Truth in The Morning · Fri Jul 10, 2026

Great morning, Truth Nation.

Welcome to Truth in the Morning on the award-winning 1017 FM The Truth.

We're broadcasting live from the American Family Insurance Studio in the heart of downtown at the Avenue.

I am the legendary Homer Blow along with my girl.

Bailey Coleman.

How you doing and feeling this morning?

I'm great this morning.

How are you?

I'm great.

I'm great.

I'm great.

Minus cherries, you

know?

My bad.

Yeah.

You know, listen, I got you the orange.

I mean,

the season.

Yeah, I know.

But we're

trying to work through

the rest of the oranges.

Yeah, you did say that.

And we'll we'll get there.

Just a little.

They were good, though, weren't they?

But yes, the cherries were absolutely amazing.

There we go.

That's how we do.

You know what I'm saying?

In season and on time.

Yeah.

I mean, the oranges are kind of out of season now, but

we're

working our way through that.

Yeah,

we got one bag left.

Not not even hold back.

Yeah, I used to arrest it on 57 people now.

Oh, here.

Oh, they get their numbers up in Milwaukee, huh?

57.

Yeah.

Wow.

Whoo.

It's

a

lot.

You know, um, well, they're required to get 2000 a day.

Really?

That's a mandate.

But of course.

Yeah, I'm sure.

Yeah.

So they're getting their way up here in Milwaukee.

Well, yeah, they got to do it nationwide.

Yeah, thousand nationwide the rest of the day.

Yeah.

And if they don't make the quota, what happens?

I don't know.

They get yelled at.

I know they just killed that guy in Mexico and Houston, Texas.

Yeah, Texas.

Mm

hmm.

Yeah.

Crazy.

Now they're trying to do it quietly, though.

You notice that

before

it

was

all in the news.

Now they just trying to do quietly so they could, you know,

yeah, I don't know.

I just saw a little video in J.S.O.

Line.

Or yeah, J.S.

online.

They did a little port on like some of the footage that they have.

And a lot of the agents are like pulling guns on people and stuff like that.

And they're not even like people aren't even resisting.

They're coming out guns blaze like they're like coming after like cartel members or something.

Wow.

Wow.

Well, you know what as and the views and opinions expressed on this show are those of the legendary home blow.

and does not reflect that of Milwaukee black media or civic media.

Hi Xavier.

Good morning to our producer.

That was Xavier talking.

Yeah.

They voted for

him.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know what I'm saying?

I mean, you can only feel so bad for so long.

They

were they were waving.

MAGA hats and flags and all of that.

Yeah.

Some of them don't even like us as black people.

Yeah.

No,

no, they love us now.

Yeah,

now we're family now.

I don't know

about that.

What?

You don't know we're family or what?

What do you

mean?

You don't know the love of the Hispanic community towards the blacks.

Oh, OK.

Oh, no, they're just as racist as they ever been.

Oh, OK, well,

you've probably even more so racist.

Some, some, some, yeah.

large majority.

Okay.

Yeah.

Because I'd never like to see

a lot.

Oh, I'll probably say 60%.

Really?

Well, again, the views and opinions expressed by savior.

I'm about

to start looking at people

differently.

A stab at media.

I have a walkie black media.

And civic media, man.

Exactly, man.

You got some extreme views, my brother.

No, I don't.

I mean, I got another extreme.

I mean, it's not even extreme views.

Again, I've already said it, so it covers the whole damn show.

So I invented disclaimers.

I'm just trying to tell you.

And listen, I remember when Sherwin asked me, like, bro, can you send me the disclaimer that you've always had on blowradio.com and WNOP.

And I'm like, yes, sir.

And he began to use it.

So yeah, just want to let you know.

But no.

And but that's why I took

Xavier's views are different.

Yeah.

Yeah.

He's

so.

I mean,

yeah.

I mean, isn't it interesting that we're at the beginning stages of World War three and no one's talking about it?

See,

I

mean, that's a fact.

Okay.

Okay.

All right.

Well, Xavier's view.

What's your lingo?

Views and

opinions

expressed by our producer.

I'm

not saying you're not

right about the war thing, but does not reflect that.

Oh.

Milwaukee Black Media or Civic Media, but are the soul of the comments and responsibility of our producer, Xavier.

Yes, there

we go.

So

it covers the whole show.

OK.

So when you say your views, you're covered by our disclaimer.

So the fines will come to you if there's anything.

Well, there's no fines here.

Oh, I got another

prediction for

you.

We got the list of the

SEC rules by regulation.

No curses going on.

We live and die by it anyway.

Yeah.

But

you said what now Xavier?

Oh, my latest prediction is by next summer, China will invade Taiwan.

OK.

Well, I mean, that's going to impact us here.

We'll see.

OK, well,

you

know.

You know, after jazz, Tyler goes, you should ask them if they would give you a 30 minute slot of Xavier's Viewpoints.

I don't know.

I just so from 7 to 7 30.

The producer room.

Because they got Q and not right.

We

could do X and on.

Well, this is an X and on.

This is actually a fact.

And Q and I was actually started by Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon.

Well,

there you

go.

I mean, it's all in the files.

There it is.

You

know what?

This is what I say.

You know, my favorite thing with Q and I was the whole JFK thing.

JFK Junior, he was going to come to Dallas and walk down.

You remember that?

Mm-hmm.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool.

Yeah.

I was like, wow.

Y'all let me know when that happens.

I want to see it.

Mm-hmm.

People still

believe that.

Yeah, I know, right?

Yeah.

They say pay black as a dog.

They

believe in med beds.

Have you heard of that?

No, what's a med bed?

