There it is.
You know, you know, so and you could see, well, for me, and from my viewpoint of it.
you could see the uncomfortableness of Tom Tiffany.
You could see the frustration of Tom Tiffany.
You could see that he was on the ropes.
Tom Tiffany was on the ropes.
Kept drinking a lot of water.
And then when he chose to, how he chose to do his dismount, you know, when they say you've both got a minute left, you know.
Right.
David Crowley had to go first And what did he end up?
When my plane crashed You know the sympathetic I'm like really that I mean that's when you know somebody just really really just reaching
I love the confidence because it was facts that David Crowley exuded during that whole debate.
Right.
The confidence level.
Yes.
He came.
Yes, he did.
To debate.
Yes, he did.
And what I also felt about that debate was it was like, I've been holding this stuff in for the longest.
Yeah.
We were supposed to go ahead and do another debate and you ran from that one.
Let's go.
Yeah.
And it was just go time.
Yeah.
You know, and, and again, for those who may try to say that, well, Tom, Tiffany went, you blind, you can't see, you need to get some glasses like DMC.
I'm just saying in, in everything that we need in a governor, I heard from David Crowley last night during that debate.
Absolutely.
You know.
from, you know, him trying to do the cut-offs and come in and, well, no, well, he said this, no, and he couldn't give straight answers for nothing in the world.
hit.
He could play some hell of a dodgeball because he was dodging.
Well, he kept accusing.
So.
But I love to hear.
from Truth Nation this morning, if you had a chance to watch the debate and even if you had a chance to see some of the excerpts from the debate.
Yeah, we want to hear from you this morning because in my opinion, David Crowley was just the undefeated winner of that particular debate.
There there should be no questions.
A lot of people who make and he he didn't black down on the things that he said that he stood for and and when he was given examples of.
Uh, the abortion and, and Tom Tiffany kept saying, uh, well, you know, five months, five months.
And then when David Crowley gave the example of the real life example of a woman that was 20, you know what I'm saying?
And, and, and, uh, it was a real life or death situation and, um, that the baby would not have survived and all of that.
And he was like, but.
But would you do this?
Would you do this?
But it's like, right?
Where are you?
Are you a part of the planet?
Right?
Or you just so magga to the to the.
It's like you are.
You don't even understand that.
And I need you to understand like, brother, we ain't talking about the black women.
And no, it was women.
You know, David Crowley was just he was straightforward and direct.
So the.

But we definitely want to hear from you.
Absolutely.
I have my thought.
You're hearing some of my thoughts and opinions of the debate.
I think that David Crowley handled it masterfully.
Like, like it was like he's meant like he he's a governor.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like,
Tom he really got a whole lot in the game when it comes to managing governmental entities, you know what I mean?
He served in the in the house, right?
Right here and the state and but David Crowley has managed the county yes the biggest county in Wisconsin that part so he knows how to manage
you know, a big entity versus someone who hasn't done that.
And we all see what Tom Tiffany is about and what he's trying to do.
And here's here's my thing for some of those who just be like, well, I'm not going I'm not going this person this person that person for those of you who feel that way in my opinion
Listen, I don't want to ever hear you go black and talk about the days of slavery and what happened in 1800 I don't want to hear you use any of that rhetoric I don't want to hear you use any of that because again here you go We got people who fought hard just to say like look we have the right we deserve to be able to vote to and You'd rather throw it away on something that and then still write a whole
dissertation on Facebook or social media about how bad it is.
And this is terrible and all of that.
Like, like just just keep all that.
Just keep it.
Keep all of that.
I don't want to hear or see.
Well, and look how this is.
Guess what?
All those things happen because of people who are elected.
I'm allergic to the ESEs.

