During our first hour, one of our listeners texted in asking for tips on helping Latino friends and family members, even if they are legal citizens. Todd has experience with immigration to and from Central American countries, and he provides some sound advice. If you “look Latino,” it might be a good idea to start carrying identification like a passport with you. Unfortunately, we may not be far off from a time where citizens are asked to show their papers to law enforcement. Whether or not you are a citizen, you can find information on your rights at micentro.org. Centro Hispano is an organization based in Dane County, but they may be able to help you find a local resource if you are not in that area.