Oh, a med bed is an imaginary thing that these people made up in their heads that they're ultra-rich have that you can lay on the bed and it heals all of your ailments.

I believe they believe that.

You know, there are some black QAnoners.

Oh, yeah.

I mean, I met a lot of people.

I've met a lot of black Trumpers when I was.

Yeah, I mean, but QAnon

and

Trump in that.

I mean, it is in the same bag, but everybody that's a QAnon person isn't necessarily.

No, that's hand in hand because QAnon, their ultimate belief is that Trump is here to take down the deep state and take down all the, you know.

Pitos okay, and all that stuff like that.

So that's that's the ultimate grand conspiracy of QAnon So Trump is the savior in the end.

Okay, but if they're Trump or doesn't necessarily mean that they're a QAnon.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

No There's some trumpers that are in QAnon.

Oh, no.

No, I said I'm agreeing with you.

Yes.

Oh, okay.

Okay

See

This is what I need my

Real Gabby

and other great news.

Right.

Guess what?

Real Gabby.

There's been

an airport that has been named.

After the Orange

Red.

After the Orange Red,

y'all.

Signed it.

Yeah.

Isn't that exciting?

Hell no.

It's the airport right by Mar-a-Lago.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

An airport that are not happy about it.

Well, I saw that.

They said it's disgusting and other things.

Me quoting and not me necessarily agreeing with it.

I get it though.

Isn't that exciting?

I feel like he's accomplished a lot of things.

$2.2 billion in one year.

Yeah.

That's pretty good.

Yeah.

Yeah.

A lot of... For himself?

Oh yes, $2.2 billion for himself.

You see he couldn't fly his plane back, right?

He couldn't fly his plane.

Oh yeah.

His gifted plane from Qatar.

Yeah The 200 I think it's 240 million dollar plane that he's gifted.

Yeah.

Oh, that's pretty I mean, and it's not gonna go to the US.

It'll be Going to his library when he's yeah,

he said that they were sending the plane to the troops so they could check it out

Yeah,

yeah, so he's just gonna take the regular old Air Force one back Here to the states

he's afraid because

A lot of people are openly saying that he's a target.

Oh, yeah.

He himself said he was the number one target in the world.

Yeah.

And that's really why he didn't want to fly that plane.

Did

you not see the funeral over this past weekend in Iran?

No.

Oh, well, they're I mean, they're obviously upset at Trump for killing their grand leader.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, they're chanting revenge to Trump.

Yeah.

I don't blame them.

Yeah.

There you go.

But as I go black to my beginning

statement.

To those who supported the Orange Man and our Latino brothers and sisters.

Welcome to Fafo.

Oh, it's Fafo.

Yeah.

Oh, they found

out.

Wow.

They

messed around and found out.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yep.

And now.

All of that.

We were, you know, for the Orange Man, you know, all in the dancing and on stage and doing their mariachi and all of that.

And yeah, like, yeah.

Oh, my.

Yeah.

Now I will

vote for Donald Trump.

Can

you find that?

Yeah.

That lady,

you know, she was that she was that deportation.

Yeah.

They had her husband

and her.

Oh, she got caught.

Yeah, she was there crying.

I was like, yeah.

Wait a minute.

Wait a minute.

Wait a minute.

Wait

a minute.

Wait a minute.

Hold on.

How they put

Sean,

how they put her out when she voted?

Listen, they didn't care.

They don't care.

What he won.

He doesn't need you and he shows you.

Well, but she.

She couldn't.

And now let's give her a DEI.

She couldn't legally vote.

You understand what I'm saying?

So

if

he could put her out the country, then she wasn't legally voting.

Listen, you remember, like he's going after everybody.

He doesn't give a damn.

Because it's more like how long you've been here.

You know,

if

you for those

of you, if you are a native, how long you how long you and your people been here?

He's trying to go after birthright citizens.

So, you know what I'm saying?

So, he don't give a damn.

He like, 100

years.

Take me to my Supreme Court.

Exactly.

There you go.

Oh.

Take me to my Supreme Court.

Yeah.

They

left him hanging.

With emphasis on my.

They don't left him hanging a few times here too.

Yeah, but he's getting some victories that some people ain't paying attention to.

That's true.

You know what I'm saying?

That's

true.

He just had one where, you know, he can.

OK, like over FCC.

Yeah,

he could end up firing whoever.

Yeah.

So therefore, in my opinion, it means he puts in somebody that will cancel Jimmy Kimmel.

It'll

cancel.

You know what I'm saying?

Yeah, he can radio stations, everything.

Yeah.

If you are what he dings fake news.

Yeah.

He can go after you and have the person that has the power.

Yeah.

to find you to revoke your certification and all of that kind of stuff.

He's the person in charge of that now.

Yeah.

Well, he was before anyway, because he appointed the person to run

it.

Yeah, but he didn't have the Supreme Court just awarded him the power

to.

Yes.

Yeah.

A lot of different categories.

Fire people that are running some of the different.

Yep.

Yeah.

Some of the different agencies being right there at the top.

Yeah.

That's true.

So, yeah,

he fired the person that he put in position

to run the FCC and we'll keep doing it.

We've seen him fire a lot of people.

And when that person go against what happens is

the FCC licenses different media companies here in the United States.

Yep.

So it's the federal communications.

Commission.

Yep.

So unless you are a subscribe type, uh, station or TV, that's why serious XM can do what they do.

They're not under the FCC

guidelines.

Mm hmm.

Mm hmm.

But I'll be listening.

Yeah, you do.

Yes, they're not up under the same

terrestrial radio stations and television stations.

When we

say

terrestrial, they're non, you know, cable, non cable, non subscription.

Yes.

So, there you go.

There it is.

