed and very intelligent decision on whether or not to have that type of insurance for what you value most important to you your vehicles your home maybe your recreation vehicles even your life insurance who knows American family right here in town at 120 Watson Street Brad and the girls would love to help you out

Like I say, it's nothing more than just a few minutes of your time.

They won't bother you.

You call them and they'll give you all you need to know.

748-5031.

It's American Family Insurance.

They got a lot of door prizes to giving away.

It's part of their 18th annual fall sale.

It's modern rentals.

Greg Leahy and his dad say thank you for all the business you've given them in the past.

Let them help you out this coming weekend too with their big fall sale.

A great friend to me for many, many years from New York, Minnesota was Faz Fitchie and his Goose Town Bam spent an evening there on a hot summer night sleeping on his porch.

But at the time, when I stayed there, he didn't tell me he had about 18 holes in the screen.

Mosquitoes kept me company all night long.

It looked like I had the measles when I woke up in the morning.

Oh, the mosquitoes were terrible there.

But anyway,

best-fit you nice guy and a great band too and his goose town orchestra.

Becks meet Margaret I with this this evening and you know they are open Saturday mornings from 8 till noon and convenient hours during the week too so if you're thinking about making some roasts or warming up the kitchen by using your oven during the fall months when it gets really cool outside

It's a good idea to have those ingredients on hand.

Some fresh bex bacon is always awesome in the morning too.

The other day both stayed over and Danny came to pick them up.

I made some cheesy hash brown potatoes and some Bex bacon and some eggs over easy.

It was delicious.

Bex for all your main ingredients from beef, pork and poultry, you can't get any better than that folks.

Go right to the main source.

Go to Bex on Clareville Road south of Highway 44 off of Clareville Road and it's a couple miles south.

Just keep on going on Clareville Road south of Highway 44 on Clareville Road.

That's where the mini storage units are in that paint shop.

turn south and just keep going you'll get there or you go to 1003 North Main Street their downtown Oshkosh meat market from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday and then of course 8 to noon Saturday mornings 589 2104 it's becks for the very best vines and rushes are with us this evening too if you're looking for some delicious thin crust pizza get a whole of vines and rushes delicious pizza served from 48

Go pick it up or just stay there and dine and enjoy it.

Pick up a bottle of wine to go with your pizza, to either have there or take home as well.

If you're making any Italian food like spaghetti, make sure you get the wine, the vino, to go at that special dinner at Vines and Rushes.

Delicious wines of all kinds, made from the grapes from their very own vineyard.

Right there, north of Rippon on County Road E-410, in fact.

748-3296, come and give them a call, check out what entertainment's coming through.

748-3296, Vines and Rushes, always free on Friday evenings and also Saturday afternoons.

and Russia's really good people there.

Let's get back to some more music.

We've got Freddie Zewich all the way from Ohio.

you

There you go, Freddie.

Nice job.

Oh, by the way, that song is called No Money for Beer.

Oh, perish the thought.

We got Knuth Oktoberfest coming up this Saturday.

Starts at noon with Carolyn Aquinos, followed by Tom Schneider's two-fifth party band.

Carol plays Noon to Three.

Tommy plays 430 to 730.

Free admission.

They got a new brand new batch of beer for 2026.

Oktoberfest called the Marsden Oktoberfest Lager.

Lager is a dark, dark beer.

I'd have been good.

That's just Saturday.

No money for beer.

Well, we hope we bring a couple books.

You got to try some of that beer.

It's October fest weather and also music-wise, we got the kids from over in

Bavaria.

In front of it, the whole world is in love.

I bring it and say goodbye.

You and me in the whole world.

With everything I have the most joy.

Even if our love was a flower.

Like a flower, a flower.

You and me in the whole world.

With everything I have.

You are the one I love.

You are the one I love.

I love you.

The flame of happiness in my eyes, it burns in my eyes.

Now that we are in our childhood, it is everyone's

wish.

The flame of happiness in my eyes, it burns in my eyes.

Vsichni nám jen štěstí přejí Ruku zbou do mojí dáš S racimem ty moje lásko Na vždy tu níso sve máš Lenku se pomalu šeří Končí náš krásný den

Oh,

that's some pretty stuff.

They're all away from the Czech Republic.

The kids there over near Bavaria, Czech Republic border in Bavaria.

Some really good music there by those young folks.

Jerry Schneider and the band coming up with an October Fest song for you.

I believe they're going to play Welcome to my Rosen

Garden.