Truth in the Morning with Homer Blow and Bailey Coleman is coming up next on the award-winning 1017 The Truth live on YouTube and 1017thetruth.com.
You're waking up to Truth in the Morning with Homer Blow and Bailey Coleman on the award-winning 1017 The Truth live on YouTube and 1017thetruth.com.
I'm the legendary Homer blow along with my girl Bailey Coleman and We are talking about the debate To those of you who oh, let's put that up in a poll.
How many of you watched the debate?
I mean, did you watch the debate?
Yes or no So we can have a greater understanding of how many people are
really understanding the things that we're going to be doing and talking about this hour pretty much.
We've got some clips that we will be playing so you can kind of hear the answers and responses from David Crowley and the way that maybe Tom Tiffany may have answered them.
So we'll be playing those throughout the morning so you'll be able to hear all of that.
Tracy Hayes, great morning.
Love you.
Appreciate you.
What is that?
Thank you.
yeah Sir chance you said on our YouTube page said if you look close at times facial expressions You should have been able to decipher that he felt overmatched Intimidated almost as if he felt like he was in a fight.
He could not win because That's that's the truth if you that's all if you do not use your discrimination
If you do not use your discrimination or your hatred for a certain group of people, then you will absolutely be able to see that we should be talking about Governor David Crowley.
You feel what I'm saying?
Like, he couldn't even, he just, it was just a mismatch.
It was like, Tom Tiffany, why are you even here?
And that's just my honest opinion.
from watching the debate, breaking it down, you know, deciphering this and deciphering that.
And that's what I came up with.
But you know, we we live in a society now, in my opinion, that so many people will cut off their nose despite their
But we got the clip.
Are we doing the ice clip?
We're going to.
We're gonna do an excerpt from the debate last night and we'll be doing a few of these or maybe some Just to kind of let you hear the response to these different questions.
So we're gonna start out with the Sheriff working with ice and You're gonna see and hear that you Xavier great morning.
Love you appreciate you.
We're gonna play that clip
It'll be right black.
challenging the legality of ICE detainers in Wisconsin, a federal agreement that allows Wisconsin sheriffs to work with federal immigration officials in county jails.
Mr. Tiffany, you have expressed support for ICE detainers.
Would you attempt to mandate all Wisconsin sheriffs work with ICE?
And when you talk to most sheriffs around the state of Wisconsin, they do exactly that.
And here's why this is important.
If you have an illegal alien in your state and they have committed a crime,
The only people that can remove that illegal alien are federal agents.
Your county sheriff cannot.
So if you have someone that's in your county jail, it requires federal law enforcement to do it.
Here's what I will do.
I will make sure that local, county, and state law enforcement coordinate with federal law enforcement, coordinate their actions that way when a detainer is issued from federal law enforcement saying there is an illegal alien that has committed a crime, that federal law enforcement can work seamlessly to remove them because it's best to remove them.
them when they're in a setting like the county jail, rather than out in the public.
Would you
mandate that
Mr. Crowley, Milwaukee County, where you are county executive, does not participate and refuses to work with ICE.
Why is that?
And would you attempt to ban sheriffs from working with ICE?
Well, I want to be very clear.
I don't support just a blanket ban when it comes down to cooperation.
We need to follow the law.
And as governor, I will enforce the law.
There are certain priorities I have when it comes down to ICE being in the state of Wisconsin.
First and foremost, we need to make sure that there are no contracts when it comes down to our local police departments and our shares.
We hire our local PD and our shares to protect our local communities.
If they can't do their job, which is based off of trust, how can we make sure that undocumented immigrants will call the police when they see a fire, when somebody's actually in need, because we've erode that trust?
The other thing that we need to make sure that we make sure is a place when it comes down to ISIS, that they cannot wear masks.
They must show a badge, and they cannot incite fear.
They have to let us know that they're in these communities.
And then third, they cannot come into our jails and our prison without a judicial warrant.
We need to make sure that we're protecting people's civil liberties.
We have community members who are so afraid, who have been in this country since they were little kids, who work on the dairy farms that are in Congressman Tom Tiffany's district, who work in our factories, who help build our homes, who are taking care of our most vulnerable populations.
If we're talking about prosecuting...
criminals that we need to do that and they absolutely need to be deported.
But that's not what's been happening
under this federal administration.
You would not attempt to ban the sheriffs from working with ICE just to put a fine point on that.
Excuse me?
You would not push to ban sheriffs from working with ICE.
I don't
think none of our local police departments nor sheriffs should be working with ICE.
So this is a key difference in this campaign and this is a very clear contrast between the two of us.
David has said he will be not just an ally, but an accomplice for illegal aliens.
An accomplice for illegal aliens that commit violent crimes.
I mean, think about the 12 year old girl from Fond du Lac that was tied up by an illegal alien and threatened to sexually assault her.
Are we going to protect somebody like that?
I don't believe we should.
We should make sure that we work with federal law enforcement, do it in a coordinated fashion, and remove those who have committed crimes.
David said he wants to be an accomplice to that.
I'm going to make sure that we have safe streets here.
I
was just very clear right before the congressman said anything that anybody who has criminal behavior and they have been prosecuted
They need to be deported.
I've been very clear on that.
And we need to make sure that we are protecting our communities.
As governor, that's going to be our number, my number one priority is making sure that we have safe communities that we focus on public safety.
When it comes down to public safety, like I can't take Congressman Tom Tiffany's series when it comes down to public safety.
I mean, we're talking about someone who literally prays the pardons of January six years, people who beat up cops, some of them who are convicted of child molestation.
We're talking about someone
who actually protected the billionaire class by voting against the release of the Epstein file.
So when it comes down to public safety, I just can't take the congressman
He has said that he wants to remove half of the prison inmates here in Wisconsin.
By definition, that will cause people with violent backgrounds out on the streets of Wisconsin.
He also said a few years ago, we should have the conversation about defunding the police.
That's why the Milwaukee Police Union and Milwaukee Deputy Sheriff's have endorsed me, not their hometown candidate.
Quick, I want to be
very clear.
You know, I worked with the Republican control legislature to pass Act 12 that brought more money to every single city town village.
to invest in fire, to invest in police, to invest in EMS services.
Matter of fact, your hometown Hazelhurst got a 382% increase because of the deal that I brought to the table.
Every single year that I've been county executive, we have increased funding into the sheriff's office.
And right now we're working on creating the most historic investment and replacing the courthouse without the help of folks like Congressman Tiff.
get
They was pretty absolutely letting it go.
Yeah.
He was like this guy right here.
And he's gonna do this he's gonna even I hold on I started out right we got violent criminals They need to be deported exactly period, but the way that this Ice situation is working.
They they they they skip in everything.
Yep shooting and killing people People who are not violent criminals Just you know, they just have in their way.
Yeah, they're having their way We gotta get ready take care of some bills, but troop nation you have
Seen and heard a clip so you can end up knowing and know we're gonna be playing more before we get to our interview in the last half hour of today's show but
Yeah, we want to hear from you.
We want to hear from you.
You're here in my thoughts.
You're here in Bailey's thoughts.
We want to hear from you and your thoughts.
What is the poll looking like before we go to