You learn something new every day.

We just did you a little quick education, education.

Man, man, be calling you the orange man.

Really?

Okay.

All right.

All right, let's get him.

Oh, yeah, you're good.

You're good because they're so easy to go.

They got time for you.

Right.

They got other things to do.

There it is.

So we got to take care of some bills.

I was speaking before we went to our break talking about the fact that I was able to talk to some teens that are part of the Earn and Learn program at Westcare, Wisconsin.

And we done a...

a session with me speaking about radio, music, podcasts, the difference between a podcast and an actual show that may be live and taking some of their questions and being able to give them a better understanding, even how we do with music as far as the call out research that used to happen all the time in radio.

How long do you think it takes us to listen to some of this music?

If it doesn't hit you and they fight it seconds.

Mm-hmm.

It could be a wrap.

Okay.

They could be a wrap.

Yeah, you know some might give you 15 20 seconds, but yeah outside of that if it ain't moving it's shaking You know better luck you don't mean it ain't gonna come back bubble up, but yeah, if it didn't have us feeling it Yeah, you probably ain't gonna happen so to those

earn and learn teams and participants from Westcare, Wisconsin.

Great morning to Travis Landry and everybody over at Westcare, Wisconsin.

335 West Wright Street here in Milwaukee.

Andre Walton and Anita Walton.

Great morning.

So I kind of went over all of that.

Okay.

And they were very attentive.

And I appreciate that.

I appreciate that.

So shout out to the earn and learn, uh, participants from West care, Wisconsin that were a part of my session yesterday from 11 a.m.

to noon.

There you go.

So, uh, Haley, you know that we talked about the fact that Milwaukee County executive David Crowley had pulled out of the race.

Right.

And

we were saying like, I wonder who he going to endorse.

And, you know, I don't know, it may be a minute.

Yeah.

He wouldn't.

No.

It wasn't a minute at all.

We have a clip that we're going to play, but yeah, he made his mind up.

And now we want to find out, you know, what's your thought on the person that he is endorsing now?

What my thought is

no, we're gonna play the clip and we let him know who was it?

Of course, you know Xavier was like, yeah, he know it's gonna be you know, so but we're gonna play this clip and find out what true nation thinks

Big development in the race for governor.

We now have the biggest endorsement yet in the crowded field of Democrats.

One day after suspending his campaign, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley announces he's backing Lieutenant Governor Sarah Rodriguez.

A.J.

Biapur was at the downtown announcement and asked Crowley why he's taking a side in what's still a packed primary.

We are going to win this in August and

then in November.

To help Sarah Rodriguez win next month, David Crowley endorses the sitting lieutenant governor less than 24 hours after he drops out of the race for governor himself.

Sarah has the ability to build the coalition Democrats need in order to win our race and to win our state assembly and state senate.

We need that trifecta.

Why do you think that is and why don't you think any of the other candidates have just as good of a shot at winning both the governor's office and the legislature?

So I know what it takes to actually build a coalition.

I'm not going to speak to the other candidates, but I've seen the lieutenant governor put in the work needed to build the necessary relationships, but also to have the tough conversations.

With Crowley's departure, there are now five Democrats left in the race.

The front-runners, based on the most recent polling, are Rodriguez, state representative Francesca Hong, and former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes.

State Senator Kelder Royce and former Evers Cabinet official Joel Brennan are also still campaigning.

Both Crowley and Missy Hughes have now endorsed Rodriguez shortly after suspending their campaigns.

Some call it practical politics.

Others say it's protecting the status quo.

What would your message be to any voter who says this is an example of establishment party politics, that this is all being done to stop the momentum of a more progressive candidate who has built a following in Francesca

Hong?

So I want to be very clear that there was no establishment process.

This is me making a decision in this race to support Sarah Rodriguez because I believe that she is the best candidate.

What I would ask people is to look at my website, look at what I've done.

for the people of Wisconsin.

And look at what I'm planning to do for the people of Wisconsin.

And I think you will see that the things that I am proposing are things that Wisconsinites want.

All

right.

Best snapshot

we'll get

of

this

democratic.

All right.

So you've heard that clip.

We got to get ready to take care of some bills.

And we want to end up hearing from you, Troop Nation.

What's your thoughts on that?

Do you agree?

Do you understand why he made the choice he did as he broke it down?

And also don't forget coming up at eight AM central standard time today is the day for what the business is.

So what the business is comes to you every Friday morning, eight AM central standard time where you get the call in and tell us about your local black owned business or business.

black owned that you support how you got there what it's been like you know so you can help influence and encourage other people that may be starting out or thinking about starting their own business so again 8am central standard time what the business is only here on the truth 1017 fm we got to take

energies

That's my energy.

And shout out to we energies because my air conditioner has been rolling.

Yes, letting you know.

Absolutely.

And then they say next week is going to need to keep on rolling.

Yeah, because we're going to be in 90, 90, 90, 90.

We don't keep rolling.

We energy again, powering the businesses, the local businesses here in Milwaukee will be black.

That's C-I-E-R-R-A dot brown.

at MilwaukeeBlackMedia.com proudly sponsored by Educators Credit Union, American Family Insurance, Milwaukee Public Schools, and Ascension.

Welcome, Black Troop Nation.

We're talking about the fact that Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley has made his endorsement choice.

And it is our current Lieutenant Governor, Sarah Rodriguez.

So what's your truth?

Bailey, what's your thoughts on that?

Is that a good decision in your opinion?

It's a stable decision.

You may, you know, know more of what she does in her thoughts because and she's more up to date with the things that are going on now because she just served this term, this long term.

as lieutenant governor.

I don't know.

The only other person I know that's in the race right now is Mandela Barnes.