Music playing

Come,

in my rose garden, Will my beloved wait for you, the rose garden.

denn dort so wundersies.

Im Rosengarten bist du im Paradies.

Komm, in mein im Rosengarten, Will auf dich mein liebchen Warten, Rom sag' ren' ich und komm zu mich.

Gage, when do mine all air, Allay

kin?

Oh, in my name, rose and

garden, Then I'll keep my leaves and vibe, In droves I make.

Come, come, see me,ishwind, Do mine, I'll err, I'll lay leaves and skin.

Chuck Schneider on the vocal there with Jerry Schneider band from children and welcome to my Rosen garden Recorded 28 years ago.

Is that possible in January 28 years ago?

Well, that's what it says on the jacket of the CD We got Bernie Roberts and his band coming up from Juneau and hopefully this one will play all the way through It's you can't expect kisses from me, but I'll give you a dog on good hug

Take the flowers from the bee

And you'll never have honey, hide the sun And you'll never have light With the clouds in the sky, it could never be sunny Every day would be gloomy as night Take the water away from the deep, rolling ocean The fish couldn't live there, you see If you give all your love unto somebody

And expect kisses from me.

Take the water away from the deep, rolling ocean.

The fish couldn't let there you see.

If you give all your love to some other baby Then you can't expect kisses from me

Bernie and Blondie together.

Bernie Roberts and his band from over south of Juneau.

I believe he liked to race those horses at the fair with the little sulky or the Surries.

He was big into that for many, many years.

I told you last week how my garage door spring, the main spring broke on the garage that was attached to the house and it wouldn't go all the way up.

Well, I got a hold of Matt and of course Bob over at the modern overhead door.

Bob came out, looked at the project, says, I know exactly what's wrong.

You got a broken main spring.

I said, okay, how much is that going to cost?

He said, they ain't going to be that much.

Don't you go climbing up on that ladder?

I said, I won't.

I keep telling.

my senior friends out there not to climb up on ladders that they can avoid it.

Because the last thing you want to do is fall, break a hip, a shoulder or any part of your anatomy.

You're going to be laid up for a while.

Who likes to be laying down for a while, not getting out with that nice weather?

Anyway, he had it fixed in no time at all.

Matt came out actually about an hour later, had it in no less than maybe half an hour and he was done.

That's why I love choosing and you should choose modern overhead door anytime you have a problem with your garage door, even if it's just a current door spring.

They can fix that as well.

I said to Matt, I said, you know, the door's starting to wear out a little bit on the bottom.

He says, you know, you could replace that next year.

It'll make another year through.

I said, OK, well, that's what I'll do next year.

I'm going to have a new door put in the CHI overhead garage door.

I call it CH1.

CHI overhead garage door made right here in the United States, but the lift master opener is so quiet and smooth.

You know what Matt did for me before he left?

He lubricated all the tracks and everything that makes that engine and that door go up and down.

So now you can hear that door.

You can't hear the door at all.

So I literally could sneak out of the house that night.

Corky wouldn't know it when you hear the door.

The phone number here in town is 7485,000 or you can call modern overhead door just south of Wild Rose at 622

$41.19.

Give them a call.

Honest price and great guys.

Like I say, they will take good care of you.

The Huracan Bank are with us this evening too and they know how important it is for you to save your money and make sure that you got all the money you need in inventive emergency.

It's local.

It's close by.

You got drive-up hours, money through Fridays.

And you know, although they don't have the drive-up hours on Saturday any longer, you can still do almost all of the complete banking services.

You would ordinarily do money through Friday, but you can do it at our local Hivey Grocery store with that virtual teller service.

The Hurricane Bank can get a home equity loan, which is a much lower interest rate if you need money.

And you seniors know how important it is to save money and put it away.

When Little Bull comes out to help us, we always give him a couple bucks.

He doesn't want to take anything.

He doesn't want any of our money.

But I say, Bull, I would have to hire somebody to do what you do for me.

So take it, please, and invest it.

So he saves it.

He's putting it in the bank.

So why don't you do likewise?

Talk to the good folks at the Horkon Bank, John and Jeff here, and get something going for yourself or your grandkids.

We've got Ivan Cale in this band from Minnesota coming up.

and they're going to do a dandy one for you.

I believe this one is called When You Return Lantern.

Ivan Kale.

you

Bye.

I hope you had a chance this past Sunday to see Tommy Kniece and his family band over in Green Lake for their harvest fest.

He was in town.

I didn't get a note on that soon enough to advertise it, but he was in town.