And we are breaking down the debate that took place on yesterday evening.
The only debate unfortunately of this campaign for a governor.
Yes.
And we were able to play one of the clips and again for those who didn't see the debate or
Hear the debate.
Tracy Hay said I forgot the debate was coming on, got off work and went to bed.
But yeah, see, but it's these things though that like when you want to really find out.
And I think that, again, a lot of people that may have been undecided about David Crowley.
We really don't know and we don't really know enough and all of that.
You know, one of the things that is interesting to me for those that be saying, well, I don't know enough about
it all
whereas
And with his fearless temperament and aura in general from the very start, David not only insured and validated his five three two zero six street cred slash undisputed black guard.
He did so fearlessly and demonstratively.
Yes.
Let's see Christina Santiago.
Great morning.
Love you.
Appreciate you.
So Tom sure did ignored that Epstein in January six comment.
Okay.
They ate him
My D said Homer Fax.
No lies detected.
They don't know they a homemade.
They're still there.
Right.
You feel what I'm saying?
Blake Gump said David Crowley signs all the way up in Belgium and Eagle, Wisconsin.
Seen it yesterday.
They're everywhere.
Yeah.
As they should be.
You know what I'm saying too.
to let people know.
a person.
And I think this is a gift for those of us who were blessed with parents or even if we just had our mother in our lives and we grew up in the household without our biological father in the household, that look be like, oh, she know I'm lying.
She know I'm lying.
I'm going to get
Let's see on the truth.
Talk text before we go to my D. I said as a 40 year old black man born and raised here in Milwaukee, I spent a lot of time working with the Hispanic community and I'm telling you now they think nothing high of black people.
And that's a sad truth.
But when but our caring nature and giving heart.
Oh, this is happening.
We need to support our brothers and sisters.
We call them our brothers and sisters.
I know I do like these are brothers and sisters.
But yeah, they they it is not reciprocated.
I Love you guys love baby baby.
That's my baby
You my buddy.
Yeah, so much to impact here, but I just wanted to share with you guys that I'm up north and these white folks mad, but it's a lot of quality signs.
These farmers, I was pulling some dirt out of this farmer's yard up north.
They mad, but quality going in because a lot of his sons are up north in these yards and they got ads out talking about Tiffany is against abortion and white folks don't play that.
So he's done.
He's cooked.
Well, he's not cooked
like
but once you attack once you once you try to tell white women what to do with their body They're not they're not voting for you unless they really have to Unless they really have to survive bless y'all.
I love y'all and let me let me get this money over where these racist white folks
and then we're
going to take care of some bills because then we're going to talk about we're going to talk about it.
We're going to talk about it.
So, uh, but yeah, uh, this is the, the part of the debate when they were talking about, uh, legalizing marijuana as not just medicinal, but as recreational as well.
Uh, one had one opinion of it and, uh, David Crowley had another.
And I think it's important.
So we're going to get this.
Clips lined up.
Let me know Xavier when we good we good.
All right We're gonna play this clip and then we'll end up taking care of some bills and come back and talk about it
That's have long advocated to legalize marijuana tax it and use the revenue to fund numerous proposals Nearly half of all states have legalized recreational use including our neighbors in Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota Mr. Tiffany quickly under what scenario would you sign a bill that fully legalized recreational marijuana use in Wisconsin?
So what I would do is I believe we should start with medicinal marijuana I've talked to veterans and others with chronic pain and we should do that I believe should take a step-by-step approach I voted for additional funding for marijuana
I want to research in Congress and I want to see the results of that research and I think that can help states guide them in deciding how they want to address this issue.
Are you open to recreational?
We're going to start with medicinal.
And then we'll take a step-by-step approach.
Mr. Crawley, you said you support full legalization.
What guardrails, if any, would you mandate in statewide legislation?
Well, one, we have to make sure that we have guardrails in place.
We have to protect our children.
We want to make sure that all of the labels are clearly identifiable, making sure that people know exactly what's in their product.
And we have to go towards full legalization because this is opportunity that we're missing out on as a state.
Look, Governor Pritzker literally thinks Wisconsin residents, because they have made $30 million
and sales tax collection just from Wisconsin residents.
If we were to go to full legalization, we could bring in anywhere between 80 to $170 million, helping to invest in health care all across the state of Wisconsin without allowing our money, nor these opportunities to go to Illinois, Minnesota, or
All right, so when we return, we'll go to our True Talk text lines.
Also, we will discuss what's your thoughts.
on both candidates position on the legalization of marijuana.
One appears to just say, only medicinal.
Start with medicinal.
And then the other is saying, hey, if we're going to do it, we losing a lot of money.

