Good morning everybody.
Time to wake up and greet the world with a smile.
Oh say can you see by the dawn's early light what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.

The other day I stopped into Mr. and Mrs. P's eatery and I picked up some soup to go and Joe said, try this.
It's beef with vegetable and barley soup.
I got it home and tried it and I almost started crying because I remember as a child when I stayed overnight at my grandparents home in Kiwani my grandmother used to make that same soup and it tasted just like what she did so I know that Joe has really been perfecting all of his soup culinary tactics and tricks between he and Scotty and I tell you that soup was delicious Joe
so if you haven't had a chance hopefully he has some more left for today it's the beef with barley and vegetables oh man that was delicious they're celebrating 11 years in business and the thing i want to tell you and all these many years of him and he and his family along with their great staff that he has
They've never ever put out a bad meal.
At least I can never complain about anything I've ever gotten.
There's always generous portions, delicious food.
He uses only the freshest of ingredients.
So you know, when you order food from Mr. and Mrs. Peas, nothing is left under a heat lamp like you would ordinarily get at a fast food drive-thru restaurant where you sit in your car.
You know, you get a sack lunch.
Some of those things are left under a heat lamp for several hours.
Not at Mr. and Mrs. P's, it's always made fresh.
And so in honor of Joe and Kathy, the rest of the staff, 11 years in business, we're going to celebrate today with Eddie B.
Let's celebrate again, like we did last summer.
Let's celebrate again, like we did last year.
You brought your friends, I brought mine.
We had ourselves a good old time.
Hope to celebrate in all together.
Friends, do you remember the good times that we had?
People jumping up and down, it was a brand new fad.
The song the band was playing had a happy snappy flair.
Folks were singing, dancing, celebrating everywhere.
Let's celebrate again like we did last summer.
Let's celebrate again like we did last year.
You brought your friends, I brought
Celebrating all together The polka celebration always made you feel so fine It took the dark and gloomy days and turned them

Funeral arrangements used to be nearly the same for every person in a family or community.
For better or worse, things are a lot more complicated today.
There are many choices, costs, and personal expressions to choose from.
Pre-planning a funeral has become more important than ever.
Buttsene Margin Funeral Home in Ripon has been here for you since 1896, and we continue to be here for you.
Call anytime at 748-2623 to schedule an appointment, and thank you for your trust in us.
We told our children many years ago that Cork and I had made pre-funeral arranges with Buttsy, and all they had to do was pick out the flowers and order the food for Mr. and Mrs. Pease for the funeral dinner, and the kids thanked us so much for that.
On top of the hill, what's Oskar Street and May Party Drive?
You consider taking care of that business yourself.
Well, you have good frame of mind and health, and you can still take care of that, okay?
We got L. Ray Bergls in the band with that family band.
Band polka.
you go.
Our sister loves to see the cyclophobe.
Our auntie and her uncle brings her on a duet.
Our mother goes to Cuba.
The baby just won't leave the drum alone.
But my grandpa bought an organ.
That's what we do.
See, we love the trumpet and the horn And they're quite a treat Marching down the street God, did you ever have one in your home?
My father played the hornet My sister loved to treat the saxophone
The babies just believe that the model What's left to have upon an orchid?
That's when we let hope in.
Hey, how about that one?
A little bit of Elroy Berkels in his band, all the way out of Brilliant, Wisconsin.
And for years, Elroy played with the Dick Rogers band.
Then he had his own band, and then he went out and did solo work.
When musicians retire from your group, if you want to still keep playing, you cut down the size of musicians and you keep on going.
We got something by Julie Lee coming up.
to love.
This is Robert Kennan from Mount Calvary, the treasure of the We Love the Dance Club.
Polka music is happy music.
All Polka fans are lucky to have so many great bands to see and dance to over the years.
Many of these bands are gone now, but too, but still shares their music with us.
Never forget those great old time bands and all the fun that we had at the dances.
Thank you.
Thank you, Bobby.
You know, so many people out there that loved old time music.
as youngsters, teenagers, probably in their late teens, probably met their future bride or husband at some of these dances.
All these old country ballrooms that no longer are open, some torn down, just left for decay into history, I guess you could say.
But we sure had a lot of fun in these old ballrooms and saluting all the ballroom operators that used to take good care of people out there going to the dancers.
One of my friends over in Oshkosh is having a birthday and this is this is what he sounds like
Good morning polka friends.
This is the old tractor doctor Ron O'Neill

Hope you're doing good, buddy years ago

I never forgot his kindness and friendship and what a great guy.
So happy birthday, Ron.
The tractor doctor on West 9th Street, just west of Oshkosh.
We got something coming up here by the Tupadan family, ma'am.
are there to make yours.

