How are you?
I'm blessed.
I'm blessed, you know, I was able to go see the Jersey boys Broadway production
Oh, great at Marcus Performing Arts Center on yesterday evening.
It's their 20th anniversary tour.
And, you know, I'd never got to see it.
I always saw promo about the Jersey boys.
Right.
I mean, and I guess for 20 years because it's been on Broadway and it's still on Broadway.
So and this is why I also say Bailey when we have chances.
to have some of these Broadway productions here in our city.
Right.
We got to go and check it out.
Right.
But I just think that to really understand how Broadway productions go and that's why they're in New York.
on Broadway for decades, you know, here with the Jersey boys, you're talking about 20th year anniversary of the Jersey boys.
And it's the story of Frankie Valley and the four seasons and how it all began.
So they really take you on a journey to see where it started, you know, how they because they didn't start out as the four seasons.
And Frankie Valley was ended up being I learned the whole.
history of it all, you know, of course, I play the music like after the, you know, after the fact, just like being like, okay, remember this song, you know what I'm saying?
And just to get the history to find out like a lot of them ended up going to jail and,
And so with all of the Italian slang and things of that nature, it was
very, it's very well put together.
And I guess that's why it's been 20 years and counting now for the Broadway production of Jersey Boise.
Opening night was last night.
Sold out, of course.
And of course, it'll be there until the 25th.
But if you get a chance to go check it out at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, please do.
Please do.
7 30 p.m.
Showtimes, especially like during the week.
But yeah, it was an amazing, amazing show.
And I would encourage people to go out and check it out.
You got to open up your mind.
You got to check out the their standing ovations through the performance.
And of course, at the end.
But again, it really gave me the history lesson of Frankie Valley in the four seasons.
I says this is one of those ones.
We're like, OK, we were in the Motown like.
just Motown, but they had so many hits that, yeah, that we know them, but we didn't, you know what I'm saying?
We didn't care to find out, you know, oh, they were a sensation and things of that nature.
So Jersey Boys at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, I would encourage you to go.
I would go again.
I would go again.
But yeah, so, yeah, go check out that Broadway production, Jersey Boys.
Shout out to Lila at Marcus Performing Arts Center.
Thank you.
And Bailey, you got to get black in.
Yeah, you got to get black in.
So maybe I'll do the because, you know, there's been some things, you know, that have changed over the years.
Right.
But yeah, I'll definitely make sure that you're connected.
Yeah.
I got to say, though, I went and I got my flu shot, right?
OK.
Cause I've been here and you know, I ain't had a flu shot in a minute.
Okay.
It's been some years.
Okay.
Straight up.
Uh, the last time I took one was during, uh, like at the end of COVID, like the last year of COVID.
And that was, and I took it at the same time as I took the COVID shot, which they were saying, Oh, that's fine.
Do it all.
No, you can't do that.
Okay.
Okay.
So, um, you know, they were like, well, you might have some symptoms that won't last more than 48 out.
Guess what, Homer?
That's what I did this weekend.
This past weekend.
Guess what?
No symptoms.
There you go.
No symptoms.
Okay.
There you go.
No 2448.
Now, if I had taken that shot before I left town, you know what?
Then you had to let it go.
Then I had to let it

We just want to stand there and do a two-step.
What, 50?
Oh, no.
What is
You learn this morning.
State extends the UMOS contract to provide food, health and housing services in Milwaukee County.
This is something that we wanted to talk about and they brought this out on October 19th.
and it's on the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, commonly referred to as NNS.
And UMOs will continue providing food, housing, and health services for low-income residents in Milwaukee County through June 30th of 2027.
is the result of a contract extension that the Wisconsin Department of Children and Family says is aimed at preventing gaps in care while a permanent community action agency is found.
Last November, the state contracted the South Side based nonprofit to be an interim provider of anti-poverty services with the remainder of federal block grant funding originally allocated to the Social Development Commission.
helping residents file their income taxes, get job training, and more before it reported financial problems in 2024 and stopped offering services.