Tom Kniece all the way from Stratford for the young widow Polk out.

Tom Kniece, nice job too there Tommy.

Want to talk a little bit about the good Polk at our local Hivey grocery store.

Proud supporters of our polka dots over in Oshkosh.

You know they give us little snacks and treats for the kids after band rehearsal.

I really do appreciate Sarmine doing that.

I know Candy Webster did that and started that tradition for the kids and Phil Hammermeister continued that and now Sarmine's doing the same thing.

You know, when those kids come in early or even after school in your own home, probably they're hungry.

Why don't you have some nutritious snacks on hand for them?

Not potato chips and stuff like that, but you know, fresh fruit and things like that.

There are a lot of different things kids can eat that are healthy.

String cheese.

You know dairy products are always good for a snack.

Get ahold of your local heavy grocery store.

Open seven days a week from six in the morning to ten at night.

You can get everything on your grocery shopping list there too.

Plenty of fresh fruit too.

Apples and oranges, bananas.

It's all good for a nutritious snack before the big dinner meal comes up.

So get things on hand for those kids and grandkids too.

And remember, there are a lot of things for baking.

I picked up all the ingredients upon my last trip to make

A strawberry cheesecake.

Doesn't that sound good?

I can make a strawberry cheesecake this fall.

You know what, it's no bake.

I don't even have to start the oven.

That is the best part.

We'd like to send condolences going out to some folks in our area that recently passed away.

I know that when you turn to your family and friends, you have knowledge of people that have passed away.

Charles Slaughter, 79 from Green Lake, passed away earlier this month.

On the 17th, over in Green Lake, Charlie passed away.

Jeffrey Darrington, or Darrington, 69 from Rippon.

He was only 69.

He passed away on September 23rd.

Michael Bresnan, 77, passed away from Rippon here on the 23rd as well.

Our condolences to Slaughter, Darrington, and Bresnan family.

The good folks at Budsene March and Funeral Home helped the sister families with their funeral preparations for the loved ones.

Let them help you too in your time of need.

They've been around since the mid-1860s and they can help you too.

On top of the hill...

West Oskar Street and May Party Drive.

Take a few moments up this next week if you can and discuss your own pre-funeral arrangements.

How would you like things done?

What kind of flowers?

Who do you want for Paul Bears?

All these different things.

What do you want the funeral obituary noticed in the paper to read?

You can put all that all down.

748-2623 Budsene Marchion Funeral.

Good people.

Chris Rolanda and Marissa.

We got a polka coming up by yours

truly.

Each other's help to see us through.

Good things can be done if we just try.

And there is nothing, nothing, nothing we can do together.

Do together.

Take another look.

Do together, do together Take another look at your heart For there is nothing, nothing, nothing We can do together, do together Take another look at your heart There is nothing, nothing, nothing We can do together, do together

to see that many people just can't get along deep in your heart to find the one and only key good things can be done if we just try and there is nothing nothing nothing we can do together do together

do together take another look at your heart for there is nothing nothing nothing we can do together do together take another look

Hey, Gary Brigham in the band all the way from over near Sparta, but at that time he was living with the folks in Kaston, and that one was entitled, Take Another Look, Polka.

Now take another look, take another listen.

Eddie B in the band coming up in V4, we do cheap talk tonight, and we always play this song for Joe Pleszinski.

Joe and Kathy at Mr. and Mrs.

P.Z., you can read it on the website.

When they get there early, he just unlocked the door.

This might be what you say to him.

Let me in.

Today is the first day of winter.

I will look at my most beautiful face.

And I will thank you for your kindness.

I will look at my most beautiful face.

And I will thank you for your kindness.

And I will thank you for your kindness.

And I will thank you for your kindness.

Because we have...

Let the girl laugh, but don't be afraid Give me a kiss

She's been there.

Yeah

Yeah, but Eddie B in the band all the way from Chicago like I always say affectionately Joe P's next door neighbor just down the street from where he lived He and Kathy when they got married anyway, Joe and possess Joe and Kathy possess you want to thank you guys for stopping out in the past I always like to play a little bit of Eddie B for him on Sunday more now.

It's time for guess what cheap

talk

You're not to be alarmed if you hear anything unusual.

Frankly, my hair, I

don't give a damn.

Flipent and tasteless verbal remarks.

Now we're talking fun.

well I've heard stories in the past about different individuals I'm not that lucky to have this have happened to me but maybe you know somebody personally but anyway get a hold of this people that found money anyway this goes back to 19 rather 2002

On January 22, 2002, a home inspector, his name was Stan Edmonds, was checking out a house for some prospective buyers in Hinsdale, New Hampshire.