And he could have been positioned to be in her position right now had he run again with governor, but that's another situation for another day.

And so there you have it and you have

Jessica Hong, which is like, you know, supposedly this, you know, oh, I'm sorry, Francesca.

I

don't know a lot about her.

My little research, my research on which everybody should do their research absolutely on all the candidates involved, you know, or the ones that, you know, you're concerned about.

You could you know be in the seat and We'll see how it goes from there.

I I don't say it's a good or bad I say it's a it's a comfortable decision and that's who he's comfortable with because he knows he probably knows you know more about the other candidates that are involved and you know and That's cool.

So I think everybody needs to do their research and vote for the person the candidate that

they feel could handle the situation.

833-212-1017 is our true text lines.

So you can end up letting us know your thoughts on this.

And right choice.

You know, I mean, it's the right choice for him.

But you know a lot of people will say you know, they may have their own

why can't you throw up behind the other brother in the race?

That's what they say

I have not hitched my wagon to any particular other than I was I was behind Dave Crowley.

I was down with that.

But now that he stepped out of the race and he's made his decision on who he's gonna vote for, I still gotta do my research to see what I'm seeing.

You know what I mean?

Because I heard things about what's her name?

Jessica Hong?

Francesca.

Francesca Hong.

I'm bad at these.

Mrs. Hong.

I've heard things.

I don't know if those things are true.

But I had to do my own research.

What are those things that you hear?

Just yesterday, I think it was Al said, I'm not.

Al's on the line.

I

think Al said something about her dad liking black children.

Yeah.

So I don't know what that means.

Well, let's find out again.

I

don't know.

I mean, I don't know if it was Al.

I can't remember, but somebody said that on the Chute Talk Tech

sign.

8332.

I don't

know.

I gotta do my research about her because she don't like black kids.

Then she not go like black adults.

She can't.

It's a it's a thing.

Your spray.

I'm just saying

I'm just saying.

Hang on.

Xavier.

Let's go to the True Talk test lines.

Try to find out.

8332.

Let me know.

212 1017.

Al.

Great morning.

Love you.

Appreciate you.

You hear the conversation.

What's your truth as it relates to David Crowley County exec?

choosing to endorse Lieutenant Sarah Rodriguez.

I'm gonna

I'm gonna do so I'm gonna do some more research because I don't know who this Sarah PlayStation is.

Francesca Hanson I get in my boat because she want to take away school of choice and vows just talking about she want to concentrate on public school system.

You already know what how to public school system is so if you take away school of choice

That means the kids will be stuck in public school.

So you take that away.

So the white folks who pay for it to which you don't have to worry about the black children because you know, if you give black children a little education, they go outperform her and I don't care what I don't care what table she waited.

She didn't wave my tape because I didn't give enough tip anyway.

And I ain't going for you, my dollar bars either.

Cause man, my dollar bars only jumping in there cause he can't take the answer.

No, he can't take rejection.

He don't even go for black people.

Every time he went for black people, when he broke his mama on TV and said she had abortion, which was into which was nobody business any damn way.

So I think he need to go somewhere and find something to do.

And she checks the hunt.

I think you're further rich.

You don't even know about Black issues.

And when you came on the truth, you barely wanted to answer the question.

I know how to be a loser.

You answered the question, but you answer around the question.

You got nobody fooled.

And before I vote for either of them two, I would take that vote and wipe my ass with it.

How about that?

All right.

All right.

Take it how you lead

it.

Hey, thank you.

Again, yeah.

All

right.

True talk text lines are open.

Three two one two ten seventeen Ray said David Crowley should have never been in the race in the first place and the other candidates move and get out the way and let Mandela Barnes go all the way.

We should have.

He continues, we should have had Mandela Barnes as our senator, but instead, we complained about receipts and we did not back the brother.

Sounds like a smart guy.

I don't.

I don't.

Those are raised thoughts.

Thanks,

Ray.

Thanks, Ray.

We appreciate you.

Eight three three two one two ten seven ten.

Yeah, so again What?

I Don't know if she liked you, but she appreciates your vote.

Yeah We never hung out

Okay, see you know what?

You I'm talking about lieutenant governor Sarah Rodriguez I

met

her one time

Okay, I met her one time.

Yeah.

Yeah, I actually I thought I had to think about it.

I didn't just meet her one time recently.

Yeah Well probably about six to eight months ago when I was doing an event.

Yeah

A

person, as you know, that you're not gonna go for him when you keep saying hey name wrong.

What?

When you say Jessica.

Have

you ever hung out with her?

Listen, your boy, I mean, your guy, your guy ex said we doing the what's her name?

Kamala Harrison.

Do I remember Harris?

You're doing the Kamala thing.

You know, we do

it.

We do a Kamala thing.

Were you?

Oh, that's a microaggression against Kamala when it was happening to her.

Then now you're doing it.

No, very

damn like.

First of all, Xavier, you a damn lie.

Stay on that side right now because you're a damn lie.

I've been talking about that since the election.

I've never done that.

So, you know,

he's talking about me.

Well, no, he said, y'all.

Oh, OK.

When he says, y'all, you know, you know, so now he's pointing like, oh, I met her.

Yeah, he met me.

But y'all is a reflection of both of us here in this damn studio.

And see if I when I get my my a grown gavel

when you get your grown gavel.

Yeah, we're going to have some we're going to have some conversations.

We got to get ready.

Take care of some bills.

You're listening to truth in the morning on the award when he won a one seven in the truth.

Let's say we got to take care of some bills.

Don't forget coming up at a central standard time is what the business is.

Power.

He's

just mad because

we that's who

he voted for.

It is good.

