We begin today’s show with some breaking news. Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes has been selected as the next Police Chief of Seattle, Washington. According to the mayor of Seattle, the “performance” of Chief Barnes when addressing this week’s tragic Madison shooting played a part in getting him the job. 

Last night, the continuing resolution (CR) to keep our government running failed to pass in the House of Representatives. Despite what they may say on social media, Republicans have control of the House and are wholly responsible for this potential government shutdown. This situation is complex, but Todd has an analogy to bring it down where the chickens can get at it. 

Barstool Sports is an incredibly successful media company with a focus on college sports and pop culture. One of the secrets to their success is an intentional heavy bias. If somebody only listens to their team’s Barstool Sports channel, they hear a picture of a wonderful team on the path to perfection regardless of actual performance. Political news is divided in much the same way.