The Department of Children and Families removed SDC's Community Action Agency designation in November of 2025, which was upheld by a federal office.
This ended SDC's eligibility to receive funding through the Federal Community Service Block Grant.
a reimbursement-based grant that can be used to leverage funding for anti-poverty services.
You most had until September 30th, 2026, to use $2.1 million in 2025, the Community Service Block Grant Funding, which the organization put towards food, rental, and mortgage assistance and health services for low-income residents in its Community Pathways Program.
Going forward, UMOS can utilize $1.4 million, the remainder of available funding for the service region from federal fiscal year 2026, according to the contract.
The department had already awarded an additional $729,000 to the non-profits contract in May because UMOS was serving more individuals than initially projected, according to a department spokesperson.
Marjorie Rivera Torres, vice president of social services for UMOS, said the non-profits finance department in October was still closing out the original grant period and confirming how much funding it used for community pathway programs and services.
Rivera Torres said it used $1.38 million for the housing assistance part of the program.
where residents could apply for up to $1800 in rental, mortgage, or property tax assistance.
From January through September, UMOS reports that it served 899 individuals with housing assistance exceeding the original goal of 325 households by 574 households and completed 492 behavioral health referrals and 513 physical health referrals according to Rivera Torres.
At the UMOS food pantry and partners locations, the program distributed
a total of 1,068,862 pounds of food, which served 9,133 households according to Rivera Torres.
Community members can contact UMOS to apply to the Community Pathways Program.
However, UMOS is pausing the Housing Assistance Program for October while it updates the requirements for winter and will reopen it on November 1st, Rivera Torres said.
For us, it's
really important to be able to support families when the weather is not the best, she said.
UMOS will continue to work with Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, Northcott Neighborhood House, Well Point Care Network, Outreach Community Health Centers, and the Medical College of Wisconsin as partner agencies.
And it's finalizing new partners, Rivera-Torres said.
So yeah, again, these programs are all important.
If you were wondering, OK, well, what happened after SDC?
especially knowing that they exceeded the number of people that they were originally, you know, had designated as a benchmark.
And so they serve more than five hundred seventy four more.
families and people, right?
Then what they had originally, you know, said, we can do this, we can do that.
But there's a bigger need.
There's a greater need that's going on in our community.
And the amount of evictions and all of that that is going on, right?
You know, it's a lot.
including, in my opinion, people who are responsible.
So now you add in some of the people, in my opinion, that are irresponsible and not doing the right things with what they got and trying to sell the EBT cards and when they have money instead of paying their bills, they up there trying to get more hair and nails and trying to, you know, live a lifestyle which you really can't afford.
So besides those people that are doing things like that, you got people that are working in busting their butt

I'm the legendary Homer Blow along with my girl.
Bailey Coleman.
We're talking about you most and I got a text and I have to do an update again.
I am blosher dumbest.
I am him.
He is I when I talk about certain things.
Yeah, when I get to this one, Bailey, yeah, you're going to be like,
So to just take a break.
Del Matt.
Great morning.
Love you.
Appreciate you on a YouTube page.
Just to just to go black because sometimes you have to just rewind.
Right.
Some of the conversations that you had and
the call to action.
Right.
You know, it was a whole lot of people.
We hear this.
Okay.
Right.
And great morning to the brother that sent this to me.
Uh
He said, uh, he said, uh, good morning, blow.
Welcome, black.
I was recently at a city of Milwaukee licensing committee meeting for an alleged controversial Eastside bar that censored several majority black musical entertainers.
Three white males were representing the venue.
all dressed like farm workers.
When asked about the decision not to play the artists, they were dismissive.
There was no one in the audience to object to their license.
I'm black with dreads and dress urban.
I felt like objecting just because.
So question is, do black urban dwellers have selective outrage, just asking and their renewal pass?
Of course it did.
But.
Where, where, where was the outrage?
Where were, see, this is how you black up the anger.
This is how you black
So.
And so this was all the outrage.
Yeah.