We're delivering the energy that powers local businesses.

Yeah,

we'll

be black.

Truth in the morning.

on the award-winning one-on-one seven FM the truth inside the American Family Insurance studio on the heart of downtown at the Avenue and our true talk text lines are wide open.

Yeah.

So right

now

we've got the town, the town.

Great morning.

Love you.

Appreciate you.

Happy Friday.

You hear the conversation.

What's your truth?

I'm blessed.

I'm blessed.

How are you doing and feeling?

I'm good.

I'm good.

What up Bailey?

How you doing?

I'm all right.

I'm all right.

I'm all right.

I'm all right.

Okay, this one I'm this one I'm gonna say about that now I Ain't gonna I ain't even go jack on

the

on the non-political level on just on the on the brother thing Why wouldn't you why why wouldn't you support the other brother?

Hold on now if Hold on if Milwaukee is where all the black people at

You know what I'm saying?

And a person from Milwaukee, you know what I'm saying?

Comes out and be like, I don't want to do this no more.

I'm out the race, you know what I'm saying?

And then another brother come out there, and you know only brothers is in with, and this point, why wouldn't you back him?

If only, it can be only if, one, that...

And I'm not saying this true.

I'm just saying the possibilities number one that other brother ain't another brother if you get my drift or You you got to move already planned already on some survivor type stuff, you know, I'm saying like I'm saying like because okay It's less than 24 hours before before bro bro got off the race

And then less than 24 hours, he went straight to the lieutenant governor.

He backed the lieutenant governor, Sara Rodriguez, which we know, which we, which we know that nobody knows about because nobody, nobody never knows about the lieutenant governor in his state.

Yeah.

You know what I'm saying?

So, so, so, so what we know is that you got.

the town to town.

We need you.

We got some other callers that are on here as well.

But so we want you to kind of put it up.

You know what I'm saying?

We don't have.

Yeah.

Okay.

Okay.

I just want to say.

Okay.

You can see it's a plan in place.

Yeah.

It's a plan in place.

It's premeditated from Crowley to do that.

You know what I'm saying?

Okay.

Because it's so fast.

Okay.

All right, but thank you for your truth.

We got Michael on the True Talk text lines.

Great morning.

Love you.

Appreciate you.

You hear the conversation about David Crowley dropping out and quickly endorsing Lieutenant Governor Rodriguez, Sara Rodriguez.

What's your truth?

I didn't feel pretty bad

about it.

I think he dropped it out.

I think he should have stayed in there.

He worked it out.

Yeah.

He worked things out.

But I just want to say that for you, Bailey, I love to hear your voice on the radio.

Well, thank you.

And it's been very good.

And you and Homer have been doing some very good stuff on the radio.

And my friend Blake's doing very well.

And I just want you guys to know that I support you very much with my prayers for you guys and everything.

And everything.

Oh, thank

you.

We appreciate

you.

We appreciate all prayers.

Absolutely.

Uh, true to our text lines.

Millison.

Uh, great morning.

Love you.

Appreciate you.

You hear the conversation.

What is your truth?

Good morning.

Good morning.

I

forgot about this one statement.

All skin folk and kinfolk.

That's

true.

I knew it.

That's true.

I'm with that.

I understand

that.

Yeah.

So.

I don't think him endorsing Rodriguez is a slight on anybody.

I think people need to go back, look at Mandela's record, look at what Mandela has done negatively to the black community.

Just because he's running and he's black doesn't mean we have to support him or any other.

person of color should support him.

Mandela doesn't have that good of a track record when it comes to our community.

Mandela started the Black Divide.

Remember, Mandela went against what's the lady that's the...

And now Judge Lena Taylor?

Yeah.

Lena Taylor.

He started the Divide.

You can't start the Divide and then be mad when the Divide hurts you.

You just can't do that.

He started it.

He started it when he was a younger man.

People told him then, don't do that.

You're messing up everything.

He didn't listen.

He thought he was going to be able to jumpstart and do what he wanted to.

Crowley did the right thing.

He saw no way to win.

He gave us somebody that we need to look at.

He's not saying go vote for her.

He's saying you need to look at

her.

And that's what it is.

You still have to do your due diligence to find out who you're going to vote for.

There you go.

That's

it.

Yeah, that's just it.

And we have to do that.

Y'all have a good weekend.

Homer, I got something for you.

I'm going to drop it off tomorrow.

I mean, Monday.

OK.

All right.

All right.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank

you.

You got anything on the true text lines?

833-212-1017.

We're talking about the fact that.

Uh, Milwaukee County executive David Crowley announced on yesterday that he was, uh, dropping out of the gubernatorial race and has since endorsed Lieutenant Governor Sarah Rodriguez.

And, uh, what's your thoughts on that?

You know, you support it.

Don't support it.

We want to hear your truth.

Just like the caller had a different opinion.

Like, wait, why, we should get behind, we should get behind, but it's, you know, difference of opinions and, and we want to hear it.

We want to hear it.

Because in the end, we still need to vote.

We still need to vote.

And that's just the truth.

So hashtag that part.

Yes.

Yeah.

We got another one from Ali said Mandela Barnes did not even involve black people until he found out that the whites was not feeling him.

So yeah,

what's your thoughts?

I feel like everybody is just like Millicent said Everybody has to take their time Mm-hmm and figure out who's gonna work for them if it's Mandela Barnes more power to you if it's mr.. Rodriguez more power if it's miss Hong

That was smart to just do that because you can't miss that one

No,

exactly.

I don't know if she's married or not.

So miss, misses, whatever.

Hong.

They're more power to you.

Yeah.

Real time.

So whatever works for you, you have to find out who you feel values you and your beliefs and what you want to do in the future.

