The Milwaukee Brewers are white-hot right now, but the Green Bay Packers are having a rough pre-season start. Civic Media Sports Reporter Mike Clemens calls in to share his observations on the ground at Lambeau Field. While many members of the team are on an upward trajectory, the team announced that quarterback Jordan Love injured his left hand. Yikes.
After the sports conversation, Todd updates us on the severe thunderstorms and historic flooding in the Milwaukee area. As of an hour before the show, tens of thousands of people are still without power. Governor Evers yesterday declared a state of emergency for Milwaukee residents, which is the first step in securing aid from FEMA to recover from this natural disaster.
At the bottom of the hour, we are joined by EAA Museum Director Chris Henry to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Astronaut Jim Lovell, who passed away at the end of last week. While many of us are aware of Lovell’s role in the survival of those aboard the Apollo 13 mission, he also holds an important place in aviation history and has a strong Wisconsin connection.