The emptiness.
All of this, uh, you know, where are the Milwaukee artists that had a damn problem with it when it was going down?
Yeah.
They license passed.
Yeah.
It's renewed.
Yeah.
They don't happen to open up under the new ownership or the ones that are coming in to take over.
They could reopen as the garage and whatever else it is called.
We've had conversations where y'all chimed in and y'all was mad and this and that because y'all was mad about different stuff going on at King before we even talked about before this latest story came out.
Y'all was all up in arms about King even when the debt we said this is your time to ask about Amy and all the other things going on over there.
Y'all didn't call in and say nothing.
Amy had already happened.
She had already been the teacher imposter when Dr. Casselius came in
student, had
And that's
That's the the anger and the frustration part with me because it's like, okay.
Now's your chance.
What was that?
I'm going to get you sucker where, uh, Clarence, uh, read the third where it's like, uh, they were mad and they, they marched on the government building and they went in, they were upset and angry.
He said they went in with guns and came out with jobs.
It said.
The brothers weren't angry anymore.
You know what I'm saying?
And it's like, we are so easy to figure out.
You know, it's like, all we got to do is this, all we got to do is that, all we got to do is wait them out.
They'll be mad for a couple of weeks and then it's over.
Yeah.
And sure enough, nobody went to say, look, I'm here in objection.
Right.
And here's what we're going to hear, Bailey.
I didn't know about it.
Yeah Let's we're gonna take out okay.
Okay.
Great morning.
Love you appreciate you You're the different conversations.
What's your truth?
Well, I know you were talking about the SDC and things of that nature and
Where we is right now if you don't do right by your money, that's a struggle you welcome if you like it I love it
But I think the reason I like all this stuff that's going on is because a lot of people have a dope head mindset Whether it depends on it doesn't care what side you own Everybody got their hand in the pot.
Mm-hmm.
All right They didn't see this orange gold fish white man get up there and everybody got their hand in the pot There's always something somebody getting in there getting a hand in the pot NPS getting money
Okay, during the whole chaos they asked him for money just like a junkie.
During the process, I'm there.
He slid his head in the pot too, whether y'all like it or not, just like a colic, because they don't ever do it when everything is going good.
We're gonna have to wait for chaos and then we go, I didn't know what was going on, but if I see some number in this check, everybody got a dope theme mindset and they got their hand in the pot.
I wouldn't be surprised in a couple of months.
Something's gonna come out with everything with you, Mo, that somebody had their hand in the pot.
And this is what happens when chaos happens, you know?
I think it needs to be house cleaning.
It needs to be screen cleaning.
It's saying what our neighborhoods, and I'm gonna say it, the community is tired.
Some of them don't need to be there.
You know it's bad.
When the people that's doing the government got black people thinking they did something wrong, like these people are actually dumb.
Well, when you're no better, you do better.
Well, if these people stopped acting like porch monkeys, you wouldn't have to worry about that.
But these people actually really think I need to open my door and put my head on the ground.
Some of these people in our community are doing all the government and bringing the private detachment down don't know what they're doing.
So if you don't know if they don't know what they doing, why do they run when they see the police?
That
we got
break.
All I'm gonna say is everybody stop acting like you're dumb and call it out.
And when that woman came on there, it's probably because she knew that me and that Rufus King was getting ready to come out with sexual assault.
Y'all have yourself a good day.
All
you down
talk
that.
AM.
You're late.
Truth of the morning on the award-winning 1017 FM broadcasting live from the American Family Insurance Studio in the heart of downtown at the Avenue.
And listen, Bailey, going back to Jersey Boys last night, there's a scene in there where the person says that you're late.
And I was like, yep.
So, so sure.
I'm like, see, see, is that what you got?
No, I didn't.
I've never seen the production until I wouldn't seen it last night.
But yeah, it was just amazing to hear.
He like late.
And I was like, and he said it with that type of inflection.
So I was like, wow.
See, even the Jersey boys know.
It's your late.
So there's Ryan Kawanda.