so,
Yeah, well for those who didn't watch I'll give you the quiz notes.
Let's go Let's
let's go David Crowley body Tom Tiffany hang
Right
First of all David Crowley bodies Tom Tiffany He did it by showing up prepared right standing on the fact talking about Wisconsin what Wisconsin families actually need and that's healthcare education housing, right?
probably gave us plans as he's been giving us this entire time.
That concept of a plan that Tom Tiffany has been floating, right?
Tom Tiffany essentially has been a mouthpiece for the federal administration and they don't have any plans.
Secondly, to me.
Tom Tiffany almost looked like he was in convenience to be there, right?
A couple of couple of questions that he got, he almost rolled his eyes, right?
Like answering the questions was doing a favor for us, right?
Right, right.
When you are asking, right?
When you're asking to leave this state, answering hard questions comes with the job.
What is your plan?
How do you how are you going to make health care affordable, right?
How
will you support our schools?
How are you going to keep a roof over our families heads in the state of Wisconsin, right?
Uh, as an emergency doctor, I need answers that mean something for my patients or my patients can't afford concepts of a plan when they go to pick up their prescriptions or try to pay their healthcare bills.
And then finally, the last thing that I got, one of the most important things was we finally got an admission that he attended to overturn the 2020 election, right?
Yeah.
You know, he pointed to the fact that Zuckerberg was the reason.
So the private election money that was coming from Mark Zuckerberg was his reason for supporting the effort to overturn the election, which is laughable, right?
And then we know three billionaires at the very
least.
Three billionaires are providing millions of dollars to his campaign, you know, and he's going to be beholden to them, right?
Yeah, Wisconsin cannot buy this spin.
They can't buy this game.
Believe you guys, believe your ears.
Judge the answer that you heard and for me last night made the choice very clear that Tom Tiffany is not the answer was confident David Crowley is the only way forward.
Where do
that?
That's all I'm saying.
No
CJ Ford.
We love you.
Appreciate
but yeah,
Yeah, it's just that part.
It's that part.
Uh, what's another clip we want to play, you know, uh, we'll play that leading up to, uh, our top of the hour and come back and get some more information.
Was it the abortion?
Which, which, what's the time on the abortion clip?
I was at five minutes.
Yeah, that's fine.
That's fine.
And
then we'll go
and
gonna be
I'm letting you know now.
I'm late.
I'm not trying to make no excuse.
Well, I'm gonna be late.
I'm just saying when we return, I'm gonna be late.
Um but I think it's important that we hear this uh clip as well and that we end up uh being able to talk about it
so you
Mr. Tiffany, you've said you would uphold Wisconsin's current law, which bans abortion after 20 weeks.
You've also, though, previously supported stricter bills, including one that banned abortion after six weeks, commonly known as a fetal heartbeat law.
If the legislature passed a fetal heartbeat law and it arrived on your desk, would you sign it as governor?
So a decade ago, when I was in the state Senate, we passed a five-month bill, 20 weeks, officially, but it's basically a five-month bill.
And I voted for that bill?
And it's now the law in the state of Wisconsin, five months.
And when I talked to my constituents, they said, we want you to find a middle ground on this.
We want you to compromise.
And that's exactly what we did.
I stand by that vote of a decade ago, and I will uphold it as the governor of Wisconsin.
So stay the legislature passed a fetal heartbeat law, and it lands on your desk.
You sign it, yes or no?
Mr. Crowley, you're proposing a constitutional amendment asking voters to enshrine a right to abortion in the state Constitution.
Would you sign legislation that legalized abortion with no gestational limits?
Look, I think it's extremely important that we have this constitutional amendment to protect women here in the state of Wisconsin like my three daughters.
I want to make sure that they continue to have access to the same rights that their mother and their grandmother had and keep politicians like Congressman Tom Tiffany out of the doctor's office.
These are decisions that need to be made between a patient
and their healthcare provider, and these aren't decisions that are made lightly.
The reason why we are asking for this constitutional amendment is because you have folks like Congressman Tom Tiffany who celebrated the fall of Roe v. Wade.
Women are holding their breath every four years just to make sure that they can get access to the care to protect themselves, and we need to make sure that we're doing exactly that.
So Bill lands on your desk that legalizes abortion with no gestational limits.
You sign it, yes or no?
There was a woman in Western, Wisconsin.
Yes or no?
No, no.
Let me finish my story.
There's a woman in Western, Wisconsin who had two kids who was getting ready for her third.
She went for her 20-week scan and found out that the fetus had no kidneys, and that fetus was not going to last and was going to die.
When she needed to get access to her care, she had to go all the way to Minnesota because she couldn't get the care that she needed here in the state of Wisconsin.
And if Congressman Tiffany had his way with the decisions that he has made while in Washington, she wouldn't be able to go anywhere and would have had to carry that baby.
We should be, these decisions, these decisions need to be made between a patient and a healthcare doctor.
But these are laws, so if the bill ends on your desk, you do what?
These are decisions that need to be made between
the patient and a health care provider.
I don't believe a law like that would actually reach my
So my name was used in his comments and he said, women hold their breath.
All you women out there, you will not have to hold your breath when I'm governor.
I voted for a five month bill when I was in the state senate.
I will uphold that law as the governor of the state of Wisconsin.
But we need to find out.
I have been very clear where I stand.
I've given the answer that I'm at five months.
David just dodged the question again.
He refuses to say how many months will he stand for because from what

