something Good morning polka friends

This is the old tractor doctor, Ron O'Neill.

You are tuned into the Tubadan show on WRPN AM 1600, your hometown broadcasting station.

That's a Saturday morning idea Ron did for me, oh golly, almost 11 years ago.

And anyway, Ron here's a happy birthday song for you from Western Shirley and yours truly Tubadan.

It's done by the Six Fat Dutchman.

The End

Now who's all gonna get in your brain?

The girls all look at him and say... He's too old to cut the mustard anymore.

He used to jump just like a bee, but now he needs to do landing gear.

He used to jump just like a bee, but now he needs to do landing gear.

He used to jump just like a bee,

It's too cold to cut the mustard any more.

Happy birthday doc and of course I know the tractor nurse there Joann sends out happy birthday wishes to all your neighbors and friends the tractor doctor what a heck of a nice guy he is we got one of his favorite songs by Danny Jr.

Thank you so much.

Happy birthday doc.

Hope you have a great one there tomorrow.

Ron O'Neill over there on 9th Street there.

Got a tractor repair business.

I wonder if he's keeping busy.

I wouldn't doubt that he is.

Our local Hy-Vee grocery store is open right now.

In fact, they're open every day from six in the morning till 10 at night.

So if you're working a split shift, you can still get all the items that you desire.

Anything in the deli, always fresh.

And you know, I love the potato salads.

My mother used to make homemade German potato salad.

Did your grandmother ever do that for you as a child?

Well, they make a great recipe of German potato salad there.

I think if you go through the story, you might even find German potato salad in a can, where a company makes it in cans for people, the consumer, to take home.

But I like my potato salad fresh, and I get that at the Hivey Grocery Store right now.

Of course, the Dawn's potato salad is great too.

I was telling the girls there, Melissa, who works in the deli, and Sarah, I was telling the girls that I like to put baked beans over the top of my potato salad.

Not the German potato salad, but the Dawn's potato salad with a little bit of warmed up baked beans on top.

It has truly a unique flavor.

Get all your sliced deli meats there, and your cheeses as well, roasted, and

rotisserie chicken after 11 o'clock every day of the week.

Plus they have buckets of cold chicken too waiting for you to pick up if you get there before 11 in the morning.

I've had the cold chicken too and it's pretty good.

Love it.

I like a nice big piece of chicken to hold in my hand when I eat chicken.

Not of this prairie chicken size slices you get at that chicken store.

I love the Hivey Chicken.

Why don't you check it out?

Check out every aisle at our local Hivey store on Ripon's West Side.

They open seven days a week, six in the morning, till ten at night.

Butxene Marchant Funeral Home have been here for a long, long time, and nobody can say it better than my pal, Chris.

Butxene Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon can help you pre-plan a funeral for yourself, your parents, or a spouse.

Pre-planning is truly a gift to your family, loved ones, or caretakers.

1896 has been a long, long time.

That's like 130 years and so.

If my math is correct, we got one coming up here by the Tupadan Pokerlanders in the band there, and they're going to do the young widow.

Polka, if we get it all queued up.

Yep.

you

you

Ernst Busch and his Bavarian Orchestra all the way from Europe and one entitled the Kuss or the Wayside Walls.

There are a lot of people in our show that make up different kinds of businesses in our community and not every one of these advertisers will you ever need their services, some more than others.

One business that I know a lot of folks like are our folks next door to where I live on Olden Road, that's Cagrie because they put down a thick

really thick pad of concrete, one that you're gonna have for a long, long time.

If you have old concrete that's busted up, they have the machinery to remove that for you and put down a brand new layer of concrete, sidewalks, patios, driveways, or even side small buildings too.

When it comes to concrete, get the folks that have been doing it for a long time.

The whole family's been into the business for over what, 70, 80 years now?

That's a long time to be putting down concrete.

And they know exactly what it is, how to do it, and how to price it out, too.

Call for a free quote.

Have them stop out and see your project.

And have Dylan tell you all about concrete.

Heck of a nice young fella.

920-279-8854.

His grandparents were in the concrete business.

They knew all about concrete.

In fact, they did a lot of concrete work for Corky and I over our married life.

Dylan grandpa Dwayne Cougland from Princeton that's where they're from So we want to say good evening to all of our friends over in Princeton listening to us tonight from the Cougland family 920-279-8854 that's the number 279-8854 edge cake reed for all your concrete needs Let's see your brewer heating and cooling air with this and I know we had a little bit of a spell

the middle part of last week, early part, where it kind of got down in the 70s, which was a really welcome relief.