To get into the attic of that home to make a complete inspection, Stan had to go through a closet.

and an odd wooden shelf support kept catching his eye.

The third time, though, going through, he pulled down that drawer at a cabinet and out popped a hidden drawer filled with $20,000 and $100 bills.

Now Stan Edmonds could have just put the money in his pocket and said nothing, walked away, but he didn't.

He called the real estate agent.

The agent contacted the heirs of the homeowner who divided the money up and no one and one of them sent Stan Edmonds a check for his honesty for $50.

He said he would have been donating it to charity.

So here he could have made $20,000 by keeping his yaps shut but all he got out of the good turn but he had a

a clean conscious.

He didn't take advantage of the people whose heirs probably salted the money away and forgot about it or died and didn't tell anyone.

Anyway, a good turn does not go unnoticed.

We got some music coming up here by Ernie Koopman.

you

He used to have a bigger band, but then he went to a smaller combo, and that was the name of the group, The Stageman, and one entitled, The Good Luck Polka.

I like to play a song for my little pal over in Winnick County, Howie Foose, and his lovely bride, Judy.

They like this song, and then by cousin Fuzzy, it's La Golden Drina.

Oh yeah, cousin Fuzzy with cousin Agie on the accordion there.

It's hard to believe that cousin Agie has passed away so many, many months, years ago.

I guess several years, years she's been gone.

Homan Ford and Homan Auto Group are pleased to be with us this Wednesday evening and I hope you get an opportunity.

If you're thinking about getting a new set of wheels to get you, if you're worried about getting to your destination and then back home again, perhaps it's time you talk to somebody at Homan Ford.

and home on Auto Group.

They can give you a top dollar trade-in for your current set of wheels or make arrangements to get your car tuned up so that it can make your journey for you.

They do sell brand new Ford products, complete line of Fords.

Also, the Auto Group consists of Chrysler, Ram, Dodge and Jeep products.

Jeep is a hot topic right now, a very hot item.

You might want to check out getting a brand new Jeep or a low mileage used one.

If they don't have a low mileage vehicle of any make on the lot, they can probably find one for you.

But you can stop and see them even Saturday mornings, 9 to 1.

Otherwise, I believe from 8 to 5, Monday through Friday, at Holman, at 1036 West Final Act Street.

To schedule a talk to an auto body shop guy to make your car look prettier, or a call on mechanic and schedule a time to have your car serviced.

Sometimes people forget to do that and they blow their engine up.

I would not suggest you're doing that.

You know, costs a lot of money for vehicles nowadays.

So make sure your car runs as long as you can.

Also check out the locally traded in low mileage vehicles.

You might get a good deal there too.

920748.

77, 77, it's Homan Ford and Homan Auto Group, Rob Dresden, great guys over there.

I do appreciate all their support too in our program.

I think you're gonna like them too.

Johnny and Danny Healey are with us too.

I always say these guys keep the lights on and they've so often done that for Korky and I. The other night, the night before last, Korky got up to get a glass of water and she says, honey, the outside garage light is on.

I said, well that's a motion detector.

You know anything that moves within like 20 feet of the door and the light will come on.

I bet you probably had a raccoon or a possum or maybe even a skunk this time of year go by the back of the garage to trigger the light to come on but I said it'll go up.

Sure enough a little while later the light went off.

You know having

the peace of mind and security of having outdoor security lights like that, motion detection, even yard lights, very important.

They can take care of all the insulation and maintaining those lights for you if you have a problem.

It's Heatly Electric, our electrical contractors that we really love and appreciate.

John and Danny and all the girls, Bailey and Diane, a whole bunch, great guys over there.

Heatly Electric right here in Ripon.

Give them a call the next time you have a problem with electricity, rural or city alike.

seven seven eight six seven four eight seven seven eight six no job too big or small they'll fix it for you give them a call I usually call them around seven o'clock Monday through Fridays when they're loading up the trucks otherwise you can leave a message and they will get right back at you more music coming up right now we got one done by Brian Brigham Brian Brigham and his Mississippi Valley

Dutchman

Bye.

Hmm.

Brian Brigham, Gary's cousin there.

Gary and Brian Brigham, two cousins right down the road from one another when you're cashing in the Sparta, Wisconsin area.

Well, our good friends at Lee Beverage, our captains of industry, would like to let you know we got some events taking place in and around our area.