We got another, you know, champion cheerleader for us.
And it's been going on for 20 years to play Jersey boys, a Broadway production play.
So, yeah, so we got somebody to black us up.
But Bailey, again, it's really disheartening when I see and hear about these things of people not showing up, you know, not being a part of the solution.
But always helping to talk about the
on
The other things that were close in proximity and similar So she just wanted to look at they do that You know different governmental entities and stuff do that because they want to look like even though this big story They knows about they want to get ahead of it.
Yeah, and let you know that they're there no matter what right and She did answer the questions about the whole Amy
Right.
And I take full responsibility.
Yeah.
I mean, that's what you want and need a person to do.
Yeah.
But then she also talked about the things that they enacted since.
Right.
Those incidents that we ended up talking about.
And they didn't add some
good with my contract for some decades now.
But there are some situations where I hear about other people and be like, well, was that in your contract?
And like, man, I got everything else in there, but I didn't think about putting that in there because they feel like I didn't need to put that in there because it's a no brainer.
Right.
Nope.
You got to put everything in
But yeah, so we have to really like Let our voices be heard.
That's why I say just talking on
Social media whatever social media sites you're doing and doing little personal videos on social media That's not enough.
They're not gonna take that and make it admissible in the situation Unfortunately we've been shown and proven that we have to show up.
Yeah, we got to show up.
Sure.
It may work for other people.
Yes
That's how it should be for everybody.
But when you know it's not that way for everybody, you have to approach it accordingly.
Yeah.
Should we have not, uh, should we have been able to say, you know what?
Uh, we don't know it need to go to this license hearing for the garage who had this thing that everybody was talking about.
That's racist.
That's discrimination and all of that, but not one damn discrimination.
Artists or community people showed up at their license hearing, which passed.
It passed.
Did they ask them about it?
Yes, but they were dismissive about it.
And it's like, OK, all right.
Is there anybody here in objection?
Because again, that's where I'm going where I talk about when we have opportunities to go to town hall meetings or neighborhood community meetings and things like that.
And some of the people that have these issues.
don't show up, but now they have the people there that you're saying they don't pick up our garbage.
Right.
The street sweeper don't never come this, that and the other.
You don't even know the schedule of your street sweeper.
You don't even know
on here
You can also go right to the website and find out when is the garbage collection in my area?
When is the recycle?
collection in my area.
Yep.
You don't even do that.
Not at all.
You don't do that.
But then you want to talk about they don't never pick up over here.
What's your date?
Because it's Monday and it still looks like this.
But they just say it's Monday.
They ain't saying that that's the pickup day.
Right.
Like your pickup day is tomorrow, sir.
Sir, ma'am.
Sir, ma'am, your pickup days for your recycling then is this.
Tomorrow.
Yeah.
How do you find that out?
the same way.
Okay.
If I sit and ask you about, did you see that fight that was on 48th off center street?
Hold on.
Hold on.
I got, uh, hang on.
I'm gonna find it.
I'm gonna.
Oh, so you could search for the fight that I asked you about on 48th and center.
Right.
Uh, but you don't know how to go to the city of Milwaukee dot gov website and go through the list of what
what you're looking for, how to file a complaint, how to do this, how to find the collection schedule, how to find up when the clean and green, how to find, you don't know how to go do that.
Right.
That part.
And that's the city's fault.
They need to do better.
They did.
They put it on a damn website.
They got all the things on the website.
All the things.
Well, you know, they need somebody need to do something about this officer or that officer.
Do you know that the Fire and Police Commission is there to hear from you?
They want to let you know if you don't know how to file a grievance against law enforcement.
Yeah.
All the information is right there.
They've been highlighted since they've been a sir, ma'am.
They've been highlighting these things for forever.
Some people act like they're hiding this.
They're not.
Not at all.
The same way you found a new app that can do this.
Can you use that same time?
And now with AI, assisting you on whatever search engine you're using.
Yep.
It'll pull up the history of it.
There it is.