Talking to my friend Jimmy over at Rippon Recycling, he said it was like over a hundred degrees in that little building.

They had to put an electric fan in there because you know that's a little shanty there where you dump your recyclables at Rippon on Douglas Street.

Well anyway,

It got so hot that a lot of people thought that maybe the only way to cool down is to get up early in the morning in order to save some energy.

Open the windows and let the air blow through one end of the house straight through to the other side and get some fresh air.

That's not a bad idea.

Just remember to close your windows when it starts warming up in mid-morning.

Gorky and I like to do that, open the windows.

It's not only, it's good to get some, unless the farmer's hauling manure out, then it's not such a good idea.

Brewer heating and cooling, on North Douglas Street, let them fix your air conditioning system, keep you comfortable all year long with your heating and air conditioning service.

Brewer heating and cooling, 748-6494, right here on Rip is Northside, on North Douglas Street.

For Grandpa and Grandma Hill down in Watertown.

Oh, how I miss you tonight.

So young so tired

We did that song for all of you good folks out there who tune us in on Wednesday night because oh how I miss you when you're not here but you're here so I'm glad I'm really happy for that too.

Heatley Electric are whether it's this evening John and Danny Heatley you know how important it is to have air conditioning when it gets so bloody hot outside if your air conditioner is running maybe it's because your electricity isn't hooked up properly or maybe you got a power overlord get a hold of Heatley Electric

Many, many years ago, John came out and fixed our fuse box in the basement.

We were draining power and lights were flickering.

It's because we had so many things going at the same time.

I guess Corky's hairdryer really used a lot of power.

I tell Healey Electric, no matter nowadays everything just about that we use runs on electricity.

John and Dan Healey help folks in the city and the rural areas.

Give them a call.

Downtown Rippin' at 120 Watson Street.

Really nice people there.

I hope you all get an opportunity to at least discuss the different options that you still have to save money when it comes to insurance.

A lot of people just don't think about it.

They just pay the premium for the company they currently have.

Without really investigating, you know, if you could actually save more dollars.

Because they do have that set up for you there.

And so many other Horecon banks in our area have set up that virtual banking service throughout our community and grocery stores.

So you might want to check out

your closest area wherever you live for a Horkon bank.

Cash checks, put money in, etc.

Make bank transfers.

It's all possible on the weekends.

Bay.

Do not be alarmed if you hear anything unusual.

Who cares if none of it's true?

Frankly, my hair, I don't give a damn.

Stories love cheeses.

Flipent and tasteless verbal remarks.

Now we're talkin' fun.

It's time for cheap time.

Well, tonight I hope you find this rather entertaining and amusing.

Sometimes people make signs.

I don't know if Graphic Sign a Letter Company ever ran into anything like this.

But people will make signs and leave informative notes for people to learn things about their surroundings.

Now I'm going to read a couple of things that actually were printed and left for people to try and figure out.

On the door of a photographer's studio, the sign said, out to lunch.

If not bagged by five, out for dinner also.

Okay, I could see that.

Here's one in an office.

It said,

Would the person who took the step ladder yesterday please bring it back or further steps will be taken?

Outside a new town hall the sign said the town hall is closed until opening.

It will remain closed after being opened, open tomorrow.

I don't quite understand that one.

If you're on a safari taking a ride through these animal parks the sign said elephants, please stay in your car All right Outside a photographer studio the sign says have the kids shot for dead from 2495 Have the kids shot for dead from 2495 at a railroad station beware to touch these wires is instant death

Anyone found doing so will be prosecuted.

Well, how the heck they're gonna do that?

The person's dead already.

Here's one.

And then a department store.

Bargain basement upstairs.

What?

Bargain basement upstairs in a department store?

In an office building.

Toilet out of order.

Please use floor below.

Alrighty.

Outside of Burger King Drive-In.

Nice job there, J Wells.

We got Ray Dorschner, and this song goes all the way back to 1957.

Here's Ray and the Boys.

you

Oh, something nice all the way from Manassia, Wisconsin, Ray Dorschner and the boys, one entitled The Dutch Made Waltz from 1957.

Just think how old you were back in 1957.

That's a few decades ago, even me, I was in fourth grade at the time.

