Keep an eye or ear tuned to your local weather service! More severe thunderstorms may be headed all around the state this weekend. The worst storms are expected on Saturday and Sunday night. Additionally, Madison in particular will have heavy traffic on the Isthmus this weekend due to the annual gap in student housing leases. 

As the summer comes to a close, many of us are getting our final vacations in before Labor Day. The US Senate and Congress are also in recess, and Wisconsin’s representatives are using their free time in very different ways. While Representatives like Tony Wied are taking vacations to places like Israel, Senator Tammy Baldwin is touring Northern Wisconsin to listen to her constituents. It’s not just Republicans who are abandoning their posts at important times. While the Trump administration occupies Washington, D.C., the city’s mayor is heading over to Martha’s Vineyard for a family event.

On the other hand, we are seeing a refreshing moment of bipartisanship as Democrats Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Rep. Gween Moore team up with Republican Rep. Bryan Steil to fight for FEMA funds in Southeastern Wisconsin.