And if you're looking for go to MKE rec, pull up the information for all of the things that people are talking about.
We need this, the kids or the teens saying, we need this, we need this.
It's in there.
It's already there.
There are programs that already do all of those things.
But you saying that it ain't nothing to do.
Like, can we?
do our part.
And instead of being made to look like idiots when they end up saying, yes, all you had to do is go to the website.
And if you go here, click here and click there.
And they walk you through every damn thing.
They sure do.
They're self explanatory.
They absolutely are.
But what some of you are not doing and is it is admitting that you can't read?
Oh, unfortunately.
Yeah.
And it happened on the far side of the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Community Center.
So it wasn't at the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior facility.
Right.
But late yesterday evening or early evening, I would say maybe between six and eight, there was a report of a double shooting, but it was on the further side of
the park, not close to the building, but yeah, it was lit up with cherries and berries.
But again, you got people talking about, we need more parts.
Uh, when you asking somebody to use whether we need parts, we need basketball courts, we need this, we need to be able to have some recreational activities while they are out there, uh, MKE wreck.
We'll also end up bringing out a little mobile roller skating rink where you can, you know what I'm saying?
So that's
you feel what I'm
There's
that will
call a meeting and they'll say, this person is going to be on the panel, that person, that person from this office, from that.
And oftentimes the people that could get it done with the swipe of a pen.
But how many of those people that were angry and frustrated really come out to these meetings?
They find everything else to do.
They can make it.
Some of them that are on that, they can make it to dollar night.
They can make it to get to the club.
If while it's free for ladies until 11, they can make it to, you know, get a. Patron and, and, and, and, and
all that, you know,
Yeah,

The only thing we can do.
is, you know, try and reach people, you know, and it takes one person at a time, someone they know, and hold ourselves accountable because, you know, there's some of us that ain't showing up too, you know, so make it a priority.
Make it a priority to go to the, what, you know, if your kids in school, go to the parent-teacher conferences, go to the different meetings that they have, get involved.
People act like they can't get involved.
I mean get involved wherever you are You have to do it though And if other people see you doing it and then you start talking to them a lot of times they'll come along and get involved too I can't tell you how many times that has happened with me whether I was the one to initiate getting involved Or someone else told me about it and I decided I was gonna get involved as well
So I mean, it's it's up to everybody on an individual level And if you can reach one or two more people and get them involved in you know, you started doing what you can Because it has to be a thing You know, it has to be a thing.
It has to be important to you your child's upbringing has to be important to you your the things in your life that
You appreciate, you know, it has to, it has to be important to you.
Like, you know, there's a lot of things like, uh, now there was controversy about the people that showed up for the, the, um, the data center that was supposedly going into midtown.
Don't matter if.
the people were in the neighborhood or not people showed up for that they didn't know the difference and guess what it's not going in you know a lot of people were against that and people came they spoke out they were accounted for now you know it is what it is so now it's not going in
was it a good thing or bad thing except to the people in that area to decide and the rest of us actually because you know we were going to either benefit or not benefit from it but the thing is it was in an area where it could have affected everybody right so you know it's about
Individual accountability and if you make it a thing then people around you can influence other people we talk about online influencers.
What about in-person influencers?
You know if that's what it is involves in an important issue to you You know then they all come out
We all doing this property tax thing and all the things.
If you own property, what about getting some other homeowners involved?
Because if there's going to be another tax levy or something, they going to hit us up first, right?
Okay.
So I mean, just you have to listen to the community, get the Milwaukee courier.
They have lots of information about lots of things that are going on in our community, more things that we could possibly cover in a day.
So it's up to you.
as an individual to activate and get involved in whatever method or way that is.
And once it becomes a thing for you, then a lot of things can change.
We all sit here and talk about what we've heard is the things that have happened.
But are we influencing people in our area?
Are we influencing our neighbors?
Are we even talking to our neighbors?
Because if you could talk to your neighbors and get your block going and y'all have something good on your block, then why not influence other people?