It's a brewer heating and cooling out of Ripon, serving this entire listening area.
Give the brewers a call and keep your family comfortable no matter what the weather is doing outdoors.
And there you go, something nice from brewery heating and cooling right here in town.
And on the northeast edge of the industrial park here in Ripon.
Got big plans for today.
Hopefully the weather is going to be good enough for you to get out and have some activities with the family, grandkids if they're coming over to play in your yard.
It's always nice.
I want to see what's happening over at Vandybrink's produce stand.
The watermelon this season is excellent.
I have not had a bad watermelon or cantaloupe.
They have potatoes, tons and tons of sweet corn, cucumbers, tomato zucchini, kohlrabi, peaches by the pounder case, and Bing cherries.
If you want to get some information, you need tomatoes for candy, give Gail a call, or any item that you need more of to just a pound.
920-572-1294.
That's Gail's number, 572-1294.
They have all kinds of Amish fry pies.
Fry pie is a piece of pastry filled with different fillings, like apple, blueberry, cherry, red raspberry, strawberry with rhubarb, which is excellent, two lemon, pecan, peach, and also peach with pineapple.
So you gotta try them.
Get over the van, it brings produce stand, money through Saturdays from 10 to 5.30, 10 o'clock in the morning at 5.30, and then on Sundays, 10 to 5.
That's at Vandy Brinks on Highway 23 West, right here in Ripon, on West Fondland, actually, before you leave the city limits, on Ripon's west side.

Marilyn
Lang on the vocal there she had one of those voice synthesizers
where you could sing into a microphone and the voice would sing and put out part harmony.
Did you know that they had that technology?
I never knew that until I actually saw it at Wappan Polka Fest years ago and Marilyn did a song and there's like three people singing and she was only one.
Pretty good stuff I think.
Quality plumbing are with us today.
And do you know how frustrated you get when you use the bathroom and you want to flush the toilet and you don't have any water?
you know or you want to take a shower there's no water or you want to make a cup of coffee or wash the clothes or do the dishes and there's no water or you want to wash your car and there's no water pressure well at quality plumbing they can make sure that the water is re-hooked up and get to the root of the problem so that the next time you need an abundance of water it is there quality plumbing and think back the last time we had a terrible storm and the electricity went out
and you didn't have any water because your water pump ran off of electricity and there was none there get a hold of quality plumbing and make sure you always have that water handy for you running a new line outside to take care of the garden is always a possibility and like I told you a couple weeks ago
One of the smartest things I did two years ago was having Kent come out and put a line from our basement into our garage connected to the house.
So the next time I ever want to wash the garage floor, I don't have to run a hose from the basement up through the hallway or from outside in.
I get everything nice and handy.
So whoever gets my home someday later on when I leave this place, I was going to find all these little tricks that I set up.
a water line in the garage.
How about that, huh?
Modern rentals are with us today too.
Craig Lay, you and the staff.
And first, those of you that take advantage of good weather and can take care of your yard, it's really frustrating when your lawnmowers don't want to work.
And then you think, how long am I going to have to wait to get my riding or walk behind more fix?
And in the meantime, the grass continues to grow.
You don't want a hay field there.
one of the beautiful things and there are so many great things about modern rental not only other prices but the people that work there are so friendly and helpful always willing to make sure they get to the root of your problem if it's a small engine problem get it fixed and get your unit right back to you i know i can always trust on them sue comes out and picks up our tractors and brings them into modern rental for two months blade sharpening
all those little technical things, and if you're looking for landscaping materials, they got tons of it.
The next time you plan an outdoor landscaping project, get over to modern rentals early, give them a call, and reserve that piece of power equipment that you need, like a boom lift.
You might want to get a trailer to haul things.
You might get a wood splitter, a wood chipper, and it doesn't matter, even a chainsaw or a telescoping gas pole saw so you can cut those low-lying limbs.
that's modern rentals at the corner of east oscar street and douglas street by that stop and go light get all your landscaping materials there too we have guy lambardo and his royal canadiens coming up and guy i think is going to do a song entitled if i have this all pulled up right and i don't so you got to give me a little backup time here here we go got it you were meant for me
You were meant for me And I was meant for you Nature patterned you And when she was done You were all the sweet things
off in one You're like a plaintiff's
That never lets me free I'm content The angels must have sent you And they meant you just for me
There you go, some nice music from Bavaria, some button accordion music.
And my apology, at the beginning of the show, I told you it was August 2nd, but it's actually August the 1st.
I looked at this little calendar with a magnet on the back.
It's attached to my filing cabinet here in my studio, and I looked over and I said, oh man, Tuba, you told everybody it was the 2nd of August.
But it's the 1st.
Nothing like getting one day older and you don't need to.
And so, wow.
You know, Graphic Sign a Letter Company, they don't want to see you get any older than you have to.
And when you're in business, sometimes when you have a lot of problems because you don't have enough traffic coming through your front door, or the phone's not ringing off the wall because you need to have somebody call you and then you go and do work at their place like a contractor, that can make you get a little old fast too.
But at Graphic Sign a Letter Company, they try to keep you young as possible.
When you give them a call, they will help devise a sign to give information about what you're doing, how people can get a hold of you, and especially where you are.
And people drive around looking for, well, where did that guy say he lives?
Especially if you rely on people to come and see you for your services and products.
Graphic sign and letter company on East Oshka Street.
Kitty Corners are the big LP tanks before you leave town.
You can't miss them right at the corner of Stanton Street.
East Oshka Street.
Graphics sign a letter company.
Signs for on buildings, on vehicles, your cars, vans, pickup trucks, big semis.
Signs for in front of you, your yard.
Signs on your mailbox, your front driveway.
If you need a sign, say let's say your parents or grandparents have a dairy farm or a big cattle farm.
Why don't you get them a sign that they can be proud to put by the road and tell everybody
what you do and how proud you are of them.
Graphic Sign and Letter Company, 748-7723.
It's affordable, it's clever, and one thing else, it really looks good too.

