At the bottom of the hour, Julius Shieh of the Right To Repair Campaign at Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group (WISPIRG) joins us to explain why this is far bigger than most software discontinuations. Approximately 440 million computers will either face security issues or become e-waste when Microsoft’s support ends in less than a week. The worst part? The company plans to continue creating these safety updates, but will only release them as part of a paid subscription. WISPIRG is petitioning this decision.