Like, you don't say when he had to listen to Tom Tiffany's response.
They're like, why are you lying?
Yes.
Why are you lying?
Oh, MK, you said it's going to be very intriguing to see how they try to spend this debate and even furthermore debates.
David's candidacy as a fluke.
It won't work, though.
He was too sharp last night.
That's what I.
started it out saying that he was that sharp.
Uh, okay.
He said, we just hope everyone continues to get people to the polls and engage the whole tables need to be turned across the state.
What just happened?
I was in the midst of it.
It's okay.
It's
Blake Gump said we want to go vote today or tomorrow proudly all the way Crowley and you can Early voting is going on right now.

No, none of it.
Not man down.

So, yeah, but we are black.
We are still talking about the debate.
Do we have another short clip that we can play at one of the two minute clips?
We can find one of the two minute clips got us all of you know, I really own point.

I've seen it
this
yeah,
Mr. Crowley, your critics describe you as a liberal, prolific spender, who consistently raises taxes on his constituents.
Why should voters trust what you're going to say tonight, and if elected, you won't just continue to raise their taxes?
Well, I'm proud of my record of being county executive.
Every single year, we've been able to bring down the property tax rate.
We deliver the largest property tax cut in history.
And every single year, we've balanced the budget.
And I did that by working with Democrats and Republicans on a bipartisan level to make sure that we can deliver for our communities.
at stake with this election.
This is about having a governor who's going to work for you, someone who's going to invest in your future, or someone who's going to work for the billionaires that are bankrolling their campaign, or doing exactly what Donald Trump wants them to do because they voted with them 100% of the time.
This is about making sure that every single person in the state of Wisconsin can move forward, and I want to make sure that what I've done here in Milwaukee County and what we've done across this state together, we can continue when I'm the next governor.
Mr. Tiffany, your critics describe you as
as
a mega extremist who has voted with President Trump 99% of the time.
So why should voters trust
and won't just have the president's interest at heart?
But first, Matt, I just want to say happy anniversary to my wife, Chris, 31 years ago today.
We met at the Thirsty Whale in Managua, been together ever since.
The key issue in this campaign is affordability.
And that's solely what I am focused on at this point is making sure that Wisconsin is more affordable.
There's some things that we can do as governor.
One, we should return all of the $3 billion budget surplus to the people of Wisconsin.
They overpaid into state government.
We should return that money to them.
There's a surplus at the state level.
I think taxpayers out there, they don't have a surplus in their bank accounts.
We're going to end the 400-year property tax increase.
We're taxing people out of their homes.
Young people are not able to afford to be able to buy a new home.
We're going to reduce taxes on the middle income taxpayers of Wisconsin, and we're going to do no taxes on tips and overtime, just like I did federally.
We're going to put more money into people's pockets.
Now, contrast that with my opponent.
And that is one of the clearest contrasts in this election.
He said to you that he believed that higher taxes were not a burden when he nearly doubled the sales tax.
That was the one year that property taxes went down.
He raised the sales tax instead.
Taxes have went up every single year that David Crowley has been county executive.
You know what he's going to do as governor.
had
I'm saying?
He went
the plane.
Like
closing
and he's
and
Yeah, of
I think the debate was, I think Crowley did great.
I think time Tiffany belly flop.
I don't think he was prepared.
And a lot of the things he's talked about, he contradicts himself by the person he represented.
What he talked about, he want to lower taxes.
Well, how can you talk about lowering taxes where the person you promote brag about raising taxes on blacks and Native Americans?
It's a contradiction.
and then when you look at the airplane how he said it was it took the fire department 16 minutes to get there he wouldn't have to worry about the airplane if he would have just jumped on i-31 or i-39 and drove but it was it was a dead end because he he couldn't really come with no facts
so
i just think he was unprepared he knew he knew he was going to lose and i and i feel like
They just put, they put him there to look stupid because every time David Crowley came with some, he tried to come with a comedy attack and then the comedy attack wasn't even there.
But hey, that's who he represents.
So he lost half a good day and stopped using that plane crash because it would have been easy just to get on the highway and he wouldn't have to swim.
But didn't he say he's swim 50 miles?
Right, right, right.
Thank you.
Have a good day.
Hey, my name's Charlie.
Charlie.
Hey, I, uh, I feel like I'm going to sound like this.
You're out of Milwaukee County.
You're going
like what now?
But I, excuse me, like an evil, the evil white guy who is not from Milwaukee County.
But I hear you guys all say that Tiffany belly flopped and I really, really wanted to like David Crowley last night.
But he seemed like such a rehearsed politician.
Everything that he said seemed to be really, really scripted.
And when they asked about abortion, like give any details, when they asked Tiffany, he had a number.
When they asked about taxes, Tiffany had a plan.
It seems like Crowley just kind of recited a lot of.
rehearsed things that he planned in the back room, whereas Tiffany actually had numbers and he was unable to answer questions.
And that's really all I noticed.
So
not schooled on
kept drinking all of that
did you
Okay, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie.
What was it?
What was his direct
what?
No, no, no, it
direct to you?
What is he