You would like to see for you and your family here in the state of Wisconsin.

Yep.

Uh, also, you know, when we get inside of the eight o'clock hour, you know, we're going to kick it off with what the business is, uh, powered by we energy.

Was

that good Xavier?

But

you're saying Hong.

Yes, that is her last name.

The correct.

I mean, you can, uh, you can say it any way you want.

If you were mispronouncing David Crawley name, I would tell you the correct way to say as well.

That was, that was, that was correct.

Mrs. Hong.

Yes, it

was very good.

All right.

Harry on Homer.

All right.

So again, coming up at eight o'clock.

So if you have a black owned business or you know, a black owned business that you support or you have an event that's coming up, then, you know, we want to make sure that we hear from you and we give you this opportunity.

Exactly.

Thanks to we energies, you know, we energies definitely powering and delivering the energy that supports and powers local businesses.

We've been doing this for a minute.

Yeah.

And so we, we think we energies for giving this opportunity because it would normally cost you.

Yeah.

Yeah.

There it is.

It normally costs

you.

Yeah, it would.

But have all your information ready.

Like, you know, the name of your business.

If you got a phone number, people can call it.

If there's a website.

Have all of that information ready to deliver.

So phone

number.

Yeah.

More information.

Absolutely.

I always

like to say the who, what, when, where and phone number for more information.

If you have an event coming up, you know, you can do the same thing.

Yep.

Got community events.

What's happening?

Let us know.

Let us know.

We want to hear

from

you.

Can

y'all in that car?

Yeah.

So

also, and when once we take care of that business, we're going to talk about the two MPD officers with the flat cameras and what Chief Norman says about the program, even after those two officers.

Yeah, and it's what he says.

Yeah.

And then the man charged on Water Street.

I really can't wait to talk about that.

And then we're going to talk about Nolan, you know, the black man that was missing and then they ended up finding him deceased.

Right.

So we're going to talk about that.

All in the eight o'clock hour, you're listening to Truth in the Morning on the award-winning 1017 FM The Truth.

Tiffany, can you tell us a little bit about your journey in starting your business or your businesses and some advice for some maybe up and coming people that are just getting their feet wet or they're thinking about starting their own business?

Yes, so a little bit about my journey.

I wanted to purchase a home and my credit was bad and I just kept hearing no, no, no, no, no.

But no one told me, but if you do this, then yes.

So I became the if you do this, then yes.

So the credit journey also pushed me into the real estate realm where I not only fixed your credit, but I now can take you to go purchase a home.

I now can take you to flip a home.

All right, so we're going to try to compile a few things in here.

OK.

The MPD officers that are two of them that have been charged now.

Not three.

Three of them.

Two.

Two.

And one was in charge of investigating.

the other officer who was misusing.

How

are you

going to be the one investigating?

And you need to be investigated.

Right.

So it's like

that's an immediate.

I probably should recuse myself.

Right.

Right.

Right.

Right.

Because we was all over there.

So I don't know if you're going to get rid of the whole department,

but.

And.

So, uh,

you know, they was, you know, what happened,

right?

We're going to play the

clip.

What happened?

No,

what

happened?

What

happened was, what happened was they had this whole new situation where the equipment was new and they was like, y'all all need to come over here and look at, try it.

See what it's about.

Right.

Just look at it.

And they said, okay.

And they all went over there.

Well, they told us to take a look.

So, you know, let's see.

Who should I look up?

You know what?

I'm going to look up so and

so.

That's probably exactly.

Order in

the

studio.

I'm just

saying.

This time tracking somebody.

Listen.

Well, since we're here, let me look and see what my granny been up to.

Oh, she

out here.

She out here in these streets.

What happened?

Okay, we got

happen so they needed like Dead the whole thing they needed is dead.

So do you think that they should because this clip is some people are saying like get rid of the flock system.

They shouldn't use it.

What's your thoughts?

We're gonna hear what the chief say.

I think that unless there's been like serious abuse of

it, you know what I mean?

Like they tracking people down that they that are

that former loved ones or something like that.

People that don't have no crime situation.

You know, they track that it should only be used for crime

scenarios.

That's it.

That's what it's meant

for.

Well, to them, they they feeling like Shade

is in that crime.

that I still want you.

Okay, let's go to the clip.

I

know they knew that from the beginning, so I don't know.

I just, I feel like it's just,

I feel

like we could probably lose the whole police department.

Yeah, you're crazy.

That's wrong.

Let's see what Chief Norman, how he feels about it and like, should the community be saying, yeah, see, that's why we don't want that.

Xavier, if you could play that clip, please.

Tonight, we sit down with Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman after a second officer in the department was charged with misusing flock cameras.

The first officer, Hostway Ayala, pleaded guilty in June, and now Detective Taranji Chapman, who investigated Ayala, is also charged for misusing the same system.

Andy Bernhardt joins us now, and Andy, with privacy and safety concerns growing here, what did the chief have to say?

Well,

Natalie, Chief Norman tells me he stands by the use of those cameras.

Flock uses artificial intelligence to take pictures of license plates and alert law enforcement on its whereabouts.

However, the ACLU is among those demanding more restrictions to protect residents.

I can never sit here and tell you that someone would not cross that line.

Detective Taranji Chapman is now the second Milwaukee police officer charged with misusing the Flock system.

First feeling is disappointment.

knowing the type of scrutiny and expectation from our public.

Also, the particular position this particular individual had.

Chapman, who is on suspension, was one of the detectives investigating Josue Ayala, who pled guilty to abusing the flock camera system in June.

This is a situation where I guess it worked out where the individual who was being investigated, the investigator.

you know, unfortunate was involved in the same unfortunate behavior.