Maybe you could get the person next door to the person that's next door to you.
You know what I mean?
right Do you agree that it's a overabundance of PWK's that are out here that are really making it difficult because they are the ones that Just like Aaron and Sam said I watch eviction court online sometimes and you'd be amazed how good the defendant's hair looks
hair looks and their nails are on fleek.
And in this one, I'm saying, uh, jazz with jazz, we're sick.
Yeah, well, it's been some decades now and we've been talking and they've been just still choosing to go against the grain.
They say that that we need to have our elders come in as an elder, I believe in our community.
The elders are trying to talk to them, but they get disrespected.
And one of the things that nobody wants is to be
disrespected.
So these conversations, unfortunately, they are being had.
So, you know, so it's
I would leave this position.
I would not do my online show.
And again, this is where I'm going.
So my dedication is there.
I haven't stopped even though I'm discouraged.
I'm disappointed in a lot of things that we've given the information to and some people still choose to be hoodwinked and bamboozled when they're told when we tell them where.
Those who are dealing with food deserts where you can go to get food and then instead of you want to still ask other people who are also in that food desert Hey, bring me something black and all you doing is sitting on your ass on the porch or standing in front of a grocery store Or I mean or a corner store or some building Just choosing to sell drugs and then when you get arrested or you get indicted now all of a sudden It's a problem.
They just trying to attack black people what I'm saying is so I continued
My message has not changed.
My message has just improved and added with the new things that we are dealing with and going through.
They see these things.
I can say all of that.
It was at every show.
Okay.
Talked about the garage.
Okay.
And who showed up?
That's where my frustration comes in.
Again, get off your ass, stop sitting on the damn porch, stop having people that don't even live in your community come up to clean up your community.
You could go out there, you sitting out there throwing paper while these people are trying to clean up and they're from everywhere but your community.
I saw
That's what we're doing.
So that's the frustration part, baby.
That's it.
Come on now.
They give out free garbage bags.
They give out you where you get the little pickers, the trash pickers that you can get.
So there's really no excuse to say that I need somebody and Sherwin Hughes reiterated this on one of his shows this week already talking about where you can go out to Menominee Falls or you go out to some of these other counties and you've never heard of a community block cleanup.
You never heard of it.
Because they pick up when they drop some stuff they are concerned But we have to do them and it's usually people coming from other areas to participate in the community block cleanup and the different areas and that's that's sad and that's something that we could absolutely as a people do something about instead of talking about man They don't really want to help us.
Well, let's help ourselves.
Let's stop.
Let's show them that yeah
We're going to we're going to use our vote.
We're going to use our vote and we're going to make sure that we vet some people that we feel are profession enough to become our elected official in whatever capacity it might be.
We're going to be concerned about you talking about the judges that man they just trying to this they trying to lock everybody up.
You them judges run unopposed 90 percent of every election when judges are on the ballot when you go in there if you actually vote and look at that.
No opponent.
No opponent.
No opponent.
No opponent.
No opponent.
No opponent.
But yet you mad when this judge does this or does that.
It's rare when there will be one or two judges that might be running against somebody when it's time for the election.
The rest of that, a lot of people just sit on their ass and do nothing and then talk about why.
They ain't gonna do nothing.
So what do you really think is gonna change if you don't try to change it?
We gotta get ready to take care of some bills.
I'm just saying.
What's your answer?
I'm telling you the same thing I just did.
The same thing that I continue to do.
If I'm not going to continue to do it, then I need to shut my ass up.
So I'm just saying.
Can we start with the A

Troop in the morning.
Of course, Sir Chauncey said,
Before we went to the break all facts you just spit Homer 100 LeRon Taylor said people who don't want to do anything easily find other people who don't want to do anything and will ultimately ridicule anybody in that group who starts doing something so Let's see will deny and say good morning part of the problem is people rather have something that's Temporarily like I said like shoes hairstyles clothes rather than have something permanent like jobs cars or a house
And that's it.
Like I say, we tell the sense of urgency.