Yeah, but as a Wisconsin resident listening to that, I don't care about

It's okay, it's okay.
I'm worried about Wisconsin.
I got to happen in Wisconsin.

I got you versus like some Trump Trump sucks.
Trump is the worst.
OK,
but so Charlie, if you're saying that, are you saying that Tom Tiffany hasn't exhibited everything that our president.
Exists you know puts out in the universe.
You're telling me he doesn't know You said the orange man sucks so if the orange man What are you saying about Tom Tiffany because everything and every move he's made has been that of

Nixon and Kennedy had to have a debate like what in the 50s or something and Kennedy won because Nixon had the flu and he had really bad answers like really like I wanted to see a person that I saw on TV and was I relate to that and that makes sense.
It makes sense to my life.
We'll agree to disagree.
We will.
We will.
We will.

Thank you.
But yeah, we got to get ready to take care of some bills and we got our guests.

So listen.
It's all about our pink and blue health summit coming your way on November 14 10 a.m.. To 1 p.m.. At thrive on King 21 53 North Dr. Martin Luther King Drive this morning our special guest in studio from the prostate health equity project Shannon Reed
And a doctor is a good morning, gentlemen.
here in
Shannon Reed is a community health professional with the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center, where he supports cancer prevention, health equity and community outreach initiatives, including the prostate health equity project with a black ground.
community engagement, health care coordination, and program development, Shannon focuses on connecting individuals and communities to the resources, education, and opportunities needed to improve health outcomes.
His work emphasizes building trusted relationships, strengthening community partnerships, and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals to become more informed and engaged in their health.
Beyond his work at MCW, Shannon is passionate about youth development, leadership,
and expanding access to opportunities throughout Milwaukee.
Again, great morning, Shannon.
That's all
depressive,
impression.
Yeah, that's you, right?
That's you, right?
I
him not to say it.
Who is Shannon Reed?
He play football?
I need you to know who Shannon Reed is.
He can play
football,
Look
him.
So we got to
Dr. Kevin D. Izard MD is a board certified family medicine physician and community health leader with a longstanding commitment to improving health equity.
A graduate of the medical college of Wisconsin, Dr. Izard has dedicated his career.
to preventative care, chronic disease management, and community-engaged approaches to improving population health.
He serves as president of the Cream City Medical Society, where he works to advance workforce diversity and address racial and ethnic health disparities.
Dr. Izard has also been engaged with the community and cancer science networks effort addressing prostate cancer disparities, including serving as the co-leader of the Prostate Health Equity Project.
So this is who we talking about.
Hey, listen, round of applause.
We need to do the applause for both Shannon Reed
amen.
are
Yes.
Yeah, now people have been hearing a little while about this pink and blue sun, but probably wondering what is that about?
so there's two arms to it, the pink side,
the
women's side,
and the
focus on the breast cancer and the blue side, the men's side.
Now, I actually got involved with prostate cancer a little while ago.
There was a project looking at
health care disparities and looking at specifically prostate cancer disparities in Milwaukee.
And as part of that, we came across this map that looked at, it's a heat map.
So you've seen heat maps.
There's
a
map of Southeast in Wisconsin, red areas are where you have a high incidence of something.
And then you got the blue areas was a low incidence.
So if you look at this map, you can see that throughout Southeast in Wisconsin, we're talking about Walker Shaw County.
Ozaki County, Milwaukee County, Waukesha, I said Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha and Walworth.
Look at those counties and the instance of prostate cancer is pretty well distributed throughout all those counties.
You look at the prostate cancer deaths and they're all centered in Milwaukee and Racine,
is where the black folks are.
why is that?
And me as a doctor, someone who's screening guys for prostate cancer,
I have to ask the question, what should I be doing different with my black men?
Now, I'm gonna take a little bit.
I'm gonna try to do it succinctly, but there was a study that was done looking at prostate cancer.
Okay, it's the most common cancer in men.
And it was a 10-year study looking at screening for prostate cancer.
So they took 3,000 guys, put them in this study.
Half were in the study group, half were in the control group.
The control group got the usual care, meaning that they got checked
only if they had an issue.
