They made a trip down and I said, I'll meet you in Oshkosh or Appleton just for a visit.
You know what?
They said, no, if you don't mind, we like to drive all the way to Ripon.
isn't about an hour and a half drive for them.
I thought I'd save them some distance.
I said, you don't want to stop in the valley?
No, we want to go to peace.
They wanted to go and eat at Mr. and Mrs. Peace, so they would travel that extra distance.
If you haven't been there in a while, you owe that to yourself.

Oh yeah, something there with the polka lanterns, Tom and Elmer Hayes, rest of the guys, John and Jim.
And let's see here, we have Teresa Schneider filling on a piano on that recording.
That goes back a few years.
There was a lot of fun back then too.
I miss playing, but I don't miss a late hours in driving home at four o'clock in the morning.
I guess I enjoy going to bed around 11 o'clock instead of being on the road.
I think the people are happy I'm not driving around at that hour too.
had a nice conversation with my pal Howie Foose the other day over in Winnicottie and Howie couldn't make up his mind so I said Howie, how about if I just play another polka?
Yes, Lawrence Ducal!
Just another polka, like any other polka.

Just another polka.

Play Johnny Pecan's polka.
Just another polka.
Hey,
Lawrence
Dooku on the band there and just another polka.
Well after that big storm a week from today last week you can a while imagine how many people that had significant wind damage to their buildings had to call their insurance carrier and I'll wager American family insurance agent Brad and the girls got many calls on Thursday morning reporting damage We've had damages in the past some significant wind that came over the top of Olden Road And I'm happy to see we're still here yet
Even with all the storms the weather has not chased us away from this neighborhood The one thing about American family that I'm very happy to say is I had no problem getting the money that I needed to replace my roof on my house that time That's like what four or five years ago when we had those really bad winds from the northwest came right across Took 30 some of our little trees out of our little grove of woods your trees here one tree even fell on my house
damaged parts of the roof and even my machine shed got damaged.
I'll tell you one thing, American family was there for us and they will be there for you too and your family.
Give them a call, sit down and see how easy it is to be insured by somebody who really gives a darn about you.
748-5031.
748-5031.
Brad and the girls, you give them a call tomorrow morning and tell them to Medan sent you packing that way.
When you need money to replace things that you don't have enough money to you know You just don't have enough money saved up turn to the good financial folks at the work on bank downtown ribbon on the south end of Watson Street John and Jeff are the loan officers there and they will be happy to set you up with a low-interest payback plan 745 2265 is their phone number.
It's a 920 area code.
You know that already member FDIC your
housing lender.
Yes, I don't have a lot of money, but I have some money saved up and I have it in my savings at the Horicon Bank.
Why did you do the same thing?
745-2265.
You seniors work hard for your money.
Make sure it's well protected.
That's what John Trillier and his staff will do.
They don't literally sit there with a shotgun in front of the safe at night.
Everything is well protected.
That's why it's member FDIC.
745-2265.
We got Brian Brigham coming up with an old still-lebel song, one entitled Echoes in the Hills.
Hey, how about that one?
A little bit of the band there that was Brian Brigham and his Mississippi Valley Dutchman from over near Cashion, Wisconsin.
Do you know what Brian does for an occupation when he's not playing in the band?
He has a gas truck.
He delivers gas to farmers, LP gas, not LP, but gasoline and diesel to farmers and homeowners.
That's what he does.
He's a gas truck driver.
I wonder how long he'll be.
driving that truck.
Maybe a few years he'll retire.
Jerry Schneider in the band, I think Bill Halbach is coming up on the vocal with Anna Lisa.
Annalisa Annalisa Annalisa Annalisa Annalisa Annalisa
my last money.
I ordered flowers for you.
Because you didn't come to me, I took it as an offer.
I tore off your cap and threw it out to the window.
Annalisa, oh Annalisa, you hold me by
heart.
Annalisa, oh Annalisa, when will you finally shine?
Nicely done Billy Haubach down the vocal from 1975 is when they made that recording from the clone oasis just west of Chiltern Well, here's a dandy song.
I know a lot of you folks like this one So do this one for Gary and Sue over in Philek Alan Noreen Good folks down in Fox Lake haven't seen you kids in a while.
I sure miss you folks and also for all you other good neighbors of ours It's done by the Polish kid.

Oh boy, modern rentals are with us.
Did you know they're open from seven to five, Monday through Fridays at modern rentals and Saturdays, seven till two in the afternoon, and then of course Sunday mornings, eight till 10.
If you're looking to rent outdoor power equipment, now's a good time tomorrow, rather.
Tomorrow morning you should call and see if you can reserve and rent
that big piece of equipment for the weekend projects or during the week too.
So many of your neighbors and friends like to do that too, or I buy it when you can just rent it for a few hours or half a day or a day, however long you need it.
The rates are reasonable and the machines all run in tip-top performance.
They got mechanics that take care of all these rental units.