We talk about the sense of urgency.
We give solutions and things that can help us not have to be dependent on and that can help to move the needle so we don't have so many people that are doing this.
We talk about the issues that create some of these problems.
out MK does it a lot rar then you know some people because again we know our constraints with with radio to that degree but yeah it's like when you see some people that are just continuing to do the things that are not helping us to remove the stereotype or the stigma but
You don't give up.
You keep going.
So when we say it, I know a lot of people that had great ideas and very motivated and trying to help others stay motivated.
You know, we hear about a lot of young people that are still doing things.
But here we got Don and Victor Barnett still doing running rebels, still, you know, doing their part.
And some people are like, well, we should be over this part by now.
46 years, you know what I'm saying?
But it's like the message has to keep happening and for those who do end up gravitating.
So some people do end up getting to be like, you know what?
Oh, I finally got it.
But I think that's because of the people who have not given up on the mission, who have not given up on saying, well, you know what?
I don't like how this is going, but I'm going to keep giving the.
information on where and how we can make changes.
But guess what?
You got to get on board.
You got to get on board at some point.
Instead of trying to point out what some people are not doing, they don't care if I do this.
Is it they don't care or you don't care?
And that's where that's where we have a lot of these issues.
I don't know if you've seen the fights.
When I said 48th and center, I was for real.
To how like it.
And from the videos, it was like, they've been doing this all week.
Like just 15, 20 people just fight.
more of better
a month Then you should get your own home because you're already paying you already showing that you can pay that right and Not only should you get your own home?
But there's a tax write-off for you at the end of the year for owning your own home.
Okay, so
And the other thing about to think about this, all those evictions, especially if you're someone that has had to move all over the place
and all
or
but
right?
to
part.
You already been paying rent astronomical amounts.
What if you were able to get a home?
You know and you know, you don't have to pay that much.
It's not as expensive with regard to your rent and you can sit there and have more money available to provide for your family.
See
these are all the things it's a little frustrating you got go through some paperwork and do some things You know, yeah, but guess what at the end of the day?
It's yours and can't nobody put you out unless you don't pay your mortgage But that's whole nother issue for another day, but you make it enough money to pay a mortgage and have some money left out think about those
Yes, they do.
And the idea behind it is that, and there are people that can help you rehab your credit.
So that you can get to the point where you can get your own home.
So those are all things to think about and goals and things to have and to plan with.
You know and and get your you know start paying Making sure that you paying your rent when I moved out when I moved out I moved away from home.
My dad told me this sugar pudding.
That's what he called me Give you two pieces of advice I was like, yeah, he said always pay your rent and always pay it on time I Said okay, he said even if you ain't got no lights in your home, you'll still have a roof over your head
So the other thing is make sure you pay your car note So you always have a way to get to work Boom there you go
They do.
Your
They've got that.
They can help you with that.
What you got to get right, all the things that you got to align, where you can find the loans, where you can find the, you know what I'm saying?
They do all of these things, but.
It's got to be more than just 10 to 12 people to show up because more than 10 to 12 people need it.
And that is the that is the thing.
So you got to have you should have a pack house anytime you see some of those events going on.
And the sad reality is with whoever is doing the the seminars that they don't be packed.
Yeah, they you
Yeah, but they should be exactly and the thing is You know the people that show up are the ones that get the benefit That girl Brianna Marie said mortgage is the same price as most rent
still have to pay the rental insurance when you rent.
I pay the same amount from my own home as I did paying $1720 or $1720 in a three bedroom duplex in Bayview.
Now, what you pay and all of that just depends on where you're at, where you buy at, all the things, you know, and what you pay and how much.
You know, your property is worth in all of that.
And you don't have to pay rental insurance.
You have homeowners insurance, which the cost of that depends on where you are, where you buy at the whole deal.
So you have to figure all that out.
But most places, most of the time, you know, I'm paying way less.
Now, I did get my place a long time ago, but still paying way less than people.
I'm listening to these rental fees.
And I was like, whoa.
Yeah.