The guys in the study group, however, got checked every year.
They got a rectal exam, and they got a PSA blood test.
They filed the two groups, but they filed with the guys that got screened in the screening group.
They were more likely than a control group to have an elevated PSA detected.
Not surprising, because they were checking them every year.
They were more likely to, because of the elevated PSA, to get a biopsy done.
Some of the guys got infections from the biopsy, they're retreatable, but they're more likely to get a biopsy related infection.
They're more likely in the control group to be diagnosed with prostate cancer and then to have their prostate removed, and this is where it gets important.
Because they have their prostate removed, they're more likely in the control group to develop erectile dysfunction, bladder incontinence, and bowel incontinence.
And the kicker of all this is that over that 10-year period, the guys in the study group who had all those things
happened to them, did not live any longer than the guys in the control group who did not get screened.
Wow.
Wow.
Yeah, I know.
Everybody said, wow.
And so it was when the information came out and the medical community saw it, they said, wow, this is the same thing.
Right.
And it said, well, a lot of doctors said, well, I'm going to stop screening for prostate cancer because this study showed that screening guys put you at increased risk for having all these other things happen, but it didn't increase your your length of life.
Wow.
And so.
a lot of doctors stop screening, and now we're finding that in the wake of all that, the incidence of prostate cancer is going up again.
So probably what happened is that we know now, and we knew a little bit about that then, is that most of these cancers are very slow growing cancers.
They might sit there for 20 years and never kill you, even though you have prostate cancer.
So we did a better way to distinguish
which cancers are aggressive and which ones are going to sit there for 20 years.
And so if you are diagnosed with prostate cancer, now more likely you might receive what they call active surveillance.
So we might check your prostate, take the P.S.
Let's say, check it again in six months, check it again in a year.
See what it looks like.
If the numbers are high, but they're not going up, we're more likely to say, let's continue to watch it and monitor it.
If the numbers are high and they're going up, then they're probably saying, this is probably aggressive.
Let's be more aggressive with the cancer.
Let's get it out.
So the point of today of the pink and blue summit and this talk on prostate cancer is to educate guys about this whole issue.
So.
What the US prevented there's an organization called the US preventive services task force and they make recommendation about screening tests So things like prostate cancer colon cancer breast cancer those things and mammograms So they recommend they were recommending it before this that every guy should get their prostate checked then after this whole study came out the PLCO study came out They said oh, well, we can't really recommend this because there are clear harms of being in that screening group But there's no clear benefit so but they said
that the doctor should have a conversation with the patient, explain the risks versus benefits, and let them decide.
If they had no signs of prostate cancer and they want to be screened, that's reasonable, go ahead and screen them.
But if they have no signs of prostate cancer, for that reason they don't want to be screened, that's also reasonable, so don't screen them.
So kind of put it up in the air.
But most guys, if you ask them,
We'll say they never had that conversation.
No one ever explained to them
whole risk versus benefits thing.
Wow.
And the other kicker did all this and this takes you back to the map.
I talked about the heat map is this when those 35,000 guys are in this study, they were almost all white guys.
Does this apply to black guys?
Because we know that when black people have cancer, when black men have prostate cancer, it's more likely to be a more aggressive type of cancer and it tends to be further spread.
So.
And I may be saying, oh, it doesn't matter whether you get screened or not.
Does that apply to my black men?
Should we be screening them differently?
Should we screen them earlier?
And that's what a lot of people said.
Instead of screening at 50, we should be screening black men and other people at high risk at 45 or maybe even 40.
So there's a whole lot of information that we as black men need to know about prostate cancer because it is the most common cancer in men.
And it's not the most aggressive one because more people die from.
from lung cancer, pancreatic cancer is a lot more aggressive, but it is the most common cancer
the
We got all the things.
We'll hear from you.
And again, to talk about just how important this Pink and Blue Health Summit is happening at Thrive on King on November 14th from 10 a.m.