John McCrae Jones with the ACLU of Wisconsin says cases like these are happening across the country, causing concerns over the use of these surveillance systems by law enforcement.

The issue isn't just about one officer anymore.

It's about whether the systems that are supposed to detect and prevent abuse are actually working.

Chief Norman says the two incidents happened within the same time frame and now there is a more robust internal audit of the system.

The department also decreased who has access.

Do you think the pros of the flock system sort of outweigh these cons?

Absolutely.

Chief Norman says the system allows police to track down suspects quicker, which can be critical in investigations.

What is your message for residents who are maybe concerned about their privacy with the flock cameras moving forward?

That we take it very serious.

that we understand that this is a huge responsibility, that we need to make sure that we are being transparent and that we own when we make those mistakes.

Moving forward to protect people's privacy and safety, Jones says additional restrictions and regulations on access should be put in place.

I think that the best thing we can do for community safety and for officer safety.

It's to not put that responsibility on officers to have to make that right choice every single day to not abuse these technologies against innocent people and more.

Create statewide guard rails or at least local guard rails.

Right now, MPD has more than 30 flock cameras.

I asked the chief if the department would consider adding more moving forward and he says it's not off the table, but right now they're working with what

they have.

Natalie.

Well, the case is certainly do raise some questions.

Andy Bernhardt live in the studio with us tonight.

Andy, thank

you very much.

We got to get ready to take care of some bills.

We wanted you to hear that.

So when we come back and talk about it a little bit more and then try to crunch in some more situations.

I am the legendary

Homer

blow along with my girl

Bailey Coleman.

You can reach us at our social media handles.

Yeah, Homer blow.

You see it

at Bailey Coleman

at part.

If you're on Instagram, I am Bailey Coleman.

There you go.

Type of my name.

I'll come

up.

There it is.

Um, but we're talking about the fly.

Somebody made it nice.

Clever comment on the true text lines.

They said, what the fuck?

Right.

Do you do you give up on the system because of these two known infractions?

No, no,

because we need something to get your cut in here.

Yep.

Yep.

You

know,

we we need that.

So,

you know, it's just, you know, I mean, I think I feel like unless the officer like the first officer that was caught up with this.

I

Allah allegedly, I believe he was harassing his former significant.

That's why I think it's being alleged.

Now, if you go that far, then you do it too

much.

Now you got charged and took a plea.

Yeah.

So I mean, you know,

he did

it.

He did that.

Oh, that.

That was a lot.

Right.

But if there were, you know, it's kind of like hopping on Facebook, you start looking around and you go.

I don't know what someone's doing.

You know, that kind of deal.

And if there was no harassment or any kind of crazy stuff going on with it, then I think they should just let it go and we just move forward from here.

But if they got on there, because, you know, when they, when you get a new program at work, you do want everybody to come in and, you know, how they're going to experiment with it without looking somebody up.

Right.

And that's probably what happened.

I'm thinking maybe.

No, these were egregious acts that were done by these two law enforcement officers.

But my thing is.

Okay.

Well, I'm just saying.

Yeah, I feel like

disciplinary action is definitely needed.

Okay.

So

well, I was just saying

not going to do

unless it was egregious activity.

It was.

Then I think we should just move forward.

Why are you looking up your people?

Get out of here.

If your people are wanted for criminal activity, then I see why you could be on there looking for their vehicle.

Other than that, you have no damn business doing that.

You ought to order.

Okay, let me just put

it to you like this.

We already short-headed.

But that don't mean we're going to keep crooked or people that are doing crazy things in my opinion.

That's true.

That's true.

However, you know,

maybe we're going to sign you up.

I'm not fit to be a police officer.

I got things in my background.

I got

little something.

I just say I can't never run for public office at all.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah,

but don't run a check on me.

Listen,

keep my license plate out your flock.

Get the flock out my business.

Listen.

Don't even start cuz I I'm a habitual line stepper so

You might not want to look

me

up

right but you know in its own way though in its own way yes even with

Uh, the egregious acts that the two law enforcement officers did, right?

It shows that the flock system works because they were able to go and see that they had abused the flock system.

So it's like, it's still work.

It's still work.

You know what I'm saying?

So, and it should also send a message because allegedly.

Yes.

The internal affairs, uh, officer.

Yes.

His was before the IALAS.

Oh, wow.

Yeah.

Wow.

So because of the

investigation.

That's the thing.

You got to be the officer investigating.

And you know you done abusing.

That must have messed with his mind the whole

time.

You investigate somebody, but you know you done worse, right?

Yep.

That's crazy.

Yep.

Yep.

So, uh, and so with another thing and we're going to come back with this, um, I ended up talking about the situation where law enforcement on the 4th of July and there was two different officers that were injured and there was this, uh, black Audi and.

They found it over there on 12 to find the lag empty and then they found the person who had been shot because they had shot the officers at Fire Black.

And with that, I ended up finding out some information because I received a criminal complaint, right?

And Hunter Myers.

is the 18-year-old that is charged.

I was about eight of them in the damn car.

It was like a whole clown car.

Really?

Yeah.

Two adults and, you know, the rest was underage.

He's white.

He's a Caucasian.

Hunter Meyer is a Caucasian.

Hunter Meyer?

Yes.

You should have knew by the name Hunter.

Well, I mean, is

he in

relation to the Myers that owned the Meyer grocery stores?

No, cuz he is in EY.

He like he's he's skin-adjacent Order in the studio homer blow is these M-e-y-e-r.

You know I'm saying you do a lot

all of the things.

But uh, yeah.

So yeah, he's white, 18 year old white boy.

And he's he's charged with that.

