Over a week and a half ago it got so cold in the morning I changed over our furnace system so that the heat would come on early in the morning to take the frost out of the house because the temperatures definitely are getting down there at night.

many of you ever seen the movie Schindler's List about the guy who tried to save all the Jewish, Nazi captives during World War II?
I think his name, what was his name there?
Schindler?
Yeah, Oscar Schindler.
Well, get this.
This story goes back to Stuttgart, Germany.
When a Stuttgart couple found an old suitcase in their parents' loft, upstairs in their parents' attic, after their parents died in 1999, they did not think much of it, but they found an old suitcase, but then they saw the name on the handle, O.Schindler.
Inside were hundreds of documents including a list of names of the Jewish slave laborers and their fake jobs that factory owner Oscar Schindler gave to the Nazis during World War II.
The bold move that Schindler did saved over 1200 Jews from extermination and inspired the movie Schindler's List.
Apparently, friends of Oscar Schindler's had used the loft as a storage space decades earlier and then they forgot about the suitcase and its contents.
The couple gave the suitcase and all the documents to a newspaper, hoping to find the original owner of the suitcase, but asked no money in return.
It was then, when nobody claimed it, given to the Yad Yashim Holocaust Museum in Israel.
What a brave thing Oscar Schindler did, and so saved all those lives.
I think it's amazing.

And on this particular old 78 recording, most of the band, at least the tuba section, the tuba player stops to sing with the trumpet players, a song entitled Annie Annie, or in Czech, Nano Nano.

Carolina keynotes are playing this Saturday on the 26th from four to seven for the October Fest on Park Avenue in Columbus from four to seven.
Good Time Dutchman are playing in Dinesville from 12 to 3.
I believe the Good Time Dutchman along with Copper Box will be there this weekend, as always.
Keith Jennermans is doing a solo job on Saturday from 2.30 to 5.30 at the Oak Falls Village Park on County Line Road in Menominee Falls.

Mark Jerichovic Small Band, the little combos.
I believe they're playing from three to seven Saturday to Saturday at Gators Octoberfest at Yandas Bar in Ellisville.
That's south of Luxembourg, also north of Stangerville.
Go straight up from Stangerville toward Luxembourg.
You got to go through Ellisville.
I remember Ellisville because I rode the school bus and we had several kids we had to pick up, but our country school bus in Ellisville.
Some pretty nice people back then.

There's the Schnaps and the Tanzer-Hafbrahaus Band.
It's a 13-piece orchestra.
They're playing this Saturday from 2 to 5.30 for the Oktoberfest at the Wharf in downtown Manitowoc on Riverfront.

It's a 15-piece orchestra, 2 to 5.30 this Saturday.
Sugarbush combo is playing Saturday one to four o'clock for the Mink River Basin and Ellison Bay, Wisconsin.
Tom Schneider is playing this Saturdays from two to five for the October Fest at the Kinney Lake Campground in Marion, Wisconsin.
And moving right along, Carol and the Keynotes are playing, I guess, this coming Sunday at St.
Michael's Parish picnic that will be in Kiewaskam along with
The Good Time Dutchman.
That's their fall festival at St.
Michael's.
I played that a couple times.
Ray's Jolly Chats are playing Sunday from one to four o'clock at the Yard 65 Brewery in Kiel.
And those Wiffle Brothers are playing this Sunday also one to four thirty at the Turner Hall in Monroe.
Boy a lot of bands there.

Well, the good folks had pedals and plows and bikes in.

When the weather is good, the kids like to come along.

that I prepared.
And as much as I love to cook, I like to try different things.
One thing I tried over a year ago that I remembered was really tasty that maybe some of you would like to try.
I picked up a box of some fettuccine instant noodle mix.
You've got the noodles and the cheese sauce and everything.
I forget what kind of brand, K-Nor or L-Nor, whatever it is, box of noodles.
And you cook it all up.
And then what I did is I picked up a half ring of shrimp rings.
So what I'm going to do today, later today, is take the tails off the shrimp, put them in a fry pan with a little bit of butter, saute the shrimp while I prepare the feta-cini noodles.
So I'm gonna mix the shrimp when they're nice and warm with just a little garlic salt in with my feta-cini noodles.
Then I'm gonna take a bag of petite frozen sweet peas, warm them up in the microwave.
And when they're just about all done, drain the water off the peas and mix them with the noodles and the shrimp tails.
Ah, I remember going to the Roxy Supper Club in Oshkosh and having that.
Every time I stopped and it was so good that now I'm gonna prepare it again for Corky and I. Why don't you do the same thing?
They have all the ingredients.
Shrimp tails with fettuccine noodles and fresh peas.
Or forget the shrimp.
Just put the peas in with the noodles.
That makes a meal.
in and of itself.
Their local highway grocery store seven days a week from six in the morning till ten at night.
Pick up some broasted or rotisserie chicken too every day after 11 a.m.