Welcome, Black.
Truth in the Morning on the award-winning 1017 F.M.
The Truth.
We are pleased and honored to be joined in the studio by Dr. Kevin D. Izzard M.D.
and Shannon Reed.
Listen.
Dr. Izard gave us a lot of great information, but you know, sometimes people like, okay, I, okay, I heard this, I heard that.
Can you break some of that down in layman terms to where as you know, just everybody be like, look, bro, this what you need to do.
You should be doing this.
So
brother.
It's just some
know sometimes that's just some high-end information that kind of goes over people's heads.
Right.
So I wanted to say really quickly in layman's terms, I know that our African-American men, the rates of death within prostate cancer is twice as high within our black men in comparison to our white men, you know?
And I think that's beyond unfortunate.
So I know through the prostate health equity
project, we actually have the opportunity
to go where the people are, you know?
We actually just had
an event over at Summer of 85, where we're meeting.
Staying in,
Mike.
And I know we are currently going to make sure that we have this next event over at Thrive on King, where we are going to make sure that we are making this conversation.
bringing some synergy to that conversation.
As I always like to say, I think it's a more holistic conversation when you have a more familiar conversation.
So when you can actually bring the women into the conversation, the men into the conversation, bring them into the same rooms, I think that's where you start to see the real impact.
And so amidst this pink and blue event, I think that's what we're really gonna see here.
We're gonna have the opportunity.
for the women to join the conversation and get them to understand just as much of the importance as to what they bring to this health awareness, you know, because it doesn't happen without us doing it
How hard has it been to, you know, because we hear the importance of why men, especially black men and women in general, we all need to get these checks because we don't hear about that.
How has it been difficult trying to build the community trust around these issues because they're killing us,
right?
You don't understand in a
you know,
Yeah,
reasons why that Why the the death rate for black men is twice as high as white men Some of it may be access, you know, so you don't have a doctor you're going to or you don't place it go Some of it is maybe genetics, you know, so we don't know if there's something that's We're inheriting that makes us higher risk It may be our lifestyle the foods we're eating The stress that's in their life, you know, so all those things are kind of being looked at as possible reasons why
And so I'm looking at again just look at southeast in Wisconsin and look at that map There's something about even when you look at access.
I mean and Milwaukee should have pretty good access now whether you have a doctor's a whole nother thing But you should have pretty good access to these two hospitals,
you know
And we got freighter.
We got a roar.
We got you know, we got all these Places that should be able to treat you, but there's something else going on So that's why we're trying to get that word out because a lot of people aren't being screened
And usually if you ask guys, do you want to be screened for prostate cancer?
First thing to think of is they're getting a rectal exam.
And they say, no, you're putting your finger there.
Right.
And so we're trying to get the word out also now that after looking back at all this stuff, we know that most guys, over 90% of guys who have prostate cancer will have an elevated PSA, that blood test.
And you don't need to do the rectal exam to detect that.
So rather than lose all these guys because they don't want to be screened because they don't want the rectal exam, they're saying now,
Skip that we'll just focus on doing the blood test and in fact during this event you can get your blood tested there right there There's no reason no reason not to do it.
I held connections.
There you go, right?
Yeah, so you'll get your blood tested and you'll know right there whether your PSA is elevated Yeah, there's a whole lot of whole lot of stuff we want to get out to the information
You know, a lot of the men that we're reaching out to, man, they're busy.
You know what I mean?
We take so much time making sure that we're fending for our sons, our daughters, the family and its entirety.
We're trying to make sure that just like Dr. Izer said, we're making it accessible
for
them to make sure that they do actually get, you know, find the places and spaces much like our events that we're hosting.
to show them that, obviously, there are people who are concerned and looking to make that just as accessible as possible
Yeah, do you think it's a fear factor?
Because, you know, oftentimes a lot of men are stubborn.
Yeah.
And it's because...
If they go in and they get the test and the test shows like, uh, yeah, we need to start working on this right away.
It'd be like, man, I knew I should have went to the doctor.
Exactly.
Yeah,
find something wrong.
You know, and women are a whole lot better, you know, women are a whole lot better, but they don't get anything.
They don't take it hurt.
They pinky
finger.
And they going to
see you.
That's all we need them in the same room.
That's true.
And most of the time,
they're setting up the stuff for the guys.
Yes.
interesting.
Well, we know that if you could, if you detect prostate cancer, well, it's still just in the prostate before it spreads outside the prostate.
Your nine, your five, your survival rate.
They measure survival.
Your five-year survival rate is 90% over 95%.
So you got a pretty good chance of surviving that prostate cancer.
Once it gets out, once it becomes metastatic, your risk goes down.
Now your survival rate is in the 40s.
So you got to get that cancer early.
Other things interesting too, what you told me, you said you're two brothers who have prostate cancer.
There is a connection, and we're not quite sure how
between breast cancer and prostate
there's a brachy gene
about we've been looking at that for breast cancer, but guys who have the brachy gene are more likely to develop prostate cancer.
there's a connection.
I know that's also why we're making this conversation so vital is making sure that we highlight the importance of family health history.
Yes, you know, yeah, I think that's something that we overlook truly is that we don't
take the time to have these conversations with our family to make sure we get an understanding as to how we were all impacted.
Right.
I know some of us like to say that, you know, we always, specifically in our culture, we can be very secretive.
Right.
You know, Grandma can pass away from something and we'll say, you know, she passed away from, you know, what we like to say diabetes
or sugar or whatever it may be, you know, you know.
And so we
never really quite talk about exactly what those cases look like.
And so to be more preventative, as Dr. Izard is saying, to make sure that we can even say how we can go into these health spaces for ourselves and have more of, I would say, what all the systems and tools needed to make sure that you can better advocate for yourself.
Right, exactly.
And you can only do that once you have the incentive information to say that grandma passed away from breast cancer.
Yeah.
And if she passed away from breast cancer, maybe I should be getting screened for prostate cancer at an earlier age.
Right.
So that's only taken on once you are actually prepared to do so in those times.
you know what else is important when we have things like the events like this is that when guys get to talking about their experience and how they have prostate cancer and they're still doing fine, they survive, they're doing okay.
It makes it easier for the next guy who hears that says, okay, this is an end of the world.
likely to go ahead and get screened or go ahead and get treated if they hear from somebody else who's going through the same