But again, you know, when they sent me the criminal complaint yesterday, I was like, Oh, it's a Caucasian.

I was like, Okay, okay.

But the listen, he was Caucasian.

The other arguments.

See,

not so much.

No.

So it wasn't a

Car full of Caucasians.

No,

no.

But Hunter was there.

Hunter hates his mom.

And he's rebellious.

You know, I'm just giving it.

I'm joking.

I'm joking.

But you know how they go.

Be like,

right?

I want to hang with the black kids.

You know what I'm saying?

They probably let him say the n word and everything.

You know what I'm saying?

Probably listen to music that's bumping from the walkie artists.

Oh, unfortunately.

and I wonder if it was his mom or dad's Audi.

You know what I'm saying?

Wow.

I don't know, but we gotta take care of some pills.

See?

But Hunter Meyer, 18 year old, that is charged in injuring a Milwaukee Police Department law enforcement officer.

Wow.

And shooting, they were shooting.

And yeah, he's white.

You know what's gonna happen.

It's fair because they have mental health issues.

Oh, you know it.

You know it.

We got to take care of some pills.

Truth Nation, what's your thoughts?

It wasn't us.

Well, it was, but

we'll be black.

Okay.

Yeah See what you notice about the clip something that I bring up a lot Xavier if you can play that clip from this story

Tomorrow, Milwaukee officials are set to release new quarterly crime numbers.

And as Bill Missen explains, two separate incidents over the holiday weekend that injured two Milwaukee police officers will likely be a focus of the conversation.

Bill joins us live now.

Yeah, hey there guys.

It was early Sunday morning.

Milwaukee police say officers here near water and NAP streets were running towards the sound of gunfire nearby when one of the officers was hit by a vehicle fleeing the scene.

And just a couple hours before that, Milwaukee police say an officer was injured as they were running after people who were setting off fireworks on nearby Brady Street.

Over the weekend, Milwaukee police say an officer was hurt after being hit with fireworks near Brady and Cambridge.

Also, early Sunday morning, police say officers shot and wounded an 18-year-old man after police say he hit an officer with a car near Water and Knapp Streets as officers ran to the sound of gunshots.

Chief Jeffrey Norman said Sunday the suspect vehicle was later found near Twelton Fondlack, as well as the 18-year-old driver.

The driver was located in the vicinity.

It was determined he was struck by the officer's gunfire.

Everything begins at home.

everything does.

On Monday, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson noted the hundreds, if not thousands of people who celebrated the holiday weekend responsibly while calling out the upbringing of people who cause chaos in the city.

It's beyond a policing

thing, right?

I don't want to put this at the feet of the police department.

Those folks who go down there and cause problems, they make a decision to do that.

The event's just the latest incidents to happen in the city's entertainment districts.

Brady Street recently implemented its pilot safety plan.

Is there a concern that these events have an impact on business and drawing more people that want to be there to enjoy a safe environment?

I'm always taking a look and trying to be cognizant of what these sort of events mean.

for businesses, for public safety, and for the city as a whole.

Milwaukee downtown said it was disheartened by you.

You can bring that down.

Let me let you know.

Hunter L. Meyer, 18 years old, faces 10 charges after prosecutors say he fired a handgun into a crowd near Milwaukee's Water Street District over the 4th of July weekend.

It struck a police officer with his car and led officers on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.

Court documents say at about 2.15 a.m.

on July 5th, officers working a crowd control detail spotted a black 2015 Audi S6 spinning circles in a parking lot at 1301 North Edison Street.

Then came the gunshots.

An officer approached the Audi and shined a flashlight on the driver, later identified as Meyer and ordered him out.

According to the complaint, Meyer accelerated nearly hitting the officer.

According to the criminal complaint, as the car sped out of the lot, it headed towards two other officers, one who jumped clear and it struck a third officer on foot.

The third officer sustained a leg laceration and told investigators she fired her weapon to try and stop the vehicle.

from continuing to strike her and others.

Officers reported hearing as many as 15 shots.

Investigators recovered 20 casings from multiple firearms, three bullet fragments, an airsoft pistol and a Glock with a full auto switch, and at least one vehicle that was hit by gunfire.

Pole cameras captured the Audi speeding away, swerving through traffic and crossing into oncoming lanes.

The complaint states, Meyer ran a red light on West Vonderlack Avenue.

and slammed into a 2024 Toyota RAV4 at 1100 West Fonda Light Avenue.

The RAV4 driver was taken to the hospital with head and black pain and lost consciousness, but the Audi didn't stop.

Court documents say officers found the disabled car in the 1200 block of West Walnut Street and arrested Myer nearby.

He had apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators recovered two nine millimeter handguns, one at the wrecked Audi, another along Myers flight path.

Six other people had been inside the car during the chase.

They left him.

Listen, but one of them

got out the car and ran.

Listen,

he didn't get the memo on the running thing.

But but but the thing that I wanted.

Make note of and I do this every time this happens They didn't have a mug shot of white Hunter L Meyer.

They didn't have a much shot They didn't have a picture of him.

Yeah, what about?

We not showing the picture because he's a minor or whatever.

No, he grown.

They let him hang out.

He's 18.

They let him hang out with the people.

It's been some 16 and 17 year olds that have been charged as an adult and we saw the picture, especially once we knew the criminal complaint was out because now we can name the person.

Yeah.

Now we can show the picture.

Yeah.

Where's his picture?

Ain't no picture.

Yeah, we need to see Hunter L Meyer.

You know,

you know, he took, you know, he took a mug shot.

Yeah, he took

one.

Where is it at?

Why we don't get to see Hunter?

Because Hunter doesn't usually typically do things like this.

And what happened was he was hanging out.