Have a great day and a great week for modern rentals.
We also have on our show Beck's Meat Market and they have a store at 1003 North Main Street in Oshkosh.
That's the meat market but if you go in the country you can come to the plant on Clairville Road.
Everything is so fresh and tasty there too.
from roast and steaks and chops, summer sausage, natural casing wieners, becks brats, oh they are so delicious.
I tell you, I like to get some of becks brats and then I take them when they're thawed out and I slice them in half, take the skin off, then I make like a sausage stick for when I make my eggs in the morning.
Instead of having pork sausage and a patty, I just take a couple of brats and slice them lengthwise and fry them up.
Delicious.
Joe P. taught me that trick.
Had Mr. and Mrs. P's eatery.
Beck's Meat Market, you stop and then see them, give them a call, pick up something good, get a couple boxes of hamburger patties already made up.
Either five pound, one third patties, you get 15 in a box.
Or a quarter pound patties, you get 20 in a five pound box.
Either way, you win.
Beck's Meat Market, delicious food, you can't go wrong.
589-2104, and happy grilling from the Beck family.
We got a song by Babe Wagner off some old 78s.
We heard Mike Schneider play Bottoms Up before.
Well, here's another one entitled The Upside Down Polka.
Watch it when you're on the ice.
Hey, how about that one?
A little bit of Babe Wagner demand off some old 78s.
Want to thank Barry for that, getting that recording over to me.
Here's an early recording by the tiny heel in his orchestra, and I think Tiny's going to do the vocal of skirts.
Skirts.
I said you skirts.
You're the big attraction to me.
Skirts.
You flimsy skirts.
That's about all that you can say.
Down around your ankle, up to your knees, and up to your hips, when a low comes to breathe.
Skirts.
I said you skirts, you're the big attraction to me.
Have we got news for you?
Do not be
alarmed if you
hear anything unusual.
Who
cares if none of it's
true?
Frankly, my hair, I don't give a damn.
Story's so cheesy.
Flippant and tasteless verbal remarks.
Now
we're talkin' fun.
It's time for Cheat Talk.
I don't know if I eat quite three, over three and a half pounds of it though.
Maybe I do.
Maybe that's why I look so stealthy.
What do you think?
Here's something, some really dumb people in the world.
A 32 year old man was treated for a gunshot wound in the thigh in a Kentucky hospital.
He had accidentally shot himself, he explained, while practicing his quick draw with a snowman.
I think the snowman won.
A Washington man, Washington state, became frustrated trying to untangle his Christmas lights in his driveway and became even more mad when his daughter came home and drove over his Christmas lights.
So he went inside, got his 45 caliber pistol, took it into his backyard and fired several shots into the ground, after which
he was arrested.
Daniel Carlson Louis was charged with criminal mischief, driving while intoxicated, weapons misconduct, and assault after shooting a hole in the Alaskan pipeline north of Fairbanks.
This is a few years back, resulting in 280,000 gallons of crude oil
spilling over two acres of tundra before crews could stop the leak.
The worst is, in about 20 years, that's how bad that spill was, cleanup cost it and estimated $7 million.
The guy said he did it, said his brother, just to see if he could.
Well now he faces up to 10 years in prison to see if he could, and he will.
Chadwick Dixon.
25 was treated for wounds received while trying to get the gunpowder out of a .22 caliber bullet by holding it with pliers and smashing it on the floor.
Well the bullet exploded hitting him in the leg.
Dixon explained that he needed the gunpowder to put in his dog food to make his dog meaner.
some really dumb people out there.
Back to some more music, we got Molex Fisherman all the way from Iowa clovered by the water after all that nice rain.
Say check.
Eric and Bob Marley, good friends over there from Iowa and the rest of the band, Donnie Van Beren on the tuba and the whole group.
Great sounding band for many, many years.
I gotta tell you, when you go outside on those hot, small three days, do you have to take a shower when you come inside before Mama says you can sit down on the furniture?
Well, that's what I gotta do.
I even have to put some roll on, underarm deodorant on too.
It's a little splash of spritzy, cologne, you know, so I don't smell like a horse.
Anyway, we got Bruce Bradley.
And if you got to take a shower, it's because it's a sweet, near-less view.
Till the-
Finally in the band, they're all the way from Cologne, Minnesota.
When the power went off last Wednesday, did you think maybe it was just your own personal electricity that went out?
I did.
I thought with that high winds, perhaps a tree limb came down and disconnected the wiring from the main pole in our yard to the roadside power, you know, the transformer.
So often that's usually the case when the wind comes up.
But when the main system goes out, most family will call Alliant Energy, at least in our case, that's who I called.
I received the recording saying, there's a main power outage on Olden Road on your end of town.
And they'll fix it as soon as they can.
Well, three hours and 10 minutes later, the power came back on.
And everything got back to normal again.
I kept my freezer cold and the refrigerator shut so that my root beer would not warm up.
Everything is fine.
You know when your power does go out our world seems to always be upset like an apple cart When you have a problem with now the storm it could be something Internally like your fuse box is being overdrawn.
It does not enough power coming through That happened to us several decades ago Corgi and I have been living here over 40 years now I love our neighbors.
They take good care of us when our kids are not around and John and Danny Haley They take care of us too.
They're not family
But I treat them like that.
And they can be good to you too.
So if next time you need electrical power restored, call Healey Electric.
You like these guys.
They're talented and they'll take good care of you right straight out.
That's Healey Electric right here in Ripon.
748-7786.
748-7786.
That's Healey Electric.
Commercial and residential electrical contractors.
Do you ever have a problem falling asleep at night?
You work so hard, your body just can't shut it down.
You probably had a day where you had so much to think about and your body and your mind is still racing.
That happens to me a lot.
Even though I go to bed around 9, 10 o'clock at night and say my evening prayers, there are sometimes I just can't shut my system down.
I'm worried about things that I shouldn't be thinking about.
But seeing March in a funeral home is one thing you don't have to worry about.
If a loved one should be called to their eternal heavenly home, you know that you can have your family be reassured that the good folks at Budsene Marchion Funeral Home can help with the funeral arrangements.
Get everything and all the details taken care of for you.
That should be one detail that does not keep you up at night.
Budsene Marchion Funeral Home.
Chris, Rolanda, and Marisa.
Wonderful folks.
I met Chris and Rolando recently at a family funeral.
Wonderful people.
Really nice people.

Don't hesitate.
If a loved one passes away, Budsene should be your first choice.

And for goodness sake, get some sleep at night.