It can be.
truth in the morning with Homer blow and Bailey Coleman will be right back on the award winning one oh one seven the truth live on YouTube and one oh one seven the truth dot com.
You're listening to Truth in a Morning.
So you've got people that look like you that are saying, hey, we need this, hey, we need that, we need access.
So we do things like, okay, transportation, free transportation provided, lunch served, breakfast served.
You're going to say all of the things and it's like when you're not taking advantage of that and it's because
You're trying to go on live when you do wake up and you're still sitting in bed or something like that.
Listen, I'm tired.
You know, like you could have been at a whole event that is going to help lift you up and find other resources because usually it's not just one.
Yeah, like the pink and blue.
So it's all going down Saturday, November 14th.
10 a.m.
To 1 p.m.
At Thrive on King that's 21 53 North Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in Milwaukee Of course being presented by the truth It's free and open to the public.
You can bring friends family Whatever you like and we're targeting was getting in there on prostate cancer
breast cancer and of course the prostate cancer health equity project is a huge part of this and we want you all to come on out and just get the intel get the information even if prostate cancer breast cancer is not affecting your life right now you just never know what could happen in you know years and to come it needs to be packed people yeah again it's free
And again, this is where this is what I'm saying.
And this goes black to my frustration that I was speaking about earlier and continue to speak about is that when we have these things, this thing was put together, you know, strategically, like, you know what, these are some issues that we can't highlight them enough.
Right.
So we're taking away the barrier.
Yes, for you to be able to come get this information by saying it's free.
Yes.
So it's free.
So as much as I have to see a lot of people in our community, uh, talking about their loved one or themselves dealing with, uh, breast cancer and hearing that, uh, people's father or their brothers or their grandfathers, uh, passed away from prostate cancer.
Like this is why.
It is designed the way that it is.
It's got people that will be speaking that they understand that there's some people, well, you know, with my insurance covered it, you can learn all of the things you need to learn.
Yeah.
But you have to help us to help you by showing up.
Yep.
If you don't show up and then you want to now get on social media talking about, yeah, uh, yeah, they said, uh,
I got prosecuted because I went in for something else and they done some tests on me.
You know what I'm saying?
But you didn't go to get that.
To learn how important it is, to learn all of the numbers from people who know.
These are real facts.
And that's why I say maybe it's that, that frustration because I know so many organizations.
I know so many groups.
I know so many companies that put together.
these type of things and the amount of people, again, it should be packed so well.
And I will say that this Pink and Blue Health Summit will end up doing what needs to be done and will have a full house of people who understand the importance of getting this information and it not costing you anything.
But guess what?
That's not all.
You get to ask questions as well.
Yes.
Like how we say, you know, Hey, have you got questions?
Uh, we got a guest coming in or, or while the guest is here, we say, Hey, call in with your questions or send us a text or hit us up on the UT YouTube or the Facebook live chat and let us know what they are so we can be like, Oh yeah.
Yeah, we do need to try to ask that when we didn't ask that question.
We didn't ask this or we didn't talk about this.
Because it's your turn is your your voice needs to be heard not only just me and Bailey Not only just our other teammates here on the award winning one-on-one seven-truth FM that we need to hear from you We can't say people are mad.
They frustrated.
Okay.
Well, where the hell they at?
Yeah, but but do I stop doing it?
You know, what is it?
Do I stop saying what I believe the solutions are going to be or need to be?
No, I keep doing it.
Yeah, I'm here.
I'm here daily.
Yes, 35 years and counting.
There you go.
Because it's that important.
And I don't let it frustrate me that even after all of this time, some of the issues that we still have it, you can listen to a lot of the late Godfather, so James Brown music and you can listen to.
Marvin Gaye's music and say, damn, this stuff is still happening.
And it's crazy because you're talking about early seventies, you know what I'm saying?
Mid, late seventies.
And you can listen to these songs and they sound like they were made today.
Right.
Because some of the issues are still
Let me let me hit you up with this pink and blue summit information again.