I encourage you to get out, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and attend all of these fundraisers in October Fest in your area.

Lee Beverage is from Oshkosh, Disturgeives of Adult Beverage Beer and Sundrop Soda Pop.

for the kids.

Okay, as far as dates going on, we got a big one coming up this Saturday at Knuth Brewery in downtown Ribbon.

It starts at noon with Carol Nekeynos from noon to three, and then Tom Schneider's two-fifth party band plays from 4.30 to 7.30.

They got their new batch of Marsden Oktoberfest Lager featured at the Knuth Brewery.

I know there's a lot of church fundraisers, firemen's picnics and things going on in city festivals, but we do have an abbreviated one for this week.

So get out and enjoy all the good weather, do something fun with your family, and definitely enjoy all the good October fast weather.

Take a drive this next week and load up your neighbors, the friends that can't drive no longer that elderly.

They would sure love a country drive with you and your family.

We got something done by the spielmeisters in Waupon.

I played several years with these guys in between with my own band, and I made one recording with them.

In fact, I think it was the only one they ever made.

Don Kermire on the vocal, and Carl Neumann on concertina, yours truly.

And I think even David sat in a little bit, filling in some of the background.

We got one entitled, The Edelweiss, for all you Oktoberfest goers, from Lee Beverage in

In fact, over a week and with the winter weather not far around the crown of the corner, you know for sure furnaces will soon be turned on.

if they aren't already on.

April air is a good thing to have in your home to keep the warm air from your furnace from drying out your wood.

It'll happen tomorrow, if not tonight, but we're all talking a good time, Dutchman.

It'll happen tomorrow, for sure.

We hope your furnaces don't go out tomorrow either.

I want to talk a little bit about if I can, about Vanderbink's proto-stem.

I had a wonderful conversation with Barry recently, and he told me that the Amish fry pies are done for this season.

There was a wedding in the Amish family that made all the fry pies, so they wanted to concentrate on family this next week or two, a couple weeks, so.

That's what's happening.

No more Amish fry pies at Vandy Brinks Produce stand, but they have tons and tons of gourds, 12 different kinds of squash, humongous pumpkins of all sizes, oh my, and corn stalks, oh my goodness.

It's located on Ripon's west side there right on Highway 23, fresh potatoes also, and other things coming out of your garden.

Although the fry pies are done for this season and also the watermelon and pretty much the sweet corn, you know the seasons will always do that to us.

Something will come up abruptly and that's the end of it for the year.

Well, it looks like I'll have to wait till next May to get my Amish Fry Pie fixed.

That's at Vanderbreeks Produce stand on Ripfins West Side.

Stopping to see them.

They are open Monday through Saturdays from 10 to 5.30 and Sundays 10 to 5.

While I was there talking to Barry, a grandfather showed up with two of his grandkids and they were looking at the pumpkins.

I told Barry, I better go so he can take care of business.

You know, they got a big, rather a coaster wagon there.

for the kids to put their favorite pumpkin in so grandpa can pull the wagon to the car.

Grandpa don't have to make several trips carrying pumpkins at Vanderbrink's.

They got all the details worked out.

Stop and then see them.

Like I say, Monday through Saturdays, 10 to 5.30.

Go after school sometime during the week.

Take the kids over there or Saturday mornings or Saturday afternoons.

They're open until 10 to 5.30, Monday through Saturdays and Sundays, 10 to 5.

Hey, back to some more music.

Here's Dick Rogers in the band.

I'll now poke on and one written for two guys named George and Joe.

Our health might deteriorate to the point where we need assistance every day to get to the bathroom, get our food, get dressed, et cetera.

And depending on your conditions of your health will determine how long you can stay in your own home.

And I know that's a very tough thing for people to even think about.

I shudder to think about it myself.

Maybe the day will come for yours truly to have to make that choice as well But there are people who decide that their health is still good But they're tired of taking a care of a big home and property for all the different seasonal changes like now We got to pick up the leaves and then we got to shovel snow and sprinkle salt for ice so we don't fall on our keister at Maple Crest they take care of all of that for you

A meal would be wonderful that we don't have to prepare.

They are open from Wednesday to Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Peace, easily.

And Joe and Kathy would like to thank all of you folks who repeatedly come back to visit them.

It might be on one day, then you come back the next week on a different day or you come every Sunday after church services.

No matter what it is, they do appreciate seeing you.

You folks are very kind to them and they've been over there now for over 11 years, cooking up a lot of delicious food for your families.