You don't have to stain concrete.
You don't have to do anything other than just maybe take a leaf blower and blow it off once in a while.
920-279-8854.
Give Dylan a call at Kcreate for all your flatwork concrete work.
Driveways, sidewalks, and patios.

For Dave Knuth, I looked high and low for this song for you.
Dave is done by Malik's Fisherman.
And I think Dave is gonna like this one because I think it's an old country western song.
It's I Like
In
some of my songs I have casually mentioned The fact that I like to drink beer But this little song is more to the point So roll out the barrel
And lend me your ears, I like beer He likes beer!
Cause it makes me a
good fellow I like beer He likes beer!
Cause it helps me unwind And sometimes it makes me feel mellow Makes him
feel mellow
Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much The vodka puts my mouth in gear
Well this little refrain Should help to explain As a matter of
Now when we're out on the town My wife starts to frown As I sit there in my suit and tie Well she says I'm a goof As she sips her vermouth And I yell as a waiter walks by I like beer
Cause it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer Cause it helps me unwind And sometimes it makes me feel mellow Makes him
feel
mellow Whiskey's too rough Champagne costs too much Vodka puts my mouth in gear This little
refrain should help to explain as a matter
fact
I like beer
Well last night I dreamed that I passed from this scene and I went to a place so sublime all the water was clear and it tasted like beer but then they turned it all into wine I like beer
Cause it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer Cause it helps me unwind Sometimes it makes me feel mellow Makes
him feel mellow
Whiskey's too rough Champagne costs too much Yeagermeister puts
mouth in gear
little refrain should help to explain
as
a

Are you heading out of town anytime soon?
Well, not that we want to see you go, but if you are leaving this area, we hope you get back home safe and sound.
Our address for home and forward and home and auto group are at 1036 West Pollack Street.
Although the mechanics don't work on the weekend, it's always a good idea before you make your final plans to
One thing you should do is schedule your car to be serviced.
You like oil changes, have the tire rotation done, if the tires are getting a little worn, or maybe even replaced.
They can give you a good deal on new tires.
Check out your car battery.
Right now, air conditioning systems are very important.
Make sure that your air conditioner in your car is not low on freon.
Because if we get another hot spell, you might suffer.
And we don't want to do that.
For Chrysler,
Ram, Dodge, and Jeep products, check out Holman's Auto Group on West Final X Street here in Rippon, and also the Ford product line too.
Mechanics are great, Monday through Friday, and if you live in the Rippon vicinity, right in the city limits, they'll give you a free ride home, so you don't have to sit there while your car's getting fixed.
Get the oil changes, make sure your car is always road ready, and they'll give you top trading on your local, your current car.