My brother's Joe, Jim, and I, we shared a bedroom, we had bunk beds in that little farmhouse out on Sleepy Hollow Road, just west of Kiwani off of Highway 29.

We had an old beat up

Wooden big case radio and we turn on a radio certain nights during the week We could pick up the uncle Otto radio show and Bobby art which was his real name He would broadcast his poker show and we used to listen to that as the Sun would set in the summertime And he played a lot of Ray Dorschner and chances are I listened to that very same song when I was in fourth grade That's quite a while ago.

I'll tell you maple crescer with us, too

It's nice to think back to a time when things weren't so hectic and problems weren't so serious.

Money was not such a big item.

It always was an item when you're first married, especially if you have a young family and you're trying to cover all the bills.

Most young families, especially for Cork and I, when we got married we didn't have health insurance and we had to pay a lot of stuff out of pocket.

It wasn't until most young people got a steady job in the company or the factory provided you health insurance.

But up until that time you were pretty much on your own.

The good folks here in town at Maplecrest realized folks have retired and hopefully they were smart enough to plan ahead and have enough dollars saved so that they can lead a very comfortable lifestyle once they stop working.

Maple Crest is an affordable senior living facility at 150 Douglas Street.

Chad, Vicky, and Jill, the whole bunch there, they take good care, like members of their own family.

If you as an adult are taking care of another senior citizen who needs help or assisted care every day today, consider Maple Crest when that chore gets to be too much.

150 Douglas Street.

Stop, give them a call, take that walk-through tour with your entire family and find out why all your neighbors and friends and so many people in our community have selected Maple Crest.

There are many reasons and I invite you to find out for yourself.

Chad, Jill and Vicki.

748-7300.

That's the phone number.

Call that number tomorrow.

and say, do you have any openings in the independent end, you know, where people just come and go?

Or do you have assisted level of care open?

Maple Crest, 748-7300.

Maybe someday I'll have to face that option myself.

Beck's Meat Market are with us this evening too.

We had some really nice days recently.

I mean, temperatures dropped down from the high 90s and temperatures, the index was up in the hundreds.

I'm so happy to see that people can get out and do things.

Although in the evening hours, late afternoon, the mosquitoes might still come out.

When you get a little rain and precipitation and the temperatures warm up, it seems like the mosquitoes are soon to follow.

Becks, meat marker, malt you like to grill outside.

So grill outside as much as you can.

Enjoy these wonderful temperatures because once the snow banks return, you're going to wish you had.

Gaster charcoal grills work great.

You get some ribs, some steaks, some barbecue, make barbecue ribs on your grill.

That's how you do it.

That's how we do.

Also natural casing, wieners, becks brats, oh my goodness.

Becks home smoked bacon, oh that's awesome for breakfast.

The other day I took a couple strips of becks bacon and I sliced it about maybe half inch along sections.

Just a couple pieces.

I fried it all up.

drained the grease off and I made some scrambled eggs with bacon bits in and it was that ever good and I put some cheese I diced up some extra sharp cheddar cheese in with the bacon and egg oh was that good on toast buttered toast with a slice of cheese on top of that I tell you I don't think I ever miss a great meal and becks allows me to do so many choices pick up some summer sausage they got regular or garlic ring bologna so many good choices ground chuck

hamburger by the five-pound boxes, one-third-pound patties, or quarter-pound patties for your grill-all party.

Having a picnic?

Let Bex give you the best.

The finest in beef, pork, and poultry.

Good stuff.

We got Eldon Otto coming up from my little buddy over in Winnick County, Howie and Judy Fuss.

Here's Eldon.

And the Zitto Zippers come over in your, what is that name of that town here?

Winchester in that area?

I think it was Zitto.

There you go.

Well, we got a couple of birthdays, Lee Beverage, our captains of industry telling you who's celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and where you can go and get a great evening of old time dancing this coming weekend, okay?

And there's a lot of things going on, so let's jump right in with both feet.

A very happy wedding or a happy birthday tomorrow to Judy Weber.

Her birthday is tomorrow on the 30th.

Also the tractor doctor from Oshkosh.

Ron O'Neill's birthday is tomorrow.

Harry and Ray Ann Schroeder from over near Sheboygan have a wedding anniversary on the first.

So happy wedding anniversary to Harry and Ray Ann.

Let's see here.

I want to turn the page here and get in some dance dates for you here.

And like I say, there are a lot of them.

Okay, here you go.
